Mr Chips in Aberdeen City

Bad service & tasted terrible too, wish I'd read reviews first. No excuse for it - Won't be going back!!

Very new and clean shop, order taken quickly. All the usual offerings on the menu for a fish and chip shop. Food quality generally good though some items overdone, such as burgers. Relatively small offering of chips compared to most places, disappointing as the prices are higher than the average place, matched by quality but not quantity.

It's normally okay but today's chips were rancid and there was a hair in the white pudding

Thought I would try the revamped chip shop now called Oor Wullie's in. Mannofield. wish I hadn't bothered!! Steak pie was burnt brick hard and inedible, couldn't even get through the brick hard burn pastry. The staff were a shambles and disorganised.

Aparecieron para llevar rápidamente, me dijeron que serían 8 minutos. Acordé esperar, luego cuando la orden estuvo lista, me dijeron que serían otros 5 por las fichas con las que ordené comenzar. Podría haber hecho frente a esto, si no hubiera sido por la actitud tonta de la chica que sirve. Los ojos en blanco, el sarcasmo, la brusca interrogación y el bufido no eran exactamente lo que estaba buscando junto con mi té. Los otros miembros del personal (que estaban friendo) parecían ajenos a este comportamiento inaceptable y parecían felices de saltar ante las demandas gritadas de la mini harridan que parecían ver a los clientes como un inconveniente en comparación con los contribuyentes a su próximo cheque de pago. . La comida era muy buena, pero lo siento Sr. Chips, hasta que les dé a sus empleados un curso de atención al cliente (o incluso instrucciones sobre cómo ser agradable si no pueden manejarlo naturalmente), o hasta que la señorita La personalidad es llevada a la cabeza para trabajar en otro lugar que no indique 'cortesía' como un requisito de trabajo necesario, compraré mi 'astilladora' en otro lugar de aberdeen (la visité alrededor de las 6 pm el miércoles por la tarde).

Chips are lovely. Friendly staff. But the price....So f#&*ing expensive....and I live near London!

Bit pricey chips are nice but the fish was soggy n all u could taste when u bit into it was fat

First time there, never again, I order fish and chips, fish wasn't bad but chips were soggy and soft. Expensive and no quality.

Haggis supper was great, chips a tad soggy but all good if you haven't had decent fish and chips for years - just go with low expectations and you'll be just fine, I loved it Rob

Jeez, what grumpy and unhelpful staff! Oh and if you want overpriced greasy chips with soggy fish this is the place for you. Won't be back.

Food good. Service can be good depending on who is on.

Long queue greasy . Won't be going back Staff should be taking orders rather than making you wait longer so that fryer can get item's cooking.

Sunday evening - feeling lazy, opted for a chippy tea - excellent - very busy, very clean place - chips were delish as was the mince pie!

Not too bad for fish and chips. Premises looks clean and service is ok. Price is a little on the high side though compare to other fish and chips joints in town. Conveniently located at a corner street, with easy lay by for three cars to pick up the food.

Waited in a queue of one to order, waited five minutes, the one member of staff decided to then answer the newly ringing phone rather than serve the customer waiting. Needless to say walked out and took my money elsewhere!

Always slow, leave you standing in line to order for 5 minutes then tell you what you want is another 8 minutes! Why not take the orders as soon as you walk in?

Recently moved to live in this area so Mr Chips becomes my local chipper. My haddock supper did not taste good. I did not enjoy it and I will not be back.

La primera vez que fui aquí obtuve una mala porción de patatas fritas, o al menos eso pensé. Esta vez fui otra vez a la cena de pudín de Haggis, ya que es hermosa, pero una vez más las papas fritas que obtuve eran terribles (ver foto), así que tengo que suponer que en realidad clasifican eso como una porción mientras los venden a esos precios, que son empinado, probablemente el triturador más caro de la ciudad. Agregue a eso el personal temperamental y puedo decir con seguridad que no volveré.Si eres como yo y simplemente no aprecias que te timen, ¡deberías evitar este lugar! ! !

In my opinion there is only a couple of chippers worth visiting in Aberdeen. This is definitely one of them.

Tuvimos un día muy largo y necesitaba la cena a las 10:00pm como estaba conduciendo a lo largo de Great Western Road me pilla patatas fritas y Pensé por qué no Señor. No me decepcionó. Encantadora comida recién hecha. Las patatas fritas eran increíbles y el personal muy amable.Nota para gruñón conductor femenino que vino en taxi aberdeen argumentos pueriles y que habría que esperar, ya que la comida está recién cocinado esta tarde por la noche. Usted no es la persona más importante en el mundo y tener una puerta de salida y caminar hissy simplemente no hace ninguna diferencia.

Decidimos guardar la comida y la cena y decidimos llevar Fish & chips como un regalo y probamos Mr chips en Manofield, debo admitir que el Haddock estaba cubierto con un batido muy sabroso y crujiente y no grasoso, las papas fritas estaban cocinadas a la perfección, esta fue mi primera visita y no será la última para Mr Chips.

Good chips never have to wait long.

A local takeaway that cooks chips, pies etc but only haddock ( no cod) it's clean, tidy and efficient Parking is easy, prices reasonable

A sneaky chip shop tea became frustrating non event. Luke warm microwaved smoked sausage with supper having benefit of neither salt nor vinegar. Aggressive defensive customer service a new one in me, but obviously works as shop relatively busy. Who knew, eh!

Just bought fish and chips with a portion of hp brown sauce got a spot of sauce for 50p !!!

Este es mi nuevo favorito chips como me ha defraudado a Ashvale. El lugar es muy limpio y moderno, con un menú totalmente británica. El pescado es realmente fresco y las patatas fritas es sorprendentemente buena. Un buen lugar de pescado.

Have tried the Portlethen branch a couple of times not good although cooked to order it tastes as if it has been lying around for a while.. Have also tried the one in mannofield and the staff there just don't seem to care a lesson in customer service would not go amiss. Don't think I'll bother again. The previous occupants in Portlethen were fantastic pity they retired. Don't think this Mr Chips will create the same quality as the previous owners.

Freshly cooked food usually a short wait for chips but at least they have not been sitting in a hot cabinet getting dry!Clean premises.Top tip : excellent Macaroni Pies!

Had two fish suppers from the shop in Rosemount Place thee weeks ago which were really nice.Great fish and tasty chips,plenty for us. Decided to have the same again tonight,oh gosh what a let down.The fish was I think reheated from the night before,it was hard and tasteless,the chips were small bits all cold!! Our first buy was at 7pm on a Friday but the one today Tues, was bought at 5.30pm. Not cheap.Disappointing. Won't be back!!!

The Fish was very nice but the chips were very bland, pure white and tasted very dry, even with plenty vinegar on. For the price of over £6 I was rather disappointed.

Lets put aside the price and quality of the food, the entire time I was standing at the counter the two servers spoke only to each other and did not acknowledge me as the customer. I said please and thank you at every appropriate occasion, but the lady serving me did not seem to think she should reciprocate the same level of manners, throwing down my change on the counter and walking away without even saying goodbye or thanks. The food I wouldn't even give to my dog and the prices are extravagant even at Aberdeen standards!Will never buy from here again, and would not recommend anyone else does so.

Everything was freshly cooked, which meant you might have to wait 5 minutes or so, but well worth it. Great, fluffy chips and good, fresh fish in crispy batter! Fab!

ordered fish and chips. fish in batter was not cooked properly. would not go back. there are far better chip shops in Aberdeen.

Ordered 2 fish suppers and a single fish on Friday 31st January at 7pm didnt have to wait for them. Got home to find fish batter as hard as anything and very greasy, only the chips were edible, a very expensive box of chips...did write a letter to the Manager

The good. Good generally ok and to be fair it is never less than average and often good, although chips can be iffy! Fish is often freshly cooked to order. The bad. The service can be really slow and having stood in line for many minutes and finally getting served and told that the fish will be another 12 minutes is pretty poor. Staff could ask people in the queue who wants fish and fry it while they queue. Not difficult. The staff can be surly but it is a chipper after all, even if it is in the heart of Aberdeen's west end. The prices are high. £16.40 for 2 x fish suppers and a single black pudding! Crazy!

No complaints about the quality but I was shocked by the prices! At home in London my equally good local fish 'n' chip shop charges about £18 for four cod suppers and has a £2.00 deal on haddock and chips. Mr Chips charged us over £25 for four haddock suppers!

Mr chips is a good for a quick greasy feed but as always with having an entire meal that is deep fried you pay for it afterwards. The haddock is great, really crispy batter and tasty meaty flesh. However the chips are always undercooked and are soggy. I also ate a king rib which was quite tasty but essentially was like eating a kitchen sponge that had been squeezed in the deep frier oil. I will be back mr. Chips
