Friendly and tasty, really kind lady who took my order over the phone, picked up the order for collection and was ready in minutes, happy with the prices as this is a quality takeaway spot.

We telephoned and made a large order for 16 people for delivery. The lady taking the order was great, the food was delivered within 30 minutes and was really tasty! There were no mistakes with the order. Delicious!

There was a big group of us ordering for takeaway and the lady took my order with no bother and was very friendly. The food was ready promptly for collection and tasted like real food. My bean curd was delightful thanks!

Got take away that took 1 hour 45 minutes to deliver.scandalous as only 4 miles away. Phoned to complain twice and told we had food that hadn't been delivered.rubbish service.

I think the best chinese ive had ,delivery was fast, food delicious and always piping hot. Lovely service and staff on the phone very polite and helpful.

Was a little concerned after reading reviews but there was no need. The food was delivered within time specified. All dishes were lovely, not greasy like some Chinese. Would highly recommend.

Mixed bag of reviews but despite a lengthy delay in delivery the food was very good - the soups in particular were tasty and every dish was enjoyable.

Asked if I could use toilet after ordering food was told not possible toilets not working , so i casually said to my wife maybe this is why they only do takeaway, a a restaurant should have toilets, only to have the girl behind the till calling me rude ,so I asked for my money back . Avoid.

This was very poor food. The portions were small the tubs were not full. The large pancake roll is not large! The chicken curry was bland with not a lot of chicken. The special egg foo yung was poor, really watery and there was hardly any in the pot. The egg fried rice they forgot to give me so I had to go back to collect which was really annoying. This rice looked like boiled rice with a bit of egg thrown in. It was all very anaemic looking food and not cheap. Very disappointing. The girls serving were very pleasant but would not order from here again.

Crispy chicken was rubbery King prawns were so so Half duck wasn’t crispy. Returned for a new one. They gave me the same one back and still not cooked properly. Returned again and only refunded for the duck. People of Ventnor, stay away from this very bad restaurant

Sadly last night I ordered the battered chicken balls and these were raw and not edible. I havent been able to get through to anyone yet to speak to them.

Great food, very tasty, all fresh. ordered and collected within 1/2 hour. Plenty of choice for all tastes, curry was particulally good.

We had a home delivery take away tonight. Wow! Delicious, amazing meal. I am gluten free and often struggle to find a Chinese meal that will be suitable for my dietary requirements. I was pleasantly delighted to find a good choice of meals and finally decided on the duck with pineapple, egg fried rice, crispy seaweed and prawn crackers obviously sharing with my husband. Absolutely Wonderful meal, so tasty! I totally would recommend this restaurant takeaway! Thank you.

Ordered a takeaway from the New China House restaurant whilst on holiday in Ventnor. Although selecting from the usual choice of Chinese dishes, these were done with a slightly slant - this was tasty well-prepared food. The portions were generous at good value prices. Would definitely recommend this place.

Knew we'd fancy a Chinese takeaway whilst in Ventnor. Having read TripAdvisor comments we ordered from here. All dishes were very good and a little different from our local. We'll be back soon!

Looking for a Chinese restaurant doing delivery while on holiday we found this place. Very reasonable prices, fast delivery and the food was excellent, unlike so many takeaways it actually had real flavour, not bland. Definitely recommend, and we will be using again.

Absolutely amazing. We had a take away as the restaurant is currently closed due to COVID. The food was amazing, vegetables were crisp in the meal and it was really enjoyable. Would definitely eat from there again.

Went last night with friends and had a wonderful evening. The staff are superb and so friendly. Honestly, you couldn't fault the service. We had one of the set meals for four and what i love is that there was one item in it that we didn't like so were allowed to change it for something else. How good is that for service?? My only Mini moan is that it would be good to have hot trays for the food to sit on as it goes cool quite quickly when there's as much food as we had but it didn't detract from the yumminess of the food. Will definitely go again.

The food is very nice and reasonably priced. The restaurant restaurant decor is nice but it is let down with the reused paper tablecloths and fake flowers in vases. if this were changed to linen and real flowers it would have got a 5 review. The wall lights do have cobwebs and dust and could do with a wipe over. The staff were friendly and we would visit again.

Have been here a couple of times now and the food and service is brilliant. The front of house staff are so helpful and friendly and the food is amazing, their satay sauce is to die for!!!!! Does take away too which is a bonus!!!!

Excellent food, would definitely return. Mixed hors d'oeuvres were brilliant, tasty & filling to start with, followed by web fried rice, chicken & mushroom chow mein, sweet & sour chicken balls. All very delightful to eat. Soft drink options could have been better for those that do not drink is my only criticism. Staff were very helpful & friendly.

Definitely a place to eat, having had a sit in meal last week and takeaway this week. Food is piping hot, very tasty and good sized portions. Didn’t have to wait long either in the restaurant or for our takeaway to be delivered.

Stayed local and searched Chinese in Ventnor. What a hidden gem! Freshly cooked excellent Chinese with great service. Best Chinese outside of China town London! Highly recommended!

Went here with friends last night and it was amazing. It must have been taken over 'cos it was so much better than when we went years ago. The food was incredible and the prices are excellent. The New China House in Ventnor is one of the best chinese restaurants/takeaways I have ever used. I have had a sit down meal in their restaurant and used the takaway. .several times . The food and service is excellent. I recommend 100%.

Loved this ! Really fresh and very tasty. Great special house noodles. Lovely duck and pancakes and chicken balls. Not too greasy ....thoroughly recommended.

Dropping in for dinner on a quiet Tuesday evening, we were greeted cordially and invited to sit where we liked. Soon we were the only diners present, although the place kept doing a steady takeout business. We shared four dishes. Beef szechuan (£7.70) included a good proportion of beef but had none of the spiciness of real szechuan cuisine. Mixed seafood with ginger and spring onion (£9.20) included two big shrimp, several mussels, and some squid. It was OK but very light on the ginger. Singapore fried rice (£7.50) had some pork bits but no hint of Singapore-style flavouring. We had been told that Chinese leaves in oyster sauce (£5.80) would be Chinese lettuce, but it turned out to be mostly a big pile of chopped onion with some carrot slices. There was only a tiny amount of lettuce, and no discernible trace of oyster sauce. The whole meal was quantity enough to satisfy two appetites, but was exceedingly bland. Maybe we should have told the server we are not English and enjoy real Chinese spicing? On the plus side, the service was good, and both the dining room and the toilets were impressively clean. We may try this place again, but for now I have to say Dragon Pearl in Shanklin is a much better bet.

Partner and I are visiting Ventnor for a couple of nights and thought we would grab a takeaway whilst the rain is beating down tonight. Delivery was fast and arrived piping hot. Full of flavour, not greasy and big portions with lots of meat. The beef was very good quality and they made my dish extra spicy as requested. If we are around, we will definatetly order again!

Egg fried rice , with a smiddgen of egg, if you had a microscope. Awful dumplings, heavy filled with coarse mince pork yuk. Our dogs enjoyed them! Sweet sickly garlic Thai prawns, cooked in sugar water with some watered down sweet chilli sauce. Don’t know what more to say, usual Isle of Wight poor food offerings

Absolutely wonderful service, delivery and quality for a rather large take away ordered and devoured by sixteen family members at our Golden Wedding get together in Shanklin. Had read some pretty good reviews of this place on TripAdvisor, so my partner and I thought we’d enjoy a Chinese delivery from this restaurant while staying in St Lawrence, Ventnor.

We called ahead and managed to snag a table later that night. I asked about the accessibility and they were very honest. There are a couple of steps outside and the toilet is upstairs but if we could cope with that they'd take our booking.

Got plenty of food for 4 people for ~£30. Very good food too, just what you want from a Chinese takeaway. Generous portions. I had the tofu from the chef specials menu which came with beef and prawns, as well as singapore rice noodles. This was enough food for two people and we had a lot leftover. The food was very quick and the staff were friendly.

Went with my family last night there’s 7 of us, we heard the place is good , but we were still surprised on how actually good this place is.

I really don’t understand why this place was so empty the food was great and the service was fantastic. Expect to pay a little more to eat in but this is the norm. Feeling peckish this side of the island drop in you won’t be disappointed.

Had dinner here with my family last night (table fo 5 people) and we just had the best service and the best chinese food here on the island!! The guy serving us i think his name is “ John “ made sure we’re alright and we have what we need all the time were dining there (very friendly), also the food is excellent! The king prawn in oyster sauce is the best i have!

The food is generally very nice and their delivery in the local area is on time and still hot, but that long brown line in prawns is the poop, and should be removed. They don’t remove them, so I’d say avoid the prawns unless you like prawn poop in your meals.

Best Chinese on the Island, took my Mum for her birthday and we had a fabulous meal would highly recommend and the staff are lovely.

Great customer service, vast variety on the menu, fast and efficient delivery service, portions are always generous and piping hot, great value and will definitely be using again in the future.

Ventnor best Chinese - great menu with all the usual dishes available - eat in or takeaway/delivery the food is always great.

My wife and daughter went for a meal early evening and were shown to a table. Within a reasonable time we were asked what drinks we wanted. We then ordered starters for 3, when the bowls were brought for us they were shoved in front of us as if the were in a rush. The starters arrived and one of them was crispy seaweed for 3 people. Well there was only enough for a small forkful each, the ribs were very tasty as was the satay chicken and the prawn toasts. The crispy duck and pancakes was good and tasty. The crispy beef, rice and vegetables was tasty. By this time all the tables were full and the amount of noise was off putting. For what we had I think the meal was very overpriced.

On a recent trip to Ventnor we visited this restaurant and found the food to be freshly cooked and of excellent quality. The staff were friendly and the price very reasonable.

Takeaway arrived, we always give delivery man a good tip. However this time the portions had been cut, tubs not full. No fortune cookies anymore ;-( Always had a great meal from here but not sure what happened last night.

Sadly the standards have gone down here......As a regular home delivery customer I have noticed some negatives since the ownership has changed. Incorrect order delivered on one occasion, stale prawn crackers delivered on the last order within recent weeks and this evening we had problems actually ordering home delivery. Usually the landline at home gives the restaurant our address but tonight that didn't happen, instead an English assistant promptly handed the call she had just taken to an individual who did not appear to have a reasonable experience of language - he struggled to understand both directions and address, prompting an order being placed at another Chinese restaurant in nearby Shanklin. It was preferable to drive to collect our food rather than take further chances on mistakes.I feel these latest managers/owners will find it difficult to sustain local custom during off peak season. They obviously do not check reviews on any sites, including this, as I have not been able to locate any responses to some of the constructive criticism they have received. Presentation of the restaurant (outside,) is tacky to say the least - with a stretched out piece of net curtain serving as an alternative to the privacy of frosted glass panels (for example,) giving diners some privacy. I have found the food and service in the past acceptable (and on occasion, very good.) but would no longer recommend this Chinese restaurant presently to customers new or old.

Just round the corner from where we were staying, and we had picked up a couple of menus earlier on our first day in Ventnor, so we decided to order a Chinese takeaway on our first night. This turned out to be a good choice as the dishes we ordered were really good, well cooked, and a good price for the size of dish. They also threw in some prawn crackers for free. We'll definitely order again from this one.

We ordered over £30 worth of food to take away, we got home our chicken balls were pink our onions were raw, we also had chicken curry which was pink we rang up to see if we could change them or get our money back and we were told theres nothing we can do and that they wasent bothered by there customer reveiw, customer service outragous we will NOT be going back! Disgraceful.

This is a very basic restaurant decor and atmosphere wise but the food is excellent. We enjoyed satay chicken, ribs, prawn toast, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken, pork in blackbean sauce, roast duck chow mein with egg fried rice and plain rice. The only disappointing part was the plain rice arrived much later than everything else so we had to eat dishes without rice and then it was left at the end as we didn't want the rice on its own.

Walked through Ventnor looking for somewhere to eat and found this place. Another friendly and accommodating restaurant doing dine in as well as take away. Would definitely recommend the food.

We ordered a takeaway Chinese from here whilst staying in Ventnor. We did have to wait for nearly an hour and half for delivery although when it arrived it did taste really good although the portion sizes were a bit on the small size especially the crispy chilli beef

We have used this restaurant for both takeaways and deliveries for many years and the food and service has been consistently good. The management has changed in the last few weeks and unfortunately it is very noticeable.The quality and the quantity of the food since the management has changed has gone downhill dramatically and I am so disappointed as this restaurant has been consistently good. We ordered a takeaway last week which was below average but we thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt but after tonight's poor meal we will not be using them again.

I spent £30 ordered duck got no hoisin sauce with the order and an order of shredded beef a kids portion!! The only good thing about the meal was the pudding!!

Have used this Chinese for some time now. Mostly had my order delivered but on occasion have eaten in the restaurant.

I had to make a account on here just to add a review. Always get funny about trying new places but the food was simply amazing!! Best Chinese food I think me and my partner have ever eaten. Hot chicken curry, special fried rice, chicken balls, chips, curry sauce, chicken chowmaine and spring rolls just for £22!! Amazing value. Delivery was a hour but after tasting the food the wait was worth it! Will definitely be ordering here every Saturday night!!! Thanks to your brilliant food !

having visited ventnor a number of times ,we have always eaten at the other resturants there but decided to give this a go and were really suprised ,although it was quiet in the resturant they were busy with deliveries but that wasnt a problem.the quality of the food was as good as any chinese resturant i have ever been to !

Thought we would try here again as last time two years ago we had awful meal, but hoped that things had improved. Sadly not , it tasted bland, salty and wasn't very hot, my hubby enjoyed his , so I have given a two , but my orange chicken tasted awful, the chow mein had no taste ,very disappointed .

Popped in on the off chance. No other customers and the lady serving also took phone orders. Food was plentiful, though my noodles lacked the promised chillies, they were tasty enough. Companions chicken was tasty and portioned well. Id return.

We eat in here, they were good with helping work around our allergies and very busy with take outs. No need to book if eating in I suspect.The three of us had various mains and a shared starter. All was cooked well and very tasty. Big potions so we went out quite full, unlike after a like of Chinese food. Best in the area I would say.

Our takeaway from New China House consisted of a mixture of dishes; thai curry, sweet and sour chicken, chicken with cashews, etc. Everything was well cooked and very tasty. No issues of note.Be prepared though - the crispy aromatic duck doesn't come pre-shredded.

Food was ok nothing special with lots of onion taking the place of meat. Our son had an omelette which seemed the best value for money. There was only one girl taking phone calls for the takeaway and serving tables meaning everything was rather manic
