New Eastern Tandoori in Chesterfield

Ordered takeaway from here today, food arrived fast and was very tasty but 20-30 minutes after I finished my meal I was very unwell. Avoid at all costs

Absolutely disgusting service. Ordered my food at 18.57, received an email to say my food would be ready at 20.00. Waited until 20.23 until I rang, only to be received by a very rude individual on the other end, wouldn’t let me get a word in. Told me my food would be delivered in 25-30 minutes. At this point I did not want to eat a curry at 9pm so I rang them again asking them if they could cancel because I didn’t want to eat a curry so late. Only to be met with the same rudeness. I had to speak to customer service on deliveroo to ensure I got a refund but even this process was not easy and now I’m going to bed without food- night ruined. Thanks 👌🏼

Ordered from here a few times now and it's been amazing every time. Yes it's dearer than some other places but it's worth every single penny. Food has been fresh and hot every time. Not a single complaint. My new favourite takeaway. Keep up the good work 👏 will definitely be back to try more dishes!

Tried this place for the first time yesterday - pleasantly surprised. Tasty food, good portions, and quick delivery - only 35mins on a Friday night. Good value too: £30 for the two of us, but really it would have fed three...! Will certainly be back.

Food came late and cold, food was mediocre. And to top it off, had my wall scratched by delivery driver. Appalling

Just ordered and literally the price has nearly doubled in the last 6 months. Love the food but £72 for 3 main meals, 5 nann breads, 2 pickle trays, onion bhai, 1 pilau rice and 2 portions of chips as a takeaway so not paying for any service is very expensive. Shame as the food is very tasty but most places are nery half the price, so will be shopping round next time.

Orders on uber eats and they cancelled it. No explanation and won’t answer the phone.

The food was delivered hot and quickly and the side dishes are tasty and as expected. However, the main courses (we ordered three different dishes) were all in exactly the same ‘Dolmio style italian tomato sauce’ but with varying degrees of chilli heat. Overall it wasn’t unpleasant but it wasn’t an indian curry and we won’t be ordering again.

We ordered it to try, was good but to justify the price to the food we won't go again. Reasons are this, I know it's not been open for long and I think prices have gone up to the expensive area. Got price off the menu and didn't match plus we are in the 12 pounds over under 3 miles area. The curry was to tomato(tangy) and coudnt taste rest of the spices. Meat was spot on to be honest. Amount was decent. I don't like place putting jargon on there menus either rice is one dish! Not side or main. Then we ordered a side rice and didn't get it. Or say this or that. Especially dishes reaching ten pounds!! I want that in a sit down restaurant thank you!! The price put us off and the tomatoes and missing are dish. They ram louds of onions etc in there dishes... Hard to find one with just sauce in yet. Cons (price, to tangy, dishes missing seems a normal takeaway to me nothing special. No insentives when spending £30 on three people no starters some sides and mains only. Pros (meat decent, veg rice more flavered then curry. Quick to deliver.

Just ordered our first take away from New Eastern Tandoori. Very very disappointing ! Lamb Madras was a few small pieces of lamb swimming in a chilli tomatoe sauce, everything else was dry and tasteless. We won’t be buying from this place again.

Delivery made exactly to the minute required and the food was excellent. It was my second time ordering from them & I will definitely be ordering again.

It's our first time here. I tried an in line order but the salad no salad option for biryani didn't work. Phoned an order through and my Scottish accent was well understood. All the dishes were well done and tasted fresh. The tarka Dall was interestingly different. Starters were outstanding. My sauce on the lamb methi tasted a little burnt at first but the lamb was tender. We'll be back.

We have thoughly enjoyed the meals we have ordered & received promptly from New Eastern, fantastic food, thank you, Barker Lane.

The food and prices are excellent, but sometimes the premises are not open as advertised and the delivery service can be very poor in terms of waiting for meals to arrive.

Love the food here. I always order from the same Indian because I love the cheese and garlic naan. The only con is the wait but the food is good so can’t complain.

after being loyal customers of new eastern for a few years now unfortunately after tonight we definitely will not be ordering from there ever again! Our order was yet again missing items, I understand this can happen as a one off but this was the third time and the restaurant refused to help saying the items was delivered which they definitely was not! we also received the wrong curry and rice to which yet again nothing was done! I don’t understand how it can take two hours to make a wrong curry and miss out had of our order! it would not be so bad if the restaurant was willing to help! I am not one to complain but feel this needs to be mentioned and something needs to be done !!

the worst curry i have ever tasted the sag aloo had old potatoes and just tasted off! garlic butter in the nan was not melted, and the oil in te mushroom rice poured out when i took the lid off

Food was brilliant. However arrived over two hours after ordering! Every time we rang up to see where it was we had the answer you’re next on the list and it will arrive in five minutes. 15 minutes later still no food. Rang up again and was told the same it’ll be five minutes. Happened three times before we finally got our food.

will not be ordering again. Food was ordered at 7.30pm and was delivered at 9.25pm when asked for ASAP (they did say 9.05pm)... however I can deal with that. what I do not like is Luke warm terrible tasting food. I have had Biryani’s from several places...none like this. normally the sauce is not sweet and had a “Ketchupy” taste to it. My mistake for trying a new place. Will stick with my normal curry house!

Very overcooked onion bajhis. No pickle tray sent when one was in the order. Got the poopadoms! Got a call to say “we haven’t got any mushrooms” so had to do main course with different ingredients. Really not impressivecat all.

Worst Indian we have every had!!!!! Never seen a naan smeared with cold greasy garlic butter before. Soggy and greasy, inedible! Only way to distinguish sag from jalfrezi from Bombay aloo was colour, super sweet but otherwise tasteless. Will never ever use again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been a customer for years (eastern tandoori in town); tried most dishes and all have been 1st class! Madras/jalfrezi fan, but Balti is superb!!!

Waited 1 hour 45 mins for delivery. Delivery arrived with missing chips. Phoned restaurant for them to say it could take up to 30 mins for them to arrive. 30 mins later chips arrived with a delivery driver that said here are your chips and a couple of cans of pop which we didn't order but thought it was nice as good will gesture.... 2 mins later same driver knocked on door for the cans back as they were for someone else that had already delivered too but forgot there cans of pop. Hands down the worst service we've ever had. The food didn't even make up for the poor service. The first delivery driver was lovely may I add. The second didn't know what he was doing.

First time and last time. Although it was delivered 30 mins early I was so disappointed with the food. Firstly the garlic Nan was actually a peshwari Nan; but to be honest that's no big deal. Secondly the whole meal was watery and bizarrely tasted on mint.. If your ordering a curry, read and believe the reviews, I didnt 😕

Yuk! Bhaji's were like supermarket one's, bhuna was bland but really sweet!? Meat samosa and naan were nice and you can't go wrong with rice but overall disappointing. And was so late!

Had vindaloo wasnt a vindaloo but was still a nice curry

first time weve tried here and unfortunately it wasnt up to scratch, wayyy too much garlic on the nan breads which were undercooked, cthe chips were not very nice, the lamb chops were pieces of lamb and over cooked and tough, the mango chutney and mint sauce was really horrible unforntunately. im afraid we wont be trying here again. sorry

Ordered at 19.50 supposed to arrive at 21.00. Rang up at 21.20 was told it was on its way arrived at 21.45 barely warm had to reheat. Not impressed!!

Garlic man was completely overpowering and saturated. Curries did not have authentic taste or marinated. We were both unwell after eating some of the takeaway.

Food was good. Fresh. Nice. The peshwari naan and roti were made from wholemeal flour, which I liked a lot. Although they were both quite dry. I received a phone call from the restaurant after placing my order saying one of the ingredients was not available and whether I'd like an alternative. The man was polite and good on the phone. But when I arrived two people in the open kitchen we're having a heated argument while cooking! The stated collection time was 20 mins. I arrived at 30 minutes but still had to wait 10 more minutes to be given food.

Lovely food, fresh and all hot. I collected and it did take 35 minutes but definitely worth it. I shall be back, thanks team

2 pieces of chicken in one of the korma dishes, rice was cold, chips were hard and the sagg tasted like soap. Don’t recommend using this restaurant at all.

Absolutely the pinnacle of Indian restaurants in Chesterfield...PERIOD! I have tried food from most Indian restaurants in Chesterfield and in my opinion, New Eastern is the best! From the food, the service and the delivery drivers...all combined makes this establishment near perfection - the only downside...it's a shame we can't eat them every meal! LOL All joking aside, we wish the personnel and the business as a whole all the very best, and please....don't close the business!

The nan bread, onion bhajis were delicious. The chicken in the curry tasted very fresh and nice but the khari sauce did not taste authentic or fresh. I didn't get any onion salad and yoghurt sauce for the pomadums

We rarely order Indian food and this place was our go to. The food used to be fabulous but last night was very different to the usual standard. Our order was late and arrived cold. We really didn't enjoy it. I'm not sure what's changed here but hopefully they're back to their best soon!

Food was very disappointing. Looked okay but was bland. The Keema Nan was the best thing about the entire meal, however, it left our fingers bright yellow that took two days to get rid of.

Poor service. Delivery took 1.5hours on a tuesday. The food was poor, barely warm and did not taste good. The food did not taste fresh and pretty certain the nan was defrosted before delivery but not fully so very disappointing

Absolutely shocking! Food arrived late, and not even sure a dog would of enjoyed eating the food! Only thing we were able to eat was the poppadoms, chicken chatt tasted like it had 20 lemons blended into the mush which was supposed to be chicken, the butter chicken which is often a favourite from other restaurants (creamy/mild) was clearly the wrong dish as it was spicy and like a bowl of orange soup! Restaurant refused a refund! Wouldn't recommend people buying from here, shocking experience

Restaurant extended delivery time, then delivered well before the original requested time. The food was nothing special, in fact it was probably the worst Indian I have eaten in this area. I will not be ordering from here again.

1st from this takeaway, ordered before I read the reviews. Even tried to cancel.... can tikka starter - 6/10... not the best chicken quality . King prawn karai 10/10 ... delicious meal . I’ll order again !

There was items missing from our order, rung to inform and was told abruptly and rudely that it would take up to an hour to get these items to us or we could fetch them ourselves, asked them if the items had just been forgotten to be put in with the order or forgotten altogether and he just said I don't know they aren't here. Asked about a refund and he just said ring just eat. No apologies, very rude, very bad service

I ordered the Balti which completely ruined the whole meal. The rice just smelled of onion. However the onion barjis were great! Word of advice, never order the Balti!!!! It definitely wasn't Indian. More Chinese sweet and sour

The food was of very poor quality. The rice tasted of microwave rice and the chicken was tasteless and dry. I won't be ordering from here again.

The food did taste nice although they sent two wrong dishes and two of the same when I ordered two different meals. A bit disappointing when I was after a very hot Indian dish (madras, vindaloo) and the ones I received were very mild.

Order was 20 minutes late, no apology, food looked bland and without sauce, however looked better than it tasted. Chicken dry, sag tasteless and watery, had to brush teeth after eating a bit off the naan, rice apparently boil in the bag. Ate very little, off to get some chips, will not use this take away again
