Morello Take Away in Glasgow City

Absolutely excellent. The best pizza I have eaten in years, and plenty of other options as well.

Easily the worse kebab ive ever had! Waited 90+ mins the food came freezing cold! The chicken in the kebab was bone dry! The pakora & chips unbelievably greasy i had to actually reheat in the air frier! Im actually shocked at how bad this place was!

10/10 kebab, you’d struggle to get better.👍

*** The response given by the business is utter b/s as nothing like that even happened *** I normally go here quite often and the overall food is quite good, However lately the staff has changed and food and service has become quite poor, staff talk in their own language which is understandable not realising I speak the same language as them, if they are going to talk about me then they should at least make sure I don’t understand what they are saying, they could say they were speaking about someone else but I was the only 1 in the shop and the person kept pointing at me also. The old staff was really nice and friendly but the new staff is the complete opposite, it seems like when the owner is working then everyone is on their best behaviour but when he’s not around they have a free pass to do and say whatever. Onto the worst part, my chicken donner was all mushed up and cold like it was dogs meat left over from the night before, absolutely disgusting is the way to put it, would never come back to this shop again.

Staff couldn’t be more pleasant and the food is good

We ordered chips, cheese and curry sauce. The "sauce" on one of the orders was a congealed cow-pat plopped on top (it was burnt to boot and had a round indent in it - a can? The bottom of the pan?). We scrapped the "sauce" off the chips into the sink and when we tried to wash it away it stayed as jelly-like chunks (it looked like dog food). I prodded it with a fork afterwards and it was still hard, despite being saturated. I have never seen a more disgusting take away in my entire life and the fact that a member of staff served that to us is genuinely unbelievable. In the other order the sauce had the texture of refried beans. Disgusting!

Sadly nowhere near as good as it used to be and staff don’t seem happy, also prices are really high considering the quality of food, I can get a kebab out loads of other kabab shops for a lot cheaper that’s the same quality now as Morelos, so sadly won’t be back, I used to love this place and would travel over from the south side.

A big massive pile of bland mushy meat. Sauce was hawf decent. Massive piles of not very good salad not the freshest either. Service without a smile. Would I go here again? Btw the meat wasn't the warmest. Would I go here again? Never in my puff.

Chips and cheese a bit disappointing. Tasted like rehearsal and not a lot of cheese had to put more on it shame as partner kebab is always nice. Chips not so much

Used to be the best place around. Went in this week and couldn't believe the drop in quality and increase in price. They have a sign up saying they needed to increase prices due to costs. Fair enough. But my donner and chips was around 40% more expensive than the last time I was in and the container was smaller. They seem to be using cheaper meats to save money too. The pakora was terrible. Won't be going back sadly.

Was in last night ordered food when waiting on my food a rat run out from under the counter then under the other counter asked for my money bk and left the shop! At this point they should have closed the shope to deal with the issue but they didn't the shop stayed open the rest of the night

Morello used to be brilliant. Shame it has gone downhill so much lately. Last few months since they got new staff in its been terrible. Last two delivery orders I had from them both took 90 minutes which is pathetic as I live a quarter mile away. Previously they would deliver within 30 minutes. Also now the pizzas are burnt, the chips are either undercooked or they only give you half the box. The new staff are lazy and just aren't interested. So disappointed

Delivery was bit late but no doubt customer service and quality of food is class.

Great local takeaway , freshly made food at decent prices.

Avoid this place at all costs. Got food delivered tonight which was 20mins late everything was cold. Phoned to tell them was told hold on a min and ended up waiting for 15mins and had to hang up they clearly forgot about me. Customer service and quality of food is an absolute disgrace.

Absolutly shocking the amount of chicken for £6.50 the 4 bits are as thin as paper , never worth the money , will not be back and this was after the person serving got my order mixed up .

Con artists. They said 5 quid any size any pizza. Then don't charge you until you've ordered at which point "that deal was only online". Also said have a large pakora rather than a medium because of the weight - charged us for it. Half an hour wait. Also pizzas 7.50 online but more expensive in store. Oh and got our order wrong twice in shop - got home and it's still wrong pizza

Driver got lost, but was really apologetic when he did arrive. Didn't affect the food, it was still hot when we received it. Food was lovely, first time we have had a delivery from them. Will definatly order again

We were served without manners or a smile and quite frankly their attitude stank. Still it was the closest and it is 4 stars at the time of in ordering. The pizza toppings were short (and veggies don't cost as much as meat). 2 kebabs were pretty small given that they were £13 each. Mixed pakora was also a disappointment as it was in mostly veg. It didn't look great at the counter and this should have been an indicator to avoid as it was fairly poor. Maybe it was old? Won't be back.

Stalker-like, spam text messages sent with the frequency of the Glasgow subway. No option to stop these without payment. Do not order online unless you wish to sell your soul to the voucher codes devil. Food's alright, 6/10.

Bought 16 inch pizza tonight but chicken was off. That was 16" piccante pizza and added extra topping chicken donner. I am sure that extra topping chicken doner was off and I ordered online from your website. It used to be great takeaway but from few times not had great experience

Only takes 1 bad one to put me off forever and that 1 went right in the bin. Didn’t complain, don’t imagine it would be worth it.

I called them at 19:30 saying the guy left at 19:20 it's not 20:00 and he hasn't shown up. I tried to phone them but it was engaged properly because they pull this stunt off all the time, now idk where food is and I'm hungry and angry at them, they use to be nice people now they've let me down. I'm never ever ordering from here again, you've let me down and the fact I use to love getting food from yous was a good but now its just disappointing and rude.

I've been coming here for years and it never seems to dissapoint. The staff are friendly and the food is always amazing. Definately the best food place in the west end.

I've been waiting for a 10 inch veggie pizza for 2 hours now. I call the restaurant and it says their lines busy, looked at the other reviews and realised I'm probably not getting my pizza or money back. Very angry, definitely don't order from here guys. Feels like a scam.

Do not use the morello website to place an order, I am bombarded with text messages from the takeaway every couple days!! They send constant spam to your phone.(5 months now) No way of stopping these messages as the number doesn't accept replies. I have blocked and blacklisted the number and still get constant messages. Very annoying indeed! I never had this problem with any other takeaway. No way to opt out or stop the messages!!! I enjoy their food but these text message spam offers are just doing my head in!!! If I wanted to buy your food I will contact you, you can't convince me to buy your food with stupid pain in the arz texts!! Very bad practice!!!!

Horrible server!!! We were trying to choose our meals and I asked for a recommendation. His response was “hurry up- we close in 10 minutes”. After that they told us they would only accept cash- sounds like tax evasion if you ask me...

Terrible quality for the price. The Chicken Pakora was a tiny piece of dried out Dog meat with rock hard batter . And overpriced for the tiny portion. I used to use morello's years ago, back when the food was edible. I think it was different owners.

Best chicken kebabs around and a nice garlic sauce also

Best doner ever. < I said that 3 years ago and came here recently! Doner is exactly the same. Thick freshly cut, clean and delicious. With their warm homemade chilli sauce and just cabbage and naan. Literally 10/10

Large order made, zero communication and complete order failed without notice. If I could give zero stars I would. No refund offered so I'm £50 down and entire family hungry and bereft. Just wanted a wee bit of chicken. Shambles.

You are want to be put off from take aways this is a place may be for you. After waiting for a food for over an hour decided to collected it myself. Pakora was old and cold, so was kebab. So if you like horrible customer service and horrible food you know what to do!

Ordered chips with chicken and cheese, chips were quite cold and too oily, almost impossible to eat, meat itself is quite good, but as chips were cold cheese not even melted. Probably it would be better if I ordered food during the evening, but if you’re making an order during the day you might have the same

Ordered from here on UberEats at around 11:20pm which they accepted my order and decided not to deliver the food but keep my money as it was paid by card. How disgusting of a human being must you be to be stealing essentially rather than cancel if you couldn’t be bothered making the food.

Had a Saturday 8pm order, which included a Spicy Lamb Calzone meal (includes chips & a can), Special Pizza (loaded with toppings). Promptly ready for pick-up, having paid online. Really enjoyed both meals, leaving 4 slices (half of the pizza) for breakfast! Would definitely recommend.

The guys were quite rude and unwelcoming. I am unfamiliar with eastern kebabs and all the variations, the guys have no patience to help. They get quickly dismissive and get bothered with no effort to hide it. I like extra garlic sauce and i ask for it. Today I asked for extra garlic sauce and as the guy prepared my chicken doner i heard a voice counting 3, 4 , 5 while i was standing there looking toward the street. It turned out to be the guy counting the number of ladle spoons of garlic sauce he is pouring on top of my doner!!!.. His facial expression indicating it was done in clear mockery.. The guy did not even look at me or welling to stop, he was not even looking to see if i was paying any attention. The result: a chicken doner soaking in too much garlic sauce that went straight to the bin + i feel offended + i am never buying there again!!! The advice: Never think of eating doner from Morello unless you are an expert on kebab and doner types and do not mind the unwelcoming attitude of some of their workers.

The staff don't have basic etiqquttes. I asked the staff of what I'm pointing at is chicken pakora and he asks me, "does this look like chicken pakora"? If I knew what the product looked like, I wouldn't have asked. What's even more frustrating is that the shop doesn't have a card reader. Did I step inthe 18th century or wot? Decided not to buy from these people. Only giving one star because that's a must. Don't even deserve that in my opinion.

Morello's is hands down the best kebab shop I've been to in the UK. Super friendly staff, cheap prices and terrific food. I just wish they would take card!

Got a donner kebab tonight and brought it home. Thought it was just steam from the bag which was wet opened kebab and it will harden grease/fat it was that’s bad it looked like egg yolk never again. Sorry

Absolutely disgusting and waste of money. I bought 12" pizza and it was ridiculous taste better ti buy frozen from aldi or any super market even they charge £9.90 which I normally get from other takeaway which is more delicious than this and charge just £6. Bit morello is ridiculous will highly not recommended....Rubbish

If you want a cold pizza this is the place for it. Delivery was sent out with a uber driver who had another delivery. Which meant my pizza was on the road for 30 mins getting cold. Should really avoid drivers who are gonna take so much time. Also got told on the phone that I could order directly from there website next time and when an uber driver comes they pay them cash to bring it, so not only do the uber drivers have two orders by uber but also have more on top by morello. Poor show

Bad service and always mess up the order. Gave them a few chances and they mess up every time. DO NOT go here and waste your time and money. Staff dont even know how speak proper to a customer, pathetic excuse of a business.

So frustrating having to bin what was previously a great restaurant. Clearly stated 'no salt, vinegar, salad or sauce please' .. but due to the delinquency and ignorance of the restaurant, the food came smothered in sauce. Pizza missing off order too. Meal ruined, complete shambles.

Its funny how reading through the comments Morello has a track record of shoddy service. Garbage takeaway confirmed, I hope it is condemned. My review is as follows - Absolutely disgusting service. Avoid, avoid, avoid! Ordered a pizza, barely finished speaking and I am immediately told to wait outside. Fair enough, corona and all that. 10 mins later two pretty 20something girls walk in order their food and are just waiting in the takeaway. WITH NO MASKS ON! Funny, that they aren't being told to wait outside? The girls are just standing in the shop while the shop staff leer at the girls. I walk in to check on the status of my pizza and the girls decide themselves to wait outside as there was now 3 of us in the shop, when signage indicated only 2 were allowed. During my wait, a friend of the shop staff comes in and is greeted by the shop staff, with NO MASK ON. I'm a bit shocked to say the least, but I stay quiet i am hungry and tired and cold and just want my food. Finally after a 15 min wait, the pizza chef puts my pizza into a box on the counter and tells his shop staff its ready, they don't hear as they are busy preparing other orders and are talking about the girls in their native language. So I am standing looking at my pizza on the counter getting cold while the 2 shop staff wander back and forth. I finally get the attention of the shop staff and signal to him that my pizza is there and he looks at me with indifference and says with such IS your name Robert?? Clearly it isn't and another shop member realises that the pizza is in fact for me and I'm given my pizza and rushed out the door. I don't take writing bad review lightly. But bad customer service and creepy, leering men foaming at the mouth over a couple of female customers is not on. I will not be returning there to be treated as an inconvenience to the shop staff nor would I recommend and females go there unless you want to be leered at by creepy men. Also the pizza was nothing special. Don't give these creeps your business and I would recommend spending your money elsewhere. P.S its also hilarious the takeway insists on cash only despite being late in 2020 and in a pandemic where cash handling should be limited to avoid the spread of Corona. I hope all the earnings are declared to HMRC!.

I visited your take away last year and loved it. This year twice I have been and your service is terrible!! My boyfriend speaks your staffs native language so can understand that you clearly spoke rudely about him, your customer, whilst he was waiting for food. The food was overpriced this time but bearable. Today we came and ordered food. The man got our order wrong and upon realising my partner is Persian but choosing to speak Englsih started shouting "joonam"in his face. The food amount was pitiful, badly packaged and tasted disgusting. I had to bring it back as I was given the wrong thing and was glared at by all your staff when I said I wanted a refund instead of exchange. Get a grip people 😊✌ It doesn't cost anything to be nice.

One particular rude guy who has very poor customer service. His customer service was very terrible, unprofessional, unacceptable, inadequate and awful, I literally left my order and walked out. It doesn't matter how good the food is. It take one rude member of staff to lose customers.

Really disappointing experience had takeaways from here before and was reasonably good,however this time it was terrible ordered 2 mixed kebabs a pepperoni pizza pizza and chips cheese and curry, got home to find no sauce dips for the kebabs which wasnt too disappointing as I had chilli sauce and condiments , opened up the kebabs which were thrown together only to find pink chicken donner the chips were also raw in the middle phoned to complain and was offered to get it replaced which I declined was then offered a refund which I exepted on arriving he examined everything and had the cheek to with hold £2 for a slice of pizza that was ate

Foods second to none. Well worth jumping in the car if your wanting something special to take away . Personal favourite is there Donner meat 🌍 class .

Open through the day and night (not 24hrs), the staff are always friendly, the food is always fresh, there's a good selection of choices, and the prices are fair for Glasgow centre, definitely worth a visit imo 👍

asked about 4 times for garlic sauce but they still somehow managed not to put garlic sauce on my food and put red sauce on instead! only realised when I got home so couldnt be bothered to go back.

For my money the best kebab in Glasgow and it's not even close. The doner is the best in Glasgow but if you don't enjoy a UK style (ie greasy) doner go for one of the chicken or lamb shish varieties, all of which are uncommonly delicious and freshly grilled on request.
