Mulberry Bush in Ceredigion

Phenomenal range of specialist range of food, a vegan & vegetarian paradise. Lots of help from the staff if needed. Food is served, seating primarily upstairs, we are not vegan or vegetarian however, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, changed our minds about flavours.

The shop itself is pricey both in shelf contents and the cafe. BUT i just love the home cooked food they do. We had a mixed salad and a falafel burger and Moroccan bake type thing to takeaway. Both very nice, just a little pricey but, for us as regulars to the area but not local, worth paying a bit more for tasty vegan food.

We stopped here and ate on the paving table while cycling. A shared mushroom flan with salad and chicken pakoras hit the spot. Friendly staff, indoor seating and a good food store too. Veggies, vegans and gluten intolerant people all catered for too - well done!

Limited selection as late lunch , but glad to see a range of options for most diets :) I'm vegetarian but not vegan.Lovely quiche

The Mulberry Bush usually hold these evenings once a month during the autumn and winter. There are really, really good; lovely 3 course meal and interesting musicians to entertain you afterwards. We try to attend every one - this one featured Didgebeat George who was amazing. Please note that the rest of the time this place does amazing lunch time food.

Choice is limited main dishes do change but its salad or wedges to go with it and portions vary. It lacks any atmosphere unless its packed out

Beautiful salads and carrot cake and so well priced (under £4 for a medium salad and under £2 for a slice of homemade cake!) - I would eat here every day if I could!

Lovely choice of vegetarian healthy lunches. I had filo pie, hummus, carrot and beetroot coleslaw and a bean salad - a huge plateful all for £7.00. Lovely choice and friendly service.

Well worth popping in to eat or buy something, in this longstanding institution of the town of Lampeter.

Popped in to Lampeter for a loo round spotted this place so we thought why not. I had the Spinish and feta pie , wife had the Broccoli baked tart. To start with, nothing was delicious. Just average. My food wasn't very hot. My wife's food the same, apart from the "tart/pie was soggy as I think it was heated in a microwave. £20 including to coffees and a chocolate cake (not as good as my wife can do) so it wasn't expensive, just dull canteen type food. The restaurant itself is split into 2. Downstairs for ordering, then you go up stairs and either wait, or take it your self. The surroundings are a little odd. But I assume the paintings that once adorned the walls were all sold or er....removed for another reason.. Don't think we'd eat here again. But it was okay for a simple quick lunch.....

Apart from having to manage a set of stairs up to the seating area, this place is great! Very tasty caramelized onion quiche with an array of salad and hummus, very filling and a bargain at £6.20. Free water in jugs is available, so apart from eyeing up the delicious looking cakes but feeling full, this is a great place to go.

Had a very tasty peanut stew/curry for lunch. It was cheap and filling. There is free water and a light and pleasant seating area upstairs. Would definitely visit again.

Cake and smoothies were delish (as always) Sadly we were served by a very miserable lady (long dark hair, tied back) who was very dismissive. Then she almost huffed when we dated to ask for a straw for our smoothies 😟 Disappointed, as we had come as a treat before an up and coming operation. Will think twice before returning :(

Super fresh mixed salads on offer even at breakfast time. Had a cheese and red onion toasted sandwich with home made humous which was loaded with garlic. Absolutely smashing. Good mug of tea too

We have had lunch a number of times in the Mulberry Bush and it is always a treat. A whole raft of delicious and filling vegetarian and vegan mains to pick from and then you have to decide do you want some yummy wedges and one salad, or two salads? Winter favours the wedges, although it is always hard to pick from the lovely and unusual range of stunning salads to accompany main meals. Finishing with a dollop of home made hummus, you will know you have dined not only well, but wisely. Jugs of water are always available in the bright and airy upstairs dining room and staff are always friendly and helpful. And as my partner always remarks "Everyone always looks brimming with health here." Which is just what you want to feel.

Great to have a veggie café in a very meat oriented town. Caters well for vegans. Good cakes and savoury dishes looked nice.

Me encanta este pequeño café, una verdadera joya escondida. Tienes grandes porciones a un precio muy bueno. Todo casero con amor. Las ensaladas son deliciosas y puedes elegir y tienen un poco de todo. Las ofertas especiales siempre es muy difícil elegir! Todo el mundo me he venido aquí con le encanta, no importa si son vegetarianos, vegetariano o carnivoro! El personal es amable y servicial también.

Hay un fantástico lugar para sentarse y comer de arriba, toda la comida es agradable, productos frescos vegetariano. Zumos de frutas orgánicas y encantador con verduras que se venden en la tienda. La tienda está llena de todo lo que puedas necesitar, desde orgánicos a remedios homeopáticos de lentejas me encanta!

Era un día de lluvia en blustery Lampeter, y Mulberry Bush era tentador: cálido, aromas celestiales, y una amplia gama de ofertas para elegir. Yo tenía una porción deliciosa tarta de brócoli con queso azul acompañado de patatas asadas y una ensalada. Yo describiría la comida tan rústico y contundente. Le pregunté a la cajera para que lo hizo, y me explicó que el cocinero viene para preparar el día de ofertas temprano en la mañana. Sin duda alguna la comida hecha en casa y probado desde cero. También me encanta la tienda de comida de salud adjunto, con su estupenda selección de granos, productos, productos horneados, saludable delicias. Yo recomendaría este lugar!

Podíamos oler la comida deliciosa antes de llegar y que yo quería que fuera bueno. Nadie en el mostrador, y podía ver las escaleras y oír a la gente allí. En la parte superior de las escaleras había un cartel de "Orden", en el mostrador, fuimos y la comida no está listo para otra hora. Allí nos ofrecieron un par de opciones, pero nos fuimos al otro lado de la carretera, ya no desean esperar tanto tiempo. Por desgracia no puedo comentar sobre la comida.

Delightful food, great shop and well informed staff. Always stop off for lunch or a snack, (delicious chocolate cake). Food made on the premises fresh and tasty. Recommend

Mi esposa y yo visitamos con miembros de Llanbedr Pont Steffan Clwb Rotari/Lampeter rotary Club internacional y amigos para la noche. Habíamos reservado el restaurante por la noche, que está situada en la primera planta por encima de la Mulberry Bush Wholefoods tienda. Rotary Club Presidente Kevin Sivyer la bienvenida a los miembros y clientes de una gran variedad de países, incluyendo Irlanda, Taiwán, Canadá, India, Sudáfrica, Zimbabwe, todos ellos recibieron en sus idiomas otros nativos. What a great place to get a great if not unique tea and cake experience. Then afterwards look around there shop which has health options in it to buy that I have not seen for years, well worth a visit.

What a little gem tucked away at the rear end of the shop. My sister and I went in to look around when we saw a food counter at the rear displaying a delicious variety of salads and cooked meals. We decided to have a coffee which was served downstairs and then brought upstairs by the waitress. The café is light and airy with plenty of tables and also a lounge area to sit back and relax. We were so impressed that we decided to come back for lunch. We opted for a salad which was very good and filling. We will certainly frequent this café in the future.

I'm not into all this wholefood stuff if I'm honest, but this place is pretty good. It will satisfy the faddiest herbivore but notwithstanding the lack of meat, there is still plenty of choice. Great range of salads, sandwiches and toasties on offer plus some imaginative mains which are also very good value. Staff are friendly and I would certainly recommend a visit. The restaurant is at the back of the shop (which is a wholefood veggie deli) Most of the seating is upstairs. Not sure about wheelchair access.

Choice of 3 vegan main meals- WOW!! I had a really tasty mousaka. Husband had a shitake mushroom pie in a creamy creme fraiche sauce which he really enjoyed. Lovely staff, excellent value for money, good portions, the salads were also very tasty and everything cooked / prepared fresh. No problems with dietary requirements. Next time just need to make sure I leave room for the vegan cake. Wish I had taken a photo of my food before I had cleared the plate, it looked as good as it tasted.

Popped into the Mulberry Bush in Lampeter on Saturday whilst shopping. I needed some gluten-free cereal and they stock a varied selection. The Welsh coconut and raspberry tart caught my eye. It's suitable for non-dairy allergens as well as Coeliacs, and I can vouch for its tastyness! It's a 'Welsh Gluten Free Bakery Product', and they had other flavours there as well. There Mulberry Bush sell a wide range of health foods plus there's a lovely cafe where they have different events. Check out their website for further details or visit them and see for yourself. Firstly let me say that I an not a vegetarian. However the wonderful range of Vegetarian foods did not dissatisfy me in the least. They were well presented full of flavor (I did not expect that) and were Delicious. The shop has a fantastic range of organic food, health products and items that you will want to try.

As a non- vegeterian i thoroughly enjoyed my plate of salad.This is one of the tastiest salads i have eaten.fresh ingredients and such generous portions.the humus was great.friendly and welcoming staff

Really pleased to find a veggie cafe while on holiday in nearby Llangrannog. There was a great selection of food, the staff friendly and efficient. It was very busy as the leader of the Green Party was there with a number of party members all having lunch! It did not affect the good service though. The portions were large and delicious. Really good value. Will definitely return if in the area again.

As a shop it provides the variety the town needs in Vegan and Vegetarian supplies but the cafe has such a simple, chilled atmosphere too it and as a non-vegetarian even I found the food to be delicious. It's great for a quick cup of tea or lunch and the staff are really friendly.

Used to always grab takeaway lunch from here when I was a student last year. Homemade wedges with houmous was incredible and loved their homity pie too. Miss it so much and when I'm back in Lampeter, I'll definitely drop by.

This is a great little veggie restaurant and shop in the centre of Lampeter. The food is consistently excellent and during our last visit for lunch last week the quiche we had with salad was superb. The upstairs eating area is quite basic but pleasant enough with a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the service is good. Only small gripe is the price charged for a small bowl of wedges! This place is highly recommended and if you are into your veggie food definitely stop here!

Mulberry Bush is my favourite place in Lampeter. Consistently gorgeous and nutritious vegetarian and vegan food; excellent value. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant is light and airy, usually with the bonus of an exhibition by a talented local artist. On the ground floor is a lovely wholefood shop, very well-stocked with food, condiments and remedies. A must to visit if in or anywhere near Lampeter!

Everything is here for health conscious shoppers. The staff are well informed & helpful. great range of special dietary foods & scrummy lunches from the deli.

A very strange place to eat and I won't be again. Very alternative. Very expensive. Plenty of other places to eat. The special of the day £3.50 turned out to cost over £5Or over. With nothing added by me. Told it comes with two Sides. Then charged the extra. I did not enjoy and will not visit again. I cannot recommend.

I live a good hours drive from Lampeter but if I am passing through I always call in for lunch. They do a lovely take away. Really tasty food (I'm not a vegetarian). Absolutely fantastic.

We visited whilst on holiday - what a lovely, well stocked health store with helpful staff. We ordered food downstairs and it was brought upstairs when ready to our table. There was only one other table occupied whilst we were there. The chef was happy to discuss which meals were suitable for vegans and two of our party had the cottage pie with salads (tofu salad was very good) and one person had a cheese toastie. The meals were hot, fresh and tasty and hot drinks were good. I had the vegan chocolate torte - an amazing pudding - really rich. The cost for 3 lunches, drinks and one cake was £22.50.Well worth a visit for lunch and a browse round the whole foods store downstairs.

Nice little shop and cafe with friendly staff and nice food and friendly staff. A good place to go if you want to find out what is happening in the alternative circles in that area (yoga, tai chi, crafting, markets etc) as there are loads of ads on the wall.

I eat in the Mulberry bush fairly often, or get a take out. I love that it's vegetarian and that as a vegan I can always find something really delicious that I can eat. They also have really knowledgeable staff in the wholefood shop who give really reliable advice regarding health and supplements. Thanks guys, you are awesome!

Regularly visit the cafe for a take away lunch. The food is fantastic (especially their homity pie), staff are friendly and always good value for money. Definately recommend this to anyone. :D

A nice selection of vegetarian and healthy yet tastey raw food/salads, with a lovely restaurant area upstairs and friendly staff. Worth paying a little bit extra for.

I'm originally from this area but moved away 20 years ago - I've seen this place go from a little shop into this fab shop 3 times bigger and the added bonus of the cafe upstairs.My mother raves about the food here so on my latest visit to see family I decided to try the Mulberry Bush's cafe out and I was not disappointed. I had the goats cheese quiche served with salad - ample portions and very, very tasty and the salad s to go with it divine! you order downstairs (can also have takeaway here) then go upstairs to eat.The staff are very friendly, service was swift and efficient. This place has always been a little gem in Lampeter, the shop that is, but the added cafe upstairs makes it even more worth a visit! The staff, both in the cafe and shop are very knowledgable when it comes to the food they serve and the products they sell and are only too happy to assist when you need help in the shop.This place is well worth a visit and the next time I'm in the area will definitely be back! My mother, on the other hand continues to visit and is never disappointed!

We love this place. Superb food choices for fussy Vegans. Have eaten here five times. Food is interesting, imaginative and so so tasty. Soups, salads and cakes are equally good. You need to get there early for lunch as very popular. Excellent!

Frequented by students, residents and visitors alike, this is by far the best place to eat in Lampeter. Mulberry Bush is also a whole food and natural products shop. They are very knowledgeable about the health supplements they sell.

All food is veggie or vegan and freshly produced. Great value for money for what you're getting, the plates are generous and you come out feeling well-fed, but healthy for it. What more could you ask for? :-)

Though not vegetarians, my wife and are were absolutely surprised and delighted by lunch here last week. You choose from the specials board dowstairs in the shop and you are served very quickly upstairs. We thoroughly recommend the wide range of excellent salads. We had a hearty leek and goats' milk cheese quiche made with wholemeal flour. Ample portions and brilliant value for money.

This is a really nice shop with a take-away food counter or cafe upstairs. The coffee is the best I've tasted in Lampeter and the food is good hearty vegetarian fare.

Found this place on Trip Advisor & we weren't disappointed. The food was delicious & fresh and everything is vegetarian or vegan. So much nicer than the food offered by the local pubs & cafes. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

This cafe is located above the the health food shop. The food is hearty, and rustic. They offer plenty of vegan options and they have daily specials. Good desserts and they serve wine and beers. The cafe is very good value
