Just what we need to satisfy the ole sweet-tooth. Great service, we were in and out in 10-12 minutes. Great ice cream, the rum raisin was especially good.

This is some of the best ice cream I've ever had. My regret? I only had three flavours, and they were all amazing - vanilla, strawberry, and raspberry ripple.

Since moving 2 doors to new premises last year Morelli Ice Cream has introduced many new and exciting treats. Whether you want a plain cone or a strawberry icecream waffle you will not be disappointed. Morelli Ice Cream uses only top quality products in the production of the many flavours of ice cream on offer. Sometimes there may be queue but it's worth the wait.

The staff are the friendliest bunch, always service with a smile! The extra hygiene measures during this time made me feel very at ease. Great tasting ice cream! Can’t fault!!

The staff in morellis were very polite and were good at ensuring we used hand sanitiser and changed their gloves while we were being served. The ice cream tasted great and there was a great variety of flavours. We will definitely be back!!

Best ice cream in Newcastle I struggle to understand why you would go any place else to get ice cream whilst in Newcastle. The customer service and COVID-19 precautions taken by all staff was up to a very high standard. I couldn’t recommend enough!

Morellis ice cream is my favourite in Newcastle and the staff are so friendly, everything was clean and there was sanitizer for the customers. The young woman that served us was friendly and changed her gloves making extra effort due to COVID 19

Just visited and was horrified by the lack of observance of Covid measures. No social distancing being encouraged in the shop - in fact people were being encouraged into the very small shop alongside me, only cash taken, the girl who served my ice cream used the same gloves for cash, no staff wearing masks or visors. Will not be returning again and would recommend people find other places taking this pandemic more seriously. Very disappointing.

It amazes me why people queue at a certain establishment close by, I have had ice cream at this other 'very popular' place, however the ice cream quality at Morelli's beats it hands down. (Coconut is excellent)

Thick and creamy. I had the honey ice cream, whoah!! Never had that flavor before, so good. My son had a strawberry cone - he said it tasted like vanilla ice cream with strawberry syrup. Not sure if that is good or bad, but he ate the whole thing.

Called here on a classic car run with a dozen others after having had an evening meal in Annalong as we were aware that Morelli's had an ice cream shop in Newcastle. We were not disappointed as the business has been franchised throughout Northern Ireland and a number of us were brought up having sampled the original flavours of ice cream in the Portstewart and Portrush areas. We were well, and quickly, served in the shop with a variety of flavours bought and an odd one shared in the group. Will call again should the need arise in the Newcastle area.

Traditional Italian ice cream recipe form the Morelli family, now franchised out across Northern Ireland. Various flavours of which my favourite is the vanilla which ahs won awards.

Just love it here,it's great for large groups as they are very competitively priced. Love their diabetic ice cream also.

While on a evening drive to Newcastle Co Down we thought we would treat ourselves to an ice cream as it was a warm evening, the ice cream shop further up the Main Street was queued out on the street so we came further down and got parked easily at the promenade when we noticed Morelli’s ice cream and coffee shop on the other side, we were amazed by the range of flavours available, the guy serving greeted us and gave us time to decide what we we wanted, a three scoop and a two scoop tub were picked with flavours ranging from Parma Violets, Lemon &Lime Ripple, Belguim choc, Dime bar and Honeycomb were decided on, beautiful ice cream, great helpings and very pleasant staff, we will definitely try here again.

Best gelato I've had in a long time. So delicious. The staff were wonderful environment very great. Right on the water. Wonderful visit.

We visited Morrellis in late October and sat outside with our coffees and food. The coffees were really good (1 black & 1 latte), my wife had a piece of carrot cake and I had a large sausage roll both of which were excellent.Charlie the owner was very pleasant and chatted to us about our visit and many other things while we sat, this is a rarity nowadays and was much appreciated. All in all well worth a visit.

Nothing nicer than a summer day and stopping here for an icecream. So many to choice from..I could happily eat my way through a number of flavours. Reasonably priced. I think you gathered I love the ice cream here 😄

The day we went the weather wasn't exactly a hot summer day; not the kind you associate with so wanting a delicious ice cream. Well, I was so wrong; it was a day that I so wanted an ice cream from Morellis.

Coffee, hot chocolate, ice cream all the foodstuff is beautiful and fresh. It's lovely siting out front with the view of the sea and the mountains of Mourne sweeping down.

Helado parece muy apetecible y hay mucha variedad de sabores. Sin embargo, no es tan cremosa y sabrosa como se esperaba. ¿Por qué no tenemos mucho peor calidad de helado (cristales de hielo) que en España, Portugal, etc. Es un nombre famoso Morellis así me esperaba más.

Having heard good things of morellis I had to try for myself, whilst in Newcastle on a good day I found the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Así es Costa,. centra y toda una serie de café puntuará en la zona. Lástima, ya que era la tarta bonita, pero nunca de nuevo.

I can only echo the sentiments expressed in an earlier review (which led me to this gem of an ice cream outlet). The ice cream is delicious. Some slightly weird flavours (such as parma violet, which the server warned me tastes exactly like the old-fashioned sweets - it does!) but you can't beat the double cream vanilla flavour.

Love the fact that the Ice-cream part is on the street so you dont have a crowded resturant. Saw the sundaes and they looked gorgeous but I didnt have time to stop for one. Was expecting them to stick the arm in with the prices but they didnt.

There are so many ice cream shops to choose from in Newcastle, we decided to try Morelli's and it was the nicest Ice Cream I have ever tasted - I'm told their double cream vanilla won best ice cream in the UK recently, so I guess I'm not the only one that enjoys it!!One of our group had the ferrero rocher ice cream and wanted to go back for a second straight away!!

Was a busy sunny day and had the impression that the staff were struggling. The premises could have done with a bit of a clean but the ice cream tasted fine.

My wife and went to Newcastle while the weather was good. We walked along the waterfront towpath from one end of the town to the other. On our return to the car we walked through the town, stopping to look at all the shops. We then stopped for a quick coffee in Morelli's. There is a great selection of ice creams and foods as well as tray bakes and treats. I had a cafe mocha which was very nice. As the weather was good we sat on a wall over the river looking out st the sea. Morelli's had a good number of staff in which meant we weren't waiting long to be served and the staff were very friendly. When in Newcastle we will definitely be calling into Morelli's.Thank you!

Gave into temptation last weekend and went for an ice cream in Morellis. The choices were impossible. I cut it down to 3, Oreo, chocolate cookies and dime bar. Having been offered a taste of all three from the lovely Roisin I decided on the dime bar. Without a doubt the nicest ice cream I have had. Delicious..... Now to go back for the other 2.

Morellis ice-cream is absolutely delicious, creamy and full of flavour. Italian ice-cream made in Northern Ireland, using ingredients sourced in Northern Ireland, what's not to like ?The service is outstanding, quick and friendly.At all times there are at least 16 award winning flavours on offer.Milkshakes, smoothes, soft drinks and coffee are available too.Like it's neighbour, Base Coffee Company, the coffee in Morellis is excellent.

The ice cream was wonderful, just as I remembered it. The best in Newcastle. Even good on a cold day in january.

Just back from a cup of coffee and traybake at Morelli's. It's a grey misty afternoon in Newcastle so after walking the dog in the rain along the promenade my daughter and I decided that a hot drink was in order. It was wonderful sitting outside under the awning admiring the scenery - breathtaking in any weather - and watching the signal from the lighthouse at St. John's Point blinking through the mist. As usual, the service here was friendly and efficient, and our server offered insulated cups to keep the drinks warmer longer and brought us hot water bottles so we were cosy whilst sitting there. What a fabulous way to spend a December afternoon. As usual, a lovely experience at Morelli's.

My nephew is 5 years old with severe allergies one of them being dairy. The only thing he can have is Morellis mango or raspberry sorbet. I asked Ciara about getting a tub of it for him for Christmas as they don't normally have family tubs for sorbets as it wouldn't be as popular as ice cream . Not only did Ciara arranged to make a tub but she said she will personally sterilise the scoops etc to make up a tub. Thanks to Ciara my nephew can have his first Xmas dessert ever! Can't speak highly enough of Ciara and Morellis!

Choice of flavours in Morellis is endless. They even carry a sugar free option called Senza which is amazing. Every flavour you could imagine including a delicious range of frozen sorbets, Smoothies and delicious Milkshakes, all this and the fact that these guys are open all year round until 9pm at the earliest makes this a definite favourite of mine.

Always come to this place when I am back in Portstewart. It is a fantastic location and has a great buzz to it.Ice cream is fantastic and my kids just love the milk shakes

Stopped here for icecream yesterday with family and dog. After checking it was ok to have the dog there, we were served from the wide selection of flavours and had just sat down when the owner arrived at the table with a welcome bowl of water for the dog. How thoughtful! Will be back.

Loads of different flavours , Friendly staff, shop is spot less , there is tables out side to sit and enjoy your ice cream or coffee plus it is opened late which is good

Best iced cream. In spite of all the other big names of iced cream in Newcastle..... Morellis is the best. Try the lemon and lime ripple for example......

got ice cream from here on saturday past there. i enjoyed the ice cream but was a bit expensive. but i suppose these places need to make money. wouldn't say this is best ice cream parlour but does some good trade.

Always really long queues here so that should tell you something about the ice-cream. Serves some nice food too. Good little place to stop and have a coffee break and its right beside the sea. Can be a bit chaotic trying to pay as its hard to know where one queue ends and the next begins. Hope they sort that out as its pretty frustrating. But all in all ice cream makes it worth it.

I don't like this place. Each time I try to pass it my car / van seems to stop out side it and won't start again until I have punched a plain vanilla ice cream which is sooooo creamy. Just lovely

Every time we visit Newcastle ,be it summer or winter,we have to have a chocolate chip 99 cone in Morellis. It always reminds us of our "annual" treat on the sunday school trip "many" years ago when we had the few pence to treat ourselves to a 99. Delicious. And there are many more flavours to choose from.

On a long drive from Northern Ireland, we stumbled upon this gem. While we would have settled upon any ice cream, even from a grocery store, this came as a shock. The servers were warm, friendly and funny. We had no idea what a "poke" was and clearly they got a kick out of the American tourists. Why can't the US get this here - especially the honeycomb ice cream?! With small pieces of honeycomb throughout making it a bit crunchy, it is incredible. Wow is all we could say.

Probably the best icecream in Newcastle! Worth a visit! I had mint chocolate and it was gorgeous!! The shop is very tiny but I would recommend it to visit if you are in the area. There is plenty to see and do nearby.

They without a doubt have the best Ice cream ever! Now there is a cafe next door owned by the same person called the base which is also great.

As a regular vistor to Newcastle Morelli's is our family's favourite stop. The ice cream is by far the best in the town and well priced for quality and quantity.Staff are always helpful and patient especially when the younger ones are trying to make up their mind. we always combine our stop at Morelli's with a visit next door to "Base" for the best coffee and atmosphere in Newcastle. Its also one of the only coffee shops to stay open in the evening all year round. Best views in town.

Morellis have the best ice cream in the town and prices are very reasonable. Always greeted with a friendly smile from pleasant and courteous staff. Great atmosphere and very welcoming. Love the sitting area out the front. You will get no better view of the beach and mountains. Well worth a visit - a definite must when in the area

Called today for an ice cream with my 7 year old niece.. After queuing for a while we got to the top.. We were looking at the flavours and the woman kept barking at us "next" there was nobody behind us at this stage.. When we ordered she spent her time making our ice creams tutting and rolling her eyes.. When my niece asked for chocolate sprinkles this staff member acted like it was hugely out of her way with a sigh and another roll of her eyes.. For the price of the ice creams and the horrible attitude of the staff if say don't bother..

We did some serious ice cream comparison this holiday. After all it's not often you go to a place where there are 5 locally made ice creams. Out of the 4 of us, 3 of us give our vote to Morelli's. It's not so sweet as some - which we favour The chocolate gets my repeat order but there's lots of flavours to choose from.

Ice-cream was delicious and the choice made it very difficult to pick what you wanted. You also had to decide whether you wanted cones, tubs (medium), tubs (Large!) or glass dishes so basically was a choice everywhere! Staff are friendly and prices were reasonable. We ate in, but as it was a sunny day everywhere you looked people were eating ice cream walking down main street or along the beach :-) Was a lovely treat in a very nice place.

This was a great find ice cream was delicious and a great range and choice , the girl serving us was very friendly , was reasonably priced too the only drawbck was all the wasps which were very annoying but there is not a lot you can do about that , have a try you will not be disappointed
