Nandos Ashton Moss in Tameside

My nandos experience was that of an awful one I've done 12 months inside prison and I'd take the food hospitality and service in there over going back to this nandos 11/10 times. TRULY AWFUL.

just reopened after a refit, really good food, and very reasonable, the chicken is gorgeous, order a full one for 2, delicious, and the custard pies are just so good.

Not great. The service was poor, they delivered starters & TOGETHER! Overall it's an overrated take away just pricey. You get chicken? You can get that in McDonald's etc. I'd rather a meal deal from Boots.

Went to Nandos with my friend for a early tea, was really excited to go because it just re-opened. However we were really disappointed! Got a table quick and was greeted by Tom who was very friendly. When food arrived only one meal came and was incorrect asked for garlic bread bun and got a regular it was the wrong sauce and had tomato and chilli jam on ( i asked for none of this) the waitress then changed this order but my friend's food still not arrived! 20 minutes later the food was brought over and I had nearly finished all my food! The restaurant was poorly organised no cutlery and the drinks machine kept breaking, the place seemed to be rushed open and staff defiantly needed more training!

Newly refurbished. Looks amazing inside and love the new improved layout. Staff friendly as always. We arrived just after it opened and so it wasn't too busy we were able to choose our table. Food was prompt and cooked perfect how we wanted. Never had a problem with the food here to be honest. Only thing you find is if you leave it until a bit later then you usually have a wait of about half an hour but always worth it.

Visited this restaurant today with my boyfriend. This was my first visit to Nandos and wouldn't normally come here as I'm vegetarian but we had a gift voucher from Christmas. We went around 5:30pm so was understandably quite busy and there was a 20 minute wait for a table which we were happy with. Once we had a table we had to wait again to queue to order food as there was no table service which I soon discovered. I don't understand why Nandos have this in place. The prices are in a similar range to nearby restaurants yet they differ in the levels of service they offer which is a significant drawback. You pay for an experience and to have to get your own cutlery etc. undermines this. We ordered cold drinks yet were given warm glasses. The garlic bread appetiser lacked flavour and could barely taste the chilli that was supposedly on it. I had the bean burger and ordered a side of chips as these aren't given as part of the meal. For desserts, we were not able to have our choices as we were told these had sold out hours earlier. Given that we had arrived during the peak time, to not have the availability of food items is pretty poor, especially as we were told they had sold outo far earlier in the day. Plates were not cleared after each course as standard, so the table became quite cluttered.For the price you pay, I would have expected a better service given that is generally the standard across most food establishments.

Visited at weekend with my wife. It was quite late in the evening and most of the other restaurants were closing or stopping serving. If you have been to Nandos before, you know what to expect. It's not haute cuisine, probably a couple of steps up from McDonald's in the food hierarchy. In honesty, it wouldn't have been my first choice for food but it was convenient. Food-wise, its average. The chicken was a bit greasy but the peri-peri chips were very nice. Soft drinks are refillable so that's good if you have children. It cost us a shade under £30 for two meals with two sides (chips/rice) a beer and a Coke. Not too bad. A final comment is that the place is in need of a facelift. The seats where we sat (far end near the tills in the corner) were all torn so you could see the foam underneath the faux-leather. It's not going to spoil my day but it's worth noting that it is a bit tatty. If you're in the area and like Nandos then why not? However, I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there, especially when there are other establishments on that particular park.

Just a regular Nandos really. Food was nice and plenty to choose from. When we were seated we weren't told about the ordering process, we had never been to a Nandos before so didn't know we ordered ourselves and got our own refreshments.

As every Nandos the food is tastefull and the soft drinks bottomless and staff nowhere to be seen. In this one the atmosphere and music were very nice and the perfect way to end a shopping day.

Went with wife and grandson. Never been to Nandos before. Staff very well trained and helpful. The young girl on till was great with grandson and did great job. Food very good and plentiful. Very busy but great service. I hope a lot of other places take note!! Had great evening - well done!

Just found out its halal meat as a non Muslim I don't appreciate a religion forced upon me when I think halal is barbaric, shame because I love nandos!

We were in a large group of 10 and expected a long wait but we were seated within 5/10 minutes and all our food was brought out together and was warm, which is usually the issue in larger parties. We were not rushed to vacate the table and one waiter helped with a child that was in our party-very attentive!! Food is delicious, always is at the Ashton branch-doesn't taste burnt, just nicely chargrilled!!

I have been to this restaurant loads of times and I love it here. Relaxed and informal. It's great for a quick lunch and for kids. Love the very hot chicken in a Mediterranean salad. With pitta and corn on the cob. Great prices and value for money. Loads of parking. Refillable drinks. Can share a whole chicken and chips with sides between a couple of people. At peak times you may have to wait. Conveniently located on an entertainment complex next to cineworld cinema and bowling.

Come here very often as it is one of our favourite restaurants. Staff are lovely and food is always amazing always served quickly and food is always delivered quickly

they had air con on while its freezing so made food go cold really quick. Think nandos is overpriced and the wait there for food is horrendous. Need a upstairs made, and should have wifi for those who have been waiting for 45 mins or more.

Popped in whilst visiting a friend, same old same old, everything pretty consistent as with all the branches I have visited. Service and food standard all pretty good, no complaints.

Great food ! Poor service This was the third time we visited and we placed our ordered checked it all ok. Only half the starters arrived then after asking someone to bring the others the main course arrived ! This has happened twice think staff just need to check people orders more throughly before bringing food out

Visited last night with my children, brother & parents. Initially we received the wrong order but that was quickly rectified. Food was hot, tasty & plentiful. Wait staff were friendly.Bit of a disappointment with desserts, after ordering & paying for 4 slices of chocolate cake, we were informed after 5 minutes that there were only 3 slices left. This was at 5:30-6pm on a Friday evening, so not too good! Somebody had to sacrifice their chocolate cake & that somebody was me.

Unfortunately this is my local nandos but god they are forgetful. I think every time I have ordered a take out from them they forget something so make sure to check yourself first before walking away. The wait times are always so long even when there are free tables too which is irritating.Can't complain about the food it has always been nice

Good food, but need to go through the week and in the day, always far to busy and no sooner have you sat down and ate your food, they push for you to leave .

Regular isn't the word. Love this place!! And let's face it what beats a "Cheeky Nandos" Staff are always smart and welcoming and do everything they can do make your trip more enjoyable.

When I first went to this restaurant I thought how strange to be taken to a table and given instructions on what to do. The food is always nice with a great choice to choose from. My order wasn't right but they was fast at correcting it

I am a regular visitor with family, friends and my boyfriend. Food quality is always good and service is very quick.At peak times you do have to wait for a table but that just goes to show how good it is because people are willing to wait.

This place has great food and we go all the time but the place is letting itself down by not staying on top of some simple things. The toilets are pretty awful, smelly, sticky floors. No hand towels to dry your hands and a pathetic hand dryer. The cubicle has been beaten up by someone so a gaping hole in the wall, just does not look hygienic at all. During our visit the fire escape had been compromised by a number of chairs in front of the escape door, and when I say a number there must have been 10 chairs in the way.Area manager would loose the will to live if they saw this practice. I agree with a previous negative comment on the wet tables, but need to add that the chairs don't get cleaned at all!

nice food and quick service , the staff couldn't do enough for you which is rare for a large chain worth a visit will be back

I always have the same veggie bean burger and my partner has half a chicken. We have never had any problems here except a wait during peak times but that's to be expected. Fresh food, good prices and they offer 20% discount if you work for the police/ army / NHS and probably a few others if you look before you go :) we go often.

If you like chicken this is the place for you, offers many different chicken dishes and very popular with the younger crowd.

After a fleeting visit when in London this was my first real experience of Nando's as a sit down option with my family.After having attempted to book a table earlier in the day I wasn't hugely impressed with the policy of only being able to book a table for 6 people +. Especially as this particular complex is well known for excessive waiting times (not a great experience to go through with 2 hungry children!!).Having mentioned the above the staff were quick to find us a table & I was glad that this was a little away from the people waiting for a table which are facing you while you eat (possible re-think needed here & I also saw one couple decline a table due to this reason).It took me a while to understand I was responsible for ordering my own food. This personally isn't my thing & in a world where digital rules I can't see why the more than adequate number of staff can't accommodate this.The member of staff who took our order was not the friendliest or either helpful in terms of this being our first visit & taking in to account we are not Nando's experts.We had an average wait for food & after struggling with the ice machine & drinks we were soon served our various choices.My son & I both opted for the Grilled Chicken burger (Medium spiced) which when mixed with the additional Nando's medium strength sauce was fairly enjoyable but not a knock-out dish. My partner opted for a Grilled Chicken salad with Hollumi. This was well presented & she thoroughly enjoyed her meal. My youngest chose a 'kidz' meal & this was just enough in terms of portion size for her although I felt there could have been more choice on this menu.The bottomless drink options are very useful & a useful addition when you have children with you who can easily make their way through an endless supply of drinks.The main reason I rated this as a 4 was really down to the other menu options I saw people enjoy such as sharing platters of Chicken Breast, Thigh with chips as well as Chicken Wings with side orders of corn on the cob. These would definitely be my first choice if I was to return again. The other reason was down to cost which I felt was reasonable for what we were offered. I almost forgot the desserts which even though some were not available-not really acceptable on pay day weekend in a busy complex. However the Carrot Cake was thoroughly enjoyable & my sons Chocolate Cake was as well received but needed the help of 2 people to finish it (suitable for serious chocolate lovers only).The waiter for our table was a polar opposite to the member of staff who took our order (looked a little bit like Zayn from 1D). He was friendly, took our order for deserts without hassle & seemed pleased to assist.A few brush ups needed in terms of service & layout & I personally feel the whole experience would be enhanced if you didn't have to run the gauntlet of ordering your own food but I believe this may be a long standing tradition of dining at Nando's.May return to try one of the above mentioned platters in the future...

Visited last night. Was seated quickly. I had the chicken thighs which were tasteless and watery, I ordered rice and coleslaw and as I have said in the title the coleslaw was warm and also tasteless the rice was ok but was no better than the 17p tesco value stuff. The glasses were warm which made the drinks warm. The people who worked there were pleasant. But we didn't bother having desert as I thought I would be throwing another tenner out if the window. Won't be visiting again in a hurry

I have been to Nandos Ashton and I am a regular visitor. Food quality is always good and Taste is something that I go for. Only thing that is bit negative is , we mostly have to get in a que to get a table so that shows its always busy.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night with friends for a good old catch up. Got a booth which was fabulous and ordered food which came soon enough, along with some extra sides as it was treat day! Service was good, lovely waitress recommended the mango frozen yoghurt and she was right it was tasty!! Will go again as always good food and enjoyable atmosphere for a girlie gossip :o)

been here a few timesbrilliant service food always hot and fresh staff brought out my sons birthday cake and even sang happy birthday to him highly recommend

Went to Nandos on Saturday night. It was very busy, we were told the wait would be 30 mins. After 20 mins we were taken to our table which was straight in front of the entrance door. By the time our food came we were both frozen. Every time the door opened we got a very cold draught. Our food was delicious but it was going colder by the minute. I ended up leaving the mash as it was so cold. We feel strongly that this table should be moved.We will definitely not sit there again. It spoiled the evening.

Usually go there with family over the weekend. Its usually busy but have no complaints regarding food or services. Nandos serve standard Portuguese food and I enjoy going to nandos. Its child friendly and clean place to go and eat. Bit on expensive side but i guess thats what you pay for name and quality.Only issue i had is parking. Due to some construction work going on there parking there is absolute pain but its not Nando's fault.

Today I ordered a takeaway fromy Nandos and I had sat down opposite the tills waiting for my order. Since I have a love for ice cream I always buy a bottomless frozen yoghurt. So I filled up filled up my ice cream, and sat down. To my surprise, Tom came to me with a lid and spoon for my frozen yoghurt without being asked and on of his own accord! I know it's not much but it's more than most would do. I'm not sure if he'll ever see this but I've gone to the effort of it to show him that I appreciate It. It's the simple things in life that can restore ones faith in the kindness of humanity. Anyway, thanks Tom.

Had to leave .. we was a mixed group off girls going cinima and thought we would go for a meal first only to find they dont advitise clearly halal only food ONLY . Not all off us wanted halal killed chicken as its cruel so had to eat else where Not good at all .

Okay so I came on here initially to get a phone number for the restaurant, but I felt the need to write a review for the people who may not have been to a Nandos before; those who have, you may find this interesting but probably not.So for anyone who doesn't know, Nandos is a chicken restaurant! There is nothing particularly "healthy" on this menu, and I would not advise it as a place to go for a special occassion. It is middle of the road food that you'll either love or not be too fussed about. It is basically the marmite of places you can eat!You CANNOT book a table, therefore I would advise to AVOID AVOID AVOID at peak times, i.e. Friday/Saturday evenings and Wednesday evenings (due to Orange Wednesdays at Cineworld). There did use to be a nice little seating area to wait for a table, but since the refurb there is just a row of chairs facing the poor people whos table is inches away - very awkward! There is no bar area, and EVERYTHING is self service. You order at the till point, you collect your own cutlery, sauces, extra plates etc. etc!The actual food here is relatively good. I've had a couple of bad meals but all in all it is quite nice. The ambience is quite nice, but the best time to go if you get the chance, is through the day midweek. It's nice and quiet, theres no waiting around and the staff are in general alot friendlier and chattier as they have to time to speak. Go at peak time and it's pretty much one in one out and everyones frowning whilst you sit and sip your coffee.My little tip for anyone who doesn't like spice, avoid the mango&lime flavour; instead ask for PERITAMER. Peritamer is a barbecue flavour that's on the Nandinos menu; God only knows why they don't put it on the main menu as it tastes AMAZING; but they will do your chicken this flavoyr if you ask!Don't order items such as humous expecting them to be a starter - Nandos brings all your food at once.The haloumi cheese here is actually a really nice addition to your meal and only cost £1 for a couple of grilled slices.Perinaise is an extra 55p but again is ALOT nicer than the oily sauces in the bottle that some people seem to just have surrounding them on the table.This is a nice Nandos restaurant and if you go at the right time and know the menu you will enjoy it! If you are a Nandos Newbie then don't bother going at the peak times ; it isn't a nice experience if you don't know the set up of the restaurant.I do hope this has helped anyone whos wondering about going here; I just saw a few reviews which weren't so good and hoped to clear up a few issues :)

Always top quality.Just great value for money.Great service.Great carrot cake.The chicken is always very tasty and fresh.Very nice coffee and cold drinks with water free.

First visit to this particular branch of Nando's and we have to say it was a brilliant experience.I visited with my husband who is a wheelchair user and have to say we had such a positive experience.We found ample disabled parking to the rear of the restaurant and I popped round to the restaurant to check that they were able to accomodate us as it was at peak lunchtime service.Greeted by an exceptionally helpful young lady who helped me select a suitable spot that was wheelchair friendly.She prepared the table for us whilst I returned to the car to collect my husband.The moment we arrived a member of staff was present to help us with the rather heavy doors and guided us to our preselected table.She helpfully pointed out the location of the disabled toilets and offered any additional help we may need.The disabled facilities were top notch with the toilet being super large to accomodate both a wheelchair user and helper with ease and were spotlessly clean.On finishing our meal once again a helpful young waiter immediately stopped what he was doing and dashed over to help us with the doors.Dining out with a wheelchair user can often be restrictive and difficult but the staff here made our visit a real pleasure.Many thanks to all involved - this first visit will most definitely ot be the last.Lastly the food was pretty good too!!!!

Came here after cinema, and whilst it was very busy and our name went on a list, we were seated in 5 minutes.Ordered within another 5 mins, and the food all came quickly, and all hot, and as expected.OK it's not haute cuisine, but you know what to expect with Nandos so its all about the service, and quality of the food, and in both regards it was very good.

Been there quiet few times.The food has been good except the consistency can be a bit off track sometimes....However overall good.I class it as a fast food place..

Taken here as a Father's Day "treat". To be fair we were going somewhere else but it was booked up. Raining. Went in to Nando's be told there was a 30 minute wait. We said no problem we'll have a drink at the bar. Not possible apparently,as they don't have a bar area where you can just have a drink! The girl said we could go and wait in the bowling alley across the road. When we returned the table was still not ready and we were parked on a couple of chairs in a row..... felt like a bus stop. Eventually the table was ready but when we sat down it had just been wiped with a wet cloth and was soaking. Other tables nearby still full of detritus. A menu was thrown in our direction and we were left. Fifteen minutes later I managed to catch somebody's eye and said we wanted to order. She seemed amused that nobody had told us it was self service, with not even drinks orders being taken at table.We had to queue up and even get our own napkins and cutlery etc.The food selection was extremely limited with almost no concession to anything healthy or anything resembling a vegetable. There was nothing that was not smothered in heavy spices, even their "mildest" was too hot for some, although it helped cover the dryness of the meat and the lack of quality ingredients. I would not like to be a food allergy sufferer in Nando's as I don't think they'd have a clue. There was no real choice of wines and the only beer I fancied was not in stock. This place pretends to be a restaurant and is simply not. It's an expensive KFC without the yumminess. Never, ever again. Mind you, I'm not their target customer.

Came here this evening for dinner. I like nandos but not this branch. It is far too busy with people from the area that don't venture out very far. Tonight the toilets very so dirty and smelly and looked like they hadn't been cleaned for days. I was given a glass with dried crusty food stuck to it and the cutlery was dirty. Food took about 40 minutes to arrive and my burger was missing the cheese that I had paid for. I won't be visiting this branch again I don't like it. Full of kids running the place who obviously don't care about cleanliness and hygiene.

I used to love nandos until i found out the fact they only serve ritually slaughtered halal chicken..so I who is not a Muslim and totally oppose religion cannot in my own country go to a restaurant and eat meat which is killed without being sacrificed to Allah and without having its throat cut and bled to death alive and in agony. ..and yes some are temporarily stunned but it lasts 60 seconds so the poor animal is bleeding to death when it comes around. Disgusting that I am expected to eat such meat that died in agony with all that fear and anxiety in this day of age where we can kill humanely with ritual! nandos think it's ok to serve this and not tell us or give us a choice...I won't eat with this chain again until they serve non halal as a choice and tell people what they are eating. People need to ask what they are eating. ...unless you don't mind eating ritually slaughtered who suffer agonising death in the name of an interpretation of the Koran! Nandos need to give non Muslims a choice!!!

First time visiting a Nando's and this visit does not encourage me to want to go again in a hurry. We were met by a member of staff who told us there would be a fifteen minute wait for a table. Waiting wasn't a problem, as it was very busy, but this staff member was not exactly helpful. Customer service was non-existent. We were squashed onto a bench where we to wait until our table was ready. Although the food may be good, the service was so poor that we left and went elsewhere, before even being seated. A restaurant, even a fast food one, is not just about the food, but also service. On this occasion, it was very poor.

Most people know what the food is like (very good), but "Why oh Why" can't they sort the front doors out? customers take note you will struggle to open them, you have been warned.

This was my first trip to a nandos as my mate who I was visiting took me! What can I say was very impressed & I'm a veggie!!! Even if your not a veggie try the mushroom and houlmi burger - amazing and the chips are amazing :-) Very good and quick service. Can't wait to have one open in Swindon :-)

This restaurant is very popular sharing a site with Frankie and Bennys, Chiquitoes, KFC and a Chinese, along with a mega bowl and cinema. We like this Nandos, it has a great atmosphere along with attentive staff and great food.

had a lovely surprised meal here, staff was really friendly and we didnt have to wait that long for a table even though they was really busy :) food was lovely

Come to this one quite often with my partner. Always enjoy the meal. Good and sometimes quick service depending on when you go. More busy at the weekend but to me worth the wait. Its the best one we go to compaired to others in the city.

Went to Nandos for lunch and was not disappointed. The food was excellent and plenty of it. The service was a little slow, that said they were extremely busy. The customer service was good but think the food was a little over priced. I would go back just to see what its like in the evening.

This Nando's is always busy and on weekends sometimes you have to wait up to 30 mins for a table. Never the less, its one of my favourite Nando's!Good Atmosphere, Tasty food!

Even though we visited on what turned out to be a busy day we were given a table for two relatively quickly and food was ordered and served to us in less than half an hour. Food as always was good and not too expensive. Restaurant is close to cinema and bowling so this could be a day out for people if they wished.
