Fuimos a comer sobre las 14:00h sin reserva y nos atendieron. Tienen menú del día variado. Pedimos de primero la sopa del día que era de champiñones, y de segundos un pollo a la brasa con una salsa muy rica, y el bistec de ternera muy bueno también.

A friend recommended the Mustard Seed and we were glad we went! We chose from the early bird menu - watermelon salad, and goats cheese mousse to start, both delicious. Followed by chicken, and seabass, again delicious. There is a great atmosphere and the service is excellent - professional yet friendly. We will definitely be back here when we're next in Inverness.

17 came together to celebrate. Our table was shaped like a "U", which was so much better than an extra long table. So nice to be able to talk more to different ones. Immediately we were offered drinks. Food was prompt and delicious. Excellent choice from the pre-theatre menu at only £19.95 for 2 courses. Many of my party, said they would be back. Thank you for making it special with the pudding flares.

Came for a 2 course early evening meal prior to a performance at Eden Court. Excellent value (much better than neighbouring restaurants) and plenty of choice. The portion sizes were just right, and the staff (including our server Anna) were extremely pleasant and attentive. Oh, and the food was superb!

First time at the Mustard seed- I’m very disappointed at the meal! We were sat in a very large group back to back and couldn’t speak to each other. The service was great and friendly staff but the meal was shocking… steaks were stone cold and fatty 🤢. Starter was disgusting also with prawns mixed with vinegar, cream spread and some other weird seasonings.

Unfortunate place. Seems to much interested in quick cash and forgo service. Had a reservation made only to be turned away at the doorstep. I guess reservation for 1 is not profitable? Reason was fully booked at the restourant all night. I wonder what is fully booked when someone wt reservation gets turned away. Well ratings won't last and people will move along to the next restaurant. They will be better than you in no time.

We ate good fish, especially cooked without garlic.

Too expensive for such a small quantity served…

A classy but comfortable spot for dinner in Inverness. Definitely worth getting a reservation to ensure you get a table. While I wouldn't call it kid-friendly, our 16-year-old declared it the best meal of our week in the Highlands.

Great food and ambience with a good vibe. We had Kallie as our waitress and she was top notch. Young, intelligent, attentive, humorous and interesting. She really was the icing on the cake that made for a great night. I’d highly recommend this restaurant not just for the food but also the quality of the staff.

Fantastic food. Terrible service. Me and my husband came in for dinner last week, never have i had such an unprofessional waitress (Holly?). She shifted our cutlery out the way to place a tray of drinks on our table and crammed them in. She took our order in a very rude manner then proceeded to take our cutlery away with little to no words. Would come back for the food but would hope for better service.

Absolutely loved this place! The fire place in the centre of the restaurant makes you feel so welcomed straight away. Sea bass as a main dish was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend 🫶🏻

I can highly recommended this amazing restaurant with delicious food and thanks to Angelina who served us for being efficient, kind, with a sharp sense of humour.

We booked this restaurant as it was very highly recommended, and I believe that if you are a meat eater you may enjoy the food. I am vegan and my friend only eats fish so we went for the options we could eat, and didn’t find the food amazing. I had the vegan olive salad starter and it was very sweet for my taste with lots of fruit in it, but still pleasant. My main, though, was a plate of gnocchi which was just not great. Very sweet and overall not good. This is of course for my taste. My friend had the fried goat cheese plate with potatoes and beetroot, and it was nice but the goat cheese being fried was very heavy in her opinion and the dish needed something fresher. Her main was the scallops special and she said it was “ok”. It’s very hard to give a review as we were excited to go and the service was good, the waitresses were lovely, and the place had nice atmosphere, but we were disappointed by the food, especially the vegetarian options. Nonetheless I have to say they had a separate vegan menu, and they could cater for me, so there were options at least!

Don't miss a fantastic dining experience. I would advise you book no matter what day as always busy but when you taste the food and get great service you understand why.

The mustard seed is a fantastic restaurant that we ate 2 nights in a row. First night we where up the stairs which had views out onto the river ness and the second night we where down the stairs. Both nights our food was excellent and the tart to start was one of the best iv eating. The chicken breast and steak where really excellently cooked and the scottish tablet cheesecake has to be a must when you visit. The staff where really busy and really good. Will definitely be back next time.

We were so excited to have dinner at the Mustard Seed. We made our reservation months in advanced and it came highly recommended. We arrived on time and we were promptly seated and ordered our first course, entrees and cocktails. Our server was nice but not too knowledgeable on details of dishes or specials. Our cocktails arrived timely and all was looking great. About 20 mins after ordering we were informed that the appetizer on their special was no longer available. We chose something else and it was fine. Then comes where everything went down hill. We waited for well past an hour for our entrees. In fact we asked our server and she said they had a large party. But we ordered before the large party and they had already received their food. In fact another table of two who were seated after us also already had their food. So now we have waited over an hour and we need to leave. And of course we are told ours is coming out right now but that the duck had to rest. Hahahaha good one. Anyways we offered to pay for our drinks, they said don’t worry, clearly they knew they screwed up. All it would have taken was for someone to come and speak with us especially since after complaining to our server and she went and spoke to the manager, the ball was dropped majorly. But special thanks to MacGregors Bar who gave us a recommendation for a late night food place Scotch & Rye that quickly served us a great dinner. These two places are where you should spend you time and money when in Inverness.

Really enjoyed everything. We walked in for the early seating and were pleasantly surprised with the selections, serving sizes and quality food. The mash was made from potatoes, not mash powder. Really popular place. Book ahead!

The atmosphere and service were nice, the food just ok. The mushroom soup and fish dishes were bland for my taste, steak nothing to write home about. Overall, nothing special but pricey.

Excellent food. Service not so great. We reserved for an extra special occasion yet we’re not treated that way. The door greeter got the wrong name when we checked in. We were sat at a very small table where nothing really fitted without jamming it in. Others couples were sat at larger tables with a river view. The server was more like a fast food server and not a higher end restaurant server. Things were just dropped on the table with very few or no words. It was if the servers were trained to get customers out fast. Not great for this type of restaurant , anything but a romantic meal for our special occasion. If you want to celebrate a special occasion choose another restaurant.

Nice food, visited mid week after booking. Service was good but seemed a little rushed and chaotic, staff slamming plates down but think more to do perhaps with weight of them? Also is there any need for those poor waiter girls to be carrying the boards around for specials? Just give us all a leaflet. Good food overall.

My wife and I visited today to use vouchers we had received as a wedding gift last summer. Unfortunately I am sure today's visit was not what the gifter would have wanted for us. We were slightly early for our booking, but this was not an issue and we were ushered to our ready table, by a friendly waiter (Ewan I believe). We weren't seated long before bread was placed on the table and only moments later our order taken, both drinks and food. Luckily we were ready to provide both. We both ordered the chicken tenderloins to start and for main, my wife decided on the rump steak and I the pork sausage, beef and mushroom casserole. Starters arrived very swiftly and we must say both enjoyable. But I think k that's where all the positives stop. Mains came out and say we weren't overly thrilled would be the summation of this course. The rump although presented nicely, was tough to cut ( even with steak knife as well as quite grizzly. My casserole looked good in the dish with puff pastry lid a top, although the side of mash looked like it had just been slapped on the plate with no effort or thought. Unfortunately these were luke warm at best. The puff pastry stone cold and the casserole piping hot. Not I am sure how it was meant to be presented. About half way through our course, we were asked the obligatory "is everything OK with your meal?" At which I probably pulled a face and notioned to the potato in particular. Moments later the manager came across and did apologise, offering fresh hot potato. Although I appreciated the gesture it seemed a little late considering I was almost finished my course. We both had pudding, the mango cheesecake. Although presented beautifully had little taste. We have frequented this restaurant a lot in the last couple of years and the service and food has been of a decent standard, but I think the last couple times we haven't felt the experience to be at its best. I have worked in hospitality before, both fro the facing and in the kitchen and appreciate how tough it can be when busy, however I think I would prefer that my food came out a little later in order that it was served at the right heat and correct presentation rather than rushed out.

I recently enjoyed a delicious lunch at Mustard Seed on Monday, March 18. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was inviting, and the food was tasty. The set menu offered excellent value, with a starter and main for £15.50. I opted for the steak, which was an additional £3.95 and well worth it. Great knowledge on gluten-free dishes too. The restaurant has received too many customers, at the expense of quality. Before, this used to be my restaurant. My wife actually got food poisoning from the mussel. The mussel also was too creamy without balance. The ingredients like fish were fresh. I have to admit. Yet, the way they treated the fish were disappointing. The skin wasn’t perfectly crispy as it should be, while the fish meat was overcooked. I am regretfully sorry to say this to the place I used to like a lot.

Server we had needs to have better knowledge of how to serve/treat people in food industry on my birthday. Last night was far better as had boss lady serving. Was given 2 vouchers as birthday night out wasn't up to scratch and not as good as I hoped. Last night 8.3.24 was good. One or 2 people can make or break a enjoyable night out.

Coming from London we have great steak restaurants. However, none of them compare with the quality of the meat we ate at the Mustard Seed. We had ribeye and fillet and it was exceptional! Truly delicious meat, sweet and cooked to perfection. the entire dinner was perfect. Local mussels, meaty and succulent. Finished off with local cheesecake and ice cream. Not a single fault! Went for lunch with a friend and choose risotto when it came it looked like a plate of sick! It was over cooked slop took one mouth and left it. Ate my side salad. We liked it. They have an ample menu, with specials on the side. We were quickly seated and were able to pick an option from the early dinner menu and another from the specials board. This place has a deserved reputation. I booked the lunchtime table online it was very straightforward. On arrival the place was busy for a Thursday in January. We both had the special which was haggis, neeps and tatties in tribute to Robert Burns because it was the 25th January. We didn't wait long and it was so nice we also had a pudding which was just as good. Highly recommended and the staff were lovely.
