Amazing Indian food and friendly staff! Especially monkfish was the best.

I died and went to heaven here for my birthday. We did the taster menu - I was blown away by ever single thing. The wait staff are very kind, someone messed up one drink and they fixed it right away. Can’t wait to go back!

Superb tasting menu, wonderful service. One of us is coeliac and they provided gluten free alternatives which were equally delicious. 7 amazing dishes. Can’t recommend more highly.

My first visit here with friends. A couple with dietary needs . No issue whatsoever, faultlessly adjusted our tasting menu to suit. Fantastic next level food 7 course’s all innovative and fantastically tasty. Services was top notch . Would highly recommend.

I've had some great food here but not today's meal. Very disappointing. The tikka sauce tasted like it was based on Heinz tomato soup.

Probably the best Indian food I’ve ever had, the naans were so fresh and soft and everything was so flavorful and delicious. My only problem was that the restaurant itself is really dim so we couldn’t see everything properly, but otherwise it was amazing.

I love Indian food and this experience was on a different level. Everything tasted amazing, full of flavour and beautifully spiced. The staff were great and very attentive. We had the tasting menu and each dish came with a full explanation from our waiter. The restaurant was quiet when we were (5.45pm), which was nice and added to the atmosphere. We left very full and happy 🙂

I booked this restaurant for my dad’s Birthday. Exceptional service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere dining here at Navadhanya an absolute pleasure. We all had an amazing experience and time here. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We all enjoyed the delicious food and surprise Birthday gesture at the end, with a birthday celebration. Thank you so much for an amazing experience and service really appreciate it. This is a definite must visit delightful place to dine.

We chose the Navadhanya to eat on our overnight visit to Cambridge and I'm so glad we did. The place was absolutely packed which gave us a good idea that we might be on to a winner. The 7 course taster menu was quite special. I'd like to thank the staff for making it such a memorable visit. I have no hesitation in recommending this super restaurant.

We went to Navadhanya for my wife’s birthday specifically for the 7 Course Tasting Menu and were not disappointed. Each course got better and was finished off with the best Melt in the middle Chocolate Fondant we’ve ever had. We didn’t have the flight of wine but did try a bottle of Indian Sauvignon Blanc which was different! We’ll definitely be going back to try the A La Cart Menu too.

The food is great, I've been here a couple times. But not sure what has happened the presentation of the food was very below par this time around, and the service wasn't that great either. I used to give this place a 5 star all around but I'm taking away a star for this visit as it didn't live up to my expectations for the price I pay for a high end Indian restaurant.

I had mirchi paneer starter, paneer makhni, and garlic coriander naan. The food was great but the atmosphere was average. Overall, I’d recommend this place

This is one of the higher-end Indian Restaurants, with a limited menu- usually a good sign. Lots of novelty in the dishes too- although simple dishes are there - I chose the chicken chettinadu, with garlic Nan and Dal Tadka (as they call it here). The curry was amazing, quite thin in substance with big chunks of chicken thigh meat, very different from the usual semicircular lumps of yellow chicken that could have been cooked last Tuesday- and I must say the best examples of Garlic Nan and Tarka Dal I have seen in a long time. I want to return and try one of the more interesting dishes, I know it will be special. Really good, and impressive inside - if I wanted to impress someone I’d bring them here.

I've reviewed this restaurant before but wanted to give feedback on a fantastic experience. My husband's birthday is late December, a tricky date. We booked for 9 family and friends, plus a small baby, and were given our own room, and VIP treatment. Thank you very much.

I went with friend and had a good meal. unfortunately, I don't like chilli but luckily before ordering, I asked if the tasting menu had chilli, which it did, although nowhere it was indicated, and that would have been a disaster. So I asked the waiter for a suggestion from the a la carte menu. He kindly suggested the dal and a main but the dal was still too spicy for me, despite he said it wasn't hot. The food is tasty and nicely presented, shame it's too hot for me. The restaurant was cold and the door, each time it opened, allowed cold air in, furthermore there was also air-con on, but that improved when I mentioned that to the waiter. In the last 20 minutes we felt quite rushed as they wanted the table back and they made it clear not only by bringing the bill we hadn't asked yet but also by telling us in the last 10 minutes that we had to vacate because the next reservation was going to be there at 20 (which is until when we were supposed to have the table to). If you like hot spicy food I really recommend you to go as it's a refined restaurant.

My favourite restaurant in Cambridge. I had the most amazing birthday meal. We had 2 tasting menus and 1 vegetarian tasting menu. Everything tasted incredible and the service is so precise and wonderful, the staff are fantastic and I am not surprised they have Michelin stars. Thank you!

Best Indian food in Cambridge. Reservations required.

If you love Indian cuisine then this restaurant is a MUST! we had the 7 course taster menu and it was mind blowingly good. All the courses were cooked to perfection and presented immaculately. I've never tasted Indian food this good before. Each course is delivered with a description of what it is by the waiting staff. The staff are polite attentive and efficient, it is service with a smile. I recommend the Indian Shiraz 'Sula' with this meal. I highly recommend the scallops and the monkfish dishes but then all the courses were superb. You definitely need to visit this restaurant!

Great food and overall experience for a very fair price :)

Authentic Indian food with good ambience. A tad expensive. Went there for an early dinner as a couple with a toddler. The staff were good and accommodating of the child. We ordered pappadams to start with. The three chutneys that came with were really nice. As starters we ordered lal mirch paneer and crab N70. The paneer was amazing and brought back memories of eating in North India. The portion size left us worried whether the mains would be filling, but didn't turn out to be an issue. The crab was a letdown, couldn't feel the flavour at all. For mains we had lamb biriyani and Punjabi Murgh with spicy naan. Wife felt the chicken was too sweet, but I have had similar before. The mains were good overall, and there was enough for us to bag home in the end. We ended with Masala Chai, but that was a letdown again, felt too watery. Overall, it was nice food with good ambience and good service. We often feel after eating out at Indian restaurants that we should have just cooked ourselves, but that wasn't the case here. Except for a couple of duds, we came back satisfied. Still overall, the price felt a bit too steep.

Amazing food!! Had the 7 course tasting menu (for the second time) … would highly recommend to anyone who fancy’s a special dinner. Service has been great each time with a lovely atmosphere. Will defiantly be coming back again soon xx

Great food, quite expensive, but you get what you pay for, definitely not like your local curry house, these dishes have exceptional flavours and spices.

Lovely tasting food, vegetable biryani was more rice than vegetables, with one sprout of broccoli, one stem of asparagus, a ribbon of carrot, and a couple of baby sweetcorn! Looked impressive and tasted good, just no substance for the price 😔 Staff were friendly and polite, but service was really slow unfortunately! Great venue and atmosphere, if you intend to stay and have no time limit👍

Navadhanya is an Indian restaurant, but it might better be described as a fine restaurant serving Indian-inspired dishes. The menu is not extensive, but the dishes offered are well chosen, thoughtfully spiced and nicely presented. This is a place for a stylish dinner, far removed from the after-pub vindaloo.

Real Indian Fine Dining in Cambridge

Wow, we were really impressed by this place. We are indian food fanatics and have tried at least 15 Indian food restaurants in Cambridge. Our normal go-to spot is Taj Tandoori, which is hard to beat. However, we came here tonight for the first time and actually thought they were on-par with each other — both exceptional. My family is vegetarian and we all thought the food here was 5 stars. We’ll definitely be back!

Had a private room for a birthday celebration. The food was of outstanding quality, freshly cooked and presented very finely. All the spices were very well balanced. We enjoyed our meals thoroughly. The atmosphere was a bit lacking though, as we were in the room without any windows or a view. Service was friendly and attentive.

I've driven/walked past this restaurant many times and one day upon googling I was suprised to learn it was one of the best restaurants in Cambridge. So I had to make a visit. Indeed this is the best Indian restaurant that I've personally visited in Cambridge (so far). I went for the Nalli Ka Gosht and Butter Naan. The meal was an absolute delight with the tenderness and flavour of the Lamb complimenting the sauces beautifully. I will certainly have to come back and try the fish menu. Thanks for making my visit a great experience!

I am someone that has avoided seafood all my adult life.... Having recently taken myself out of a few comfort zones in my life I decided that seafood is something I should probably tackle.. lots of people told me I have missed out! So, Navadhanya was recommended as I enjoy spice and flavour. WOW WOW WOW! The recommendation was the best I have ever had! I was nervous but after my first bite I knew the Seafood taster menu was something I was going to enjoy! Dish after dish of pure heaven..... I was someone that didn't like the thought of eating seafood..... that's all I was! Because I LOVE seafood now! 7 courses of taste sensation. Every course was the right amount of everything. The waiter was so well versed in explaining the dishes and with so much enthusiasm and a delightful smile. Wine and water were topped up accordingly and staff were so very attentive. The food was cooked to perfection ( My partner is highly knowledgebable in food) and there wasn't anything that made me feel uncomfortable in any way. Beautiful, so very worth the money and I am now a seafood eater for sure!!

The tasting Menu was out of this world. Interesting flavour combinations, attentive staff that treated our 5 Person group like royalty even though we just ordered the tasting menu without the complementary wines. There ist a reason, this place got repeated mentions in the Guide Michelin. I'll definetly be back.

Went for a friends birthday party. The experience overall was good. The food has some eccentric info western combinations which are not purely authentic but a good attempt. Not a place for regular dine out or takeaway but maybe just for special occasions. The service was great.

Absolutely perfect dinner service, food was immaculate, servers were very knowledgeable and friendly and the restaurant was beautifully decorated and clean. Came with my girlfriend for our anniversary and tried the 7 course vegetarian tasting menu - I'm not vegetarian but the food was amazing and great value. Very impressed and we will be returning.

The food was tasty but service was unacceptably slow. We waited almost an hour for our starters, then another 40 minutes for the main course. This made the experience overall much less enjoyable. We were planning to get desserts at first but gave up because we didn’t want to risk waiting who knows how long!

This is the next level Indian cuisine. I went to celebrate my birthday and I had one of the best Indian dinners in my life. I recommend their testing menu a lot, it's a lot of delicious food very well balanced and served with a nice explanation about everything that you're eating. The only thing I will probably improve is that the music stopped at some point and they didn't realized until 20min later which made the atmosphere feel a bit more noisy. Everything else excellent👌 I will return for more special dates.

We had a family meal and would highly recommend this restaurant. We shared two seven course tasting menus and two seven course tasting menus.The seven courses had five courses of wine so do pace yourself! The staff were very accommodating as we swapped a course out.Do go if you are in the area!

We booked this restaurant a few weeks before visiting Cambridge, on recommendation, we are glad we did. We did not eat until 8 o'clock, but if we were to visit again we would eat earlier so we could have the 7 course tasting menu. The looks of amazement on the faces of the diners enjoying that menu with a wine flight to accompany it was something to behold!Our choices were from the al a carte menu, & they where great too. Lots of choice of meat, fish, vegetarian & vegan, with special desserts. Service was good

We booked for our first visit for a Friday night and had always been wanting to try the tasting menu. We were sat upstairs which was cold/drafty and non atmospheric! There wasn’t the same buzz as downstairs and the music couldn’t be heard either. The food was lovely, however took 30 minutes to get our first drink (the first course arrived before our drinks) and the service was incredibly slow generally. it was as if we had been forgot about as we were upstairs. There were not any staff upstairs to grab the attention at any point unless they were bringing up customers food or drinks. We would return for the food, but would definitely ask to get placed downstairs, as for the money we spent, we felt like we had been forgotten about as customers and didn’t feel like we’d had a great dining experience.

We were really looking forward to visiting this restaurant as they had new premises and we thought they couldn’t improve. But so disappointed in the taster menu, the ambiance not so good and despite newly opened things like toilet roll holders broken etc. Then the final straw when a huge family gathering arrived and took over the free spaces. The children with feet up on tables disgusting. Staff out of their comfort zone and clueless to take control. It was far from pleasant and we couldn’t wait to leave.

Enjoyed everything about this meal. Reasonably priced. Excellent presentation and quality of ingredients. Surroundings are smart, not fussy and feels relaxed. The dishes are packed with flavour and meticulously prepared. Starter portions were good. I Recommend the Tandoori Prawn starter - stunning.

What can i say about this restaurant !! Wow . The menu is limited compared to your normal Indian restaurants ,But that's good in many ways , For starters i had the Tandoori Prawns they were large and spicy if i had to give a negative side could be hotter than warm . My wife had the Mattar Scallops which looked great and tasted great . I must point out my wife is not a spicy eater and a member of the staff/manager gave some great advice on how spicy the dish would be and even offered to make it less spicy for her which really makes you feel that this restaurant really believes in customer satisfaction , Now the mains my wife had Nalli ka Gosht which is a type of Lamb shank and that went down well with her too , I had Chicken Chettinadu which has 18 spices and the Chicken was tended and moist 10 out 10 for me and the peshwari naan was die for .I'm a lover of Indian ice cream and many of the restaurants have bought in Kulfi which is not that good ,But here they make their own and the Pistachio was one of the best i have ever eaten . So a big thank you for a great meal and service and i will be back

Seriously good food right here! We went for the 7 course taster (meat - vegetarian and vegan options available). 1st course was incredibly inventive, the chicken was incredible and the monkfish, sublime. Also, who said Indian desserts weren't good? The dessert here was amazing! Fast, friendly service, very well priced and laid back. If you want to try high end Indian cuisine, this is the place to go!

An exceptional fine dining Indian restaurant. The food quality was amazing which coupled with excellent service made a very enjoyable experience.We also had the flight of wine which paired brilliantly with each course. This is the best Indian food I have every eaten, can't wait to eat here again.

Exceptional Indian restaurant, standard of food is extremely high. Go for the taster menu as they accompany each course with a suitable wine. My wife and I both thought we’d struggle with some of the courses as we aren’t really into seafood. How wrong can you be. The monkfish and clams were sensational. What makes this place even more delightful is the waiters who will give you a brief summary of the dishes p,us a few words on why the accompanying wine was chosen. And they get it right. Best Indian food I’ve had.

We went here with friends, the 2 ladies shared the vegetarian sampler menus, which went down very well. I had the monk fish for starters and the railway curry. Both dishes excellent but the monkfish was outstanding.All staff very friendly, was not rushed would recommend if you fancy something a bit different to the usual Indian restaurant

We wanted to find somewhere special to eat with our daughter after her graduation. The food was extremely tasty and moderately priced. The service was excellent and so nice to be able to park right outside. Would heartily recommend

We took our vegetarian son here for his graduation - a special meal and it did not disappoint. The vegetarian tasting menu is outstanding - inventive and original, quite unusual to UK tastes. The first starter is nothing less than spectacular! The ambiance is modern; the service (Rahman - new there but nothing was too much trouble) is attentive but note that the tasting menu did take 3 1/2 hours to get through. Worth it though!Oh and the Indian white wine was excellent - another surprise.

Fantastic 7 Course Tasting Menu - all food superb and the presentation was awesome. The sauce for the Hariyali Machili (monkfish) was out of this world.

Took my boyfriend for his 30th birthday and couldn't have asked for a better meal or experience. We did the 7 course taster menu and each course was better than the last, we've never tasted anything quite like it! I'm dairy and nut intolerant and because i told them in advance they had prepared some of the dishes specially for me which is incredible service. We did the wine flight as well (5 glasses each which accompany the mains) which we loved and our waiter told us about each one which was such a nice touch. Cannot recommend Navadhanya highly enough and if anyone is looking for a venue for a special occasion... look no further!

we had seen some great reviews of the food when doing some research for weekend in Cambridge. we were not disappointed by the food it was the restaurant that was awful. they had recently moved and we were sested upstairs next to the toilets which you could hear the dryers and the top kitchen looked like a store room, not to mention the terrible elevator music on repeat. Big tip, make sure you get a table downstairs if you want half a dining experience. as the evening went on the service was also getting slower which was a shame.

A real hidden gem. We opted for the tasting menu and from start to finish the food and service was impeccable. Excellent value for money and the wine flight was perfectly matched. The Indian chenin blanc was a lovely surprise. Unassuming from the outside but the food wouldn't be out of place on Park Lane in Mayfair. Amazing experience!

We fancied a curry close to where we were staying on the Grassmarket and Navdhanya looked pretty good. Managed to reserve a table for two at short notice and it did not disappoint. Exceptional service throughout. Not your usual Indian menu. We had onion bhaji and fish starters, railway lamb curry, two types of naan and deserts. Amazing, lamb is certainly king here as others have noted. This was one of the best Indian meals we have had, perhaps ever and we've had a few all over the UK. You simply must visit this restaurant!

Our meal at the Navadhanya was probably the finest Indian cuisine we have sampled in the UK. We chose the 7 course tasting menu, at £56 per person. Having consumed the meal which was absolutely phenomenal we realised what an exceptional price it was for such outstanding delights. Starting with the flavoured Puchka ( photo attached ), which was fun and delicious, we were bombarded with dish after dish of the finest quality, imaginatively served, all tasted incredible. A wine fight is available with the tasting menu. It was an outstandingly memorable meal. Highly recommend.

Fabulous Indian food. Late birthday treat from my wife. We ate early,the foot is fantastic. Starter Scallops, Monk fish and soft shell crab. Followed by railway lamb curry, duck and malabar king prawn curry. Pilau rice, Smoked aubergine purée and a peshwari nann. Finished up with home made pistachio and mango kulfi. We could not fault a single course. All truly delicious. We will be back soon

I have been here many times either with family or friends. The staff and service are so polite, helpful and attentive. I thoroughly recommend the 7 course tasting menu.This is not your usual Indian restaurant this is fine dining, beautifully presented Indian food with a twist. Easily my most favourite restaurant in Cambridgeshire.

Takeout from Navadanya. I can’t actually believe I’m rating navadanya as poor. We’ve been here before a number of times and have always loved the food. Pricier than other Indian restaurants but certainly worth it. We decided to order take out and were bitterly disappointed. The food tasted as though it had been cooked days prior and just microwaved prior to delivery. We were a little suspicious when the food arrived less than 15 minutes after we ordered online (through Deliveroo). It was also cold!! We had to heat it up at home. We were so hungry, we decided not to ring up and ask for warm food!We are supporting our local restaurants throughout lockdown, but, if we’re paying a fair amount for food we expect freshly cooked warm meals, especially from a place like navadanya. I don’t think we’ll be ordering take out from here again. Once you reopen, may give it another shot by booking a table, only because we’ve enjoyed the food in the past.

Recommended by family we booked this restaurant on a recent trip to Cambridge. We were not disappointed. Food was amazing! Indian, but a million miles away for standard curry house fare (of which I am a big fan!). A bit pricey, but, as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for. I have scallops and then prawns, both really well cooked and with beautiful sauces. The rest of my lot are vegetarian and they loved their choices. A number of diners were having the 7 course taster menu, which looked amazing, and the first course was served with a touch of the theatrical!. Service was friendly and attentive and the staff really knew their stuff when asked questions about the food.

The tasting menu was absolutely delicious - every course was filled with new flavours and the whole thing was very filling. Staff were friendly and introduced each course. For £51 each the quality and taste of the food was unbeatable. Allow at least two hours!

Tuvimos el menú de degustación de 7 platos un lunes por la noche, la comida estaba muy bien presentada y todos y cada uno de los platos deliciosos.La ventaja era que estaban ofreciendo un descuento del 25% en comida y bebida los lunes de septiembre.Excelente personal.Ojalá viviera más cerca y pudiera visitarlo con regularidad.Buenas medidas de Covid en su lugar.

My wife and I opted for the 7 course taster menu and I am delighted we did. The taster menu included a veggie course followed by mussels, monkfish, chicken, lamb and, finally, desserts. Each one was very good or excellent. All the dishes looked great and tasted even better. It is good to have a taster menu and feel as though you have been well fed at the end of it. It is not uncommon to pay a lot of money for a taster menu and then need a bag of chips on the way home. Not here! All selections were generous.The staff were very efficient and pleasant. The cherry on top of the cake was that when we were given our bill there was a 25% discount on it - no idea why, but very welcome.

Fantastic food if you like a curry and tasting menus this is a must try! Yes the decor etc needs to be ignored with food this good it’s easy!

Was there to try the food taster menu, which for the quantity and quality of food served is justified I'd say. The staff was pleasant and took good care of us throughout the course of meals. The food was meticulously served and visually appetizing, not to mention tasted amazing and close to home.which although many restaurants claim but not succeed. Would definitely come back and try the unique north eastern cuisine this restaurant offers!

The food was quite expensive and I found my dish (a fish curry) was very spicy which I didn’t see in the menu🤣 and it was really hot inside.

We love tasting menus but this was our first Indian themed fine dining tasting menu. We also took the wine flight. Navadhanya is a must for anybody that likes Indian food, each course was so tasty and beautifully presented - a super taste sensation with really nicely paired wines. And all at a very reasonable price. We thought it was really good VFM. Service was fabulous, the staff are so courteous and helpful. We will definitely return.Thank you Navadhanya for a lovely evening!!BTW the mango kulfi is to die for!!!

We went on a Saturday evening and had the tasting menu. Amazing service, great wine, and possibly the best meal I've ever had. They also threw in a little treat as we were on our honeymoon. We were so impressed we booked a table for the following Monday. Once again, the food was incredible. The terrible service almost ruined the evening though. It was an hour and a half before we received our mains, and we were waiting 20 mins for 2 beers. The waitress passed our table, empty handed numerous times without acknowledging us or apologising for the wait. I'm by no means fussy, but when you're spending over £100 on a meal you expect a little more courtesy and professionalism.

We went to first eat out after lockdown in this great Indian restaurant. We had their new tasting menu . Food was mind blowing and absolutely fantastic. Service was very polite, friendly and safe with all COVID safety measures .

This was an absolutely brilliant meal, one of the best Indian meals we’ve ever had - and we’ve had a lot! Truly enjoyable and memorable.The service was impeccable and the food was impeccable, especially the scallops for a starter and the Railway Lamb for a main. A lovely Indian Sauvignon Blanc too with a really nice touch of a small dessert with a candle for a little birthday treat. Yes, the upstairs room was a little odd and the decor could do with an update but I’d go back here in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

I don’t know what restaurant the Michelin reviewer visited or who was cooking when they did but I certainly did not see what they saw.The food is exceptionally and creatively presented ... and that is where the positives end. The service was shoddy and the staff hardly acknowledge your existence - god help you if you want another drink! The toilets were dirty with door handles basically falling off! Clearly the venue was previously a pub but they haven’t even taken the 5 mins to take the old pub stickers from the toilet doors. The food is bland and to be honest stick with a traditional curry house - this attempt to lift Indian food to a new level .... Plummeted back to earth!

I don't know where to start! My husband and I dined at Navadhanya tonight and we are absolutely blown away. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was on of the best meals we've ever had and definitely the best Indian food we've eaten. The service was faultless too. Would highly recommend, we will be back!
