Nartnapa Thai Cuisine in North Devon

We have recently moved to the area and were looking for somewhere to go for my birthday meal. We were not disappointed. We had the mixed platter to share and it was my first time eating squid which was very tasty and a great texture. I then had Pad Thai Chicken which was amazing, lots of great flavours and textures. Lovely atmosphere, great service from the lady running the bar and taking orders and also the guy bringing the food out. Well done everyone.

We'd already been to Nartnapa and had a lovely dinner a whole back and were looking forward to our return in the newly renovated restaurant. We went back with family tonight and had such an amazing time. The woodburner was aglow, keeping the new dining space lovely and warm. The new decor is vibrant and stylish with plenty of atmosphere and the churning river Lyn audible just below. We knew the food would be good but it truly was beautiful. Spring rolls, tempura, penang, green curry and stir fry were all great. Brilliant for veggies and non veggies alike. The lovely staff were so knowledgeable and helped adjust a few things to cope with an allergy. Our family were really impressed that we have such a great place on our doorstep. We are very lucky. We will be recommending to everyone. Congratulations to the Cottage Inn - you really are doing an amazing job of it. Thankyou

Excellent food with superb flavours and good presentation. We really liked the revamp too, and the prices are reasonable. So why only 4 stars? When the card reader is placed on the table with the service charge percentages showing it is only polite for the waitress to turn away while payment and, in particular, the service charge are dealt with. For her to stand over and watch is a definite NO. I completely disagree with supposedly voluntary service charges anyway, but to be watched when deciding what percentage is to be given, took the edge off an otherwise very pleasant evening.

Visited for evening meal and was not disappointed. Food was sooooo good. Everything tasted amazing. Service was excellent, attentive and friendly. Would definitely visit again David and Anne.

Impromptu stop off that resulted in us having some lovely Thai food. The Pad Thai here is one of if not the best I’ve ever had. Lovely setting with roaring fire and window view of the river, plus great service.

Slightly out the centre of Lynton but worth a visit. Quiet settling and we had a lovely view of the river. Good choice on the menu so something for everyone. Food was exceptional and the spices really hit the pallet. We booked in advance and would definitely recommend.

Super tasty Thai food which is aromatic and delicious. Caters for a variety of dietary requirements and service was excellent. Great selection of real ales also. A word of caution- if you have a large car, approach from Lynmouth (up the hill) as the entrance to the car park is very narrow.

Great Thai restaurant. I’d been wanting to visit and bring my family and it was their first visit and my fourth. They were impressed. Wonderful fresh ingredients and very tasty. Also helpful and attentive staff. We loved the pad Thai, curry and stir fry dishes and the sharing starter platters were very moreish !

This family run pub is well worth a visit. The food is absolutely delicious, the host is very friendly and the waiting staff can’t be faulted. If you’re looking for genuine Thai food you won’t be disappointed here.

Absolute gem of a place. Authentic Thai food for all the family. We had the spring rolls (veg and duck) to start with Panang chicken / Thai chicken noodles with basil and chilli to follow. The kids loved the chicken over fried rice (they’re usually very fussy!) Definitely worth a visit. The Malbec was a great accompaniment to the spicy food. Thanks for our special evening, sat beside the river in the old Cottage.

The food was lovely! We both had the Pennang curry and our little boy had the kids rice dish. Both were so tasty. The staff were lovely too. I recommend this place, Thai food is my favorite too.

The staff were very welcoming and on the weekend evening when we visited there were plenty of other diners, so there was a good atmosphere in an otherwise uninspiring venue in a particularly attractive location. Prawn crackers were okay albeit the price was steep. The Singha beer went down well. The pennang fish curry was tasty, albeit it didn't seem to have additional prawns or vegetables to make up for the pre-announced lack of squid. There was a vast amount more sauce than rice and, for the price, it would be reasonable to expect rather more of the latter. Chicken pad Thai was plentiful and generally well-cooked, but lacking spice or heat. Maybe the chef has adapted their recipes anticipating guests new to Thai food? It's so nearly excellent; we really appreciate the massive costs of running a remote establishment such as this and of finding - and retaining - good staff, but did leave feeling that the experience had slightly missed the mark.

We received a warm welcome as soon as we entered the restaurant and shown to our table. The menu was varied and we decided on a sharing platter containing fish cakes, squid, spring rolls, prawn dippers. For our main course we shared a green curry with fried rice. We enjoyed most of the sharing platter but we didn't like the taste or texture of the fish cakes. Staff provided a good service and seemed to be trying so hard to make the business a success. We thought we'd stepped back into the 1970's when entering the restaurant, which begged the question as to whether we were there to enjoy the food or criticise the carpet and wallpaper. The former (food) is excellent and well worth the visit. The later (carpets and wallpaper) are something which can , hopefully, be worked on at a later date. Service was swift and attentive and all things considered we would be happy to recommend this restaurant.
