Excellent food good service we were on our way to Hawkshead we new it would be closed it's closed on a Monday 😕 we will after start our trips off on sundays

Called in for a solo lunch. Food was freshly prepared, coffee good and dog friendly also. Cakes looked good, I'll be having one on my next visit.

Just a lovely café serving good food (large portions) and helpful, friendly staff at reasonable prices- what's not to like?

Quite simple it's by far my favourite cafe in all the towns I have visited in the lakes it stands out the owner and his staff are very nice

We travel to the Lake District twice a year and our visit would not be complete without a visit to Mr H’s. All the staff are super friendly and always have time for a chat. There is an ample menu and the hardest thing is choosing which delicious item to pick. I cannot recommend Mr H’s enough, I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Lovely little cafe with reasonably priced food which is rare in the Lakes. Always come here when in Ambleside.

Proper home made cakes and tea made and served properly in china cups. We loved it! Try the ginger cake.

Vintage tearoom with great ambience. Had lunch here while waiting for daughter to arrive, staff were attentive & nothing was too much trouble. Soup was hot and homemade (vegan & gluten free) with lots of sandwich options. The gluten free bread roll was amazing (not your generic GF bread but very tasty, fresh and warm) Best GF lunch for ages. (Not sure suitable for coeliac - would need to check with the owner) Very busy with people waiting for seats. Varied menu with lots of choices, most of menu can be made gluten free. GF desserts also available. Staff were lovely to a lady who fell offered her a drink & helped her to sit on the sofa until she felt able to move. Toilets were downstairs and stairs quite steep, very clean. Lots of interesting things for sale too (wax melts, hand soap, vintage advert pages) Overall an amazing find in Ambleside that you should definitely try.

Lovely cafe, with great coffee and very tasty lunch. I had the baked potato with tuna and hubby had tuna melt. All perfectly presented with a friendly smile. Absolutely love the quirky doors downstairs. Hidden gem.

We have been many times before. On every occasion friendly staff and lovely food. Cannot recommend enough

Reviewed initially 3 years ago, it was as good this time as last. The cake sizes are immense (£3.50 for a ginger doorstep), and the coffee is lovely. Our daughter wasn't as impressed but she's just too fussy. Just go here if you're in Ambleside, you won't be disappointed.

Purely by chance we walked past & decided on a cuppa. A little gem we found. Great decor, the bowler hat lamp shades to die for! A fruit tea & coffee, toasted tea cakes to accompany. A lovely, friendly tea shop not to be missed. Fast forward 2 hours later, pm, this place was packed.

Popped in here for a quick lunch before visiting the waterfall. We both had the ploughmans and it was lovely. Half pork pie, three slices of nice ham, two bits of cheese, crusty bread, butter and side salad. It was very nice. Was a but disappointed that there was only ice cream for a pudding.

My wife and I called in initially just for a sandwich, however we both decided to have the ploughman's lunch. To be honest for the price it was amazing, the plate was overflowing with 3 slices of thick cut ham , pork pie , 2 blocks of cheese , pickle and salad with a gorgeous balsamic dressing. One was easily enough for 2 people. Absolutely gorgeous

Another great visit. Leek and potato soup with a tuna sandwich for me and chicken sandwich for my husband. Can't wait to return!

Mr. H'S was a delightful find as we visited Ambleside. Quirky and welcoming with great service. We enjoyed coffee and cakes and the grandkids loved the sticky toffee pudding cake in particular. Unfortunately it was near closing time and no meals were available or we would happily have stayed longer. Highly recommended for a break when looking round the town.

Our go too cafe in the lakes. Super as always, no wafer packet ham here! Great service, fa cakes and dog friendly(although not with us this time). Love the decor very quirky and different tea pots and cups/saucers.

Loved everything about this place. Cozy. Simple menu and the decor was great. Had the chicken sandwich and of course a warm scone with jam and clotted cream. I will dream about this place. Yummy.

Stumbled on this place by accident but will definitely be going back. Brilliant food great value for money and friendly helpful staff. Great with kids, no actual kids menu but will do a smaller size of anything on the menu.

Generous fillings in sandwiches, traditional and served with delicious coleslaw salad and crisps. Soup was delicious and served hot. Tea uses tea leaf. Completely perfect. You won’t be disappointed. Toilet facilities were clean.
