A large group of friends went to the Cumin Cottage and had a wonderful evening with great food that all came to the table at the same time

Not only is the service wonderful the food is particularly fantastic so much so I ordered a takeaway after I ate here for tomorrow! The lamb chops were a stand out. If you are in the area or live here you won't be disappointed. 5 starts from me.

We ordered a curry through the website, they took the money but then said no order. Wouldn’t deliver any food and no guarantee of getting out money back. I will never use them again and will make sure I tell friends not to eat here! Be carful with these guys

Ordered a delivery from Cumin Cottage on what must have been the busiest day ever (NYE in lockdown). Service, delivery and food quality was excellent, definitely a place we will be trying again - and look forward to it!

Never eaten from here before. Their food is miles ahead in quality than anywhere in Northwich or Winsford. Absolutely beautiful in flavours..presentation..stunning. I will definitely recommend here and will return. Sadly delivery was poor..long wait but I'm sure that could be improved.. EXCELLENT..

ordered our food for delivery 2 hours ago and still not arrived. nobody answered the phone as we tried to call 25 times. awful service.

Have used British Raj for 15 years but as they are shut thought I'd try Cumin Cottage, especially as I live less than 2 minutes away. Driver turned up, gave him a £4 tip and sat down to tuck into our meal. Straight away we realised the order was incomplete and phoned up to let them know. The first person I spoke to didn't seem to understand what I was on about and the phone want dead, the second call with somone else went much better but over an hour later and we're still sat here waiting for our completed order, £10 down including the tip I stupidly gave. I didn't check the order as I thought they surely couldn't get a meal for only 2 people wrong could they? At this point I don't think they're coming back. They know my address so a refund for the £10 would be the appropriate gesture at the very least! This was a chance to gain a new regular customer but on the back of this I won't be using Cumin Cottage again. Customer service is very important to me and with them, it obviously isn't.

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisors, we decided on this restaurant. We struggled a bit to find it, as the postcode took us to the centre of Northwich. This Resturant is now called Cumin Cottage -Weaverham. We are so glad we found it! :-) Having tried many Indian restaurants across Cheshire this is definitely one of the top. Excellent quality, fresh food, cooked to perfection , nice house wine and wonderful service at a fair price. We are looking forward to our next visit.

The staff know exactly how I like my curry, but which ever meal my wife or I choose it’s always made to our taste. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the free delivery takeaway is handy.(within three miles). Try to visit every week now.

We are new customers of his restaurant and after our second visit it has gone on our list of 'must go back'. The staff are attentive and pleasant, and the food is plentiful and tasty. There is a real care to ensure that the customer receives a dish she or he will enjoy - particularly important when one is chili-intolerant. The restaurant under its new ownership deserves to do well.

We love this friendly restaurant.The staff are lovely food is excellent and it's great value for money. It is a small intimate setting but that is part of the charm. Take away is also excellent and they deliver locally

We hadn't booked but we're greeted with a warm welcome. The staff are happy, helpful and knowledgeable. Our order was taken and our food was served in due course. The meal was excellent. My byriani was one of the tastiest I've had in a long time and the prawn korhai was a taste sensation. The flavours were delicate but tasty and the sauces not too heavy. As we left the manager took time to have a chat with us and ask us about our experience. He re-branding it and it will now be cumin cottage as he's the new owner. He also told us about taster nights that he is planning and my friend and I can't wait. We look forward to returning

Popped in for a quick takeaway on our way home tonight, met with warm welcome from the staff as we waited for our meal to be prepared and enjoyed a drink at the bar. Food was exceptional as always, please take the time to visit or re-visit the Cumin Cottage I can honestly say we have never been disappointed.

I visited with my husband, sister and brother-in-law on Wednesday 30 October and looked forward to experiencing the restaurant under the new management and following the recent refurbishment. I was not disappointed. The restaurant looks fresh and inviting, the service was excellent and my meal (mixed vegetable starter and chicken tikka sizzler main) were delicious. I look forward to visiting Cumin Cottage very soon.

The New Mumtaaz is now under new management and the new owners are friendly and professional. The new menu is amazing and the food is delicious, one of the best Indian meals that we've had in a long time and great value for money. Well worth a visit!

Where do I start, I could not find an online menu so messaged them, within 10 minutes they responded with an online menu and details about The New Management. I placed the order via Messenger, there online service I believe should be up and running within a week. The food was delivered free of charge within 40 minutes and it was fantastic... everything was cooked to perfection, fresh ingredients and very tasty, and extra spicy as requested. The menu has a large selection and some unusual curries too. I cannot wait to eat in. Go on treat yourselves you won't be disappointed!

We have eaten here many times. Under the old management the food was excellent and could always be relied upon to give you a wonderful, traditional Indian restaurant feast. The dishes were totally standard, but none the less delicious for it. Service was unobtrusive and professional, bringing the food to the table hot and the hot plates sizzling.

Have eaten here frequently and used the discounted takeaway service. The restaurant can lack atmosphere but the staff are always friendly and the service is efficient. Well priced and worth trying.

Currently (23/6/19) closed “due to refurbishment” no message to this effect on phone or website. May be something to do with electricity being cut off by Eon.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times as a couple and with family. We visited on Wednesday 24 April, our order was taken, food and drinks delivered when we asked (not rushed) and the quality of the food and the service really good once again. We look forward to going back in the next couple of weeks.

Have eaten here a few times now but again the food was disappointing and again the waiter got the order wrong. Won't be back this time and not surprised it was empty...

Had heard lovely things about Mumtaaz but had never tried it before. Waiters were lovely and the food was great , reasonably priced and would defiantly go there again.

I ate here in the evening and came for the great under £10 deal. The offer is a starter, a main and a side. I restaurant was empty when we arrived but all of the staff were very friendly and the food was so fresh, piping hot and tasty. The madras was one of the nicest I have had locally for a while. I wouldn’t of gone here without a friends recommendation and I have told all of my friends and family about it since.

really disappointed always order from here as I feel food is outstanding yet tonight we ordered 50 pounds worth of food and the bag collapsed sending the 4 Currys and rice all over the floor. We rang to be spoken to quite rudely assured it would be replaced told to come back and when we got there nothing prepared for us and a refusal to prepare. people where in the restaurant at the time shaking their heads at the sheer attitude at the member of staff the refused to replace the rice but replaced the curries really really disappointed. will not be using here again I won't be recommending it either. appalling customer service

Being familiar with most of the Indian restaurants in the area, we thought we would try the only one we didn’t know. It was worth the experiment.

We were new to the Weaverham area and would miss our curry house from East Cheshire. No need to worry, this place is excellent, lovey people run this business and very personable. We have been to the restaurant several times now and numerous take-aways. Tasty, good size portions. Nan bread is lovely, sauces authentic and moorish. Highly recommended. ;-)

The popadoms were like a dish cloth that had bin in the grill starter tasted like diesel currys had nothing but sauce very plain no rush go back

I visited this restaurant on Friday 15 December with five other family members. I have eaten in the restaurant a number of times and had take-always. The food was delicious as alway, they will make the dishes less spicy or spicier if you ask. As always the staff were really friendly and service was very good. Can’t wait to go back.

Whether it’s a takeaway or a sit down meal, the service and quality of food at Mumtaz is outstanding. The staff are always welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. I’d highly recommend a visit

I am terribly fussy about eating out but this indian is the best.fab food and great service.All the staff are great and the manager is so genuinely friendly. I would recommend as the best i town.

Indian restaurants can all become very similar after a while but two things made this stand out. Firstly the biryani was the best I’ve had since we got back from India. Secondly they were really good to my kids who were on their best behaviour after being promised s treat and were thrilled with their free ice cream! Clever child management and the kind day keep asking when they can go back! Really nice, good value, chilled informal place that we will indeed go back to!

We visited the Mumtaaz Indian Restaurant for the 2nd time on Wednesday 24 August. We had an excellent meal with really good service can't be faulted. We will be going back.

Good food reasonably priced. Plenty of range and pleasant staff. They do take out too . Can be busy at times so pays to phone first. Recommended.

Went for curry tonight and well worth the visit. This place is a gem and I hope that locals and those coming from further afield continue to support it. Service wouldn't have been out of place at any top rated restaurant.

Visited on a Saturday evening early doors 7.15pm ( telephone bookin that day ) few people in quite busy with the takeaway side of things. Upon entering was greeted with a smile by pleasent member of staff who showed myself and my wife to our table. Order for drinks taken straight away as well as popadums (6) and chutney tray ( very good chutney tray when it arrived.) People were arriving thick and fast as we browsed the menu which shows the popularity of the place. Ordered our food which when arrived within a respectable wait was excellent I had a mixed Jalfrezi with Keema naan. My dearest chose Chicken Sagwala which was packed with chicken and spinich with lemon rice. we had a drink each ( magners cider and a soft drink ) plus a "tap water " which was nicely presented in a flip top bottle. Upon finishing and asking for the bill we were presented with two small Baileys and two hot towels We paid £32 which we both thought was good value for money. All in all excellent food , nice surroundings , very nice staff and good value , can't believe not been there before !!

Was pleasantly surprised with the sophistication of mushroom fried rice. Chicken maghouli was flavourful with succulent meat. Staff were happy to chat with customers without being intrusive. Would be happy to go again if ever in the area.

The only problem I have with tis place is the lighting. They have it very bright and the walls are a bit bare. However, they a friendly and the food is good and there is a well stocked bar. The décor is clean and fresh. This is not one of those after hours Indian restaurants and it tends to be busy from 7 till 9. Mr friends asked for a doggie bag and they were very obliging

Visited this unassuming little gem a few times now and it's been consistently excellent all round for food, service and value for money. It may not have all the bells and whistles of other restaurants but don't let put you off, it's the food that matters and it's fantastic.

What a find this restaurant is. The Mumtaaz is tucked away in the old part of Weaverham, but it is well worth going to the town, just to have a meal there. The food is excellent - very fresh and beautifully prepared. The service is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is the best Indian food I have eaten in a long time and I am already planning my next visit. Fantastic.

Have visited about six times recently (well in last three months). The food is excellent... as is the service. All family and friends love it. Cheap and good quality wine and overall very reasonably priced.

We have been a few times and each has been very good with no complaints. Food, service price are all good. Convenient for us in the village and worth a trip.

We dropped in here as a family in December. Although we'd seen the existing reviews, we didn't have massive expectations. That said, the food is absolutely delicious. The service was super friendly as well.

Nice wide selection of Indian dishes, the service is great and the food is excellent quality, can't go wrong here great place.

Have visited Mumtaaz a few times now and have never had a bad thing to say about the food or the service. This time we had the Exotica Balti (my very favourite) £9.95 and the South Indian Garlic Chicken £8.95 with Pillau Rice £2.20 and the Onion Fried Rice £3.10. Plain Nan £2.20 and a Peshwari Nan £3.10. The nan is how I like it, fairly thin with nice browning. Previously we have had the Meat Thali £15.99 to share.

I really enjoyed the food here. It was reasonably price and delicious. The service was very friendly. I imagine that it is a family run business. They made me feel very welcome, even though I was dining alone.

Really enjoyed the meal one of the best India I've ever had, staff were very friendly, but did take they time before coming up to take are order. But food was well worth the wait and the money.

This was our first visit to Mumtaaz and it certainly won't be our last! From the greeting as we walked through the door to the goodbye as we left we were looked after really well. The Staff were very enthusiastic about the menu and said that they could alter any of our selection to suit our taste. My husband likes the same type of curry as me but wants it slightly hotter. No problem. The food quality was excellent and the portions big. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is vey relaxed. We're looking forward to our next visit...........very soon!

We went in as a party of 20 for my birthday. The staff offered an excellent deal on the food! The staff were all very chatty and great. The food was most definitely 5 stars! There was a little delay is some of the party's meals arriving but they were very busy downstairs aswell as us having the large group upstairs. I would highly recommend this Indian restaurant one of the best I've ever been to!

The food here it fabulous, yummy and amazing, staff friendly and helpful, food portions large and the taste is divine. It was a very busy night with to large parties up stairs but this in no way impacted on our meal. Would recommend this place to anyone who wanted an authentic Indian meal.

Only live a few minutes walk away and ventured in today. We had the Sunday special and it was totally delicious. The staff are very warm and friendly. This will now be our regular Indian as it was so good.

We have visited the Mumtaaz 4 times now and never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant is rather like a Tardis - looks tiny from outside yet is spacious inside! The Sunday special of 4 courses for £10.95 is such good value - all food hot and very tasty.

We visited here with our friends and we had a great night. The service is fantastic, lovely friendly staff and the meal was amazing. Definitely the best curry I'd had in a long time.

Our party of six all had something different and all said it was the best Indian meal they've had for ages. certainly the best Indian restaurant in the area, if not Cheshire.

We went as a couple for a meal we chose the set menu and were very impressed with the friendly service and excellent food... very good quality and well cooked. It was truly faultless. It was a very relaxed and un rushed atmosphere!!

Fab to be able to walk to a local restaurant, and it does not disappoint. We have had two takeaways from here and visited twice to eat in with our boys. The staff are really friendly, accommodate different food for the little one, and the food is genuinely tasty. Seabass Tikka with lemon rice was gorgeous. Well worth visiting. Lovely décor too.

I won't usually eat Indian food but went with some friends to try out this local restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The food and service were excellent and I will go again.

Visited on a Saturday evening with my husband and was not disappointed . Greeted by lovely welcoming staff with tables that were spacious and bit seated to close together . Restaurant has a modern stylish feel with a relaxed atmosphere . We enjoyed our starters of shish kebab and meat samosas. The house white wine and King fisher draught beer was our drinks choice and we were pleased with both . Cannot explain how impressed we was with our main courses of chicken Rogan josh and a chicken pathia. The restaurant also boasts a great upstairs ideal for private functions etc overall a fantastic great value for money restaurant with amazing food and service. Would highly recommend and will most certainly be returning .

My boyfriend and I visited on a Saturday night. The service was quick and attentive, the staff lovely and friendly. The food was piping hot and so delicious. We will most definitely be returning as the restaurant is within walking distance from where we live. Free shot at the end of the meal was a lovely touch, and a tour of the upstairs was brilliant too :)

Came here for a Friday night meal with 4 friends. Had been waiting ages for the place to open and was really hoping it would be good. We weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, the service was friendly but not intrusive and for £20 a head for poppadoms, main course, rice, naan breads, chapatis and a couple of rounds of drinks you couldn't really ask for more. They even added in a vegetarian curry on the house, which went down nicely with our meat dishes.

Really tasty authentic Indian, attentive but not intrusive service and very friendly staff. We went on s night when there was a big party but we didn't have to wait too long. Slightly hotter than the usual but really nice food. Very reasonable too, it deserves to do well.

We waited a long time for this to open in Weaverham and it was worth the wait ! Great food and attentive service with tailoring dishes on the menu to individual taste being welcomed rather than a problem. Only been 3 times since opening and we have been remembered and warmly welcomed back each time.

Wir waren zwei Familien zu je 2 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern dort, und es wurden uns zwei Tische zusammengeschoben um gemeinsam am Tisch Platz zu finden. Das Lokal ist überschaubar groß und war gut besucht. Reservierung war nicht nötig. Das Essen war hervorragend. geschmacklich sehr gut und vom Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr gut. Trotzdem das Lokal gut besucht war, hatten wir keine langen Wartezeiten auf das Essen. Kommen sicher wieder.
