Muse in Stockton-on-Tees

Yet another great experience. We’ve been coming here for over 30 years since it’s days as Chadwick’s and it’s still our go to restaurant . Well done team.

Muse has become our “go-to” breakfast and coffee destination in Yarm. Great quality food and we’ll made coffees, alongside friendly service, and nice surroundings

Came for breakfast for mother's day with my family and was beautiful. The food was cooked gorgeous lovely drinks too. The service was friendly from being greeted to the waiters. Definitely be returning

Great atmosphere, great serve, and most of all great fresh food full of flavour !! Second time visiting muse, the scallops to start are beautiful and the prawns are fantastic. For mains we got the salmon. This was a perfectly balanced pallet.

Ate there tonight can't say enough food off the scale service above and beyond. Definitely be back

Out for breakfast with my boy of 8 years and we dropped into Muse, I had the English Breakfast my Son had the muse oat milk porridge with banana and nuts and he loved every mouthful ! My breakfast was quality cooked to perfection and well presented. The staff were extremely friendly and kind. Also my Son had two Hot chocolate drinks saying these were the best he has ever had. I would highly recommend this establishment it's not cheap but good food is worth paying for ...excellent

The food is always amazing but the Valentine’s special menu was really well thought out. Just enough of each portion with quality ingredients.

Only place I trust to deliver consistently when I eat out with friends or for an occassion.

I had a look at all the bad reviews to get an idea of what the place might be like at its worst, only to see someone deciding that white pepper on swede was an unidentifiable spice unsuitable for sunday roast. I decided to try the place anyway since I'm not a NIMBY like that person. Food was phenomenal, staff were excellent, greeted when we walked in and tried hardest to find a table with no booking, had to wait half an hour but went down the road to the pub in the meantime. When we came back food was delivered in the expected time and after dining in various Gordon Ramsay establishments, Marco Pierre White's, Michelin Starred restaurants and highly rated locations throughout Europe and the USA, this meal was undoubtedly the best thing I've eaten. It was the braised beef. Absolutely stunning. PS. anyone complaining about portion sizes and price, get yourself to the chip shop instead.

Food and service are always very good, and meue selection at other lunch and dinner is extensive. Have been dining here for years and have always been satisfied.

Booked via OpenTable but on arrival we were told that there was no confirmation on their system. I showed the email/sms showing the confirmation and they were happy to honour the reservation. A few minutes later the head waiter informed us that the confirmation had just come through. We had a lovely meal consisting of a Sunday roast and a cod dish followed by a lovely crumble. Service was very good

Excellent dining experience but please do not add the voluntary service charge to the bill. It makes it embarrassing for customers and staff when you ask them to remove it! If people choose to pay extra for excellent service, they will do. But don’t try and force people to do so. It’s like paying the checkout person at Tesco for putting your shopping through checkout.

Superb service throughout, staff are warm, welcoming and charming. Great variety on both the early bird & a la carte menus. Minimal waiting time before the delicious food arrived. Muse is a firm favourite, we visit often and everything is always to a high standard. Thank you Team Muse!

Family evening ruined We were allocated a table for 4 behind the entrance door which was a waiting area and draughty. A very rowdy group were waiting and the language they were using was not appropriate. Also someone vaping in the entrance doorway in full view. Fortunately the quality of the food was good. We decided to leave after main course which was a shame as we were looking forward to a good evening.

Went in with high expectations as this restaurant was recommended by a few friends of mine Positive to start: stone bass was lovely and very different dish to what I’d usually go for . Wine was lovely too. Dessert was pretty nice and presentation of all dishes was great. Service was pretty good overall, smiles and frequent visits. A little bit underwhelmed by the quality of the dishes , think it was a case over over promising and under delivering on a couple of them. In our humous we found a piece of solid black plastic - these things happen , so I raised it to the waitress just so they knew and didn’t kick up a fuss. However it wasn’t particularly acknowledged or taken off the bill meaning I had to ask when it came to it. (Maybe a lack of comms to her superior ) they did knock it off. My starter was pretty dry so I didn’t finish it which was a shame and my partners pate had a grainy texture :(

Met a friend for lunch today, it was absolutely fabulous from start to finish! Fantastic choice of food, from fixed price menu to light lunches & a la carte. We both had the seafood pancake with Thermidor sauce from the light lunch menu, it came with french fries & a lovely salad that even had strawberries in, it was really delicious. We then had sticky toffee pudding & the carrot cake for dessert, both amazing. The atmosphere was great & the service was outstanding, we’ll definitely be back. Would strongly recommend.

Lovely place to eat. Nice and bustley. The service is excellent. Food is very good and well priced with good selection of wine. There could be a real ale on draught.

The fillet steak was fatty and chewy and my wife left most of it. We had to ask for it to be taken off our bill as they didn't do it automatically when we complained about the steak.

Still my favourite place to treat myself to breakfast. As a vegi it's lovely to have more than 1 option and for them to actually have had thought put into them

Really enjoyed our dinner last night. Steak and truffles chips is my new definition of happiness!

As usual the food is of that level hard to define. The Sunday lunch option was value for money and well cooked and presented. Took a while to arrive but it was very busy. One chicken dish option was a bit light on fries, bordering on a snack portion. Overall, recommended.

Food amazing, service perfect, could not help enough, fast efficient. Slightly pricey but worth every penny. Sea food pancake, needs a Michelin star!

Food is of a consistently good standard with a reasonably priced lunch menu. The restaurant was almost full, although I only booked a couple of hours before going.

As usual Muse lived up to our expectations one of our favourite eating places

1) no vegan menu 2) porridge was not the same as had previously sicky sweet 3) dont like service charge added - feel pressured by this, more than happy to leave a tip but not happy about the added charge. Pay the staff properly! 4) coffee was lovely! 5) no good value, most of the tabke were disappointed with an element of the brekkie

A fab evening at Muse, food was excellent, portions good but remember to add sides to your mains. Service and ambiance good, will return 👍

Lovely breakfast. I had the French toast and it was delicious. My girlfriend had the banana bread and she thoroughly enjoyed it. A lovely environment to start the day with good service. Keen to try the dinner menu now.

Really good food met Sarah the chef! She has a bright future. Wine prices a touch high for the quality and the gratuity add on was too high so we reduced Overall excellent we all enjoyed

Eight of us were dining and all the food was excellent. Staff very lovely and there was even a great alcohol free beer! Lovely ambience even though lunchtime. Will definitely be back.

Nicely decorated restaurant with a good menu. Both the eggs royale and florentine were excellent with good quality ingredients.

Food and service really good .... i have no issue with leaving a 'tip' and usually leave around 10% ...Muse have a Discretionary 12.5% automatically added which in my personal opinion is excessive.. A good percentage of customers might feel uncomfortable asking for a reduced percentage

We dined on New Year’s Eve and were treated warmly and the restaurant had a great atmosphere on the evening. I am vegetarian and my wife is vegan so we knew pretty much before we dined what dishes we were going to eat. The parsnip soup starter was excellent very tasty and presented well. The main course of beetroot wellington looked attractive on the plate but was not worth the £20 price as the wellington was very small and the garnish of mushrooms and beetroot although tasty was very small. I am glad we ordered a side of chips which I feel should have been included considering the size of the main course. Would recommend the restaurant very nice dining experience but the vegan/vegetarian options could be improved and increased in portion size for the price being charged.

Went out with some friends. We received great service and the food was great. They catered for my nut allergy and explained what I could and couldn’t eat. Even the fryer that they use for other foods they made my own potatoes in it's own separate pan. Will definitely go back.

We absolutely love this place and eat there about once a month. Today however the food service was very slow - other tables around us who came in later got their food much quicker. Think our order was missed in the kitchen. It was an hour after arrival that our starter arrived and a similar wait for our main. A bit disappointed as this was a lunch out with a very good friend.

Went for an anniversary meal with my wife and we both loved it. The food was amazing and so was the service. The only minor point for me was the chairs weren’t comfortable for me but everything else was brilliant and we will definitely be going back.

Always love MUSE - the food and atmosphere, although I am so disappointed that eggs benedict with the gorgeous ham is not on the menu anymore!!! If I ask for a nice quiet table, I usually get one, much appreciated. Have been coming here for many years and hope that we can continue to do so.

I moved to Yarm just over a year ago and thought i would give this place a go. A feiend and I booked a table for 4pm a Saturday. The food was truly outstanding. Really tasty. I would recommend Muse to anyone. The menu is ĺush. The staff are really lovely and i found table sèrvice A☆. A great all round experience

We had a lovely Christmas lunch, our waiter was lovely (I dont recall his name) but he was attentive, funny, and remembered small details, who was drinking what, and made our meal feel more special! The food was as usual outstanding, and my gluten free friend was very happy with the choices available to her! Thank you for a lovely lunch! Xx

A lovely welcome from staff, very helpful, friendly and attentive but not hovering around us. Food was gorgeous, we had 2 course set meal and was very good value!! Would definitely recommend!

4 of us went for dinner. 3 of us had cheese souffle to start which were delicious as were the scallops for my wife although £17 for 2 scallops seemed pretty steep. My wife had fillet steak for main which she loved,I had guinea fowl which was dry although accompaniments were very good,1 3rd guest had cod and 4th guest had pasta which they said were ok. Total bill including 10% and wine was £297 not really justified based on our experience. Atmos great and staff friendly and helpful

Am impromptu lunch. Service was expedient, pleasant and friendly. The room was a bit noisy but not disturbingly so - it was quite crowded and we were glad we had booked. The starter (terine) was nicely presented and the flavours of the game and the cherries mixed well. I had pork loin for main course. Nicely presented, served with a yummy jus and parsnips which were cooked perfectly. The accompanying veg included red cabbage which had a nice festive flavour. My friend had pheasant suet pudding and suet was new to him. He enjoyed it trmendously and comented this was the second excellent luch we've had at Muse in the last couple of months. Overall I can rcommend Muse strongly.

A lovely relaxed meal at Muse, charming and prompt service and some very delicious food. The salmon dish was outstanding, as were the fries then the sticky toffee pudding was to die for ! Generous glasses of reasonably priced white wine. Very good value for money

Great place for dining. Elegant atmosphere and vibes, tasty food and impeccable service. I had the Muse French Toast and it was lovely. Planning to visit again soon.

Lunch with a friend, and really enjoyed it as always. It’s my favourite restaurant, because of the excellent menu, great service and contemporary style, plus the quality of the food itself of course. The high standards are consistent and reliable. It can sometimes be a tad noisy chatter-wise, to do with the acoustics and all the hard surfaces I think, because the tables are spaced well enough apart to feel private. It wouldn’t stop me going again though!.

The food was good, but the service was so extremely slow

We went to the Muse again last night. Staff really looked after us, nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, I had the Fillet Steak, which was cooked to perfection,and my wife had the Braised Pork, which she really enjoyed. To finish off we both had a dessert. Overall we had a great evening, great staff and good food.

Food was amazing and so tasty. Service was excellent and was warm, lovely and cosy in here too will definitely be back

Has been very reliable for several years. The absence of much in the way of soft furnishings means that it can be a little noisy at times, especially for elderly people who can be a bit hard of hearing.

Warm welcome from friendly and attentive staff, who dealt with food allergy extremely well. Food was excellent; great atmosphere.

Lovely food on a quiet Sunday evening, my wife thought the salmon was one of the best meals she has had, service excellent, thought prices quite reasonable for the quality of food.

Great experience: we've been for breakfast and it was delicious. The staff is very professional and friendly. We enjoyed the lovely atmosphere which was perfect for a Sunday morning.

Staff were very friendly and helpful but the food wasn’t for me, the jumbo prawns were inedible and the pheasant was very over cooked , I tried to return my dish and I got charged the full amount which is understandable but I wasn’t offered a replacement or any other dish and it was on the high end of price so I expected more and they made us tip without giving us the option for how much when I didn’t even get to eat a meal

The food was superb. We really enjoyed the food and wine. It was busy on a Wednesday lunchtime which is good that we wont lose Muse but the tables felt cramped together so it was nt possible to have a private conversation.

Always enjoy muse we come quite a lot for breakfast and lunch time Sunday lunch wasn’t as nice as the last time . . But maybe a Diffrent chef on ? But still a great place

I totally recommend Sunday evening music nights in Muse. It’s the usual excellent food and service but with the wonderful tunes from a very talented Tom Powell. It’s a great way to end the weekend!

Had a lovely Sunday dinner with the family. Could not fault the food, service or venue. Will definitely go back. I had the roast beef and it was one of the best I've had. Then sticky toffee pudding, well why not !? :)
