Best fish chip shop wellingborough staff lovely. Clean. Good food

Went here for the first time the other day and i have to say out of all the fish and chips i have tried around the area this has been the best by far, staff are friendly, food quality is good even when they were rushed off their feet. The only thing i will say is the battered sausage couldve been crispier as was a bit soggy but like i say they were super busy so no problem. 😁

I always go to Nemo's Chippy, staff are polite and friendly and the food not only tastes good but is worth every penny. Reasonably priced as well - Dont change !!

Exceptional food and service! Genuinely the best chip shop food I've ever tasted and it is extremely well priced for the quality level of the food you get. The staff were polite and helpful and got the order exactly right. The atmosphere was okay but being a tiny and very busy shop there isn't anything they could do to improve that in all honesty

Over from USA visiting friends near Earls Barton. Had takeaway from Nemos and it was superb. Lovely fish, cooked perfectly with chips. Wonderful portions, great service. If I lived in Northants, I'd be there every week! Delicious and very good value for money.

Very welcoming and friendly service

As soon as I walked into the place, the lovely waiter took my order and did it with a smile, she also had lots of patience, even though I was taking quite a long time! The food is amazing, just make sure to ask the people to cook your fish well-done and to get the salt and vinegar chips, always! When I left, they said thank you and I briskly walked out of the shop with a gleaming smile coated over my face.

First Time Trying This Chippy And The Food Was Nice And Warm

Dropped in for some good old UK and chips and was not disappointed. Ordered 2 x small cod which were mighty big piece of fish, medium chips which could have fed 4, and scampi which was about 10. So much food we could not fit all the chips in. Fish was thick and flakey with batter that stayed crunchy. Chips were hand cut not frozen type, best though was oil used was good clean vegetable not they intense flavour animal fat type. All up 21.50 for 2 but could easily have fed 3 adults of 4 kids with the quantity we got. Definitely will go back

Fish and chips is my favourite takeaway and I held out absolutely no hope of getting anything decent in Wellingborough. How wrong I was! Spotlessly clean, friendly service and a real warm, fuzzy feeling when I realised the folk running it were from my favourite place of Madeira. Everybody works fast to get you served and the food is cooked fresh. Beautiful fish and loads of chips. Even my mum had some of the fish and she never touches takeaways! 1st class.

Big portions but food was not great.

Went last night. Food was excellent and good value for money. I have been a few times and the fish is always fresh. Being in the centre of town I don't have to get in my car.

Nemos Fish Bar is simply the best in the area. I travel around 4 miles if I want a fish n chip dinner instead of going to the local trough.

Been going to Nemos for about 9 years now... never had a messed up order, never had a bad experience. Food is great prices great, portion sizes great. Been to a couple of other places when Nemos shut for holidays and the other places don't even compare. It gets busy in there and for a good reason... they're THAT good!!! Only given 5 stars 'cos 6 isn't available!

Always decent service and amazing portions from Nemo's. It has always had a good reputation, and if haven't tried them yet do yourself a favour.

I bought fish & chips to share with my friend this evening. I’m from London where fish and chips of this quality would cost double what I paid, as It cost £8.00 and it was the perfect portion size, perfect for the two of us, that’s for sure. The fish was fresh, and didn’t leave that horrible greasy taste you get with old oil. The chips were chunky, with a good crunch, and everything was still hot enough by the time we stopped at a garage before going back home. Absolutely awesome, I highly recommend, and I’ll go again next time I’m in the area.

Been visiting here for many a year now, and to be honest the food & portion sizes are very good (even left a positive review on here) Now to my updated assessment... Yesterday I dropped in & made an order of around £22, part of this was a children's chicken nugget meal (5 nuggets, chips & a drink), after being prepared the food was checked off into a bag. "Chips, chicken nuggets, blah, blah" then handed to me. I inquired where the drink was, y'know, with the kids meal? I then got snapped at that it was "a chicken nugget meal" that had been prepared, not a "children's chicken nugget meal" ...Oh, okay I thought, never mind about the drink. Would be nice to put it in a little box though, so my daughter at least gets her "children's meal" so I says "can I have a box so I can make it into a kids meal please?" ...Wait for it... "Yes, that'll be another £1!" Absolute jokers! The fella behind me in queues face was a picture too! Way to go Nemo's... Absolutely taking the p*ss!

I asked for some onion vinegar for my chips, which is definitely a London thing because most fish & chip shops in Northants don't seem to have it readily available but they do sell the bottle (btw, The Red Café in Rushden does have it available). I was told by the man serving We don't do that. I asked if he could take some of the onion juice from the pickled onion jar (which other places have happily done for me before). I was then asked Do you want the food or not? And I replied Not with that attitude and walked out. I have never tried their food and never will. Nemo's, if you want returning customers, talk to them with some respect and also have some onion vinegar!

Got small chips, cheeseburger and curry sauce on my break. HUGE portion of chips for 3 ppl, tasty, curry sauce, generous serving and spectacular cheeseburger, tender, all for £6???

Tried various fish and chip shops in the Wellingborough area and have to say that Nemos comes out as the top in our opinion. Also find the people friendly and the portion size probably the largest around, not that that’s important if the chips are no good but in this case they are.

Always a close call picking between Nemo's Fish Bar and Agatha's at Redwell Farm for the best fish & chips in the area. However, over the past couple of years, Nemo's seem to have pushed slightly ahead. Great quality, friendly service and generous servings. P.s. 5:30 - 6:30pm might be the busiest time, but well worth the wait for fish straight from the frier ;-)

Decent fish & chips at a reasonable price.

It's ok. Very busy and the service is top notch. Couple of under cooked chips and the majority were only just cooked. Cod was fresh and well cooked. Her ladyship fancied a Kebab and that was terribly greasy.

My partner visited here last night to pick up a kebab for me and I am pleased to say that he came home with the BEST kebab I have ever tasted. It was a large (a bargain at £6.50) stuffed to the brim with succulent, well cooked doner meat (a far cry from the usual grey, rubbery stuff you get served elsewhere), fresh salad and lashings of thousand island dressing. I can safely say, that I will certainly be partaking in more delicious kebabs from here in the not so distant future! Delicious 😋

Went in ordered chips, beans, pie and spam fritter. She read back the order correctly and was asked to wait outside...fair enough. When I got my order which I thought was a bit more expensive than normal...I got a piece of fish rather than beans and the pie was cold. Not happy....wife's meal was fine
