Such a beautiful cafe! We were so impressed with the soup and toasties, definitely our new spot for lunch treats. Loved the cake selection too, can’t wait to try all of them. The owners and their team are so warm and welcoming, they made our experience 10/10. See you again soon!

The service is disappointing and spoilt our experience of this lovely little cafe. Some of the young girls serving need support and some training. They did not remove the dirty dishes or cups when they brought our next round of drinks ( the table was then full of dirty crockery) they did not ask if our meals were OK or whether we needed anything else. We had to ask them three times for some tap water. Just basics but if this was improved it would make such a difference. The sandwich was very tasty but for the price a bit of side salad, some coleslaw or some crisps would have been nice. The food is good but the service needs to improve significantly.

Incredible spot for a brunch , delicious pastries and amazing coffee. We met the new owners and gave us the warmest welcome. Will definitely be back - best soup I’ve had FYI 😮‍💨

What a lovely little cafe in the country. We had breakfast and coffee, which we all really enjoyed. The poached eggs were perfect. The cake selection looks amazing and we will be back to try some of their cake. The service was great and the staff very friendly. Highly recommended little cafe in Chew Magna.

WARNING to anyone who is coeliac/gluten free. I went here yesterday for the first time in a while and understand management has changed over. There were 3 young girls working behind the counter and the service wasn’t brilliant but I asked about gluten free cake options (as this has always been a safe place to go) and despite them so say checking the ingredients twice when asked by both me and my husband and reassuring me there was no gluten, I then spent the day being violently sick and couldn’t move from the toilet!! I was shaking and cold and my entire body made me feel like I was going to die (sounds dramatic but true)! I was unable to spend any time with my children or look after the needs of my 9 month old baby. It’s now the next day and I’m still feeling terrible. I have never experienced such a bad ‘gluten’ attack in my life and this was all down to the carelessness of clearly untrained staff!!! People should not be allowed to serve food if they do not know what is safe and what is not for people with autoimmune diseases and other allergens or disorders. This is totally unacceptable and down to bad management. Clearly these cakes contained gluten and were not safe!!! Will not be returning out of fear alone!

I have been coming here for years and years (at least 15 years) and have seen this place change ownership many times. Never though have I experienced the rudeness from the staff which I experienced today. Two young girls behind the counter both of whom were very unprofessional and rude. One then sat on the bench in the window with her feet on the chair watching her iPhone at loud volume. The other got my order wrong and stomped off toward the kitchen when I told her. There was no apology. One then started staring and giggling and generally both were very childish. The food was ok but the rudensss and unprofessionalism of the two girls left a sour taste and for that reason I would not return. My business will now go to Chew Kitchen whose staff are highly professional and friendly.

Arrived for a quick lunch!!! There were 3 staff, and 4 customers. Ordered 2 toasted sandwiches from the minimal menu plus 2 coffees. Coffees arrived 4 minutes apart, but we're nice. After 15 minutes we asked the 2 girls serving how long our sandwiches would be, to be greeted with a blank stare. "Sorry, we forgot to put order in"!!!@@# Like I said we were the only order, as the other two customers were already dealt with. Absolutely farcical service. Get your act together!! The sandwich was nice, as a positive, spoiled by everything else.

Very disappointing - Avoid - NO GF at all NO Soup NO Vegan - had to buy my three grandchildren toasted bacon sandwich - only option - Bacon was the cheapest streaky bacon - felt a bit of a rip off

Ordered a Toasted sourdough BLT 5.95 - hmmmm what I got was precooked cheap bacon, in a very thin ciabatta type panini bread 😞 very underwhelming. Such a shame as the sandwiches used to be lovely. I wonder if it’s changed hands recently. Coffee was still good but won’t be rushing back to eat.

Popped to Moon Dance for lunch. We had delicious food and coffee. It was nice to have so many gluten free options available. The staff were very understanding with my allergy and nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly and polite. Great Service!

Two of us called in yesterday at 9.50 for a quick stop and left at 11.20.We had toast that wasn't toasted,lack of butter,tea and coffee that was cold by the time we got food.Good job the place was only a quarter full.They would never cope.

Ordered a coffee and latte. Asked for a small something for my grandson. Everything they sold was a little to big for him. I said to him I’d get him a cookie from the cooperative. The one lady said “can you please not eat the cookie at our table”. I couldn’t believe what heard!! Shameful!!!

Busy place with a lovely seating area outside to watch the world go by. A very small cappuccino for the price of £3.00, which may be the going rate in such pretty surroundings, but it was not full to the brim... Felt like locals and regulars were more welcome than visitors.

It's lovely to be able to pop in for coffee or lunch here, the place does get busy though and there are often people waiting for take-aways. There are a few table outside on the pavement which are nice to sit at on a sunny day if dog walking. So glad this business has been taken over and is open again after the pandemic.

Did a lovely circular walk from Chew Valley caravan Park, stopped at this lovely cafe just for a coffee. The food looked good maybe next time we’re in the area we could be tempted! Very pleasant staff nice service👍

Stopped for our lunch here while we were on a family bike ride. Sandwiches and coffee all round and everything was outstanding. The bread is fresh, fillings generous and tasty. We will definitely be back!

Excellent, completely refurbished in 2020 the new management and staff are brilliant, food fantastic Secret court yard garden, inside seating and front terrace, to sit and watch the world go by . Visited to many times now to know

Me and my friend have visited this cafe every week for a few months now. Every visit is as excellent as the previous one from the minute you walk in. The staff are friendly and really cater to your every need, going above and beyond, greeting you with a smile as soon as you walk through the doors. We really could not fault this place! The food and drinks are to die for and maintain the highest of standards at each visit. Would definitely recommend coming to this lovely cafe. Well done Moondance!!

I went to Moondance on Monday to meet a friend and ended up having lunch. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the coffee was delicious! I had the Salmon on Rye, which was amazing (and such great value!) So nice to see happy...

Visited with my partner, both had the Moondance Burger. Was huge! Both were very impressed and will be back again. We have been here on quite a few occasions. There is seating inside and outside. Lovely to sit outside in their garden courtyard in the summer months. Food is reasonably priced and always tasty.

Louise and her assistant made us a gorgeous dinner in Chew Magna at a barn we had hired for my sisters hen do. The canapés were delicious and presented to a high standard. The main meal and deserts were also delicious and all the party were very impressed with the meal which allowed us to have a relaxing evening. We greatly appreciated how clean the kitchen was left afterwards - what a treat!

Rushed out the house with out any breakfast this morning so quickly popped into moondance for a quick bacon sandwich. We were greeted by very friendly staff who even gave my son who is dairy intolerant a sample of a new dairy and gluten free chocolate which they may be stocking in the near future he devoured in no time with the comment of yummy.The bacon sandwiches came out which we ordered to go and at a very reasonable price of £3.50 we left happy and after eating the sandwiches very content.Will definitely be returning to this gem of a cafe.

We spent a few days in Chew Magna in July......what a beautiful part of the world! We found the Moondance Cafe during our first afternoon in the village, when we went to find a late lunch with some Glutenfree options. We thought that would prove a challenge in such a small place, but how wrong we were! Moondance has a wide range of delicious,freshly made dishes available as well as plenty of slices and cakes to accompany a cup of tea or coffee. The gluten intolerant member of our little group was delighted, and of course we made several visits whilst we were staying in the village. As well as lovely food for all dietary needs, Louise and her coworkers were so friendly,welcoming and informative on interesting spots to visit in the area. We absolutely recommend Moondance if you are in this part of Somerset.

Popped in here, as I was passing through, and needed an early afternoon coffee. Saw the menu and decided on a spot of lunch. What a treat. Great salad and frittata, lovely coffee served in a very pleasant shaded garden. Staff all very pleasant. Am likely to be passing through fairly regularly between various sites I work on in the area and will definitely endeavour to work my day around this little gem.

Visited last year and came back for more, truely worth a visit for a lovely lunch and afternoon tea! Staff really helpful, food very tasty (my beetroot and goats cheese tart was scrumptious) and a great cuppa!!! Lovely little gift shop next door too!

We came to Chew Valley to walk the lake only to find out you can't. So we decided to follow the public footpath which eventually brought us to this gorgeous cafe.

Thank you to Louise and Sandy for my birthday private dining experience at home last night. We had exceptional food with a tailored menu and the professional service was excellent . I have been to Moondance pretty well every week for well over a year. The Chew Valley is well worth visiting especially if you stop off in Chew magna. The Moondance Cafe ticks all the boxes: friendly and welcoming staff, who know how to make good espresso based coffees (I'm always amazed at how many don't), a very nice atmosphere and good food. I've never had a Moondance Cafe breakfast but am always envious when I see other folk tucking in!

What a wonderful place for coffee and we came back for lunch after a walk round the village. Delish sandwiches and salad and superbly presented. A place that really cares about customers and the atmosphere is very warm indeed. We were lucky to get a table as Friday lunchtime is a busy time..

The food here is delicious and the atmosphere is very friendly. I come here with my boyfriend for brunch sometimes as they serve vegetarian options which is always cooked and presented well. I'd definitely recommend it to others.

Driving through Magna today we noticed The Moondance Cafe bathed in early autumn sunshine. All pavement seats were taken and we felt the urge to stop at such an inviting sight. The menu and cakes looked delicious so we sat in the sunny window and ordered a glorious Victoria sponge along with tasty 'Eggy' Soda Bread and Crispy bacon. Washed down with first class coffee. The Moondance is a dear little place and the staff are as 'sunny' as the Cafe's position!

While visiting Chew Magna we decided to pop into the Moondance Cafe for lunch and could not have been happier with our visit. Delicious homemade sandwiches with generous fillings (unlike many of the chain coffee shops) as well as good quality coffee and exceptional customer service! I would highly recommend visiting if you are in Chew Magna. Additionally there is a delightful gift shop next door, attached to the Cafe which is well worth a visit!

I had a homemade goats cheese and Mediterranean vegetable tartlet accompanied by a mouth watering array of wonderful salads. A delicious and nutritious lunch which fueled me back to Bristol on my bike. Coffee's good too with milk provided in miniature milk churns - nice touch!

The wife and myself went to Moondance for a cup of coffee and a teacake after we’ve heard so many good things about this place especially the coffee.Moondance has a nice ambience with friendly staff but that’s where the positive comments stop really.I thought the coffee was very average and my wife’s cappuccino was lukewarm.The toasted teacakes wasn’t very soft and was quite hard and then to top it all the lady overcharged me by nearly £5!Now, she was very apologetic and I accepted her apology in good grace.I also thought Moondance was quite expensive (Probably being in Chew Magna) however value for money is everything to me and I don’t care if Drinks/Food are expensive if I acquire VFM and on this occasion, I did not.There is nothing here that would attract me back and I’m aware my comments are out of synch with most of the reviews on here however I am a top contributor on Trip Advisor, lucky enough to visit lots of coffee houses all over the UK and I have a passion for good coffee so………………anyway, that’s my honest view.

Moondance is a very lovely café in the main street with a gift shop attached. The staff are friendly and the food is varied, lots to choose from and the cakes are delicious! I have been here before and this time we sat in the garden this time and it was peaceful yet not forgotten by the staff.

Walked from Chew valley lake to Chew Magna and found this place for lunch. Staff were very friendly and our dog was very welcome too. Lunch menu was excellent with plenty of freshly cooked food which was well cooked and very tasty. Garden at the back was very pleasant. Overall highly recommended.

I've been coming here for years but there is now a massive difference since Louise has taken over. Enticing brunch menu and delicious food. Incredibly friendly. This is exactly what Moondance needed and I feel the new ownership will make this a huge success.

Went past Moondance today and was so impressed by the beautiful Christmas window display. As a resident, I spotted the update immediately and was drawn into the shop. There are some gorgeous gift ideas for Christmas. It looks fab!

Dropped in for coffee, the girl was covering things up with cling film (4 pm) she was rude and left me waiting while she continued to cover things up. We ordered our drinks and the girl started banging plates and stacking boxes of food in the fridge. Poor hygiene and the display cabinet is covered in black mould. Will never return. Awful.

Doing a circular walk Chew Valley Lake to Chew Magna this was a very welcome stop off half way round our walk. Staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Homemade cakes, savouries and cream teas which I was told were a new addition to the menu. Lovely seating area outside at the back and also seating outside at the front.

This is a regular haunt of mine and they do and excellent range of hot drinks (lovely cappuccino) and homemade cakes or they have a great hot lunch menu including toasties, jacket potatoes etc... well worth a visit

After a really good 3hrs on the bike I needed a quick snack so decided on the moondance cafe wasn't 100% if it was open from the outside but so glad it was. Could do with an open sign outside, but no big deal.Very friendly staff and very helpful. Free Wi-Fi you need to ask a staff member for a password.Free parking behind the pub opposite.It was mid afternoon when I visited and had a cheese and bacon melt it was very nice and recommended by a staff member (good choice).Would definitely use again and made my day most enjoyable.

A lovely little cafe with outside tables where the sun pours in at lunchtime. They serve delicious Illy coffee, and their salads were 'different', fresh and very tasty. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Lovely cake and good drinks, attached to a super little knick-knacks shop offering local products as well as memorabilia. Cafe frequently hosts meetings for new mums, cyclists and locals as well as passing walkers. Nice secluded garden with sun umbrellas, creative range of filling lunch options. Just a shame it's not open on Sundays. Did I mention the fabulous home-made cake?

At it's best on a sunny day when you can take a break and sit outside on the terrace and watch the world go by with a drink and treat to eat.

We chanced upon this great little cafe on a trip from Bath to see friends in the Felton area. The service was great, the food delicious, and with the sun shining, the table out front was perfect to watch the world go by.We will definitely be back!

I love this cafe and shop and have visited numerous times - the gift shop is brimming with exciting gifts and a huge selection of cards. The cafe is full of delicious food, great for lunch, tea and plenty of choice of scrummy homemade cakes. When the sun shines, there is either a secluding walled garden at the back or tables and chairs at the front.... great for people watching!

Love this local cafe in trendy Chew Magna. The cafe is located in one side of a gorgeous shop selling beautiful gifts. There are books for sale sprinkled around the cafe section, which you can just pick up and look at whilst you eat. The sofas and chairs cosy and feel the whole cafe has a hip feel to it. There are metal tables and chairs outside, for the summer, so you watch the world go by. The food is interesting and really very good. There are usual staples like jacket potatoes and baguettes as well as more interesting item and salads. One of my favorite places and somewhere that always impresses my friends from the city when they meet me here. Worth a trip out from Bristol and Bath for this shop and cafe.
