AVOID If YOU CAN! I tend not to write sour reviews, but this one turned out to be exceptionally outrageous. Let’s talk about the food first. They advertise themselves to be Sichuan/Szechuan food while their dishes have nothing to do with it. Real, authentic Szechuan cuisine should never taste this sweet and greasy. Don’t bother to try them unless you want garbage food filled with tons of sugar and oil! And not to mention the horrible service. We tried to be nice all along, while the waiter and waitress there only gave us bland reaction in return, in a way that makes you feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. When we finished dining, they tricked my boyfriend into making payment without seeing the bill first. It is extremely unprofessional for a restaurant - you’ll never know if you’ve been overcharged!

We went in for hot pot. The ingredients were not fresh. What surprised us most was if you can’t finish your food you had to pay for £15 per head AND you are not allowed to keep the food you paid for. Presumably they can resell the leftover food which may explain why the food ingredients were unfresh. In their defence they did say in small prints abt the punishment but never mentioned that you can’t keep the food you paid for.

Really nice and native restaurant! We highly recommend the beef stew with potatoes, grilled fish, aubergine, and chicken soup with pork belly, and the tables in the restaurant heat up automatically, so the food doesn't get cold even if you eat it slowly. The portions are large and beyond expectation, definitely not the perfunctory Chinese food!

Lone ranger lunch. Away from the hustle and bustle of the market. Quiet piece full and super tasty seafood with soft noodles. I always give credit where it is due. Freshly cooked, with lovely fresh ingredients. You cannot go wrong here. I am a chef so my bar is super high and these guys know what they are doing. Cleaness is the best. Really recommend the pickled fried intestines. Chicken soup and hot spicy pot are good options as well. The staffs are nice. It is a good place to have dinner with friends.

Pig Stomach Chicken and Sour Cabbage with Pork Intestines were exceptionally delicious！

Wow. We did not expect what the kitchen put on our table when we went last Thursday night. My HK friend and I who've lived in Shanghai for over 10years were shocked with how good and authentic the food was here. Every dish that came out and we tasted was heaven in our mouth. I really can't fault anything about this place. We ordered the cucumber cold dish, pig ear cold dish, eggplant with pork, szechuan fish in oil and the pork knuckle. I promise you, this place does not disappoint.

My boyfriend comes here to get salt and pepper chicken wings and chips. He loves it! He’s become a regular, sometimes the owners even give him a free beer. I’ve also had their sweet and sour chicken which was lovely. Definitely recommend.

They are the best Chinese restaurant in London, they can provide different kind of Chinese dishes, my favorite dishes are grilled fish and mala xiangguo.

Good value, authentic and excellent food

Have known this place for 30 years. A few years ago, it was expanded and renovated to become an excellent Chinese restaurant as well as a takeaway.

Great find! Simply awesome place. They kindly served us at 10:45pm just before closing. The menu is way too big so I asked where they are from - Fujian, and so is the chef. I said make me a dish from Fujian. Fujian fried rice the owner suggested - holy moly it was exquisitely cooked! Also had some salt pepper squid and fried wonton dumplings also very good. I'll be back. You should come eat here!

I really recommend the Du Han restaurant, as well as the hot pot and the spicy hot pot. It's not very spicy and it is perfect for southern Chinese tastes！ 下个月我妈妈来伦敦，我一定会带她来吃东兴阁，好几样菜都是我的意难平，根本吃不够，四喜丸子，麻辣烤鱼，猪肚鸡，干锅牛肚……好像小时候爸爸经常带我去吃的餐厅。

Popped in for lunch and tried the lunch menu which is around £11 per dish depending on what you order. Huge portion served quickly, very tasty. What more do you want? Will be back.

Very good food, and great value for central London. I have struggled finding decent authentic Chinese in the UK but this was fantastic.

The food was cold by the time it got here. I had to call them to see where it was. As soon as I called it just so happened that the order status changed to “on its way”… shame as was really looking forward to the meal.

So impressed with the pickled fish dish, the flavour is absolutely gorgeous, so layered, beautiful oriental decor. They really prepared every dish with heart. Will come back!

We were there on a weekend afternoon sat by the big window (great weather by the way!), I'll be honest though the food was great in general, the fish oh-mai-god is mindblowingly amazing. Very flavourful, good texture real crispy, I don't think anything can ever top this. Attentive staff, decent selection on the menu, I'll be back next time to try other dishes for sure.

The service was great ( super friendly and efficient waiting staff who made us feel like at home ) , food was really tasty ( the chef is a genius . I recommend dish 83 , chicken with green peppers in black bean sauce ) , and the entire place has been refurbished and you really get the feeling of being in China . Love this restaurant . I was here with a group of friends and we had an amazing time here. The all you can eat chinese hotpot is well worth the price and there are loads of options to choose from. The food was served very quickly despite it was a very busy evening. We also ordered some side dishes and dimsum on top of the chinese hotpot and they were very delicious. I always love a bit of sichuang food and will definitely come back again to try the sichuang drypot next.

Went for the all you can eat hotpot buffet @ close to 30 pp - certain innards that are supposed to be highlights were unavailable but the fatty beef / lamb slices and seafood were of very good quality! They carry Tsingtao too - the only downside is that service can be slow even if you're close to being the only table and they charge extra for sauces! The area is quiet and peaceful for a nice meal away from the extreme crowds + more parking options if you drive.

Highly recommended due to the amazing combination of high tech and traditional settings. The food is as fabulous as it always and now the major spotlight which distinguishes it from the other normal chinese restaurants is that it has automated hotpot tables. This enables the family to gather and eat at ease. It is surprisingly so high tech that the automated table can serve all your dishes without your own manual turning around the table. And it has warm function for different parts of the table to maintain the temperature or even cook the dishes as well. It is definitely the first automated Chinese restaurant in city of London. And the surrounding environment is quite decent with easy approaches including northern line and jubilee.

Ordered a chicken and cashew nut dish with a side of egg fried rice. It was ready under 5 minutes which was suspiciously quick. The chicken was really jelly-like and inedible. The vegetables were really wet and overall it had little flavour. I left 3/4s of it so it was super disappointing

There is no better place for Cantonese cuisine in central London than New East Chinese restaurant. As someone who has visited China & experienced traditional eastern cuisine, I can guarantee you'll experience traditional eastern & western dishes to tantalise your taste buds. In addition to offering great food and service, the owners will go above and beyond to provide you with warm hospitality. There is nothing better than my salt and pepper prawns coupled with a cup of Chrysanthemum tea (júhuā chá)....

Very happy with the food. I received. Having been to China I can verify it is very much authentic. I can’t empathise strong enough how happy I was with the service I had. Ling was exceptionally kind during my visit. Definitely would recommend a visit.

My girlfriend ordered a meal from here for the whole family they insisted on cash only and didn't provide her with a receipt, upon dishing up the food was incredibly bland and the chicken balls were so wrank I luckily spat them out and left the food in the bowl, glad I did as my girlfriend and her mother who also said how disgusting the food was promptly vomited afterwards. Highly recommend avoiding this place and I will be reporting them to the food standards agency for an investigation. A quick look at other reviews seems like others are having a similar experience. Got part of the order wrong and had to wait ages for the correct item to be delivered, by which time the rest of the food was cold...A decent restaurant would have made the complete order again so all of the food was hot....Not this restaurant....Plus, they wanted the incorrect item back, no doubt to give another customer!!
