Nando's in Braintree

Great food and great service. I was with my little baby who made a bit of mess, I was told by Carlos not to worry as that’s what he was here for. Really polite and best customer service I’ve received from any Nandos. You can tell he goes above and beyond for any customer and to make families feel welcome with children is a bonus. Thank you Carlos!

My first experience at nandos in braintree was lovely could not fault the service at all however when revisiting the store I was disgusted The toilets where disgusting firstly secondly , when seated we was told to tell them about any allergies so we did has my mum as a nut allergy . We ordered on there app . Once the drinks arrived I explained to them again that my mum has a nut allergy then the member of staff had a go at use saying we should of gone to counter to order . Why make an app to order if you can't put allergies on there . Thirdly after all of this they then allowed a group of people in to that where eating five guys, 4 members of staff went over to the table but said nothing this was outrageous .

Food was slow to come. When the food did arrive the server put the burger down in front of me, looked at my broken arm in a cast and made the remark “good luck with that one”. Was absolutely disgusted with her behaviour.

Ordered the Family platter today and this comes with 5 large sides. Noticed that recently all large sides boxes are actually half full so you don’t get what you pay for. Last time they gave our order to someone else, haven’t checked the name/number so we had to wait another 30+min for a new order to be ready. They need better management oversight how staff are prepping and issuing orders.

Food was ok. Didn’t like the fact that at 8.45 they decided to start cleaning the floors, hovering around our table constantly asking if we had finished. Lights were then turned out in the restaurant - if they wanted us to leave, I’m sure there are easier ways of asking.

Haven't been to a Nandos for prob 10yrs, oh boy it's changed & for the better!!! Their outta bread meals were out of this world, food was timely, fresh & plenty of it. Staff are pleasant & attentive & go that extra 1%. On top of that I left my purse on the table to which they kept safe for me until I realised & returned to collect, for this I am extremely grateful, thanks Carlos & the team, I will be back ❤️

Riannan and Dan looked after us this evening and were the best colleagues I've met in a restaurant for a long time so friendly and chatty and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. They were a real credit to the restaurant Food was great as usual ! Love coming to this branch

First time in Nandos & I couldn't belive that any restaurant could survive so long serving such awful food. It's getting to the point where it's hardly worth wasting your money on this type of fast food. Which is drowned in cheap sauce and dressing to hide the poor quaility of the meat.. No problem with the staff who were all charming young people. But I'll save my money next time & eat some healthy food at home..

Had a wonderful experience at dinner this evening. Our server, Dan, went above and beyond to welcome us, made us laugh, made us comfy in our surroundings. All staff have smiles on their faces, food was excellent and came quickly. Something to shout about - worth visiting!

We arrived ordered using the app. After 20mins we asked for glasses for our refillable drinks to be told we hadn’t ordered any drinks. We showed our receipt/confirmation and we’re told there had been a “glitch”. We asked of the food order had gone through to be told yes -5 - 10 mins. After 40mins we went in to see what was happening with the food having watched tables around us get served, to be told we’d only ordered 10 mins ago. Receipt confirms otherwise. Was told (again) it’s on its way. My husband complained, and was given discount on food but ruined the whole experience. Wish we had queued for Wagamamas.

Living locally I popped in off chance for lunch and was seated immediately. Staff were friendly and welcoming, explained mobile order but never gave impression there were not on hand if needed. Food arrived promptly and was delicious - even with the Fino Pitta not looking as elegant as the advertising images! I haven’t been to Nando’s for some time and forget how much I enjoy it and how tasty the food is - I will be back

Visited Nados Braintree on the 3rd Jan 4.30pm with a group of 13 of us for birthday celebration, even tho we were a loud party with 6 kids and 7 adults. I really felt that we were treated just the same as anyone else who walked through the door that day. The resturant was very busy and full of atmosphere boosted by smiling floor staff just perfect. food was just as good as the service, prompt, hot and correct!. There was just a couple of things that would of down graded this review to 4 stars like no frozen yogurt available and no coffee was available but in all honesty because of the staff and the manager wich couldn't do enough for our visit totally made up for it well done would be very happy to return any time. thank you for our visit and making our experience amazing

Food arrived promptly, everything was correct and delicious. Staff were fantastic, Michael and his colleagues were helpful and attentive.

Nipped in, spare of the moment visit. My three year old has just hit the terrible twos. The waiter we had, was an absolute diamond in trying to entertain her, and making our visit as less troublesome as possible. I would’ve walked out. The waiter managed to make his company money, make our visit pleasurable. His a credit to this company and his family. Unfortunately he went to lunch before we left, and did not get his name. I hope the staff that cleared our table give him the tip we left. Food was good to.

We visited for an early dinner and after ordering we were made aware by staff that there would be a c20 minute wait. We didn't mind waiting and the staff made sure that we had drinks / asked if we wanted to order any starters etc. When the food came it was really good, as it usually is at Nandos. Brad, who I assume is the manager, came over to us at multiple points during our visit to apologise for the delay and see if he could help us with anything. At the end of our meal Brad came back over and told us he had refunded our food to apologise for the wait (which we really didn't mind). By far the most generous act I've ever experienced at a restaurant and it really made out day. Thanks very much Brad and team!

Rude staff who where outside the front door smoking while customers are waiting, forcing customers to prove there disability in 2020?

Very organised from start to finish, love the virtual queue idea and outdoor waiting area. Food was quick and delicious as always and love the screening of tables. The increased attentive service from the team was impressive as usually table service doesnt happen. Well done.

I went yesterday for my nieces birthday. There were 9 of us and we had booked for 8 people (one joining us at late notice).When we arrived we had been placed in a booth which was far too small for the 8 that we’d booked for - a maximum of 6. We appreciate that it’s sometimes difficult for a busy restaurant to squeeze in an additional person but would expect to be able to fit the 8 that were booked in.

Obviously a typical Nandos with typical Nandos food. Good service. My husband had not been to a Nandos before and enjoyed his meal. A decent meal on the way home from shopping.

After my daughter had initiated me to Nando’s in Norwich last year I was looking for a repeat experience so it was with anticipation that I called into Nandos in Freeport for a late lunch (at 2pm) on Friday. Possibly choosing school holiday time was a mistake on my part, it was packed to the rafters and very noisy. A small queue awaited me inside the door but whereas the constituents of it were shown to a waiting bench I was immediately shown to a table. Being solo had its advantages I thought.

Visited today and was one of the first through the door. Was quickly seated and ordered the food soon after. Chicken was hot and tasty and staff were friendly as well.

The food at this Nandos was absolutely delicious and piping hot.

First, the friendly greeting. Was told how to order and where all the dressings etc were as they are not left on the tables. The food we had was excellent. It was hot and the chicken was cooked just right so it wasn’t chewey. I had a chicken ceaser salad which I can honestly say was the best I had eaten in years and the portion size was very generous. We didn’t have to wait long for our food either. I will definitely return.

I love Nandos - but this Braintree branch is really letting the brand down. Having waited 25 minutes for our food - 2 of us were were served cold food (when we returned it it came back very dry and tatsteless - so we assume they simply reheated the 'cold' food rathr than giving us a fresh replacement). one had the wrong order and another was missing a side. The staff were apologetic - as they were the last time I ate there 3 months ago and had a very similar experience. I will still happily visit Nandos but I will not go back to the Braintree one again. We were there for a pre-cinema meal - at least it saved us a few £ as the time it took us to get 1 course meant we didnt have time for dessert!

Nice food, service was good, the young ladys were so kin to clean tables quick and almost wanted to tell you to leave just as you had last bite of food. Never been in this one before location and parking is great. Recommended.

Visited with a large group to find dirty cutlery and rude service. The girl at the till continuously swore and messed up the order. Only once everyone had got their food did we realize that one was missing even though we had checked at the till that each persons food was on there . One girl was lovely but was let down by the rude girl .Not impressed as we spent a large amount won’t be coming back disappointed.

Family thought we'd try Nando's and unfortunately it was the worst birthday meal I have had.

Its chicken so always good, sometimes perfectly cooked but not this time. The problem was sorted but we had a waiting of 30m for a new platter. The worst was the overall aspect of the restaurant. Needs more attention to detail when it comes to cleanness.

Good location - with ability to sit half-inside half-out on hot days/evenings. Friendly helpful staff. Food good. Well located for cinema etc. Parking can be a hassle on busy evenings. Easy slope from blue badge parking area.

Food is always really good as is all Nando's but the service was just ok and quite dirty looking which isn't nice to see when you are eating your food

We decided on a quick bite to eat after the cinema with my 3 grandchildren. What a totally waste of £47. The toilets and table area were filthy alongside the lack of cleanliness behind he bar area I was shocked. A girl with long blonde hair talking beside the coffee machine whilst I was waiting to be served just staring into space. It was relitivly busy but not enough staff or if there was no one was to be seen helping people and just so so loud. I doubt I’ll ever return to this branch from going to Chelmsford many times and had different experiences

Came upon opening and ordered food straight away. Tasty and fast although I feel sometimes there aren’t enough waiters.

Never eat at nados it's so bad you can't get food for the money you pay never ever go again you don't get what you want you get what a baby wants

If you like to shout to the person next to you, this is the place for you. If you like a quiet place where ear defenders don't need to be worn then bypass this place.

We visited this restaurant last night and it was disgusting, something had happened in the disabled toilet and not been cleaned properly, i dont want to know what i was stepping in, there was rotting food in the plant pot i was sat by, aircon was broken and manager refused to open windows, it was so hot i felt sick, no ice in the machine and water was warm it was terrible. Manager had a bad attitude when staff asked if we could open a window and shrugged her shoulders saying it was tough.... Never again

great food and good service well worth the money will be back again as still loads to try on the menu

I am dairy free and gluten free so eating out can be difficult. Nando’s were fantastic. When I mentioned I had allergies a manager had to check the order. They were very efficient and adjusted the order with bits I couldn’t have. The food was great, service was good. They even had dairy free ice cream! The website is excellent and you can search what you can have if you have allergies. I thoroughly recommend Nando’s if you have allergies but great for everyone.

If you dont like spice, do not visit. Simple as that!

Had lunch here at the weekend. My first visit to a Nando’s. The place was really busy but we didn’t have to wait too long. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was excellent though. We all choose different meals and there were no complaints from anyone. I will definitely be back there. It’s also great value and high quality food

It’s just overpriced chicken, I don’t get it. Staff standing around talking to each other, while I have to get up walk past them to the till to place my order and after the queuing try to remember everyone’s food, then shout across the restaurant when you didn’t ask how hot everyone wanted their chicken. Then you have to go and get your own cutlery napkins, sauces and drinks. Whoever came up with this conception needs shooting, it’s stupid. KFC up the road is exactly the same but half the price.

The formula works wherever you go this chain delivers consistency and good chicken dishes a with some lovely side options . Can’t fault it

Been a few times and on the whole it’s a decent place for a bite to eat; However sadly things can be let down by the large groups of teenager parties they seem to hold here. On several times we have had to sit next to large tables of 10+ where loud screeching, swearing teenagers are being allowed to behave like feral animals with complete and utter disregard for the rest of customers within the restaurant. The staff fail to manage the groups and at no point see a problem with the behaviour of these large parties. The last time we experienced this; we could hardly hear each other across our small table and at no point did the staff feel it necessary to address the situation which was actually unbelievable. It ruined our night and more than likely the evening of other diners who no doubt felt the same, that the staff didn’t have the b_alls to tell the riff raff pipe down and to respect their fellow diners.

If you love spicy chicken this is the place for you, Love the fact you can choose how spicy you want your chicken, and you can even had more with their free sauces on offer.

If you're on a shopping day in Freeport then just pop in to have a great meal. The idea of getting your own knife and fork and sauces is a little much but other than that it's fine we love it there.

This Nandos is excellent we couldn't have wished for better food. The staff are friendly and the settings is perfect. It's a really good dinner place if you are going to the cinema or the are cafe next door.

If you like chicken then a visit to Nandos is a must. If you like fiery HOT chicken then Nandos is a definite must. Chicken available on the bone, off the bone and different ‘hot’ levels. Great quick service, comfortable surroundings. Nice place to visit before the cinema or bowling.

Visited here with my husband for a meal one afternoon before the cinema. The restaurant was quite empty, so we were seated in a booth straight away by a friendly member of staff. We ordered our usual (full platter with refillable drinks) and were surprised with how quickly the food was brought out! We had thought we were cutting it fine before our film, but ended up finishing with plenty of time. The food was all delicious and perfectly cooked. The only oddity was that they seemed to be out of straws, but we could live with that. We will definitely be returning here again!

This is a good restaurant, especially as part of a growing chain. Good 'smiley' service from the staff and well organised. We arrived on a Saturday lunchtime when the place was in full flow but the service was efficient. You go here for the chicken and it was good, 5 of us dining and we all had something different on the menu and heat scale and we were all equally happy. Mild, spicy or hot chicken our food was good and reasonably price as well as being in a good family atmosphere.Yes I / we would go back to this Braintree restaurant and explore the menu and the 'heat scale' more in the future, worth a drop in once you've spent your money in Freeport!

Nandos are a really good chain of resturants but this branch does stand out to me as we go here quite often while at Freeport, The service here is exceptional fast and friendly. The food is simple but good value for money due to portion size and quality of the food, You certainly have it your way in Nandos as they always cater for all tastes

Popped in to see if there was any possibility they could cater for our young daughter with multiple food allergies. The girl greeting was very helpful and reassured us they could make her something and that the grill etc is cleaned down beforehand to avoid cross contamination. We were handed a thorough allergy menu. When my husband ordered they were considerate and checked the allergies. The manager even checked we were happy. My daughter loved it and no reactions!!! Would definitely recommend to anyone with allergies

Came on a Thursday about 4pm so it was really quiet. Food came quickly and was yummy. Ordered desserts which were also nice. The booth we sat in could have been done with being refurbished as the seats are stained and torn. Friendly staff and nice restaurant in general. NHS staff also get 20% off the bill - bonus!

My first experience of Nando's so it took a little while after sitting down to realise that you had to go up to the counter and order your own food! All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and once you worked your way around the menu there was a good choice and the food was nice. It was crazy busy so having a table next to the main thoroughfare to the limitless drinks wasn't great. They have a nice water machine for free for those that don't want an endless supply of fizz. I didn't feel it was a relaxing eating experience. Up and down for ordering, collecting cutlery or getting drinks. This is definitely a fast food outlet but with plates and higher prices. Just not my cup of tea I guess so I won't be on the lookout for a Nando's anytime soon - or ever!

Visited today for a late lunch, received a lovely warm welcome at the door and taken to our chosen seat. Both ordered our food separately, Courtney at the till helped me to choose as I couldn't quite decide. Food came out and we were both really satisfied with what we had, especially with their peri peri salt. Overall really enjoyed our dinner here today.

I'm a regular visitor when I come back to visit family in Essex. It's an easy place to go too because the food is nice and it's quick. We had to wait 5 minutes for them to get us a table but it was busy so I won't hold that against them. Once seated went and ordered food. By the time I had gone got my cutlery and drink my starter just arrived at the table! Perfect!The main food followed about 5 minutes later which was ideal. My food was perfect until I got to my wrap and it didn't have its chilli jam in, something that happens on a regular basis at many Nando's I have visited. I can live without it but I do really look forward to it so they lose a point from me and get a 4 for that.The service was excellent and the staff were very pleasant and helpful when there was an issue. I will be going again as it is a good place for a nice quick enjoyable sit down meal. But next time I will make sure I ask for extra chilli jam!

I can't fault the restaurant or the service. The food was pretty good too, but my preference would be something else in one of the local other restaurants.Maybe I'm getting old - and so I give a good rating as they should not be faulted for my snobbery. :)

Greeted at the door with a smile menu was good as I suffer with a bad stomach I needed plain chicken no spices there Apple juice is much healthier that my normal Tango the chip were enough and I had s great time

We have been in this town to visit a friend and we have decided to eat lunch here (we have eaten before in Nando's near where we live so we know it). Food was good and service also was fine. The place was full but didn't take much to have our table and plus the lady in the entrance took our name so they was following a list.

We have heard so much about how great Nando,s was as a place to eat.£30 + for what basically is chicken and chips is a joke. The music also was far to loud to sit and relax. The staff were all very friendly and the service was also good.The BIG disappointment was the so called dessert, it was unbelievable. I had my ice cream served in a carboard tub but my wife was speechless when her custard tart arrived. We could have called the staff back but since the duty manager had served the custard tart we decided it was not worth while. Our reason for this is quite simple, we could not believe that anybody could serve such a small and burnt dessert to a paying customer especially a person in charge. The price was also for the custard tart was far to high, we could have gone to Tesco and purchased two for £1 and they are a far better custard tart. Our first and last visit due to the load music and especially the manager thinking it was acceptable to serve us the so called custard tart, truly awful

Visited after shopping at the freeport village. Very attentive staff and friendly. Food arrived fairly quickly and thoroughly enjoyed it. Decent sized portions and probably one of the better nandos that I have eaten in.

One of our pleasant dining experiences is at Nando's! We love the chicken flavor, not to mention the variety of sauces they have. They have great food combos and food varieties.

Me and my fiancé dined in this restaurant last night, as we always do when heading to watch a film at the cinema. We were seated at around 7pm, and a couple next to us were seated 5 minutes after, and they received their food before us. This restaurant was severely understaffed, the kitchen staff had to help the floor staff which in my eyes wasn't quite right. Overall, a pleasant experience but felt bad for all the overworked staff. When we left my fiancé stood on a chicken wing bone.

Not often would I give a Nando's 5/5 but I have found the service here to be top notch on every visit. This time there were around 15 of us ordering in the standard Nando's fashion and the food on a busy night was quick hot and tasty. But as always the staff at this particular Nando's are the shining light. Always helpful, always polite, nothing is ever too much bother. Smiles on faces they are a well managed team.

Was fairly empty but waited a few minutes for the hostess to seat up. About tens minutes later it started to fill up. Haven't been to a British for some years and was keen to see how it compares to the states. Menu is practically the same but more expensive. You pick what you want and order at the bar and then take your drinks or glasses for the soda which is free refills. Had a water but it's tap and tasted vile so had to go back and get a bottle. The chicken breast in mango and lime with fries and the wrap with rice were all very hot and tasted good. The rice could do with a bit more flavor though. Did not have dessert as not very appetizing and never feel they have a good choice. The main toilet is upstairs and quite a trek. The waitress did tell us about the loyalty when we ordered too.

Was OK but nothing really special would not rush to go again bit like eating in a large ballroom and noisy because it seems to have a busy turn over . Its a chain so maybe others are better staff seemed a little tired nothing really sparkled

This was our first meal at Nando's. A whole new eating experience for my husband and I.On entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a waitress who enquired if we had been to Nando's before and, as we had not, enlightened us to how the system works. After being shown to the table and then choosing a meal, this is has to be ordered and paid for at the bar. By the way, drinks are unlimited. As I was concerned about "piri-piri" being too hot, the cashier explained, in detail, the different ways of infusing the meats. The dish can be as mild or spicy to taste.The restaurant has an inviting décor and a clean appearance. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their helpfulness and friendliness. We had a most enjoyable lunch.We will definitely visit again.

My first Nando's meal for over 5 years!Not much has changed on the menu in all that time, the experience has not changed and yet it continues to be a successful chain.Service was quick, no fault with the food, chicken cooked well and the salad very good.The pomegranate dressing was the highlight for me, bottomless soft drinks always great for us drivers and no complaints about the prices.Will I wait another 5 years? As long as there are more exciting places to eat, then yes.

Came here with my eldest daughter for a quick bite to eat. I ordered the Quinoa salad with chicken, me daughter the chicken burger n fries. My salad ticked all the boxes and more. It was fresh, fabulous and very tasty. Absolutely thrilled to have a salad that waa that good. Service very good, clean, helpful staff, great first time experience at Nandos.

Ate here with a friend, not expecting great things just usual ok fare. Firstly surprised by the excellent staff in particular a young pregnant woman who was brilliant. She was very helpful and industrious when she wasn't serving she was cleaning or setting tables she didn't stop. And I must say even the chicken was cooked perfectly. I wouldn't normally bother commenting on a restaurant like this unless it was awful or in this case really very good.

Nando's is a chain of restaurants with a Portuguese theme selling mostly chicken dishes although there is at least one steak dish and several vegetarian on the menu. Shown to table, order at counter (remember your table number) and then collect your cutlery and napkins on the way back to your table. Soft drinks are serve yourself after paying. Service was quick and the staff pleasant. Food quality was average and prices good.
