Mono Restaurant in Glasgow City

what a fantastic find in glasgow today! amazing vegan menu full of diverse choices, i ordered the tofu fish & chips and garlic bread, my mum ordered the vegan sausage & chips and my sister ordered chicken nuggets - all vegan and irresistibly delicious! 6 chicken nuggets and lots of chips, perfect portion. garlic bread was just the right amount of garlicy and tasted so good. you get a free bottle of tap water which is lovely. the atmosphere is comfy and homey, staff are welcoming and really kind. the record shop inside the cafe is cute and had a wonderful selection of dvds, cds, cassettes and vinyls. the cafe is clean, tidy and beautifully decorated with plants and artwork galore. there are 2 fab vintage clothing shops outside of the cafe too which have really great clothing up for sale, so theres something to do after/before the cafe! i (as well as my mum & sister) really really enjoyed our lunch today, can’t recommend this place enough if you like yummy vegan & gluten free food!

Regrettably I haven't yet sampled their food nor attended a gig here but the vinyl selection is excellent and certainly not run of the mill, you're certain to find a gem to take home and spin.

Had a delicious lunch here today and would thoroughly recommend to anyone who likes plant-based food, a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I will defo be back then I visit Glasgow again.

If you're vegan in Glasgow you've been here at least once. Never had a bad meal and prices are fair.

Service war a bit slow but it was quite busy so understandable. The seitan burger was great but the mac n' cheese was not seasoned great. Vegan cheese can't carry that meal alone bc it doesn't have as much flavor as regular cheese. Anyway can recommend if you're looking for a good vegan place to eat at.

Came in on a family visit without a reservation. Although it was busy we got a seat straight away. Service was quick and all our meals were hot and tasty. All our meals were vegan and perfect , just what we needed. Browsing the vinyl afterwards was a little bonus.

Ultra-friendly staff, great food, also various gluten-free options, nice atmosphere and the Overtone beer on tap is probably one of the best things I've ever drunk! Just a bit cool temperatures, but that's just me (the locals were in t-shirts)

Great vegan food. Reasonable prices and nice staff. Reminded me of when I used to live in the Nederlands on the alternative scene, where I lived in the autonomous zone (DIY punky culture) Thinking for yourself and doing things your own way.

Burger and haggis burger were the best I've had in a while. Large place with ample space, OK vibes and service. Cute record shop inside. Only complaint would be the homemade fries, tasty but not so crispy and quite dense. 9/10 recommend, would come again!

Mono is popular for a reason and it's because it's one of the best vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Glasgow! Staff are always friendly and service is quick.

Delicious mac n cheese but the garlic bread was amazing!!

Made a beeline here for the tofish and chips for lunch and were not disappointed. Love a fully vegan restaurant and inclusive space. Really friendly staff, great venue. There are books to read, art exhibitions on the walls, a record shop and live music in the evening. Food was great (we ordered a pizza to takeaway and stash in the hotel for post gig munchies). The music was fun, although apart from the parents of those playing we were the oldest there (my partner is 35, I'm 46). Was like being at a student night again but way less messy than years before, didn't feel like anyone apart from the parents were drinking. This suited me fine and my partner had a few pints of the local brew. Buy tickets for gigs in advance as a little more on the door (bit annoying we weren't told this as did ask if it was worth buying in advance). And needed cash so had to take a short walk to withdraw. Dazed & Confused were the absolute highlight of the night, would definitely see them again Will hopefully be back to sample more of the menu as making another trip to Glasgow in a few weeks

Have not been here for a long time so decided to swing by for a quick snack and pint, good vegan options and reasonable selection of beverages, although they were out of couple of items from the menu but not a big deal. Staff seemed that they could not be bothered at all (well, one of those Sundays) so instead of checking on us after solid long wait we have resorted to pay at the bar and off we were. I wish I could give 4 stars but attentive staff is bread and butter of every good pub/bar/restaurant and that is exactly what is lagging behind at Mono.

La nourriture était très bonne et copieuse pour un prix très raisonnable. C'est super d'avoir un restaurant entièrement vegan ! Malheureusement il n'y avait pas de musique ce soir-là... A tester à nouveau avec plus d'ambiance.

Dreadful dreadful dreadful.I ordered 2 starters soup and cauliflower and a main,a pizza. ALL were delivered at the same time.After eating the soup the cauliflower and pizza were cold.When I asked staff if it could be heated up the manager asked why this problem occurred I answered it was due to the fact that staff delivered starter and mains at the same time.He said the chef couldn't heat the food as the cauliflower had peanuts in it and the pizza had been cut.He offered a box to take the food home.Disgusting service.I paid £22 for a plate of soup and cold pizza and cauliflower. All because staff failed to be aware that it is not usual to have starters present at the same time as the main.I have never experienced such unprofessional service .Ps cauliflower was undercooked and the knives provided couldn't cut through it can't belive I struggled through cutting it to eat a small piece of bland ugh.

The food and service were great and the building is really beautiful.

Can’t comment on the quality of the food as they didn’t bother to serve us any. Top tip to the staff here: don’t go into hospitality if you’re not prepared to be hospitable to guests.

Finally, a delicious vegan mac and cheese!! Will definitely be back for more! Great service from the staff too.

Incredible vibe, super friendly service and my god the food! I can't wait to visit again next time I'm down their way! The record shop within is also a huge bonus, difficult to keep your money when they have such well priced vinyls.

First time visiting mono on Saturday night for Phillip Seth Campbell gig. It was a cracking venue with good range of drinks. Accessibility was good with street level entry and a ramp up to a low balcony with seats arranged facing the stage.

Unbelievably rude pretentious staff…they literally ignore u and walk past u at the bar. Avoid. Glasgow is a friendly city but this ain’t it !

Super nice place to sit and eat something nice with a cold beer and relax, the atmosphere was perfect, there’s a record shop inside and a small gallery ☺️

Order taken at 12.15 and my food (just one burger) arrived just before 1. There was one server for inside and outside although a bar server did step in every now and then. I wasn't offered condiments and couldn't catch the server's attention to ask so I ended up with a fairly dry burger and chips for a whopping £15.50. The server was very nice but clearly didn't have time to ask if my food was ok. It was a sunny day so perhaps there were more diners than they anticipated or maybe they were short staffed. I don't know but managing my expectations from the start might have stopped me being so disappointed.

Food was tasty and great choices. Nice venue and friendly staff. Will come back although I'd prefer a womens only toilet.

Food was great but the staff we dealt with us made us feel like we were nothing more than an inconvenience which really let the whole experience down. Would have stayed to try some dessert but nothing was offered. Other tables around us were left sitting waiting for anyone to come and take an order or clear their empty plates. No check backs to offer more drinks or anything. Just really unfriendly staff who seemed like they would rather be anywhere else than on shift and are in desperate need of either new careers or some basic training on how to interact with other human beings. Really disappointing.

Excellent in every respect except the noise level when fairly full. I could not hear what was being said by my friend sitting opposite! Not very relaxing unfortunately. I do feel something could be done to minimise this.

Looks no frills but the prices certainly aren’t. £6.50 for a single can of beer is daylight robbery.

Was here a few days ago with my partner. First impressions were excellent; inside atmosphere is lovely. Feels nice and airy without feeling cold. The menu offers a good range of options and ordering at the bar is a refreshing change. I had the macaroni cheese and my partner had the seitan burger and we shared a side of garlic bread. Now I should preface that we've never dined vegan before this, at least not intentionally anyway, but seriously, this was incredible. The food both looked and tasted great and was very filling. Particularly recommend their chips which come with some of their dishes: crispy, skin-on greatness! Overall this was a fantastic experience and we will 100% be back! (Oh and also, as someone who is non-cisgender, the gender neutral bathrooms are VERY MUCH APPRECIATED <3)

Great food great record shop An excellent small live music venue too

Been to mono a lot of times over the years since about 2015, the food used to be fantastic, not so much now, cauliflower starter was bland even with the sauce, undercooked also, very hard to cut & could still taste some sort of flower used in the preparation of the dish, no check-back on the table to see if everything was okay, waited 10 minutes after our started for someone to clear the plates, was going to give a main a go to see if it saved the day but ended up giving up & just walked over & paid for the starter. It’s a shame, this place was once hailed as the best vegan joint in Glasgow, more of a shadow of its former self these days living off the strength of its better days.

Couldn't recommend more...delicious vegan food.

Only gave five stars because I've not tried the whole menu. Found out I'm not a fan of deep fried pizza but that's on me, not them. Everything else was great

I've been to Mono quite a few times and when I returned to Glasgow again earlier this year, I thought I would see if the food was as good as it used to be. It was, well, it may have actually been even better. The menu is fully vegan, but I've brought non-vegan friends along before and there was always something for everyone. We recently ordered the macaroni cheese and the tofish and chips and both of them were really delicious. The tofu fish was nicely cooked and the batter was lovely and crispy. It didn't taste really fishy, which I was happy about. The macaroni cheese was just a huge plate of cheesy carb heaven with some lovely chips to go with it. The portions were really generous, so I felt that the meals were really good value for money. Mono will always be top of my list when returning to Glasgow.

Un bar restaurante muy peculiar para lo que estoy acostumbrado a ver. El local es muy espacioso, incluso tiene una tienda de vinilos de musica. Es 100% vegan y pruebes lo que pruebes esta riquisimo. La atencion es muy buena y el precio para la calidad es bueno. Tambien tiene variedad de cervezas

Das Essen war prima, die glutenfreien Optionen waren super lecker! Die frittiere Panade einfach nur toll!!! Die Bedieung war sehr nett, es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Comida rica, saludable y vegana. El local es muy agradable y bonito. Pedimos el curro, filete de seitan y coliwings de entrante. El entrante se me hizo algo pequeño para el precio, los platos principales muy generosos.

Came in for a date with myself and brought a book to stay a while, staff were lovely, pleased the menu was fully vegan I ordered the salmon cream cheese bagel. Was so delicious I couldn’t believe it. It’s not for the faint hearted the flavour was really powerful. The bagel itself might have been homemade? Really soft and lovely. I followed it up with a hot chocolate that was also top notch. Would recommend.

Nice place with good food. The service was good but both our cocktails (one was with iron bro the other was a espresso martini) were not ice cold as you would expect.

A very good choice of food, all Vegan so no need to interagate the waiter. The beer is excellent too. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for service is the second course was a bit slow in coming. My wife has been before and she said last time it was far more busy and the service was faster. The waiter was a very friendly chap and did appogise for the wait. Would I go again? Absolutely.

Het eten was prima, alleen jammer dat alles, inclusief het knoflookbrood, tegelijk kwam. Desondanks, was het eten zelf lekker! Ik had gelezen dat er live muziek was, maar dat wss helaas niet zo toen wij er waren.

I dined there on Sunday on a trip to Glasgow. Food was absolutely delicious. I was the only vegan in a group of 4 but all the meat eaters were very impressed too. There was a nice atmosphere. Staff were friendly and professional. My only issue with the place, is that it's not in Kent. Would definitely go there again

Rein veganes Restaurant. Auswahl ist okay, das Essen war lecker, die Vorspeisen üppig. Blöd war, dass uns nach 20 Minuten Wartezeit mitgeteilt wurde, dass das bestellte Essen nicht mehr vorrätig ist. Hätte auch früher auffallen können. Die Bedienungen waren teilweise etwas lustlos. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist okay.

Went to a Kimya Dawson gig. It was incredibly hot, but the super efficient bar staff kep us cool with lovely ice cold pints.

Great coffee, beer selection. Had some banging sides. Absolutely love mono. Feed and service is always top notch. Highly rate

After seeing so many good reviews, we went here for my husband's birthday. Unfortunately, it didn't go well. The jerk jackfruit tacos were so sour, as if I was eating it out of a can. The pizza was raw so we had to ask them to cook it a little longer. The schnitzel was so bland. The food is definitely overpriced. People are nice but the service is so slow. Worst of all, within an hour of eating, I had an upset stomach and had to rush to the loo! Never going again. Still surprised it has such a high rating.

A great place! Really nice food and such kind staff. Every time i come here it goes up in my estimation! The food is always amazing, without exception. I think it might be my favourite place to eat in the whole of the UK! Some good beers too.
