Nazmins in Islington

I had the most delicious curry takeaway from Nazmins last week. A chicken and lamb madras with rice. Just lovely, loads of succulent meat and the sauce was amazing. Highly recommended.

Yummmm!!! Just got my first take out from here and it is TASTY!!! The lamb curry is delicious, sauce is perfect, lamb is soft, plenty food - chickpea curry is very tasty as well.. And I love my curries so I'm rather fussy - this place is a gem, so glad we tried it out, will definitely be ordering again :)

Ordered delivery, advised it would take 90 minutes (which I imagine most people will agree is a long time) but it did not show up. Tried to call and there was no way to reach them. Asked for an update through JustEat to be told it will be a further 30 minutes. It arrived 45 minutes later. Over 2 hours after we ordered. Asked for money back because of the delay and was given a derisory £3. Embarrassing and insulting. I srill haven't been able to contact the restaurant directly to discuss it because their phone number doesn't go through to them.

One of the best curry's in London we have ever had! The service was great as always, would highly recommend!

Waste of a journey.Heard of their award and waited ages to go there. I booked for just me and asked for a table away from the door, had enough of the cold and draughts.( not the beer kind).So I took a taxi to visit and was greeted and seated... behind the glass plate next to the door. But that’s maybe ok as they have 2 glass doors.Ordered a Kingfisher which was cold (as lager should be) and delicious, but as I was half way through, and before ordering, they decided to seat a few people, greet, take temp, insist on hand gel use, and serve a few take away guys all with both doors open. Now I’m too cold and asked for the bill to leave. They told me I should have asked for a table at the back where they just seated the others. I thought I did when I booked.So how is their food? No idea. Will never be able to tell you as I wouldn’t be going back.

Starving hungry but I cannot bring myself to order from here again. Ordered a prawn curry, sag aloo and pilau rice. My prawns were tiny and hadn’t been cleaned of poo. Sauce was very watery and tasteless.

Probé una comida para llevar durante el encierro. En general, una comida razonable. Entrante de pollo tandoori sabroso. El cordero vindaloo tenía un calor decente, pero no mucha profundidad de sabor. Bhaji de hongos bueno. Arroz pilau muy decepcionante, más una especie de papilla, posiblemente por cocinar demasiado. Muy buen peshwari nan y salsas. Raitha bien, pero se habría beneficiado de la adición de cebolla o pepino. Entrega rápida. Según esta evidencia, algo detrás de Akash en términos de conclusiones locales.

Had Nazmins delivered via Uber eats. The food was very poor quality. Dry chicken. almost stale nan - seemed like they weren’t made fresh and too clumpy. Really disappointed with all dishes- sticking to delivery from Holy Cow from now on.

Enjoyed a very good takeaway from Nazmin's. It arrived promptly, food quality is good and large portions. Delicious garlic naan bread especially! Would recommend for a local Indian delivery and looking forward to trying the restaurant.

The food was excellent and all of us enjoyed every single dish. The naans in particular were really delicious and light and the best I have had in ages. The portions are on the large side (more poppadoms than we could eat!) so we will definitely order less next time. It was a little on the more expensive side than other Indian restaurants but given the quality of the food and portion size that is to be expected. The one downside was the service - it took ages for our order to be taken despite asking on a couple of occasions and the service we did receive was not particularly friendly. I think it was probably to do with the restaurant being busy and inundated with delivery drivers. I was a bit off putting to have a stream of drivers in bike helmets coming past your table and the staff appearing to prioritise meeting takeaway orders rather than serving their restaurant guests.

Mi esposo y yo fuimos a Nazmin's. Para empezar, tuvimos cebolla bhaji y samosas. Este bhaji de cebolla estaba seco, el camarero nos dijo que era una nueva receta para hacerlo más crujiente y el pesebre dijo que se suponía que estaba seco. Para los platos principales que tenía gambas, la masala mía estaba bien, mi esposo tenía pollo Bhuna, su comida estaba fría. También probé el pesebre, luego me acerqué y puse su mano sobre él por un minuto si hacía calor, no habría podido hacer esto. Él fue muy grosero con nosotros al insistir en que estábamos equivocados e inventamos mentiras y gritaba, así que todos nos miraban, fue muy injusto cómo nos trataron, no es cómo los clientes deben ser tratados decepcionados en toda la situación. No solo la respuesta a la revisión de mi esposo, resume la comida en pocas palabras.

Después de mudarnos a Earlsfield, pasamos la mayor parte de la semana probando los restaurantes y pubs locales, la mayoría han sido geniales. Lamentablemente, esta noche fue el turno de Nazmin. Pedimos que comenzaran popadoms junto con bhajis de cebolla y samosa vegetal. Cada uno estaba frío y lo enviaban de regreso, el mesero se acercó para ver si todo estaba bien. Dije "samosa estaba bien, pero los bhajias no eran muy agradables. Habíamos pedido una masala de gambas y un pollo Bouna. Desafortunadamente, el mío (el pollo estaba frío) dije con mucha calma que este era el caso solo para ser confrontado con enojo por el "dueño" sugiriendo que estaba hablando basura y que en sus palabras "estaba tratando de decirle cómo cocinar su cocina" absolutamente horrorizado por este restaurante, ¡mantente bien despejado!

Pretty good Indian, have some lovely fresh meal options. Takeaways are pretty quick, often give you bonus papadums or vegetable dishes which is nice! Staff sometimes slightly churlish if that bothers you.

So I just ordered a take away from just eatMy daughter only wanted a naan bread.I ordered curry and extras. Delivery came however it was garlic naan. Phoned nazmins and within 15 mins plain naan delivered with added extra complimentaries Top curry top service.

Really tasty curries with a big menu and lots of specials. Good selection of beers and very friendly staff.

Normalmente vamos temprano en la noche antes de que esté lleno de gente y siempre hemos tenido deliciosa comida, bebidas y buen servicio en un ambiente agradable. La razón por la que no he revisado antes es porque ha sufrido una o dos revisiones falsas recientemente, pero veo que ahora se ha eliminado. No me sorprendió ver que Nazmins ganó recientemente el "Mejor restaurante" en los Premios Curry locales, y también es finalista en los Premios locales de tiempo y ocio.

Visit this restaurant often and have never had a disappointing meal. I am particularly fond of their Naga curry, which is both very spicy and flavourful.

I had heard that this restaurant had been around here for years, so assumed it would be amazing! However after visiting nazmins, the staff were horrible and the food was so bland. I won’t be coming back here again!!!!

I used to travel down and eat at Nazmins as a regular customer. Ever since the ownership has changed everything has gone down hill from there! First the food is horrible and bland! Before the quality of Nazmins food was amazing, it's so disappointing to see how much has changed drastically! Next, is that they call themselves a halal restaurant but they sell alcohol! if you are halal you wouldnt be selling alcohol would you! another thing is the behavior and customer service - absolutely horrible and downright rude! especially the main waiter!

My Girlfriend and I have been coming to Nazmins for a few years and have had nothing but amazing food and excellent service. The onion Bhaji are especially good. Also, the waiter Mohammad was brilliant.

Such incredibly flavorsome food and lovely staff. Mohammed was a really great waiter who gave us history of the restaurant and great food suggestions. We have never been disappointed. Even when we order to takeaway they are very accommodating and allow me to bring my own containers in order to reduce plastic. Lovely place, lovely atmosphere and a proper family run Indian.

Lovely local curry place in Earlsfield. Lots of good options on the menu. Their nans are nice and fresh from the oven. Staff is friendly.

My friend and I visited this restaurant and we were both extremely happy with our experience. The decor and atmosphere were lovely. The staff were helpful and polite. I would return here any time.

We ordered a delivery and it came very quickly, however they got our order wrong and gave us pilau rice twice instead of white rice. Anyway my prawn curry was very bland and I noticed the prawns hadn't been cleaned..... I called them and asked if they knew about cleaning the prawns and they told me it was company policy to NOT clean the prawns ...

Very tastey, high quality, awesome food. Very friendly staff, great service. We will definitely return soon. This will become our regular place.

Nazmins was always a regular for us when we lived locally. Apart from the warm friendly welcome we always received the food is outstanding. After 9yrs living abroad we payed a visit back to Nazmins with a group of friends to happily find the restaurant was still of a high standard. Thank you to everyone at Nazmins if only we still lived locally. Can't wait for our next visit

Nazmins has had a resurgence after a bit of a bad period. Not perfect and some other locals I prefer but this was good and feel like they are really back on track. Nice one!

I regularly order from this restaurant as the food is delicious. They always deliver quickly and the staff are friendly. I recommend it. The chicken madras especially is excellent.

My favourite indian restaurant, great food, great service, just celebrated my Birthday ,they made my day memorable ,will be back for our anniversary in few weeks,Thank you guys. xxx

This restaurant serves relatively tasty food, but on a recent visit yet again the service was rude, inattentive and frankly unacceptable.

Researched this placd as have had trouble finding a decent local curry house. Total let down the wait for delivery was ridiculous..... half hour after eta rang restaurant to find out where food was? They claim a driver came and there was no answer which is just lies! If you're too busy to take delivery orders then don't take them! Ruined Friday evening Thanks Nazmins! Ps only gave 1 star because you can't give zero!

When approaching the restaurant there is a big sign on the window saying you can bring your own alcohol. What the sign does not tell you is there is a hidden corkage charge of £3 PER PERSON when you do this. On top of this, there is 10% added to the bill as a (discretionary) service charge.

Since the restaurant halved in size it has definitely gone downhill.Service was shambolic, they tried three times to bring us someone else's starters after we'd finished our own.We were in no hurry but several other parties complained about the slow service.We've avoided while they had no license. Now BYO with £3/head corkage, though they don't provide wine cooler etc, you have to ask.

Just like a lot of other reviewers, I've been coming here for many years and, post refurb, the food is both more expensive and has gone from being very good to average at best. That they no longer sell alcohol makes it just that little bit worse still.

This restaurant has now changed hands it was going downhill maybe that's why it was sold.to be honest it has now got worse .my wife and I went or a meal hoping for a nice night WOW how wrong can one be.The chicken was burnt the popadoms where soft and to cap it all they only serve soft drinks Ho they have also started charging service charge I hate that being charged to bring you food even when it has to be paid for cafes don't charge so why do restaurantsIt's wrong it only god in the pockets of the owner

Honestly please just don't order here it's the worst food I've ever tried and the owner is a piece of work. I won't even write my actual experience here because you won't believe it but as for the food there's way better places locally however, if you like sugary, watery, bland, badly prepared food (not even going to call it Indian) then maybe you will like it - if you can handle the bad service that is !

This place has gone downhill since the refurbishment. Other reviews already say this, but the place used to be packed on a Friday but the last times I've been mine has been the only table in there.The food isn't as good as it was, and it was my favourite Indian restaurant before so it is very disappointing to me.I also don't feel comfortable ordering- it always seems like the waiters are judging you, and I'm not sure why as I've never been there with anyone being offensive and all we've done is order the food. Nothing out of the ordinary and nothing I can think of that someone could take the wrong way. I guess it's something food related, but if they think my choices are strange (for whatever reason) I'd rather they either came out with it or just kept their feelings hidden instead of creating that odd judgemental atmosphere. In general the staff just seem utterly morose, I'm sure the service used to be much better.

I visited with four friends. No alcohol is a bit of a kicker but you really can't complain as they tell you at the door.Prawn purée to start, it was horrendously sweet. It was almost a jam or a sweet and sour sauce that accompanied the prawn. For mains I had the masala which again was almost too sweet to eat. I know it's not a hot curry but it shouldn't be sickly sweet. My friends had hot curries and they were the same. Looking at other reviews it seems this is regularly complained about so I'm not alone. Is this a desert restaurant masquerading as a curry house?Never again, I'm afraid.

This used to be my favourite place to eat Indian food in London. I've been coming there well over 10 years - roughly once a month, as food was very, very good.Now that the place was refurbished, it looks a bit more modern and this is the only positive I can tell.The food was just shockingly bad. All the dishes were tasteless and done different to what we got used to there. There is no alcohol there anymore, so one cannot have a pint of Cobra or Kingfisher with a curry... And to top it off - the bill was shockingly high - over £90! We've never spent more than £60-70 for with a couple of beers and a glass of wine for a dinner for 4.This was certainly the last time we went there as it felt like we were cheated on. The place was nearly empty on Saturday night, while up until the recent refurbishment we would have needed to book or wait an hour or more to be seated. Good riddance Nazmins, you blew it royally!

This was always a mediocre curry house at best. Now it's half the size after a refurb & there's no alcohol licence... so you can't have a drink with your curry. It used to be impossible to get a table booking here on a Friday night, now it's empty. Coincidence? Nope.

Food is still good but not being able to order a beer with your food is not great. Beer is an essential ingredient of a good curry.

Huge portions,great quality food, especially the grilled, decent price, Highly recommended, will be back very soon.

been looking for a decent curry house in south london so discovered Nazmins , absolutely outstanding food and service, we will be back !

Sat there for ages on Saturday night after being seated, order for poppadoms taken after 15 minutes, with waiter saying he would be back to take our full order...this took at least another 30 minutes . We gave up... The clever tablet ordering system has gone along with the liquor licence and any semblance of customer service. Takeaway orders all seemed to be leaving the restaurant in plenty of time. The poppadoms were passable.....

Visited Nazmins after a few months only to be amazed at the transformation , the place is now very modern and food is even better and now prepared in front of you, will recommend !!

After good meals here up until now I was looking forward to another meal here. The place has obviously changed hands, the restaurant has shrunk, the nifty ordering tablets have disappeared and the liquor licence has gone. Disinterested waiters took order for poppadoms and mineral water after a 15 minute wait, main order not taken for another 15minutes. Starters came out after minutes and were greasy (pakora were also soggy) and bland. After an hour and ten minutes we enquired as to the whereabouts of our mains......you could see through to the kitchen and nothing resembling our order was being prepared, merely a dozen or so takeaway and delivery orders being rushed through. We paid and left after the poor starters. Table next to us had been waiting even longer. Nazmins was once a well kept secret, but now it's just plain nasty.

Visited for lunch midweek and we were only couple there service was first class. They have made their restaurant smaller since we last visited and it has meant they are more aware of their diners and more responsive to their needs. The food was tasty with ample portions, meat well cooked and sauces rich. Usual range of curries on offer. I would recommend as one of the few Indian restaurants that is open at lunchtime.

Had a good night out in this curry house. The waiter was really friendly and there are even little tablets on the tables that allow you to see what your food will look like before you order! Tried the prawn purriwala, which I'd never seen before, and was not disappointed. Hopefully will go back soon.

Been coming to nazmins for years and have always loved the food,and staff are always very pleasant. But recently the food seems to have changed, very greasy and the chicken in certain dishes is very dry. Not happy with the new rule of not serving alcohol when they open the new side, you have curry and a beer or a nice chilled glass of wine. Won't be the same when they stop serving alcohol.

great food as usual , been coming since 1966, beautiful place ,friendly staffs, never disappointed, try Namak Handi lamb and Rogonwala. Highly recommended.

Very good food but have introduced I pads to order with. Any personal service gone and is now like a takeaway in a restaurant....an impersonal move and lazy in my view. Get good waiters to talk to customers.....a much nicer experience.

Up until recently Nazmins was our favourite local restaurant, however after tonight's visit I fear this my change. Firstly, having to order on computer tablets seems ridiculous and a bizarre attempt at bringing change, when change wasn't needed. What's wrong with a bit of interaction with a waiter?? More worrying was being told that once the current building works are complete the restaurant will operate out of a much smaller site and will no longer be serving alcohol. Surely, they should reconsider this! Personally my favourite local curry without a beer just wouldn't work and I for one wouldn't come again.

Food here is beautiful we go regularly never disappointed. Staff are very nice always book as at weekends can get very busy. Haven't tried takeaway.

Simple curry house that gets everything right and gives you a classic curry. I cant speak for people who go for phals or vindaloo and the super hot stuff but the food is tasty. I go regularly and it never disappoints.

It's not my first time visiting Nazmins , I can recommend this place to all my family and friends with out a doubt the best in South London!!

Asked for a table for one. The dirty look I got from the guy behind the counter was incredibly disheartening. I turned around and walked out. The food is good here that's why I wanted to eat here again. Shame about the awful service I just received. I even called them earlier in the day to see if it was OK to come in on my own.

Definitely gone down hill recently - they must have changed the chef. Normally you can't go wrong with chicken tikka masala, but this was bright orange food colouring with so much sugar, you couldn't taste anything else. What really annoyed me though was that when I told them after maybe they should look at their recipe they poo-hooed me and said maybe I should have had one of their speciality curries. I got the feeling the CTM might even have been a frozen bulk bought version and not even home made. Any supermarket does a far superior product which is a sad thing to say about a proper indian restaurant The rest of our dishes were also poor, but at least they have stopped their hovering around you, putting your napkin on your lap and filling your wine glass every couple of minutes.

After a few years away from London my husband and I returned and were delighted to find Nazmin's was still as good as ever! We dined here with 6 friends and every meal was delicious, the ingredients are always so fresh and tasty and the wine ice cold! Service was very good too! We look forward to returning again on our next trip to the UK in the coming years!

I love Nazmins we have been coming here for 20 years. My favourite is the Chicken Tikka Masala, its so creamy and the chicken is cooked to perfection so succulent . Staff are tentative and the restaurant is nice a roomy however does get really busy, Well worth a visit.

I had high expectations because there's a sign hanging outside saying that they won a restaurant award in 2014. Unfortunately, my favourite dish - prawn puree, was awful. It tasted like sweet & sour prawns from the Chinese next door. The other dishes were average.

This restaurant has a real diversity of reviews so we went there not expecting great things. This was Thursday, around 19:30 hours and we hadn't booked. The restaurant was about a third full - more than we'd expected - but, like many restaurants, they seem to want everyone to sit in the same area and not spread out. We asked for another table and after checking with presumably the manager we were shown to a much better more secluded table. The menu offers mainly routine BIR Indian food with a few exceptions. We decided to skip starters but my wife had two poppadoms . Looking for something different, we ordered chicken captain patilla (never seen that before), a Nazim's special, sag aloo, mator paneer and two pillau rice (some strange spellings there but taken straight from the menu). They have no draught lager so we had two large bottles of Cobra. Reading the reviews, the time waiting for your food and the attitude of the staff have been issues for some people. We were pleasantly surprised on both counts. Despite the restaurant filling rapidly, our food appeared quickly and was delivered courteously and attentively. My first impression was the portions were small but that proved to be wrong as we only just managed to finish everything. The food was very tasty. My only issue was the paneer came in a coconut sauce - never seen that before - which I found a bit sweet. The waiters checked everything was OK and were generally very friendly. The bill was £55 including 10% service, probably a bit expensive but we were ordering the specials. When we left about 21:00 hours the restaurant was much fuller but there were still free tables.All in all, a pleasant evening that turned out better than we'd expected.

Myself and a group of my work colleagues attended dinner at Nazmins recently. The food was excellent and the staff very accommodating. The take-away menu was also excellent and presented. Thoroughly recommend.

Had a takeaway delivered from here on Sunday, had chicken tikka masala, rice, nan bread, mushroom barje, extr chicken for £18 found the meal to be nice we have had better mushroom barjes but would order from here again, also told delivery 45 mins delivered ontime. The meal was large enough for the two of us.

We had a distinctly average takeaway from here but decided to give the actual restaurant a go, hoping the takeaway was a fluke disaster.The restaurant meal was absolutely terrible.My chicken was pink and inedible, the naan bread was burnt and chargrilled underneath, again inedible. There was no effort to check the quality of the food throughout the meal and no effort to rectify it afterwards. Service was very sloppy and food is a health hazard. There were 4 x main meals and all were well below par. Thoroughly recommend that you do not dine here.

"I am submitting this as I submitted it to Nazmin's website but after a week have heard nothing back. It is written in the first person and is fairly self-explanatory I have been ordering from you for years. The way I was treated on Saturday night was so unacceptable I am writing to you for one last attempt before I write critical reviews to Hardens, Trip Advisor and anyone else who might convince you to stop treating your faithful customers like fools. I ordered delivery from you on Saturday evening at 7pm. I was told it would take 40 minutes. At 8.30 I called to ask what the delay was and the man I had made the order with told me it would be better to come and collect it. I asked him why he had a. Said 40 minutes and b. Not called to let me know. I asked for the manager and he said that he would ensure to deliver it "in two minutes". At 9pm - two hours later - the food arrived. Ironically the chit – which I still have – stated my delivery was “estimated for 20:12hrs. I had a business client at home for a casual dinner. When I unpacked the starters I realised the usual dip for the Onion Baji was missing. I called back and the man simply said "Sorry, there is nothing I can do". I then unpacked the rest and found one of the main courses was missing, specifically the one I ordered for my client. I called back, now angry, and was again told “sorry”. I asked "what are you going to do about it?” and was told that they would get me a replacement "in 30 minutes". I asked to speak to the manager. I was told "he is too busy". I stopped off at Nazmins to ask for the manager at 6pm. I was told he would be in at 6.30pm. At 7.30pm my wife called and was told he was not working today. It feels like your staff are basically avoiding their responsibility and hoping by lying to me again and again I will go away. Rest assured I have fought greater battles for less. I am a consumer who deals with his own clients with respect. After a hard day I expect the same when I buy a service. I would have accepted an apology but this has been compounded and aside from my consumer right to at least a refund for what was not delivered I expected at least a decent response. As stated, I will not expect to hear from you since your customer service is clearly lacking. I will never again use your restaurant and intend to ensure that the local and online community are in a position not to have their own evening ruined the way mine was because you believe it is fine to treat your clients in this manner."

I got the chicken korma with egg fried rice and peshwari naan and it was delicious! Great service and really nice touch with the hot towels after our meal. Quite pricey but would still go again.

I wrote this to their website after I was completely messed about by them. This is my only was of exercising my consumer rights without suing them. I dont want to waste any more time by adjusting the mail I sent via their website so please take it in the first person as it was written. I believe it is fairly self-explanatory. The way I was treated on Saturday night was so unacceptable I am writing to you for one last attempt before I write critical reviews to Hardens, Trip Advisor and anyone else who might convince you to stop treating your faithful customers like fools.I ordered delivery from you on Saturday evening at 7pm. I was told it would take 40 minutes. At 8.30 I called to ask what the delay was and the man I had made the order with told me it would be better to come and collect it. I asked him why he had a. Said 40 minutes and b. Not called to let me know. I asked for the manager and he said that he would ensure to deliver it "in two minutes". At 9pm - two hours later - the food arrived. Ironically the chit – which I still have – stated my delivery was “estimated for 20:12hrs. I had a business client at home for a casual dinner. When I unpacked the starters I realised the usual dip for the Onion Baji was missing. I called back and the man simply said "Sorry, there is nothing I can do". I then unpacked the rest and found one of the main courses was missing, specifically the one I ordered for my client. I called back, now angry, and was again told “sorry”. I asked "what are you going to do about it?” and was told that they would get me a replacement "in 30 minutes". I asked to speak to the manager. I was told "he is too busy". We had a family meal at this restaurant where do i start we ordered our drinks andstarters which took about half an hour to arrive children getting restless and no one came to say sorry for the wait ,staff not very friendly and they spoke in their own language to eachother all evening how rude.he main dishes took 2 hours to arrive what a joke and really bad service from unfriendlystaff and tiny portions .We have eaten better quality food in a local buffet .Please dont waste your time coming here we arrived at the restaurant at 7.30 and ourmain came at 9.30. we have since read on trip advisor so many bad reviews one which really surprised stating their star rating was only 2 stars when a good restaurant has 5 stars.This place is an utter joke which is overpriced for what you get we spent over £200 Pounds here and we feel totally ripped off,never again.

Love this takeaway! Prices reasonable, quality is consistently good (I've never had a curry I didn't like) and I've always found the staff to be gracious and polite. Reading past reviews yes the korma is quite sweet by korma standards but it is incredibly tasty too!

Ate here a couple of weeks ago and the food was really delicious. The staff were friendly, but were unable to help me when I queried what foods contained a certain allergen. It is now the law that either the menu or server is able to assist with allergens and these guys need get on board. As it was, I very much felt like I was 'risking' eating here, luckily was fine.

We have been to Nazmins on several occasions and so last night ordered a takeaway. All the food was disgustingly sweet from the Naan bread to the Korma to the Paneer Masala. Are they substituting MG for sugar? I have never written a restaurant review before, but the quality of the food was laughable and truly horrible.
