Mourne Seafood Street Food in Belfast

Excellent value for money, with fresh ingredients and a very classic seafood menu. Chowder was the star of the show for me, and the Carlingford oysters hit the spot. As a manager of a seafood restaurant back home, it was nice to be the other side of the experience. The service was pleasant and not over bearing, a quick recommendation on specials and then into a simple and quick dining experience. Would happily return next time I’m in Belfast.

What a fantastic eveneing. Myself and my Partner came here to celebrate our 2nd anniversary (as it was where we had our first date) and we were blown away by the kindness of the staff and of course, the quality of the food. We were accomodated in every way, with well wishes for our anniversary and fulfilling the request of letting us have the table at which we had our first date! Hats off especially to Scott and Eva for outstanding customer service, friendly nature and welcoming personalities. Keep setting the bar for kindness! Will for sure be back for anniversary number 3!

Wow !!! This restaurant has to be the best place we have eaten in Belfast for it's fantastic seafood .First of I would love to thank the amazing waitress (apologies) we never got her name but we know she came from Dublin .She couldn't have been more helpful,first of she recommended a red wine to me and then she also asked us would we like some Tabasco sauce to go with our seafood chowder!! Now we love spice but would never have dreamt of taking it with a chowder but she was right it was amazing!!! We have eaten many a chowder and we both agreed that was the best seafood chowder we have ever eaten.Now for our mains we had the monkfish scampi with a spicy coleslaw I can't find the right words to explain how good it was it was unreal !! Even the fries that came with it was seasoned to perfection and they came with the most amazing chilli jam !! Honestly guys I can't recommend this place enough we can't wait to visit again very very soon

Excellent seafood restaurant. Menu was full of wonderful seafood and fish dishes. Great atmosphere and lovely serving staff. For starters I had the seafood chowder which was delicious whilst my wife enjoyed the crab claws. For mains I opted for sea bass fillets in a mild curry sauce whilst the wife had sea bream. Both were cleared and both were so tasty. Would definitely visit again and highly recommend.

Love this restaurant. Visited again on Friday with my husband. Unfortunately there was no al a carte menu - just a January menu - we were a bit disappointed as we both wanted the delicious peel and eat crevettes- however the January fixed price menu was very good. We both had the jam jar prawn cocktail and the fish and chips which we thoroughly enjoyed. This restaurant is very relaxed, has great service - friendly staff and freshest of seafood. My only gripe would be the quality of the wheaten bread. Just a further note- I tried to book online on Friday but it showed no vacancies. I phoned the restaurant and was able to get a table. A lot of walk ins were turned away while we were there so I advise an online or telephone booking at this busy venue!

I think this was my third visit to Mourne Seafood bar and yet again it was pretty close to perfect. I was in a group of 8 or so. Great service, great food. The aroma when you walk in is stunning. Lovely menu. Worryingly close to Kelly’s Cellars which makes it very hard to leave the area without a swift one (or two) for the road. A great night out. Will be back.

This had been recommended by a few different friends who had frequented the restaurant when visiting Belfast - I can totally see why! Service was super lovely . They were happy to accommodate us when we were 30 mins early and they were really helpful in advising about our menu choices (and how labour intensive certain dishes were ). I had the prawns followed by mussels and my friend had whipped goats cheese followed by scallop pasta . We thought the food was of exceptional quality , with really generous portions . We’d happily have eaten the majority of menu items . Restaurant itself is really cosy , lovely atmosphere and very reasonably priced for the quality we enjoyed . Outstanding!!

My wife and I came here looking for a tasty, but not too filling, lunch. We certainly succeeded!! We both had the seafood chowder which had lots of delicious fish in a rich, creamy sauce with herbs and some neat wee croutons on top. this was served with some excellent wheaten bread. Our server offered some Tabasco sauce so I added a couple of drops which gave it an extra flavour dimension. This was the best seafood chowder I've had in a long time. Seated near a door very cold draft. The head waitress needed a course in customer relations very blunt. The dress code of all the staff was very unsuitable and appeared not clean. The food was cooked average but very small amounts for the cost on that visit. I visited again on my own during the day the following week early afternoon. The seafood chowder was good. Waited a long time for the trout dish that lacked everything as the limited veg was not cooked and soaked in oil with on halved potato!! Again the head waitress was not helpful at all! I overheard the customer next to me complain to the other waitress who never engaged with the customer and again very bad casual code by all the staff also noticed off duty staff wondering in and out of the food area very little hygiene standards!! Needs a big lesson in customer care standards a shame as the food was OK!

We had a delicious meal here. Prawns and Crevettes for starters and mussels and seafood chowder for mains. All cooked to perfection accompanied by a lovely bottle of white and harp lager. Lovely friendly staff with a warmth and humour. Great atmosphere and will return next time in Belfast.

We were here on a busy Tues evening. The service was attentive, friendly and really efficient. The food was really good. Loved the mussels in fennel and cream and the sea bass was very good. Good use of herbs and flavours to complement the fish and shellfish. Do have a cocktail they were also very good. Highly recommend.

Our food orders were taken quickly enough when we arrived, but it took a around 45 minutes for our starters. After our dishes were taken away, then...we waited, and waited some more. There were several members of staff around, but no indication of what was taking the mains so long. We enquired about our mains and we were told at different points that the kitchen had been really busy, they were short staffed. We had seen multiple tables be seated *and* receive their mains after we arrived. Two hours after we arrived (an hour after starters), with no dinner we decided to leave. After advising the wait staff of this our dishes arrived in to go boxes. I appreciated the meals being comped but overall I don't think it was well dealt with. No one seemed to realise that we hadn't had our main courses and we didn't get a clear answer about what actually went wrong. It's not a big restaurant but it felt like we were overlooked.
