Food was cooked to order which was nice, however the service received was extremely poor. The staff were unhappy, unfriendly and quite rude. When ordering, the staff made us feel everything was an effort. They also forgot to charge us and when we asked to pay even that seemed to annoy the staff. Will not be returning, not a smile in sight!!

Customer experience leaves a lot to be desired, whilst the food was above average the experience of purchasing food was way below par. Being the only fish and chip shop in town they often have a small queue out the door. However when you have been served you are sent outside again to wait 5-10 minutes at the side window. This may be ok on a hot summers evening but not on a cold night, and especially sending pensioners outside to wait , this isn’t acceptable in my book. The other negative is the shop doesn’t have an adult in sight , just 6 extremely young members messing about and being usual crude 18 somethings making inappropriate comments. Most would go un-noticed but I didn’t go outside to stand when advised to, and instead waited in the ample shop front area. This isn’t reason enough to send people outside though. People should not be sent outside , if there isn’t enough room left inside to stand then customers should be free to make the decision if they wish to wait in an alternative location. The chip shop was super busy tonight but the staff managed to produce piping hot Delicious fish and chips efficiently and quickly. Particular mention to Ella who was so smiley and polite and got my order ready . Thank you

Tasty cod and chips to eat on the Green. However, beware that because of staff shortages there are very limited opening hours - Thursday early evening, and lunch times and early evenings on Friday and Saturdays. I think that there will be lots of disappointed visitors who will expect to be able to get fish and chips at the seaside.

We had a takeaway for four on a Friday night, 6.30 pm and I thought it would be very busy, so I phoned the order through in advance. I went in and paid, went to the collection window and got the food within five minutes. The food was excellent, piping hot and tasty. We all had haddock and shared two regular portions of chips which was plenty. The fish were huge, hanging over the edge of our dinner plates. There are a couple of negative reviews on here and I have to say we have had food from here several times with no complaints, I would recommend this and will keep using them in the future.

We have gone here regularly over the years and never had a bad fish and chips. Always reliable with excellent quality fish and fresh chips. We were shocked with our recent meal how it had deteriorated. The chips were as if they had been cooked and then reheated and the fish was small and greasy. We wonder if it has changed hands and it has new owners. We were very disappointed and will put us off going again.

What has happened to Mr Pinks??!! Has it been taken over by new owners?? I have been going to this fish & chip shop for the past 5 years and it was fantastic....portions/prices/freshness spot in.... constantly recommending it to everyone.....not anymore I'm afraid. Visitedin the last few days and was really disappointed..... quality definitely not there anymore. Portion sizes massively reduced, fish was freshly cooked but too much batter & really greasy. I appreciate prices have increased but really this is too much.....such a shame. Doubt I'm the only feeling this way. Such a shame. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Even better thatwhen we were last here in December Is it that there is a new cahp on the fryer? Excellent crispy batter surrounding a beautiful piece of cod and the chips weren't bad either. I asked for salt to be in a separate bag and this came with a big smile! Well worth the slight waiting time of 10 minutes or so to cater for happy customers waiting their turn in a queue bathed in sunshine. Someone should organise a Punch & Judy show on the green perhaps?

The singing chef was cooking today and what fantastic fish and chips I had and they were cooked to order ! Crispy batter, skinless fish and perfect chips, excellent and thank you Chef.

Disappointed. Normally great fish and chips but this time the chips were poor. We got a bag of scratchings rather than full bodied chips. When we got home we could see why it took the young man serving the chips about six or seven scoops to almost fill the bag.

We have used Mr Pinks for almost all the time it has been in Milford...before that used the same in Pennington. Always had excellent service because we go when there is not a peak crowd. Even at peak times the wait is not long but at 84...5 minutes can be a long time .We will continue to go as long as the knees will let us. Pity there is no delivery, but one can't have everything. We visited on Saturday lunchtime based on the good ratings on TripAdvisor and had 3 fish and chips and a battered sausage. The fish looked and tasted like it had been in a freezer too long (slightly grey in colour and not a fresh flavour), the batter was bland, the chips soggy and fell apart too easily. The battered sausage was almost inedible. And the fish was all served in 1 bag which we didn't realize until having driven somewhere to eat it. We had to rip the bag into 'trays' to eat off! Very dissappointing.

We have had fish and chips many times from Mr Pinks, however last Friday evening 22nd when I order for six people we had the worst meals ever. Horrible thick batter on the fish(Plaice) cod roe and pea fritters. The bag that the fish came in had so much oil in it I could pour it out. Great shame do not know what has happened but will NOT be going back

We are locals, we stopped of to buy some chips and the service was appalling very abrupt front line staff, you have to wait by the side window for your order, a female came to the window and slammed our food down and screamed out our order number. No customer service here will never return.

Having had a good lunch, but still wanting a little something in the evening, we decided to join quite a few others in getting something from Mr Pink's and eat it on the Green in the sunshine. They have the Covid thing sorted. Into the shop to order and pay, and then wait around the corner for your number to be called to collect your order from the window. The sausage wasn't bad, but the chips were really good. Crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. Very satisfying!

Only popped in for a pasty, fishcake and chips but they managed to overcharge me by 40p. I realised whilst stood outside waiting for my food so went back in and told them. “Oh our machine is broken and doesn’t display the right numbers” he said, taking 40p from the till and handing it to me. An apology would have been nice, instead I suspect they made sure I had the rubbish chips, certainly looked like it anyway. I wonder how many others have been overcharged but haven’t noticed?

The fish and chips here are so wonderful I could eat them all day, every day. Unfortunately the opening times are so eccentric that I’m unable to do so. Lunchtime closing, 1.45pm? Weird. Closed three days a week? Weird. That said, this is a first rate fish and chip shop. I was born in Edinburgh and grew up in Glasgow. I more or less grew up on fish and chips.And what’s on offer here is right up there with the best I’ve ever tasted.

I was shocked we brought a large chips thinking let’s be greedy and share as the place we usually go does 4 of us this time it was just my husband and I and it was meagre to say the least! So not great value there Barely 2 good portions. But they tasted lovely freshly cooked and crispy. The fish was either frozen or over cooked but the batter was lovely made a nice change as it was very light with a nice crisp. Probably not somewhere I’d choose again but I’ve had worse. It just wasn’t great value for the price.

Always like to support local and ocer the years have used this fish and chip shopMany times. But it is becoming very hit and miss. Recent order collected one fishPortion sown so had to return to follect missing fish. The batter on the other two portions was soggy. Not the first time this has happened. ŴPortion good though. Glad to see they have stayed open during this second lockdown. On this Friday had the best Haddock, chips and mushy peas from our village Mr Pinks. The Haddock was so fresh and tasty. The chips were just right, crisp and light. The Mushy peas were tasty. All in all a Great Meal.The covid protocalls were thorough and well thought out. Well done Mr Pinks.

We have lived in Milford On Sea for three weeks and had fish and chips from here twice. Both times they have been bloody lovely. No grease, plenty of chips and decent size fish. All cooked lovely. I always have haddock and this haddock from here is spot on. Polite manner from the people behind the Perspex screen and good social distancing protocols in place.

Phoned to order for 8.15. Website says closes at 8.30. Told abruptly that they didn't have a website. They close at 8pm. So we have no supper

In second lockdown and glad Mr Pinks has stayed open.Still very covid friendly. Everything was good except sold out of haddock so had to have Cod which was not as good.Chips and mushy peas still very good.Ill be back and hopefully they will have the haddock.

Only the best fish and chips ever, the chips were golden brown and crispy and the fish was fresh and the batter just right. Our first day out since we self-isolated in February, so we were scared of going into our first shop for 7 months, we had no worries as Mister Pink's had it very well planned and we felt we ran no Coronsvirus risks. Thank you it was a real treat, and we will return.

We did enjoy our fish and chip supper on our arrival day for a week staying in Milford on Sea. If we had rated it higher we may have tried them again. They were fine but no better than any others I have tried. Slight disappointment to be honest. Good sized portions

Had fish and chips here last week. We have always visited mr pink's as a treat when we are staying in Milford. We were so disappointed. Normally the fish and chips smell so delicious that you can't resist nicking a chip before you get home. This time the smell was not appetising. The portions were a good size, but we couldn't eat most of it. The chips were very greasy, and hard. Possibly recooked. We both ordered cod. We had one cod- shaped piece of fish and one flat fish, both in soggy batter, and smelling add of cooked in old oil. Such a shame.

We went to pinks for dinner on the local green.. I cannot recommend it enough. From start to end the team were professional and following all the provisions they had in place regarding covid regs. A very short wait for food which was suprising on such a busy evening with a que down the road. The team didn't fail under pressure. The portions were more than adequate and we could have easily shared. Fresh tasty fish and the best chips I've ever had! Highly recommend anyone visiting to go!!!

Every time we visit the New Forest we always take a trip to the lovely Milford On Sea, especially for a Mr Pinks chippy tea! Always freshly cooked and the portion sizes never fail to disappoint. Since travelling down during the covid-19, with all the changes in the hospitality sector, the service was still as efficient as ever & a great system in place. Would highly recommend... by far THE BEST FISH & CHIPS DOWN SOUTH!

Stopped here on a beach trip for lunch - nice 10 min walk up from the beach.Quick service, ordered in the shop then waited by the window outside for our food which avoided crowding inside.Really tasty fish and chips - great to enjoy on the green opposite. Popped into the wine bar a few doors down for a takeaway beer to go with it!

We always try to get fish and chips from this take away because it is what it says it is - a fish and chip shop without all the other paraphernalia and foodstuffs found in other fish shops. The quality was great and we enjoyed eating our food from the paper, sitting on a bench on the green. Hopefully we will do this again.

We tried them again last night. First time for ages. After a long wait it was most disappointing. I had haddock, hubby had cod and we shared a portion of soggy chips. The fish portions were tiny half the size of usual fish and chip shop portions. Fish was dry. This cost £13.80 !

Never have I felt so ripped off £18 for 2 large cod (frozen not fresh size of a chip for, photos don't lie.) Cods ,4 nuggets and a sausage (chipolata) in batter. Oil hasn't been changed for months as chips are brown and look reheated, see photo. Mentioned it to owner/chef and was told thats what we do and have for years, basically if I wanted to be mugged please at least hit me with club first, basically a firm prying on local tourists that don't know better AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I've eaten from here so many times & brought friends here boasting that it will be the best fish & chips they've ever eaten!I went to me links last week and felt disappointed, certainly wasn't up to the usual standard the chips were not brown enough & a bit greasy & the batter on the cod not as thin/crisp as it always had been....Are there new owners?? Would love to hear from Mr Pinks?Shame because if it continues a lot of people will not go there anymore & the core customer base here are locals.

We have been visiting this fish and chips place for a number of years, travelling from Newbury - always finding as excuse to go to Milford so that we could enjoy the fish and chips by the sea. Last 2 times we have been there we have noticed a remarkable difference in the quality. Batter is very mushy and soggy and not at all crispy as are the chips. We took some fiends with us, raving about our previous experinece and had to apologise to them. The place itself is clean and efficient. It appears to me that there is a change of ownership or the people actulay running it. Overall it was very much disappointing and we shall not be going there again -sorry. Will have to find another fish and chips place in Milford.

We thought we would try this place due to good reviews, rather than our local (very good) chippy. A long queue was a good sign (we thought). But staff were grumpy, fish was small, chips (though generous - maybe to make up for small fish) mushy and the whole lot tasted as if it had been recooked. Fish batter was soft and all stuck to the paper bag. Awful. And as a side note at this time, none of the staff wore facemasks, which did not give me any confidence in what they think of their customers. Sorry Mr Pink, but you will not be getting our custom again.

We spent a day during COVID at Milford-on-Sea. We were lucky with the weather and we walked from the seafront car park to Hurst Castle and back, spent time on the beach, enjoyed take away coffees and ice creams. At late afternoon we decided to call into Mr Pinks fish and chips. The haddock was cooked to order and with chips the meal for one was sufficient for two of us. The shop is very clean and our order took only 5 minutes - delicious food at reasonable price.

Fish and chips were delicious and the curry sauce was the best I've ever tasted! 100% worth a visit.😋

Rather disappointed as I'd been told how good this chippy was. My fish was a lot smaller in size than my friends who ordered the same. Found the chips dry as well.

Absolutely terrible. Used to fantastic. Staff where having a chat, no queue when I arrived has to ask three times to be served. Fish dried out in the heater, average chips. Asked for salt he pretended to put some on but didn’t.

While on holiday we had a takeaway from here. 5 of us had fish and chips. We all said how amazing the fish and chips were. The fish was very tasty and with the chips you get a good size potion. The 1 child had nuggets and 1 child had a sausage which they both really enjoyed. The staff were friendly and helpful also. Would 100% recommend Mister Pinks
