Nazma Tandoori Ellon in Aberdeenshire

We had the platter starters which was amazing presentation and delicious. We then had mains of 5 different curries with mushroom and rainbow rice. This is by far the best Indian in the north east we have been to and will most definitely be back monthly. The service was spectacular we did not have to wait longer than even a few minutes for anything. 10/10 service and food and will be back very soon!

This place is very good for people that live locally and the food tastes very nice my favourite dish is the chicken coma with coconut rice and I Specially like the staff That are very helpful for when it comes to me my brother and wheelchairs the access is great.

The restaurant was recommended during our Ellon visit and we were not disappointed. It was suggested that we should share a starter plate and order the main course. This worked out well. The food was excellent and we were looked after very well. The owner was cheerful and chatty. A pleasant evening.

After eating portuguse Indians for the last 10 years with no flavours Had this indian in the nazma was yummy . Starter we had onion bhaji And lamb shish kebab. Main course south Indian garlic chilly chichen . Lamb rogan josh Special fried rice And garlic naan Best romantic josh I've had in a long time . And my husband south Indian garlic chilly was hotter than he remembered but yummy

We were a party of 16. Great service, and the food was superb. We all thought it was great food and great value.

Exceptional food and wonderful service as always at the Nazma. I used to go to the Nazma on Bridge Street in Aberdeen and was disappointed when they closed, but delighted that the Ellon restaurant is still open. Lovely people and lovely food.

We have had take away from here a few times now, and every time it has been really really good, food and service is excellent.

We keep coming back for the excellent food and warm, friendly service. It is easy to book a table online. The decor is more modern than most similar establishments, which we like. We only had a main course each with one rice, one naan and one side between us and could not quite manage to finish it all!

Been a customer of Nazma for years used to use there Inverurie branch which closed but now travel a round trip of 68 miles to Ellon can't say anymore as to how good there food is..

First time I've tried the food here and it was excellent. Sometimes I find if you order in the week the food is not as good as the weekends but even on a Tuesday the food was great 😋 My new favourite place 😍

Food is always excellent, and there's never a wait for food. Service is very good.

Bought a take-away rather than dining in the restaurant, so cannot comment on atmosphere. The food was absolutely excellent and the portions were generous. We even had three poppadom sauces thrown in to our order for free. The meal was ready exactly at the time I said I wanted to collect it. Price was decent too and the service was friendly and courteous. I did find the online ordering a bit of a challenge, until I worked out how to use it, so in future, I reckon I will just phone in an order.

We haven't booked a table, and we just walked in they have a table available for us.. ordered papadoms to share and two main courses: King prawn biriyani and a chicken korma.. the food was served piping hot, service is really good my only complaint are my prawn was overcooked and not much ventilation as when U go out your clothes will smells like your food 🤭😄 .. the food is delicious, can recommend, and would come back again .

Stopped in by Ellon for food heading back home from Dyce. Didn't have a reservation and was hoping being mid week there would be a table for two. (Recommend reservation for the weekend) We were welcomed and taken to our table. The menus were given and we were asked if we required drinks. I always have Cobra beer, I wasn't disappointed a large and extremely cold bottle was given, heaven! We were asked if we required poppadoms, as we weren't having starters we said yes. Two large poppadoms were served with yoghurt, onions and mango chutney which were very tasty. For the main courses we ordered a North Bengal Fruity chicken which was a mild fruity dish, with pilau rice. A very tasty dish not too sweet! The other main was a Bengal King Prawn Biryani which was also very nice and tasty which I asked not to make it too spicy. We didn't have any desserts on this occasion, but maybe on our next visit. We would recommend giving this restaurant a try if you are an Indian food lover or someone who wants to give it a try. Thank you!

This restaurant is absolutely an amazing place. my brother had a spiced lamb biryani and he has said it is the best one he has had. The lamb was melt in your mouth tender. I had a spiced korma and it was fantastic, probably the best one l've had in years. my dad is from Birmingham and he reckons that this was the best curry he has ever had too, we will be visiting again with more family. Thank you very much.

I paid over £60 for 2 poppadoms, 2 average main courses, 2 portions of plain rice and a single naan. Grossly overpriced.

Just a quiet weekday but a great Indian.

Ordered online for pick up, food was tasty but Madras was definitely not a standard Madras nor was it spicy even though we specifically asked for it to be extra spicy. They also made a point of asking us not use their website for pickup orders, not a criticism just something to be aware of as it's not clear on the website.

My favourite place for an Indian. Gutted when the Aberdeen City one didn't reopen but well worth the short drive to Ellon. The staff are great and are always attentive and the food is amazing

Picked up a take away last night, the mains were lovely but the lemon and cashew rice was very disappointing. Barely any cashew nuts (5) and no lemon pieces or taste of lemon at all. At £5.50 a portion, expected a bit more flavour.

Expensive indian. Only reason I went was the other one was closed and the hotel had stopped. £19.00 for a chicken tandoori. Everything cooked in butter (ghee) Nice food but spoiled by the high price.

Top quality food, best Indian in the area, staff are friendly too. I had delivery, didn’t sit in. Only thing I’d say is it’s very expensive. Can’t fault the food and portions though.

So even though o ordered online 2 hours before my pick up I still had a 20 minute wait when I arrived. However I can say that this was the best tasting/quality Indian takeout I’ve ever been to! Food 5⭐️

What a lovely take away meal we had from Nazma yesterday. The tandoori chicken and naan was tasty and perfectly charred. The lamb tikka achuri was absolutely delicious. Online ordering worked perfectly and the waiter was friendly and helpful. Delighted. We will be back soon.

I ordered online as I had been working later and didn’t wish to keep calling to place an order. It’s so much easier to select, order and pay online. Service is offered! Yet, I was told to call and order rather than online . I will try online again if I get same response will go elsewhere. Not calling to order even online ordering is available. They need to perhaps be aware not everyone has time to call when online take much less time. If I could would have given no stars.

Unfortunately the Tikka Masala was very bland and extremely sweet. The pashvari naan wasn’t great either. To be honest this wasn’t my favourite Indian meal by a long shot

The food was exceptional and costs fairly reasonable. The 10% takeaway rebate helps to offset delivery costs. Would certainly use again and highly recommend based on the quality of the food.

Food is always good. But the price rises are way over the top! It is ridiculous. In the space of 6 months, the same order is around £10 more. Poor, considering they are the only Indian in Ellon.

It was a real pleasure to eat at Nazma's a few evenings ago, especially after all the difficult times we have all being going on. We were with friend and we all enjoyed our meals so much. Along with Nayomi's courteous manner, visiting Nazma was a good experience. The food was also well prepared and delicious. The chef must be congratulated for preparing such delicious food. Highly recommended.

Ordered for delivery last night. Absolutely brilliant the Byriani was the best I've had and it beat me so I've got some for lunch today. My wife said not only was it the best she's had but hasn't eaten a full meal for ages. Loved it.

Called at 5.15pm to place an order for delivery.... Was told 6.15pm delivery.. 7.20pm and still waiting... Every time we call they tell us 15-20 minutes and always rushing me off the phone.. AVOID!!!

The food Excellent dishes with wide variety of taste from spicy, sweet or sour with one of a kind taste and flavours. The look Traditional and classy look to the restaurant. Very simple but small touches add up to make it look the nicest it could look. The price High quality services, high quality food, high quality beverages and extras. It’s the small extras that add to the high quality part of nazma e.g mint chocolate you get after your meal. If I’m honest I’d happily pay a bit more for a better experience. You definitely get what u pay for here! Overall Hands down the best Indian restaurant in the north east! No doubt!!! The chefs are very very good at their jobs and the waiters are very polite. I didnt realise from the outside how big this restaurant is. They have enough space to run a restaurant and a function sweet at the same time, and we went in really late on a Tuesday - these guys sorted us out with some beers and some tasty food at a relatively cheap price - for a working restaurant. I'd happily go back with friends and family, these guys are trying really hard to make a beautifully designed restaurant work in a small town. :D

Amazing food, still to this day I have not had a better Indian than nazma. You can tell they only use high quality ingredients, every bite is mouth watering! Also, their presentation and customer service is as good as Michelin star service. I highly recommend a visit, even if you have to travel far I assure you that you will not be disappointed!

Got a takeaway tonight. Sorry nazma it was awful... Chicken like rubber and tasteless Chips and potatoes hard the lot went in the bin .. overpriced won't be back

Day 6. As the BrewDog Ellon (DogTap) kitchen was closed, we had to run around Ellon after our beers looking for a place that was still serving food. This one won - a decent curry for a decent price.

Excellent food in a nice environment

I have given 2 stars on a takeaway as the quality of the food on this occasion was extremly poor. The chicken was chewy and there was no spices in one of the currys. This was a huge disappoint as we have used the Nazma many times before with the food being previously of a high standard.

25 POUNDS FOR A PRAWN BALTI....left me absolutely speechless. Very very pricey for what can, at best, be described as average food. Poor customer service when ordering. Won't be going back.

Food was good, however it was overpriced, actually felt like I'd been ripped off, so won't go back. Starter+curry+nan+ 2 beers = £40 (No rice or any other extras)

Food was of a high standard, but service was slow, too few staff working. Ambiance was nice but not particularly lndian. Price per dish was excessive.
