Neelim in Glasgow City

Really good vibe and the service is excellent. Would highly recommend this place. Warm and welcoming restaurant. The food was not as spicy - a bit bland by Indian/Desi standards - and had a lot of food colouring. However, compared to the rest of the food in Glasgow, this wasn't half bad.

Chicken so tough a can't get a bite off it. Absolutely boggin.

Great place with amazing selection of Indian dishes, very polite and knowledgeable staff.... Atmosphere was good with dim lights and good Indian music.....Food was Better than any other restaurants, but could have been little better......overall great experience.

Best curry in the north west of the city. The family's go-to for all birthday celebrations and when we feel like soemthing just a little fancier. Teatime menu also great VFM.

Best indian we have had ...food was amazing...service prompt ..helpful...nothing was too much trouble...eaten there manytimes but un fortunately we live in Eire...hopefully not too long till we return . 100pc recommendation.

Love this place been coming for years as I live local. Food and service great bit quiet on a Sunday night no worries as long as they survive and stay open.

Always friendly and efficient. Only criticism is the apparent reduction in the amount of chicken in the dishes. Nan breads on the other hand are massive.

Fantastic inexpensive place for Indian food. Always get a takeaway from here but it was a pleasant change to go there with friends for a curry night out.

My meal was amazing. South Indian chilli garlic chicken, boiled rice and a nan bread. Everything was lovely.

Excellent Food. Best pakora I've eaten. We had the high tea menu what great value for money. Big portions too. Food was fresh, hot and very, very tasty. Will definately be back ...just a pity they don't deliver to Livingston. Very friendly staff too and you are not rushed between courses.

Despite being local all my life I'm ashamed to say I'm only a recent convert to Neelim. After an Indian I had used for decades closed I tried a number of different places over a few years. Neelim is the best by far. Truly fantastic Indian food. My wife and I agree its the best around by far. Genuinely wouldn't use anywhere else now. Top class!

I and my wife and friends have eaten at the Neelim about twice a month for some 30 years. In that time the food has been consistently good, the portions are more than ample and the staff pleasant and efficient. For anyone who prefers reasonably priced Indian food of quality rather than a pretentious setting, this is the place for you.

Had a variety of dishes from this restaurant and they have all been fantastic, would highly recommend.

Used the Neelim lots throughout the 90's as was local. Ordered today and wonder why I ever stopped going when I moved away. Lovely Fresh ingredients. Chicken and Lamb cooked just the way we like it. Value for money.

Best chicken tikka in Glasgow by far

My friend lives local and every time I visit we get a takeaway from Neelims, I've yet to be disappointed. We both live the curries from here, my particular favourites are bindi bhaji, made to Madras strength, and tarka daal, again made to Madras strength. Their saag paneer is also excellent. Highly recommended.

Best Indian restaurant with the best food ever. Been to different curry shops with beautiful decor but always come back to Neelim. All meals are so fresh as with the nan just lovely. Also able to share meal as two don’t like full meal after starters. Staff are also very attentive and well mannered.

Some of my family were gathering and decided to have a curry at the Neelim. I was not very impressed with the meal. The table decor was basic; no table cloth, paper napkins etc. My curry was alright but nothing special. Also the portion of chicken was meagre. I also asked for jug of tap water and was given a half pint glass. The surroundings are in desperate need of refurbishment. Therefore, a very disappointing evening for what was meant to be special. I will not be returning any time soon.

We don’t often have Indian carry outs but if we do, this is where we come. Nice lamb korma. Friendly service.

Chefs special starter is a must, with a Naan it is plenty for a main course. One must be veeeery hungry in order to manage a starter and a main. Very good taste ( maybe a bit too much coriander but this is just me not particularly liking the taste of it). Will definitely be back.

About 400 yards from my house - ordered a takeaway duly collected within 15 minutes. While service was friendly enough, £23 seemed expensive among its local peer group, and our high expectations were simply not met. On a positive note, both the spiced onions and boiled rice delivered due to the kick and fluffiness encountered. Unfortunately, with the exception of the lamb bhuna (more garlic and ginger needed), none of the other elements really delivered. Dry chicken pakora and a bland chicken chasni were disappointing, and complemented by an unevenly-cooked naan and poppadoms which lacked crispness.These items simply filled a gap. In short, Neelim's food has to be fresher and more flavoursome to stand out in a crowded and price-sensitive market sector. It has to work on upgrading its offerings in order to ensure any repeat business from me. Such a shame when local options disappoint.

We ordered from the take away menu and had it delivered within 15 minutes of ordering, Great choice of menu as well. We had chicken tikka masala with peshwari naan and basmati rice and a Ceylonese Korma with chapatis. Excellent value and quality and it was enough for the following night as well.

Friends took us for an early evening meal and it was amazing. Food excellent all freshly cooked. Fantastic staff, felt like one of the family and that was our first visit. Won't be our lasdt though

Ate here as we had family visiting from down south have had few good take aways from here in the past so we decided to drop in for dinner as it was local and suited everybody. The service was extremely slow to the extent of being nearly non existent. And it seemed as though if you werent a regular or wanting a tale away they werent interested. Starters were very good, however main courses were below average, not that hot and they had got our order wrong. I would seriously reconsider now weather I would eat here again.

El miércoles pasado, yo y tres amigos fuimos a cenar a este restaurante. Qué delicia de principio a fin, no es un error, el servicio fue excelente con los dos miembros del personal proporcionando una excelente orientación para el menú. El plato de verduras pakora era relleno fresco y sabroso la salsa mojar era como una salsa de moda llena de sabor. El pollo tikka parsee Bhuna con arroz frito realmente golpeó el clavo en la cabeza acompañado con un gran ajo naan este pequeño conejito estaba feliz y completamente satisfecho. Volveré, que es pan comido, volveré muy pronto. A la salida compré una pakora de verduras, chicken poori y el yaan garlic antes mencionado, mi esposa estaba encantada y sobre la luna. Bien hecho Neelin. . . . . .

Neelim is a proper curry house. It had an excellent selection on the menu and the curries are very high quality. we even got free ribs.. not sure why.. but thanks anyway. will be a regular user now. Josh

Delivery was changed to 25 mins later than original time then was an extra 5 mins late. Driver was friendly. Food was good so overall would use again.

Got chicken chaat. Then butter chicken masala with rice. My husband picked it up the food was ok I've had better. But the man in the restaurant is extremely rude & offensive he was very cheeky to my husband and I personally would have walked out without taking the food. Won't be back

Tandoori mixed grill was excellent!

Chips were a bit soggy but everything else was excellent

Siempre tendrás una comida fantástica en aquí! Para llevar y entrega en el punto de inicio es demasiado. Nos encanta o currys y después de ser criados con el shish mahal y 2 a lo largo de la carretera de ashokas me he estado muchas opciones para elegir, pero este lugar es realmente el mejor. Deliciosa, deliciosa y el servicio es fantástico.

Didn't like the fish pakota, batter wasn't crispy and sauce was poor. Nan bread was also poor. K.prawns were decent but overall​ not the best meal. Delivery was quick but that answers my concerns about the food quality.

I had been in the mood for a Good Lamb Curry , made the way I wanted it . I ordered The ' Karahi without Green Peppers : Lamb ' - and what arrived was a Dark Fluorescent Red( Over-kill with Food Colouring ! ! ! ) CHICKEN Curry , and WITH PEPPERS . This was DEFINITELY NOT what I Ordered . . . A Very Poor Effort that ruined my evening . . .

Food was good except the naan bread, had ordered garlic but got plain. Service was fine and order was ready at collection time. Would definitely order again.

El pollo a la mantequilla era bueno, pero nuestra cordero tikka pardesi basto y comimos cordero tenía los langostinos - muchas gambas! ! Mi pareja odia así que no pudimos comer mariscos. Me revienta porque pensamos que habíamos encontrado nuestro nuevo favorito para llevar. Esto también es una preocupación, ya que si uno de nosotros tenía una alergia a mariscos que podría haber sido un desastre como las gambas parecía pequeño chilies rojas hasta la inspección más cerca. Qué salió mal?

After going to collect took over an hour for food to be ready as 'your ticket didnt go to the kitchen' staff were rude and unapologetic

We ordered a lamb tikka pardesi - there were prawns in it! Not just one - full of prawns!! The lamb was also tough. Really disappointed as my partner hates seafood so couldn't eat any. This is also a concern if one of us had had an allergy so worth a formal complaint. The butter chicken was good but overall we are gutted because last time we ordered it was superb.

Food delicious as always, never disappoints and always delivered before stated time. This is why Neelim is my favourite restaurant.

Absolutely terrible, I doubt it was actually lamb and nowhere in the description did it state that shrimps/ prawns would be combined in the sauce. I will discourage anyone to order from Neelim and will happily share my experience with anyone I speak to. I had to reheat everything, the only thing positive was the fact it was delivered promptly.

I love Neelim for all i have had in the past but this did not live up to their usual, chicken nice but not great, did not like rice? Is there a temp chef or a new chef?

our regular home delivery place for many years and swore by them for food, delivery and value but sadly we cannot say that now portions were getting smaller although we complained a few times still they got smaller food arrived at bottom of bags containers did just not contain the sauce we thought maybe a new chef and accidents happen but month after month it just went downhill and we no longer order from them a real shame it was so good for many years and its sad to see it go so bad now
