Afternoon tea for two and scones with jam and cream. Tea piping hot. Tables and the decorations are lovely. Staff friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable.

A bit of shopping and fancied some lunch. They had the menu at the start of the passage way and it looked good and so gave it a go. So to start with its a small venue with seats/tables up and down stairs and though it seems tight - which it is - once you are sitting down its not too bad. I do think its because its a more natural feel, rather than a chain that has it all on top of you for maximum return. Service was excellent with no just one person being assigned to us but the girls coming upstairs making sure we were all ok.

Queen Victoria

22/01/2019: The only shame is this truly excellent pub is not right on our doorstep! If it was it would be our regular haunt for sure!
03/12/2018: My first visit since being taken over by James and I am very impressed with what he has done with the place. With the new lighting and the excellent Christmas decorations it had a lovely warm and cosy festive feel.

The Green Man

19/10/2018: Visited the Green Man after my wife found it on Groupon, whilst being a fair distance for us we thought it worth a go and yes we are glad we made the journey.
27/11/2018: Although we struggled to find this pub, our satnav is not that reliable, we were pleased when we were eventually greeted by the welcoming landlady and perused the menu. It was a Thursday evening and the place was busy with diners, clearly they have something right and they have. We sampled the chicken and leek pie, and the venison suet pudding, both served with champ and adequate vegetables. The cheesecake was indulgent and the crumble homely. Unpretentious pub food, ample portions served with a smile. With our Meerkat voucher it provided very good value for money.
