New Dynasty in Lewes

What has happened here? This place was so great up to and even through the pandemic. As a very regular customer I have seen things go down hill this year. Poor quality meats, tasteless and over cooked. You can overlook an occasional slip-up but quality and care? appears lacking.

Inconsistent, inconsiderate and unedible. This outlet has been going for years and I have been a customer for pretty much 20 years or more. Always friendly service. Two weeks ago I had a magnificent take away of pancake rolls, rice and ribs so ordered the very same thing tonight. How wrong can I be. Totally inedible ribs, overcooked and gristle throughout. I mean inedible... I rang to feedback and received a patronising response which was unacceptable afternoon such long patronage. Enough said. Other quality outlets are available. So much for customer loyalty and patronage. More their loss than mine.

I have previously always eaten in the restaurant and was excellent, but since covid only doing takeaways. The meal was ready inside 10 minutes from order which seemed a bit quick. The food was not of a good quality as previously experienced. I was violently sick during the night. Very expensive takeaway in the end as also lost a day's pay from still feeling I'll and weak next day. ....

Our first time ordered from here this evening and it didn’t disappoint! We will be back, it was delicious 🤩

Had a takeaway this evening, arrived in good time. Food was piping hot and came in large portions. It was INCREDIBLE. Best Chinese I’ve had in a long time. Would definitely recommend

Not the best Chinese takeaway; sweet and sour sauce in chop suey and EVERYTHING. More salty than other places and every dish tastes the same.

Fantastic party here last night. Fabulous food, fantastic service great atmosphere. Thank you to David and Mandy for a wonderful evening. Wheelchair friendly, no accessible loo, but easy access to the restaurant. Such a variety of food, swaps on the fixed menus ok, large portions too.

We have been visiting this restaurant for many years and have always found it excellent for food and service. The food is always freshly cooked from locally sourced ingredients and we know this as we have often met David,the owner and cook, shopping in Seaford! Can't recommend it enough!

What a little gem, staff absolutely lovely- friendly, welcoming and attentive! Had the set menu with crispy duck pancakes and it was so tasty. The whole meal was superb, even the coffee was really good( my husband was made up as his was served with cream!). Would go there anytime - sadly we were on our way to the ferry, but if ever we are back will be there like a shot!

Myself & a group of ladies arranged a meal here. We all go out once a month. New Dynasty is a lovely Chinese restaurant set just off the main road. There is a good choice on the menu but we went for the set menu A. This consisted of duck with pancakes followed by crispy chilly beef, chicken & vegetables in a lovely sauce. The food was hot & tasty. The service was excellent & the price was very reasonable. I will definitely go back.

For visitors to the town, they need not look further if they like Cantonese cuisine. The dishes here are nicely prepared and would satisfy any visitors with discerning palate. Remember to make reservations just to be safe.

Dark and dingy restaurant. Cutlery and cups where dirty but thought we would give this place a chance as the reviews looked really good on here. Food came out so quickly i questioned freshness! and sure this was reheated food as had a weird glaze on the sauce and meat was old and tasted weird. I did not even eat a 1/4 of my food and binned the rest. Do not eat here if you know good quality food and real authentic well prepared Chinese.

I loved the customer service from the moment I booked the restaurant. The person on the phone was so friendly and polite. We had set menu 2. It was amazing. So many different dishes and all home made. All of the staff made us feel special for the whole evening and were so friendly and smiling all the time. This restaurant is amazing and I can understand why customers go back time and time again. Well done, team!

This family run business is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been in. In fact I was talking to a traveller in there one day and he reckoned that it was the best Chinese in the country! The staff are lovely and over time we have appreciated their friendliness. The food is always delicious and in generous portions. (If a dish is not quite what you require they will always try to accommodate your taste.) Whether it is a takeaway that you order or if you choose the very nice restaurant the meals offer excellent value.

We love Chinese food but it is now virtually impossible to find any good places to either go to or have a take away from, in Eastbourne in our opinion, so I found this place on TA and booked a table for Friday evening.

We visited on the off chance whilst in Seaford on a Sunday evening, we came because of the reviews on trip advisor and so glad we did!

Been coming here for a long time now. Very good value and food always comes out hot and delicious. Great for a group of friends.

Our group was made very welcome and staff very accommodating to our needs. Portions were large and the chicken in my dish very tender and succulent. Wine by the bottle reasonable prices as well which is always a plus.

OK, I'll admit I am biased, but after 20+ years of eating here it is our favourite Chinese restaurant by far. I know the family as I've been coming here so long. But, a welcoming smile awaits any visitors, David seems to remember everyone's name who visits!! The food is always plentiful and perfect. There are other restaurants available but none run for so many years by the same family... I'll never stop going!

Excellent friendly and knowledgeable staff, mostly Chinese. Pleasant décor but best of all superb and plentiful food with a wide variety to suit all tastes, all freshly cooked and well presented. Never long to wait for food, good selection of wines and other drinks. I would recommend this restaurant for a group occasion, or just for a meal for two.

Visited this restaurant for an evening meal with friends. Greeted warmly by staff on arrival. The menu offered a good choice of food and set meals for two or four people. We enjoyed a tasty starter with a good selection of food and opted for the set meal for four. Portions were generous and freshly cooked. The restaurant was very clean and we received a great service. Not the cheapest Chinese restaurant but worth a visit. Would definitely go back.

Level access restaurant. Greeted with enthusiasm + friendly staff. We rearranged the table slightly to allow 90degree dining not opposite dining. The staff were happy to help with this and to accommodate this. No wheelchair accessible toilets.

Serve very good Chinese food. The spicy spare ribs and prawn toasts for starters are particularly good. The menu is varied and I have in the past experienced the extra special dish of lobster in garlic and ginger - wow! Staff are helpful and friendly...

That woman was never going to refund my dry, 2 day old, reheated, chinese style roast duck with a dribble of soy sauce . Don't insult my intelligence and say that it was cooked today. I asked 3 times when it was cooked and she didn't answer, she evaded my questioning. Only when I suggested 'today'? did she just agree.) Roast duck that arrived within 10 minutes of being ordered never a good sign. I ate two bits and stopped eating it. She said I'd eaten half of it and how was she meant to make money. This is me and my partners favourite Chinese,we regularly get take always from here and the food is the best,always amazing and good quality and very quick delivery,the only place we will get Chinese from,absolutely amazing food

Wonderful food, great atmosphere and fantastic service. Catered for the vegetarian very well. Fully accessible restaurant, we had a round table which suited us well, lots of space and could see and converse with everyone.

We had a delicious take away. Quick service, good sized portions and was really hot even after we had walked home

Great food enjoyed by our family group, the Mixed Starter platter to share was a great choice with generous portions. Followed by several further dishes including Duck with Pancakes and Crispy Chilli Beef, friendly Staff and we will return.

Against my better judgement and with the others in my group of 8 men friends insisting that the food is "Great" I joined them there on a Friday night. Positive points first: The staff were very friendly and attentive, the restaurant is quite well appointed and some of the food tasted OK. Sad to say there were in my opinion some negatives that I found unsatisfactory. We opted for a set meal at around £22 per head this was served in two groups of 4.. The mixed starters were very poor,A small dish containing cold seaweed, some sort of fried filo pastry wanton with no filling (10 between 4) and a second dish one spare rib each(more sparse than spare) with virtually no meat on them at all. The Duck with pancakes was OK but the duck was cold and again 10 pancakes between 4. The main courses consisted of Chicken with Cashews, a pork dish, a prawn dish, a mixed vegetable and a sizzling beef all served with rice. The sizzling beef was at least hot and tasted fine but again 10 thin slices of meat between 4 men.All the meat and the prawn dish had 10 pieces between 4 why not 12 (3 each) all the food was served on dishes designed for two portions and piled high with too many vegetables to give the illusion of good portions all the dishes including the rice were cold. At the end of the meal the manager did provide us each with a complimentary deep fried banana desert it was stodgy and greasy. I found the drinks over priced and did not feel that the food was good value as I was one of the two on our table who only had two small mouthfuls of meat or prawn from each dish. I found the sauces bland and lacking flavor and the meat/chicken portions small and over bulked with vegetables. Sorry folks but I would not go back again there is far better value in the area.

There is not much choice of restaurant in downtown Seaford. We had a good meal at the New Dynasty...although much of the fare was standard Chinese, the wonton soup was better than average because our host hails from Hong Kong and is particularly fussy about the quality of his soups. The service here was excellent...I would recommend it as a good place for a tasty meal after a long day of walking.

A group meal with a set menu pre arranged with David our host. The food as always was fantastic, service and detail to the customers needs was great. Checking for allergies before serving up the food. Lots of prawn crackers and chilli dips on the table ready for our arrival. No issues with paying as we went with drinks, as there was a fair few of us we decided in advance to 'stick to our own'.

After hearing such fab reviews of the New Dynasty we ordered a takeaway. Well, unfortunately this was the poorest Chinese I have had. Firstly two main items of the meal weren't delivered. When I called everyone was pleasant but I should have been offered a refund of these two items and got them re- delivered. At least give delivery charge back. We had finished our meal by the time the extras turned up. On to the food. Nothing tastes fresh. Even the side for the Duck of cucumber and spring onion looked days old! Chicken tasted of rubber and overall just not very good. I must say the Singapore Noodles were good though. But if I was in the restaurant I thought I I would have asked for the whole bill back!

Very disappointed with our take away tonight from New Dynasty. The food turned up cold and the garlic prawns were absolutely disgusting. The (sauce) which was like water had fallen out of the container and I was left with a bag full of water. I had to throw the prawn dish in the bin which was a complete waste of money. (£6.80 for prawn dish)I phoned them and was given poor service. I was told that other people like it!! No offer to replace my dish or refund. The water tastes of vinegar even though it was meant to be garlic. They were clearly busy tonight as food was so poor. Such a shame as we order from them a lot and eat there often. If they are going to serve dishes like this then they need to be clearer on the menu. If your saying sauce it should not be water and the food should not be delivered cold. Will have to now take our service back to Tangs!

We went here based on a combination of TA reviews - and the 5 Food Hygiene Rating.What exceptional service - the best of any restaurant that I have reviewed ( and there have been plenty)From the first welcome through to each and every person we were contacted by - all outstanding.Great prawn crackers - more came when asked.Good duck - came very quickly after we ordered.I had sizzling prawns - my wife had fish.One portion of rice enough for two.Big portions as well.Old fashioned interior but comfortable.Good value.

We use only new dynasty for our Chinese takeaway and visit for a sit down meal too.. We absolutely love it. Amazing food that's non greasy and doesn't feel like a takeaway at all. Authentic real food.. Most Chinese is greasy and cheap. You get very good quality meat and vegetables. The mixed chow mein has huge slabs of meat and not tiny chunks of processed meat. The staff are incredibly welcoming and always very helpful. It's probably the first place I've eaten where I've never had to complain about anything

As this was arranged for a group on a busy evening, a reservation had been made. We were made welcome on arrival. It was my first visit and I found the restaurant pleasant and comfortable. Most of the group opted for one of the set meals, but as a vegetarian, I went a la carte. The set meal was very generous and my companions appeared to greatly enjoy their meal. I felt that perhaps my choice of starters was rather limited, but the spring rolls were done well. As to main courses, the choice was better but as usually the case, not as extensive as I would have liked. I opted for tofu in black bean sauce, which was very good. Service was very good throughout and a fine evening was had by all.

For dining in or take away meal the New Dynasty Chinese restaurant in Seaford has never let me down in the 12 years that I have frequented it. David and Mandy the proprietors,David also being one of the cooks, always without fail welcome you into a restaurant which exudes warm and friendly atmosphere matched by quick and professional services and quality of meals second to none. An dining experience I can unreservedly recommend. I can also recommend the excellent quality of their take aways from their extensive menu.

It was our first time to Seaford and we've heard friends highly praised this Chinese restaurant about all the good food and great service. We have longed for authentic Chinese food after long time staying in the UK, so we were excited to try this out. It was exactly what out friends told us; the food was great and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The price was reasonable regarding the high quality of food and great service. I would recommend it to all my friends if they travel to Seaford and want some fantastic Chinese food!

Been here a couple of times now for Christmas dos and it always pleases. A great menu with all the favourite and classic dishes. Very reasonable prices highly recommended

We have used the new Dynasty for years and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. However the last two visits have just not been up to par. Last time we ordered lemon Fried Chicken and had the most tasteless ever!. The chicken was like some type of 'poppin chicken', tasteless, dry and mostly batter. The sauce was yellow and gel like with no taste of lemon whatsoever. Prawn balls over done with the batter like a dog chew and pellet like prawns. ribs also overdone and so much gristle.We are not sure what has happened here but consider it time to check out the competition.

We had not been to the New Dynasty for many years and decided to give it a go. The staff were very friendly and efficient, the food arrived piping hot and was lovely , we left very satisfied. We have subsequently used the take away service which is great and quick, plus you can pay with a card before you collect / get food delivered so there is no faffing about for cash.

The food is good and take away is quick to turn up. But a little steep on price . As there's others just as good in the town and a lot cheaper

We have being going to the new dynasty. The food is fantastic and service is even better. Our 3 & 5 year olds eat noodles, prawn toast , spring rolls and loads ,ore. Could not recommend more

I am never disappointed by this restaurant Although it was very busy the food arrived quickly and in was as good a quality as ever.It was delicious and also the correct temperature.David the owner treats everybody as a friend and always has time for chat.Although a bit expensive I recommend this restaurant anytime.

Have been here a few times over the last few months and cannot fault the service or food. Have always been made to feel welcome by the staff who are attentive through tour meal. Food portions are good size and taste great. Would highly recommend if you fancy a Chinese out instead of a takeaway

none of us was impressed with the food or service,wrong meal served, ordered king prawn curry was served chicken,did offer to change,but was made to feel uncomfortable,that it was our error.so declined.then one meal was to hot from spices,not normal for this dish to be so spicy.so this had to be changed as my friend was unable to eat.chicken in lemon sauce not enough sauce so to dry.sadly would not return or recommend from this experience.maybe as it was a wednesday evening perhaps it was the usual chefs day off.dont like to put down local restaurant,just being honest

My family and I have used this restaurant regularly over the past 30 years.. I have eaten Chinese food in the US, Sao Paulo Brasil,France Germany Austria and many places in the UK. but theirs no place like the New Dynasty. The food is consistently good, the service 1st class and for me David makes the best Chili Beef ever.

Our hosts for the evening live next door to a family member of the restaurant owner. I suspect we got more food than we should have. Certainly more than we needed! But it was also very good, fresh, tasty, Chinese food cooked properly. Comfortable room, very good and cheerful service.

Sadly we didn't give these guys a try when we wanted a takeaway delivered because they don't have an online menu. If I have to go to the restaurant to get the menu it kind of negates the point of getting the food delivered... Surely it just makes good business sense. Even if it's in the form of a photo on the Facebook page.

Really enjoyed my meal here. Went with a group and the owner did a fabulous job of taking care of us. Food was delicious especially the aromatic duck. One of the people in our group left their phone behind and the owner drove it over to our hotel in Alfriston and gave it to her before she even realized it was missing.

We always have our anniversary meal at this restaraunt.This year it was as good as ever. The staff greeted us warmly and the dip and prawn crackers arrived instantly.The food was nicely cooked and well presented. I am not keen on the sweets as they are mostly bought in, although the 'orange delight' was reasonably refreshing.In all we had very pleasant evening We will go back again soon.

We have mainly had take away from the New Dynasty. The service is always very quick, the food is always freshly cooked and very tasty. We have also been to a large birthday party here as well. They were able to cope with the large numbers without any problems. It is well worth visiting.

We visited for a large family birthday meal for a seven year old girl. The food is reasonably priced and the staff made a special fuss of us, even presenting us with a box of chocolates to eat after our dinner

We recently went to this restaurant, almost by accident, but ended up enjoying the meal and atmosphere a lot. We particularly thought the staff were excellent and very attentive the decor although old style Chinese was somehow right. the food was of a good standard and exactly what you expect to given. We all enjoyed the crispy duck and all the trimmings and we were given extra pancakes when we requested and although we didn't have a dessert the table next to us mentioned how much they liked theirs.

I went back to this restaurant on Saturday the 21st feb booked in the week for a table for two arrived to see most tables where taken and busy had the prawn crackers and chilli dip which is very nice had the set meal again hot and enjoyable the beers are cold and the wine list to me is very cheap so if you fancy a great meal in seaford with good priced wine then the NEW DYNASTY is the place for you

Tried this restaurant for a takeaway for the first time last night.Cost was >£30 for 2 starters, duck, sweet and sour chicken balls and rice. Ordering the same at our more local takeaway would have cost us almost £10 less! The crispy duck was ok, more meaty than crispy which I appreciate is preferable to some, but not me. The hoisin sauce to accompany the duck was very nice.My satay chicken was very nice - good quality meat and the sauce tasted very authentic, although not very peanut-y.Salted Chilli squid was disappointing, very flavourless batter - it needed seasoning.Sweet and sour chicken balls were (according to my husband) ok, but he was very disappointed by the watery s&s sauce - one of the worst he has had.We only orders from this establishment as they take card payments over the phone, we wanted to enjoy our meal (especially at the price we paid!), but were left extremely disappointed and will not be using this restaurant again.

Visited the New Dynasty for Chinese New Year with my wife and her sister.I just cannot fault this place! david and Mandy were their usual freindly selves.We were give prawn crackers and a chilly dip whilst we waited for our meals.The drinks also arrived quickly.All the meals were piping hot and well presented.We finished every scrap.The coffees were hot and flavourfull. In all a very good experience.We will definitely go back again and again.

love the prawn crackers ! Some of the best I have ever tasted !! We had crispy duck this time, it was ok. Not the best I've ever had, but ok. Main meals are all pretty good , we were a party of 10 and there was plenty of food. Have tried several of their white wines from my visits, wouldn't recommend the house white , or Sauvignon blanc - Macon village seems to be the best so far. Noodles are tasty and rice is good too. Staff attentive and friendly, good to have some English serving staff. To us Seaford seems to have limited choice of where to eat and this is our favourite place to eat in Seaford when we visit family.
