The food is always excellent and good value. However sometimes the service is less than perfect. The attention to customers sometimes lacks conviction. As in, you don't feel valued as a customer. Which is a vital part of enjoying the experience.

Takeaway - dry chicken in both dishes. Chicken dansak and chicken jalfrezi. Chicken jalfrezi was in a sloppy insipid tomato sauce which was not eaten. 1 of the naan breads was burnt and inedible. Shame food was taken home as if was closer would have taken back.

Rang for a delivery, The guy wanted to charge me £3 extra because I did not order through the website, at this point I should have trusted my gut instinct and not ordered. He then said ok no delivery charge, even though it says orders over £20 free delivery. Arrived within an hour, as promised. The curry itself was a medium chicken curry & mushroom rice. The curry was watery flavorless. Th rice tasted burnt. Do your self a favor and dont order you curry here, really terrible.

Waited over an hour for delivery. Called to chase it up and they said they couldn’t find the flat so just didn’t deliver it (they had our contact number and didn’t try calling). Food obviously then arrived cold. Very bland and tasteless, lamb was chewy, korma tasted no different to the masala. Peshwari naan fell apart so we couldn’t even eat that. Onion Bhajis again had no taste - all you could taste was the oil it had been cooked in. Second time we’ve ordered from here and previous time wasn’t great either. Wouldn’t return.

Worst Indian restaurant i ever ate in.. please dont waste your money here.. i ordered samosa (they fried readymade rumali roti samosa and gave), aloo chaat (they gave tasteless spiceless aloo sabzi over a poori, when complained, staff said he wasn't aware of what is aloo chaat), lamb tikka biryani (they gave fried rice, non spicy, undercooked hard dry meat), sag paneer (without any much paneer pieces), peshawari roti (this was okay)... We wasted 35 pounds here... Even the bill was hand written one... Not sure if they pay proper taxes...

First of all, they don’t have chai. I was simply surprised by the fact that Indian restaurants that don’t have chai exist. I ordered fish masala. We were the only customers when we arrived, but it took nearly 30 minutes to get the food. It was way too sweet, let alone not spicy at all. I wonder if local people like this sweet curry given the rate they got. Those who know authentic Indian cuisine will be disappointed. The staff were very nice though.

The service was exceptionally good and the guy I spoke to on the phone was welcoming courteous and friendly. None of that would have mattered if the food was disappointing but it wasn't. Enjoyed it thoroughly and I'm going to use it it as my go-to now. This was the last of the the well rated Indian restaurants in the area that I've tried. Moved into the area two years ago and have slowly worked through all of the Indian restaurants in Newhaven and Seaford. A very pleasant experience. Being the closest table to the entrance door and protected only by a decorative screen was not great as when the door opened, we were hit by a blast of cold air. The food was very good and the service friendly and pleasant. I'm a bit out of touch with prices but I would think they are mid range. The decor was plain but clean, wouldn't think it the place for a romantic evening but we left satisfied, overall a pleasant experience.

We have been regularly ordering takeaways from here since we moved to Seaford three years ago. In the past they have always been tasty. Unfortunately we have noticed a gradual decline over the last 6 months in food quality and customer service. Our last takeaway was ordered at 6.50pm and were told an hour and a half wait time. Our food had not arrived 2 hours later so we called to see if we had been forgotten. A lady apologised and said it was just the naan left to cook so it would arrive within ten minutes. It was finally delivered a further hour later which took the total wait time to three hours. We understand you must have been very busy (this is great for you considering the impact covid has had on everyone’s finances) but we feel very disappointed with the service. We think it was more likely our order was forgotten and then we were lied to rather than told the truth. Our dinner was ruined as we were left waiting for 3 hours and ate very late. The only sign of amends was one extra onion bhaji and 2 extra poppadums. Considering we are loyal customers and spent £40 (which is a lot of money for us at the moment) we would have hoped to receive a stronger gesture by way of apology. We understand that mistakes happen but this was dealt with quite badly by your staff. Due to this experience, we will be unlikely to use Moon of India again. We emailed the restaurant a month ago to give the opportunity to respond (before leaving a bad review here) but we have had no reply.

Last two visits were very disappointing, we were offered a choice of two house wines , chose one but when we ordered a second bottle we were told that they had only the one bottle . Long wait for food to arrive , part of the order arrived at the table ten minutes after the first part , we had to ask twice before they remembered to bring some water and had to ask for the air conditioning to be turned down as it was so cold . We have been going to the Moon of India for over 20 years and are really disappointed with how it has changed from a friendly relaxed atmosphere to more like the hustle and bustle of a fast food outlet with poor service and untrained / unprofessional waiters / waitresses. The problems continued with our takeaway last night for ourselves and five friends , were told it would take one hour but after an hour and a half we phoned to check and it finally arrived over two hours after ordering with two items missing .On a positive note the food is good but We won’t be returning anytime soon .

To be honest I have not eaten a decent curry in Seaford for more than two years and certainly not bothered with a sit down meal for more than 3 years as quite frankly, the standard and quality of any of the restaurants is appalling, so for this reason why spend decent money on a meal that is rubbish, and that’s the reason why I choose to buy mine from Morrison’s Supermarket, they are cheaper and quick to cook and actually look better and taste extraordinarily good.I have been eating at Curry restaurants from 1971 as a young teenager and had more than my fair share of diverse experience in different regional Towns and London businesses including America and Europe I think I know what’s good and reasonably fair Indian cuisine, so I will be honest and fair in my opinions. My Wife and I ordered straight off the takeaway/ delivery menu which should be exactly what you would expect just the same as having a sit down meal, and having used the Moon of India before it simply has fallen down in my expectations immensely in quality and presentation of meals supplied. The food was supposedly two different dishes unfortunately they looked and tasted the same, the side dish was far too chunky when should be smaller pieces, the Nan should have had almonds but was filled with coconut and was dry and the onion Bargee also dry to the centre as if it had been precooked and sitting about for a couple of hours. Disappointed and annoyed but one positive has come out of this I will never eat or want to bother eating in any of the Seaford Indian Restaurants and rather travel to Eastbourne or Brighton in future where the quality has to be acceptable or they would just go under, how these Seaford Indian restaurants survive is a complete miracle and it’s no wonder at this standard if they will in the future.

Terrible take-away meal all round. Bland to start with, not gone near anything I associate with an Indian meal in terms of spices. When the menu says served with pilau rice they don’t send a portion with everything ordered on the menu and it is not pilau rice, so they short-change you right from the start. (Tried to tell me that pilau rice is healthier when they don’t use turmeric to make it, plus other spices that would give it a distinct flavour). In effect, one load of boiled rice served for two dishes that said they came, each, with pilau rice. The chapatis resembled out of date grainy dry flatbreads from the local supermarket and probably were. An under-cooked round thing purported to be a paratha, (‘What’s wrong with that?’ said the manager when showed the distinctly not cooked, not a paratha piece of rubbery bread). One of the chicken dinners was terribly sweet and the person who had it thought a mistake was made in using the wrong sauce for it as he had gone out of his way to order a meal that was not sweet. There are six local people minimum now who will not eat food from this dreadful restaurant in Seaford.

We were hungry as hadn't had lunch so decided not to head through to Brighton to eat. There are not many places open in Seaford on a Sunday evening so this was a bit of a mistake. The positives - woman who greeted/seated (owner?) was friendly and welcoming. Starters were pleasant- chicken chatt & onion bhaji. Main courses were not good at all unfortunately. Ordered chicken karahi with chilli naan and plain rice, prawn bhuna with keema naan & pilau rice. Both medium curries that had no discernable spice or heat and massively over salted. Chicken was chewy and tough and prawns were rubbery. We left most of the chicken & prawns as not at all convinced these were cooked and concerned about eating in all honesty. The chilli naan ordered was not delivered, instead a plain naan was? No mention of reason for swap. The 2 rices were identical (plain) and overcooked. Again no explanation as to why no pilau. We requested 1 curry without coriander, server returned and said no coriander so wasn't that lucky. Yes for the person who didn't want any but I have never heard of an Indian restaurant that didn't have coriander, especially one just across the road from an open supermarket! We were hungry so ate the naan & some of the sauces and a little rice. The lady then came back out with some coriander she had found. The gesture was appreciated but we had basically finished. It was cheap but the old adage you get what you pay for is very true. £33 + tip is not expensive for a meal out for 2 but was a total waste of money for what we could actually eat. No point complaining, we were hungry so ate what we could and accepted it was our own fault for being lazy and not hopping on train elsewhere when discovered all of the places we had been recommended were in fact closed.

You can say this restaurant is consistent. Consistently poor. I used to go to this restaurant in the 80's and the food was wonderful. Now it's just plain awful. I've given it 3 chances this year to see if my visit was just a one off. Afraid not. To be fair, eating in is better than take out. But only by a small margin. Question: What kind of Indian restaurant doesn't make their own chapattis? Answer: This one. Shocking. I wouldn't mind so much but they are not alone. The overall quality of Indian restaurants in Seaford are generally poor. How anyone can find this acceptable is beyond me. I suppose it's what you are used to. Take my advice, cook your own!

I went to this place for my fiancée’s birthday. The service was terrible, the staff didn’t make us feel welcome at all and worst of all when I tried to order a lassi the server said they are too busy
