The take-out service is appalling. We ordered food for 6.00pm delivery and despite several calls and reassurance that the delivery was on the way 5 adults and 3 young children are still waiting for food at 7.00pm. We won’t be using Mount Gurkha Spice any more!

Order was delivered late but we was told it was sent to the wrong address and remade fresh which is why it was late so can’t really complain but the food itself wasn’t great tikka masala wasn’t the creamy curry it usually is from other places and the pillar rice wasn’t pillar rice and the overall taste was basically tasteless won’t be ordering again

Top notch food. Chef smashes it every time with beautifully crafted curry. The new green chilli chutney served with the poppadoms is delicious. Everything is a taste sensation.

I'm almost tempted not to say great things as I'll struggle to get a reservation! it's fantastic. Food is delicious the staff are attentive and always happy to see us. It's the best restaurant nearby for a fantastic curry.

Chased down the road saying I had not paid after paying the £50. Embarrassing to say huge. Lamb shank full of fat. Wen asked if the meal OK and commented about fat just got a big smile and no English understood n he walked off. £50

We came here on a Friday evening with friends for dinner and found all the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. We thought the food was a bit average for an Indian restaurant and nothing particularly special but we did enjoy our evening.

Absolutely fantastic. The Khasi Ko Khutta was exquisite in taste and juicy and tender. The Mango Kulfi was a fine end to the meal. I highly recommend.

Hmmm. Just ok to be honest. We visit a lot of Indian takeaways up and down the country as we live on a narrowboat. We even keep a spreadsheet of where we have been and give them scores. This was a 50 out of 100 (just). Meat was well cooked, food was hot, peshwari naan was fine. BUT all dishes were hugely underseasoned and extremely bland. I went for a Lamb Phall as I love spice and it tasted like a chilli had been nowhere near it. The chicken tikka massala was just ok but I have made better myself to be honest. The Gurkhali was very bland and lacked any punch or flavour. If I could give a 2.5 I would but as it is it will have to be a 3 as 2 wouldn’t seem fair. Thanks anyway to all at this takeaway but unfortunately we will not be returning.

I recommend the sea bream and for dessert, the shahi kulfi. The paratha is soft and pillowy with a slightly crisped outside, the sea bream melts in the mouth with a fragrant sauce, and the kulfi afterwards as a small dessert is irresistible. It's not a big place, but it has usually been quite quiet when we visit, and the staff are friendly too.

Came in late with a group of friends, staff were very welcoming and patient with us. The food was fantastic also.

This is an amazing restaurant the food is just fantastic and the staff are wonderful . I have visited about 10 times and the quality and value has to be seen to be believed. I have paid double the price at similar restaurants and not had the same quality food. This is a must to visit

The food as always was excellent... unfortunately the waiting staff were over helpful as soon as a bowl was finished it was taken away... but that meant leaning across others in the party still eating. They were young and I understand they need to settle into their job, but, you can't lean over other diners and knock them on their head.

Had a fantastic meal here this week, early doors. Never been before and don't usually leave reviews as we find most places we visit have poor food, poor service or both. This experience was exceptional food, service and atmosphere. The food was really tasty and came to the table piping hot. The portions were generous and the staff were friendly, approachable and happy to provide a service in a professional way. We will definitely be back in the evening with friends. Thank you. Ordered meat samoas wasn't happy they was packet frozen ones curry and rice was nice but wouldn't go back.

We had a takeaway recently. It was excellent. My husband does an excellent curry, so we don't often have a takeaway. Well done you. Keep up the good work, we will be back either for a takeaway or sit down meal.

Great service in a beautiful and spotlessly clean restaurant. Food and prices were OK.We had Masala and Danshak. Both were on the hot and spicy side, despite being low to medium in the curry scale.

It was very busy on Saturday night luckily we had a table booked. Food was good, service was okay, got our drinks wrong and gave us an extra rice but other than that it was good.

First time trying a takeaway from here. The food arrived twenty minutes early which was great. Everything was delicious. I would order from here again without a doubt.

Had high expectations on this place but sadly I will not be ordering from here ever again. The food was ok but I wouldn't recommend it and when you spend alot of money for a meal you expect it not to be a child size portion.

Had the chilli chicken starter, not too hot, lovely flavours, nice battered chicken with a slightly spicy sauce. Then moved onto chicken chilli massala, rice and cheese/garlic naan, lovely grub. Always search for a medium/hot creamy curry... I think I've found the one! Thanks guys.

Disappointed left before even offered our booked table! The place was freezing bar service terrible left waiting ages for our booked table (which was in the bar area with drinkers and people waiting to collect dine out - area not suitable for a meal)- someone before us walked out had been waiting for nearly an hour for there table!! Needs to get more organized before we rebook - can't comment on food as we left!!

This Gurkha restaurant actually lives upto it's philosophy to "provide Quality food,exceptional service & outstanding value,"we happened to visit two Saturday's in succession (with two different sets of family) and we all agreed with the above statement wholeheartedly. It was a first visit to a Indian/Nepalese restaurant for my 84 mother-in-law and she loved her chicken tikka masala(mild). The staff are lovely, very attentive and when you add that to the delicious food,plus great prices, what more could you ask for? I would highly recommend a visit to the Gurkha and to be honest it won't be long till we're back again enjoying their delights.

I tried this place for the first time this evening for takeaway, the online ordering system is excellent and even has various editing methods for changing ingredients. I'm a bit picky so there's certain things i don't want in my curry and these guys made it effortless. Got the food and it was absolutely amazing, around £20 paid for 2 curries, rice, 2 nan and popadoms for me and the missus. 100% will be going ahead

Absolutely awful....never had an issue with this place before, runny curry with 6 small peices of meat in it. Lamb chop starter was meatless. The poppadoms were the only thing that were OK. Never order from here again.

I visit with a friend several times a month and we’re always made welcome. The food is fantastic and the staff are out of the world warm and friendly.

We turned up without booking and the restaurant was quite full, but the staff found a place for us and were welcoming. We ordered 2 different Nepalese dishes and were served quickly. The food was delicious - full of flavour and quite different to the standard Indian curries. The staff were friendly and helpful and the meal was great value. Would definitely return if in the area again.

My son and I are from Bristol , but were in Long Eaton on business. What a find this place was! Along with the Raj Pavilions in our home town, you won’t find a better place to enjoy superb Indian/Nepalese cuisine . It’s the small things you notice in a great restaurant ; friendly but unobtrusive service, well priced selection of wines and beers, plus Naan and poppadoms/pickles/dips that were clearly home made. The main courses we had on consecutive evenings were superb; Nepalese breast of duck was new to us, but was incredible . And as for the chicken shashlik…..best we’ve ever had. On top of all of that, the prices are very competitive. Next time we’re in the area, this will be top of our list for food.

Our first visit here and we were not disappointed, well deserved highly rated reviews. Food was excellent and v tasty, clean and friendly place, with friendly attentative staff. The caramalised onion nan bread was awesome, and so was my Gurkha curry. We will return. Staff could have spoken a little more on reflection but this was no problem for us. Quality food. Keep up the good work, well deserved TA reviews and awards.

The food here is very good along with the friendly service,my main issue with restaurants is that some are using re-formed / processed Chicken which is cheap & horrible & i can say for sure that on Sat 4th June 2022 it was fresh as you can get. I now phone the restaurants before we go just to check for fresh & not processed food. Lovely food good service.

Ordered via the just eat app. Firstly sorry about the photo ! I simply couldn't wait to dig in as the smell was so so good ! Tandoori chicken with rice. This meal was delicious and very very filling. Arrived well before the expected eta.

Greeted on arrival, not much atmosphere could of done with some background music. You could listen to what other people were saying, Went Friday night around 20.30 wasn't that busy. I would say that the food was well prepared nothing to shout about the norm really. After a few minutes after being delivered to the table noticed that my curry went cold, perhaps little thought needed to keep the food warm while on the table. Would I go back yes think I would just to see if any good has been added with reviews. Changed on 22/03/2022 Since changed ownership worth a visit now spot on.

My home town of Long Eaton is a shadow of its former self, like many towns. These days you have to look harder for redeeming features. Mount Gurka Spice is one such gem. The Nepalese specials are amazing, never had a disappointing meal here. This is only topped by the courteous and friendly service which makes it outstanding.

Nam bread wasn't cooked properly. Threw it away. Curry was nice. Not enoughchilli. Mushroom rice was fantastic, Suppose I need to learn how to order properly online.

I'm new to this area so I have tried all takeaways that do curry Mount Gurka came out the best I've stuck with these for the last few months excellent food every time.

Ordered at 5pm via the website for delivery at 6pm, still no food and it's now 8.30pm... Worst of all, the attitude when I phoned to see what was going on is appalling- no apology and the only solution offered was to suggest putting the food in a taxi at my expense because the driver was so busy! I've already paid for delivery from the restaurant! Avoid unless you like being hungry for hours
