Muri Indian in Welwyn Hatfield

Food was OK but no chilli heat at all considering the lamb was supposed to be medium hot. The chicken was in fact sweet. Portion sizes were half what we expected and half the lentils had spilt in the bag during transit. Not overly impressed. Very disappointed as we were expecting great things from the reviews we had read. However, delivery was fast, just half an hour.

Simply decorated. Unusual menu (including venison, buffalo, monkfish) Quality ingredients. Deliciously cooked. Nicely presented. Good value. Unhurried service.

Salmon tikka was cooked perfectly and very testy. Very good and quick delivery. I will order from here again.

Everything was delicious apart from the chicken in the curries wasn’t grilled chicken tikka, it was just plain chicken.

Ordered food at 6pm to be delivered at 7pm (1 hours notice) Food arrived at 7.30pm and was cold and sweaty, when I called and asked where our food was I was met with an attitude and told “they were just running late” no apology. Have ordered food a few times and have noticed a decline. Also, you cannot pay by card online (even when you choose this option) and to add insult to injury the delivery driver had about £3 worth of change he was scratching around in his pockets for, when we were owed £5. Will be looking for a new place to order our curries, from now on.

Wonderful food hot and delicious every time

The food was piping hot when it arrived early & this restaurant offers different dishes, which makes a nice change. The prawns were well cooked, not overdone, and the lamb lean & tender. Thoroughly enjoyed our take away! Thank you!!

Was recommended this place by friends…. It didnt dissapoint. Food was really tasty and had so much flavour. Delivery was quick and the food was still hot. The only small issue was the sauce was a tad watery however it wouldnt stop me from ordering again. One of the nicest take aways we have had in a long time. Also price wasnt too bad either 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Curry source is good but two of three King Prawns are in very poor quality: the meat is been deteriorated to very mushy texture!

First time ordering from here. Food was very good. Not just the standard dishes although they did have the usual suspects. We tried some house specials which were very good. No food dye and well spiced. Definitely be ordering again.

Ordered a takeaway and have used them before food wasn’t ready on the time but it was another 40 mins when I said I didn’t want it they said they couldn’t credit me unless I drove back with the card , I understand a online glitch but giving the customer something for the nightmare takeaway would have got them £500 a year instead of nothing

One of the three Jumbo King Prawns was poor quality - very mushy flesh as if the prawn was been kept for very long times passed expiry dates.

First time we have ordered. The food was fresh and hot and nicely presented. I called the restaurant because I forgot to order salad and they were very friendly and accommodating and didn’t charge me extra. Very nice experience and reasonably priced. Will definitely be ordering again

Delicious food. I tried the Kashmiri Chicken Curry and Mushroom & Spring Onion Rice. Brilliant.

We ended up here having decided we didn't like the fairly boring menu in our hotel. No idea where it was, just knew it was only a few miles by Uber. So glad we did! One of the hottest evenings of the year, it was quiet, but the food was very very good. We know our Indian - having eaten at many, and we cook ourselves. It was very obvious Muri are using good quality ingredients, and the dishes we chose were excellent. Excellent value too. Give them a try - I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

The food was decent and would order again. The Dhansak was disappointing but the Jalfrizi was very good.

Good to be back! It’s been over a year since we’ve had the pleasure of eating in here. Muri has kept us fed with takeaways during lockdown but on the reopening of restaurants we decided to try some different dishes inside tonight. Service was impeccable. The Dining room was clean and appropriately spaced given the current circumstances. What did we eat? Popadoms, Salmon starter, King Prawn Puri followed by Chicken Taw-a-Tak, Lamb Thuna, caramelised onion rice, caulifower and potato aloo sag and chilli and coriander nann. Food was presented beautifully. It all looked so colourful! It was all piping hot and fresh. Each dish was full of flavour - so delicious. The nann was a real highlight as well. Drinks. We enjoyed larger cobras and montepelliano red wine. Prefect accomplishments to the dishes. With such a great menu we can’t wait to come back and try other dishes.

They forgot my poppadoms + when I asked them to include a pot of korma sauce they phoned me and explained I would need to pay £2.75 upon delivery for it.

King prawns was not Tandoori grilled and less tasty this time. King Prawn was felt not fully cooked and I put in the Microwave for two minutes just to be sure.

The onion bharji was over cooked and hard. Could not eat them. Very disappointed

Great food as usual but delivered 20 mins to early

The wrong food turned up. Food was missing and when I called the restaurant to inform them of this, they then told me to retrieve the food tub from the bin and send the wrong food back. (I had tipped the food on my plate and realised it was wrong and then tipped the tub in the bin) I was told to send this food back with the driver which i did. An hour later i still had not received a.replacement so called the restauranti n a calm manner to be told that cos.I laughed at the fact that they wanted me to return the food in a bin ridden box, they hadnt sent me a replacement. An hour and a half later they sent me a replacement. The attitude of the restaurant was incredibly rude and very argumentative.

Muri Indian is great! Staff are friendly, delivery is punctual and the food is nothing but delicious. Best Indian by far. Will always keep coming back!

Missing items in the delivery when challenging the shop over the phone he had packed it himself and it was in there! So I am lying over a pot of sauce for about £2.45. Besides that each curry dish contained about a glass of water my plate was swimming. Didn't used to be a bad place having visited often in 19-20. The must be struggling. Dive now, order from another curry house this is horrible!

The food turned up 3 hours late (albeit it was New Years Eve). The restaurant did not answer their phone at all and said that the food had been delivered earlier, to avoid Just Eat disputes. When the food finally arrived I could only describe it as a curry I could've made using a jar from a supermarket. The only saving grace (if any) was the onion Bhaji's.

Food was almost and hour late and cold. I realise it was busy, but if you can't cope don't take on that many orders. The above speaks volumes about how the customer is regarded.

First time trying Muri Indian and will never be ordering from this place again. I regret even trying to eat the food delivered, I have a stomach ache and my boyfriend has been up since early morning throwing up. So clearly something else was wrong with the food and not just the food being terrible. It was delivered 20mins late and lukewarm. The flavour of the food was bad, the vegetables were slimy, the tarka daal was vile, the rice was hard. Couldn’t have actually been any worse if they tried.

Good food. I order the same food in every Indian cuisine, it looked different but not bad. The vindaloo consistency was very thick more like paste. The down side is the delivery time. Waited over a hour the customer service was helpful each time I called but it doesn’t help having to wait over a hour.

Menu clearly states free beer with collection order over £18. When I asked the waiter for my free beer (I had spent £34 on a collection order) I was informed that this offer was no longer available, despite being clearly advertised on the menu. When I collected my order, both rices that I had ordered were missing. As I went back for my missing rice, I informed the waiter that the menu ought to be updated, as this is false advertising. The waiter would not accept this, and started to question if I knew how business worked. I asked the waiter if he could accept this was false advertising, however he continued to argue with me. I expressed that the rest of my order would be going cold at home, due to his insistence that I did not understand how business works. He denied that my food was getting cold at home, and declared that he knew this for a fact as he has been in business for some years. His attitude was appalling, and I informed him that he had lost my custom. The waiter did not seem to care. I will not be returning to this restaurant, poor attitude of staff and false promises on the menu.

Just enjoyed a meal with the family. Food was great - hot, delicious and very tasty. Restaurant was busy with lots of take-away food being ordered but we had a good time and will certainly be visiting again.

Good: Food arrived earlier by 10 mins and was hot Improve: Packing was good, but could avoid plastic boxes Bad: Chicken used in Afghani Chicken (starter) did not taste fresh. Probably fried in the same oil as fish.Flaky paratha was a normal plain naan made of wheat. Kerelan Jumbo Prawn curry is a joke the taste was horrible and £13 for it was absolute ridiculous and went down the drain. Chunk of rice in Biriyani not mixed properly and chicken was dry. Will never order again from here.

good food but like most restaurants don't seem to manage orders so you end up waiting in some cases a long time . while I was waiting for my order I heard the restaurant member of staff say 45 mins if you collect 1 hour 45 minutes delivery. I ordered around 5.50 arranged to collect at 6.30 and got the food 6.50. Nice staff but they have to be more organised and start giving more realistic delivery times.

Curry sauce was predominantly filled with large cut onions not really a great curry. Very lumpy curry sauce.

Very nice food will definitely order again. Sag aloo was delicious my only complaint was I didn’t get the poppadoms I ordered!

They got the order wrong. If you pay over £5 for a bottle of beer, you expect it to be delivered. The delivery driver was rude, then the man who gave me my beer just said sorry and cleared off. The portion size was really small and there are none of the extras that you expect from an Indian restaurant. No complimentary popadoms none of the customer service skills. Yet the food tastes incredible. How can a Chef as good as that be let down so much by the idiots around him! The kitchen were awesome, they need to be a little more generous is all.

The order was 30 minutes late being delivered & then part of the order was missing.. We rang The Muri & they told us that they didn’t have a driver & to contact Just Eat regarding the refund. Absolutely shocking service for something we had no control over at all... If that’s the restaurant’s attitude then I would suggest looking elsewhere...

I have been a customer of Muri for the past 5 years and I’m so disappointed with their service recently! The last order they took an hour and half to arrive and no apologies whatsoever! Tonight I placed another order thought i’d give it another go. I ordered through Just Eat and only realised it was for ‘pick up’ after I made a payment! So I called the restaurant and the man said to me I can only cancel my order and place a new order in order to change it! I did exactly what he told me to but only then I realised I can only take 50% refund back from my order! Which they charged me £14 for the order of £28 in total, literally after 2mins spoken to the restaurant!!! I will never order from them again! Bengal Paradise down the road is so much better than them!

Bad service and over an hour late on delivery!

Very disappointed. Food was cold, bland and took an hour and a half to arrive and I only live about 500yrds from the restaurant. No apology for being late not even a free poppadom just a rude delivery guy.

This is a overpriced really poor Indian restaurant with rude staff and below average dishes Also they are listed for 50% discount on meerkats and taste card but refuse to accept what they have signed up to There takeaway menu online offers a 10% discount for collection but guess what they won’t give it They won’t even throw in a few popadoms how sad that cost pennies these must be paid for as an extra at 75p each This restaurant needs to wake up to the current situation of covid and to attract customers promote offers and they might actually make more profit and keep customers happy with a better turnover There are plenty of higher standard Indian Restaurants offering plenty of promotions to get customers back Now for the food poor poor infact very poor cold rice, dishes being sold that don’t reflect the discribtion on the menu, bland, warm at best or cold So to sum up MURI a complete rip off And a fake position of 3rd best Indian locally you know why that is most feedback is put by them or they ask every customer to give them 5 star feedback Want a brilliant Indian restaurant try Turan in Hatfield

Always great food . Fast delivery and always Hot

The only reason the restaurant loses a star is their rather modest portion sizes. We ordered five main courses, two vegetable dishes, two rices and two naan bread between the four of us and in most places, we'd have really struggled to finish everything. If you like Weight Watchers portion sizes, this is the place for you. We could have comfortably managed a couple of others although we may have needed an adjoining side table! Everything else is a genuine positive; the service was quick, the staff are helpful and attentive, the restaurant clean with a nice atmosphere and most of all, the cuisine is good to very good. The Sri Lankan Slow-Cooked Lamb and Chicken Tikka Rezella were personal favourites.

As ever, the food from Muri for the most part fresh and delicious. The food is by far one of the best Indian restaurants for freshness and maybe that explains my next comment. The order arrived more than 2 hours after the order was placed. When the order was initially placed, it said it would take an hour and twenty minutes. I enquires after it didn’t arrive and was only then told it would be a further 45 minutes. Like I said, the food was good, although not hot and the naan was cold and rubbery.

Very disappointing as have had good meals here before.Main course all food was cold don’t know why as supposed to be freshly cooked .Complained asked the waiter to heat the food to a reasonable temperature but it came back out same temperature.We left all the dishes and then given a bill for full amount with the waiter saying he didn’t know what had happened.Asked if we would like to take the food home to reheat it ourselves.

Delivery was exactly on time, despite us bring quite far from the restaurant. Fantastic food, really great flavour and arrived hot and with everything we ordered. Try the buffalo Balti! It's delicious.

These folks are working hard during the pandemic, so that must be considered! It was pretty late, but the food was delicious and they kept me up to date, and apologised, so all's good. Will definitely come back.

Haven’t had any food from the Muri for a while given the current covid19 situation, but the good news is that the food is ad good as ever. Just had a family takeaway for Fathers Day and the food was spectacular. Papri Chaat appetiser is unusual and packed full of texture and taste. Tiger Prawn Puri is the best I’ve had anywhere. Good sized prawns, lots of flavour and just the right amount of heat. Jumbo King Prawn Rubiyan. Spectacular jumbo prawns cooked in the tandoor with a fantastic spice coating. Even if you don’t like prawns give these a try and prepare to be converted. Not cheap but definitely live up to their billing. Looking forward to eating in again soon as the jumbo prawns in particular are even better straight from the tandoor.
