Negril hosted my friends hen party. Warm and friendly service and the food was unreal! The platters between 2 were amazing value for money. Best saltfish fritters I’ve ever had. Will definitely be back! Thank you

Portions were generous. Curry goat boneless with well seasoned curry. Rice n peas full of coconut. Very yummy. Food came out hot n not too spicy. Only thing that let them down was no kids menu.

Negrils food and service has really dropped as someone who has been coming for for over 10 years it’s so sad

Food and service were exceptional. Was very quiet for a Saturday night which does take away from the ambience. They do have a very nice outdoor seating area as well which if busy, adds a lot to the restaurant.

Literally writing this as I'm sat at the restaurant because I have to sing its praises! Amazing AUTHENTIC food, wonderful service, lovely staff and honestly the best rum punch I've had since Jamaica. Its such a vibe for the summer as it's an open plan restaurant, get your mates and go!!!

Lovely place. The food is nicely cooked with plenty of flavour, but only comment would be a bit more of a kick in the curry would be nice. The staff are really nice and friendly, I would definitely recommend a visit.

Came last night for a meal with friends. Food was spot on as usual! Absolutely delicious, and the rum punch 😍😍😍 Great music playing. Only thing is there’s something about the plain walls that has taken away from its original atmosphere (which was loved) can we bring back the colourful aesthetic? Please? 🥰

Portions were a good size but for a carribean restaurant the food lacked the expected punch of pepper and seasoning flavour almost like it had been watered down also the drink prices need to be reduced

I lived in Brixton for 10 years and this place was my favorite place to eat. Some of the best Jamaican food you'll find in London.

Have been going here for years now. Love the Negril platter! The food is great. The only thing that needs to change is the decor in the restaurant. The tables are always wonky and not stable. Price is also quite high for some of the things on the menu.

Had a lovely sit in meal for 14 people. Food was great and on time. Service was lovely and attentive. The atmosphere was lovely. The pre-ordering was easy and smooth. I would highly recommend.

Negril is a 15 minute walk from Brixton Station. It’s a small Caribbean restaurant with an outdoor seating area. They have a limited menu available and it’s definitely overpriced. I had the Ital Stew (aka stew peas) for £9.95 and the rice is an extra £4. Guinness punch is an astronomical £10. - I have no idea how that price is justified. The atmosphere was on the dry side although very authentic scenery. The staff were friendly.

Great food and huge portions! We took enough food for 1-2 more meals home with us. Loved the ribs, chicken, festival and plantain. Looking forward to going back and tasting more.Homemade ginger beer was delicious but at a fiver a pop it does make you think twice. Also cocktails are £9.50 or £10 which I thought was a bit steep but since the food is good value it kind of balances out.100% worth a visit.

After coming to this restaurant for YEARS, today we had the worst experience we’ve ever had after dining here for many celebrations and occasions with which we’ve always been happy and satisfied. Hence why we always return. This will be our last visit. Said with a heavy heart. We ordered the curry chicken, chicken jerk burger and the vegan bean curry and fish fritters. The flavours were weak and tasteless. What’s happened to the chef!? We liked to visit regularly due to the authentic tastes, flavours and vibes of the Caribbean. Can’t say this now unfortunately. With a change to the menu and staff this is no longer the happy place once loved. 2 out of 3 of our orders were completely wrong. Staff are miserable and unaccommodating. Such a shame. From now on we’ll be visiting ‘Yah So’ in Thornton Heath, where staff are happy, caring and the food great! Fix up Negril because your loyal customers (us) will dwindle! We often book huge tables and guests of over 10 people. We’d be embarrassed to invite people again if that is what you’re now offering. Such a shame! Sad to say this and never thought we would about our old favourite ☹️To top things off, the bathrooms were such a state! Rusty bins and toilets brushes. Limescale all over the taps. Come on!! You have to clean!! That is standard! Especially in a place were humans pay to dine! Yuck!

We had a meal here with friends, nice food and friendly staff and good service. Shame as very over priced for what it is. Outside area nice if the weather is good.

This restaurant kindly agreed to cater for my Son's funeral.They opened specially. I didnt know what to expect, so it was a huge surprise. The restaurant inside is simply furnished; there is an outdoor seating area located away from prying eyes.The food was absolutely delicious, freshly cooked and nicely presented. There was a good variety of food including my favourite dal puri roti.The food may appear, expensive but the portions were big, most of us had to get take away containers. So it was very good value for the money paid.The salt fish fritter starter was a big favourite, a must order.The cocktails were in keeping with the caribbean theme, a little expensive but nice.Everything was faultless. The restaurant was clean and strict hygiene was maintained. Sanitisers were provided on each table.The staff did an amazing job serving our party with love. Everything was served with a smile and a friendly explanation of the dishes. Nothing was too much, even when a couple members of my party mixed up their orders, the staff dealt with it patiently, kindly without complaint. Even the cook made an appearance with a lovely smile to ensure we were happy.I seriously cannot thank Tanya and her staff enough for an outstanding treat. The food and service was faultless. I am happy to discover this restaurant. I am so grateful to have had my event so graciously hosted here during these difficult times. It was a lovely end to the funeral service and my guests have also praised the food. Many of us ordered extra food to take away. I can and will definitely recommend this restaurant. I give them 10/10.No right minded person could find fault with the authentic caribbean food at Negril.

Not enough words to express how much I love this place. The food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Very quick service and very quick deliveries. Definitely the best Jamaican restaurant in London. Can not recommend this enough. Well worth the trip from anywhere in the country!

I’ve been here a few times now and the food is some of the best I’ve had. Service can sometimes be quite slow but it definitely wouldn’t stop me going

The food at Negril is absolutely delicious; it's definitely the best jerk chicken I have ever had and the side dishes are also amazing. Their coleslaw is so good and the sweet potato fries go really well with the spicy jerk dishes. Some reviewers have complained about slow or offhand service but I have only experienced exceptional, friendly and helpful service. I have a deep and personal hatred of music being played loudly in restaurants. I think that they play music inside but if you sit in the garden, you can't hear it and you can talk to your friends without shouting. Extra bonus plus for me; you can bring your dog. Honestly cannot wait to go again.

Visited for my niece's birthday and had delicious homemade ginger beer, salt fish, plantain, jerk chicken. Lovely atmosphere, relaxed and sitting outside on sunny day. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I have now discovered that there is a good Caribbean restaurant in Aldershot near where I live, so will hope to repeat my tastebuds experience again soon!

The food was good and I left feeling satisfied full. Service is a little slow and slightly nonchalant but as I wasn’t in any particular hurry that was ok.

My family and I went to Negril to celebrate my brother’s birthday. The food was good-big portions, very tasty. I had jerk chicken, rice and peas, plantain and coleslaw. Delicious and highly recommend. Just check that they take cards-when we went it was cash only.

I visited here yesterday. The weather was nice so we sat outside. Service with a smile. Asked for drinks and food within a few minutes. The drinks came quickly I had a rum punch which was lovely And then the food came within 10-15 minutes (amazing). I had the Ital salad jerk jackfruit avocado etc. Thank you. Keep it up guys. X

Awesome summer terrace with all the greenery offering shade and quiet from the street noise. Oxtail stew, fried plantains, jerk chicken, all very tasty. The sides are a bit pricey but otherwise the prices are very ok. Many veggie options as well.

Visitamos el sábado por la tarde en pleno poco calor aunque ella estaba casi siendo preparado ella la camarera fue excelente comenzando de inmediato con un bol de agua fría para el perro! Todo lo que comimos era de primera categoría y las costillas y alas eran para morirse. También recomiendo encarecidamente el pollo al curry con salsa extra caliente! Mi elección, me gusta realmente el arroz y guisantes picante eran geniales y también el roti. Buena variedad de bebidas, hicimos el mejor cuidado de los paquetes de ponche de ron de verdad! Hugh and Family. Family booked restaurant for my father's day celebration yesterday. There was six people in our party and we ordered curry platter for two, jerk chicken with rice and peas and plantain, Ital Stew, sea bass and callaloo for mains. We shared cod fish fritters for starters. Drinks ordered were, rum pinch, pina colado, coconut water served in a real coconut.

Negril is our go to. We know what we are getting and it’s brilliant! Just one of the many reasons we are moving back to the neighbourhood. Highly recommended!

Fuimos bastante tarde en la noche y aunque estaba muy concurrido, no tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para una mesa.

La primera crítica negativa que he hecho de un restaurante. Esperamos 20 minutos de haber tomado el pedido y luego se olvidaron de nuestras bebidas, dejándonos esperando una hora antes de la comida con bebidas no llegamos.

I love Negril! I don't know how authentic it is, but I enjoy the food there. Best time to go is on a warm summer night and try to get yourself a table outside. The portions are generous, the ambience was wonderful and the staff are friendly. I have brought several people here and they have also enjoyed it! (even one particularly picky friend!)

Aunque he vivido en la zona alrededor de Brixton por al menos 25 años tengo vergüenza de decir que sólo he comido comida rápida comida para llevar de caribe como pollo adobado, empanadas o festivales. I remember the first time I went here the very first day it opened which was for friends and family of the chef's and it was delish!

We tried a curry platter with oxtail and goat, some jerk chicken, salt fish fritters and rice. Everything was amazing and portions good. Service was a little slow and emotionless from one individual but the other made it up by being so attentive and smiley. Definitely recommend!

Visited on Friday night, unfortunately got a bit lost and was over half an hour late, but thankfully we were able to sit outside and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Lovely staff, certainly earn their money and they did not stop the whole time were there. We had the jerk wings and BBQ ribs to start - delicious - the jerk was so tasty. Curried goat and chicken for main - absolutely delicious - very generous portions. For two with a glass of wine and a bottle beer, came to £50. The toilet facilities were a little basic, but nevertheless would certainly go back.

Very disappointing. Went there with friends. Thought we were going to get the true Jamaican authentic cooking, only to find that the food was very dry and pre cooked and not seasoned well. We could not taste any jerk on the chicken. Also what was disappointing there was not soup on the menu, where in Jamaica there offer this when you go to their restaurants. This could of been a option on the menu. The cocktails were over priced and could of been a lower price for the glass it is served in. I'm sorry but I do not rate this place. There is no carribean feel to it, with no background music outside only inside, no apmosphere. Sorry I will not returning.

Very nice dinner there, staff was very knowledgeable about the products and gave some really good recommendations. One of a the waiter was a little mixed up in the table numbers and confused a few orders but that's not very important and got fixed with a smile. Will be back definitely.

Had the set menu, as our group was more than 8. The choices were limited. We went for the curry platter - curry chicken, curry goat (or goat curry as they called it), rice and peas, plain white rice, roti and salad for two people - £35, cocktails were about £7 each, which was ok, but hardly any alcohol, and lots of juice. Also ordered the homemade lemonade, which tasted nothing like the real thing. Food was generally nice, tasty, but the curry goat was curry mutton, and wasn't tender enough. Thought £4.25 for a side of plantains was a bit pricey considering a whole plantain costs £50p, although the portions sizes were quite generous. Overall, I wouldn't rule out coming again, the restaurant itself was nicely decorated, lovely garden out front, parking ok, staff friendly, although did forget one of our sides.

I went to this place with my boyfriend and his brothers for one of his birthday lunches.We ordered almost everything on the menu,Everything was delicious.The mango salad was gigantec( that's what I ordered) and filled me up, I've never had a salad with sweet mango and I loved it.The gravy was succulent and Im literally thinking about it right now and myMouth is watering.The waitress was super sweet and accommodating.The drinks were very good, the coconut water, directly from the coconut was amazingly fresh and the juices we ordered were very good too.The place is tiny and not the best looking( int he inside) but the food was spot on! I can't wait to go back.

2nd visit .....Attentive service - lovingly prepared food - you could taste it ! Had to take home the leftovers Aa it was so good and so plentiful.... had the saltfish fritters, the oxtail - hmmmm...?the gravy was to die for....

Came here for dinner with family. We ordered pina colada's (£7.50) which were nice but way too expensive for the size of the drink. The small bottle of Red Stripe was £3.95 and the homemade ginger beers were £4.50 each. Even though this was very expensive, they were delicious and had a real kick. For starters we had the saltfish fritters (£5.95) which were a bit too bland, the BBQ ribs (£5.95) for which the sauce was a little too understated and needed to be stronger, the jerk ribs (£5.95) which were nice and had some real heat, and the plantains (£4.95) which were nice. For the mains we had the calypso chicken burger and sweet potato fries (£10.95), the 1/4 jerk chicken with rice and peas and homemade coleslaw (£10.95), a side order of mixed salad (£4.95), the curry goat (£10.95) which was delicious but did not come with anything, so we ordered a roti (£3.25), rice and peas (£4.50) and the callaloo spinach (£4.95). Service of 12.5% was added, so our bill for 4 people came to over £140.00. Service was friendly enough but could have been more attentive, and even though the place was not full had had lots of spare tables they gave us a very bad, cramped table where we kept hitting our heads on the ventilation system. I would go again, but would definitely want to sit elsewhere.

Negril is a authentic Caribbean restaurant in Brixton. Staff are cheerful and welcoming willing to discuss anything on the menu. Their sharing platters are lovely but I tried the braised oxtail and that was very yummy. The portions are big and I personally believe are good value for money-I was able to take my leftovers home. The saltfish fritters are a particular fav along with their detox juice:carrot, apple, ginger and mint. Definitely a restaurant to check out, especially in the summer months.

From the Joyful waitress, engaging staff, beautiful ambiance, outside terrace and the fabulous food! YummmyWe visited Negril on 21st June 2017 and it was like closing our eyes and being back in Jamaica enjoying our wedding/honeymoon. I have heard good reviews about the restaurant and can not believe it's taken us this long to visit! But as they say 'nuttun before di time'We will definitely be visiting again real soon! I went in the night before to reserve my booking for the Friday at 20:15 for four people (07/07/16). I specifically asked for a table outside too. My parents were visiting that weekend and we'd agreed to meet in Brixton on the Friday night for drinks and a meal. My dad who I've been to Negril with previously had specifically asked if we could go there again. My parents had had a long hot drive down to London and had then pretty much come straight to Brixton to meet me. After walking up the hill to work up an appetite, we were all looking forward to sitting down and having a drink and some lovely food. Oh, how disappointed we were. The waitress immediately said that our booking wasn't on their system; despite my going over this twice the previous evening with waitress I'd made the booking with. It did make me wonder if they gave away our table. However, we were not late and I had given a phone number which they could've used to let me know and we would've made other arrangements. Their only consolation was to offer us a seat indoors. Though, it was easily 30 degrees inside and so uncomfortable; I'm surprised people were allowed to sit and eat in there for health and safety reasons.There was also no apology. You can really tell that a place has gotten 'too big for its boots' when it decides to completely forgo any kind of customer service. Never the less, we ended up having a brilliant night at Gremio De Brixton just down the road, so every cloud... People, I wouldn't waste your money.Go to Brixton Village or Gremio De Brixton. You'll get much better service; you'll save money too. It's a shame as the food is decent. I used to come here quite a bit, as I live nearby. I'm not so sure now and I will not be recommending it.
