Excellent. An addiction. Highly recommended from an authentic Italian. Very close to the town centre. Every time we come back they welcome us like old friends. The service is excellent. They make us feel very welcome. Ms Italia is very kind by welcoming all my requests and makes me feel at ease every time. It's like going back to Italy and feel the warm atmosphere. Reasonable prices and portions.

I don't think I have ever had such a delicious linguine allo scoglio like this. When the chef came to greet his customers, he told me that delicious sauce was based with brandy. Squids were so tender and perfectly cooked. It's the place I go to in the UK for seafood pasta. I highly recommend to try the white version of it, you will taste better the delicious brandy sauce. Great selection of wines.

Very cozy. Very good selection of meals. Great position, excellent quality, excellent service. The staff speaks both English and Italian. We definitely recommend it.

We didn’t want to eat the usual that’s on offer close to the airport and so we found Mona Lisa - fantastic traditional Italian restaurant. Fantastic service, good value - would love it to be closer to home for us. Recommendations for places to go in Italy- named me what to fly from Luton more often!- normally we fly from Stansted or Gatwick but the whole experience has made us reconsider. Do give Mona Lisa a try

Again an unforgettable experience. We had a very pleasant night with such a great service with Italia's care. We particularly loved the chicken breast with lime sauce (my boyfriend's choice) and the seafood linguine were delicious, a big portion and for such a reasonable price! My picky boyfriend really enjoyed Tiramisù, his favourite dessert. Since it is very close to Luton station, we have now the habit to stop there every time we come from the airport before heading back to London. We always try to book our return flights when this restaurant is open. We definitely recommend to try it. OMG Monna Lisa Restaurant, thank you for existing!!!

Sweet Sicilian couple, with a heart for Italian food. What a pleasure to eat here. Everything homemade, risotto never tasted so good, even in Sicily, Dessert. Have either the tiramisu or profiteroles

It was a rainy cold day and the food and service kept our hearts and tummy warm. It felt like I was eating at home. Food was delicious and we will definitely visit again if we come to visit. The Monna Lisa art on the wall made us smile :) and so did the owners.

My husband and I have been coming here for many years! But tonight for the first time our little boys came along! They didn't give their food a 10/10.. they gave it 100/100!! Its always a pleasure eating here! A real treat and the food is always delicious and we are always well looked after! Thank you!

This was our first visit to Monna Lisa: but it will not be our last. A very enjoyable evening with delicious food and friendly service from Nicola and Diane. The wine list is also reasonably priced A slight delay getting drinks at the start of evening was resolved speedily. Thereafter service continued at a pace we were happy with. As it was Valentines day we were offered a choice of courses from a set menu, plenty of choice for everyone.The restaurant is very close to public transport links in Luton town centre.We will certainly return to enjoy some other dishes from the comprehensive menu.

Another fantastic evening of excellent food and friendly atmosphere. We have been going to the Mona Lisa for many years and it is like being part of the family . My husband and I have been coming here for 10 years, so about time I put a review on here. It is not only my favourite Italian restaurant, but my favourite restaurant. We have never had a bad meal here.We have brought family and friends here and they have been impressed too. Leo is an excellent chef and his seafood is spot on. Excellent hosts!

We struck so lucky! Given the choice of a hotel chain limited menu at our place of hotel residence we took a chance and got a small table early doors at this little gem.Easy to find but tucked away we enjoyed authentic delicious Italian food with wonderful service.Truly a treat

A real "authentic" Italian restaurant in Luton. Although I don't live in Luton anymore, I decided to come back and found out this place is still keeping its high standards of quality even after Covid and Brexit. Food is very fresh and delicious. The seafood pasta is prepared with fresh fish and is my favourite meal as usual. This time we also had the chance to try some starters like ribs, so perfectly cooked, some fried squid, incredibly soft and evidently fresh. My friends enjoyed an amazing seafood risotto and a lasagna. The Italian wine selection is also interesting. Every time we miss our Italian home, my friends and I feel like can come here and experience the same excellence we have in Italy and for reasonable prices. The staff is very kind and proactive. I recommend not to hesitate to ask for any special customized request.The place is small and cosy and extremely clean.Last time I went, it was on Saturday and it was fully booked. So I recommend to book in advance if you are planning to go.For me it's "The Place" to go in the UK.

We decided to go back to the monna lisa for some great food. An once again the food was fantastic and the staff are really friendly lovely place to go. I recommend going to this restaurant.

Classic Italian, cooked to perfection. We had the steak, served with a beautiful marbled sauce and seasonal vegetables. The peas were cooked in a special, light sauce that was to die for. Every element has so much care and love put into it. This place is the real deal ❤️

First dinner out since Covid forced us to isolate 18 months ago, and an excellent choice of venue. The place hasn't changed much in decor or warmth of welcome. The food is still simple and scrumptious, clean plates all round. La patronne even persuaded me to try her special peas (normally a nono) and they all went down quickly, complementing the rather rich sauce very well. So we have learnt 2 things, one is that we must go back to this abnormally good ( for our area) much more often, and that I can enjoy peas, which are not vegetables! well done to all staff for making our return to normality so special.

2 nd visit and didn’t disappoint. Old fashioned traditional Italian, no frills just delicious freshly cooked (steaming hot) Italian classics served up with love and some nice wine

booked by phone on the 13th august for the 28th august. Got no confirmation so e mailed twice over next few days finally rang again on the 25th only to be told fully booked they need to buck their ideas up

My wife and I like to travel to try new restaurants and the Monna Lisa was over an hour’s drive to get to. Unfortunately it is not situated in the most salubrious part of Luton and parking is difficult and the interior décor harps back to the 70’s with its artexed ceilings and walls and false timber beams. However, they must save their money for the fresh ingredients and decent wine.We were met by two very nice ladies who showed us to a table, and we were give the menu, note – the menu is huge, and it is recommended that you look at it on their website first to get a rough idea as to what you are likely to order before arriving. I had the arrabiata chicken, (see photo), and my wife the trout – both cooked exactly as we liked. I ordered peas and I was informed they were cooked Italian style, with onions and in a tomato sauce, something I have not had before. And although they looked a bit weird, see photo, they were actually, very tasty.We booked relatively early, (7 pm), and by 8 pm they were full – so pre book.The main surprise was when we received the bill. For a 3-course meal, a bottle of wine and two beers, it came to £82.00 – very good value.If I have one complaint – I tried to book the table via their web site that promised to reply, by phone within 24 hours – a week late they hadn’t, so I called direct. The first time the person I spoke to could not hear me, the second time they kept breaking up, and the third time I got the booking – so some work needed in that area.But over all an excellent meal and we will definitely be back. My family have been going to Mona Lisa for many years and our two children have grown up with many visits and beautiful nights in the company of Leonardo and Nicola.The food is freshly cooked and they cater for everyone and will adapt the menu to suit you.When you walk into the Mona Lisa you become part of the family and you know you are going to have a fantastic night.We have recommended to friends and anyone that is looking for a good Italian restaurant many times and still do, you will not find a better place to eat, relax and have a enjoyable evening.Sonia

I have come a few times here, today i came with my italian friend and we both asked for tagliatelle with seafood. Absolutely amazing, their products are obsviosly fresh, perfectly cooked, huge rations, make sure you are hungry when you come, wine is amazing and staff is warm and nice. First meal here post Lockdown. Firstly all the necessary precautions were in place which made us feel safe and comfortable. This establishment has been a firm favourite of mine and numerous friends that I have introduced it to for years. So pleased to say that the food, service and overall welcoming atmosphere is still at 5 for everything. well done Monna Lisa looking forward to my next wonderful meal.

Great cuisine, nice atmosphere, very fresh ingredients. I ate mussels and they were incredible! Owners are Italians and you can feel it. It's also amazing place for romantic date 😊 Definitely I will come back soon!!!

As an Italian, I was very surprised to find such a cosy atmosphere and great food for such a good price in UK.Finally an Italian place which is really run by Italian people who know well what to cook. This was the 3rd time I have been there. The selection is really interesting and they always serve fresh food. This is definitely the place in Luton where to eat fresh seafood We started with an amazing cheese garlic bread and some lobster and soup.My boyfriend had the chance to enjoy a very nice risotto alla marinara and my pasta with vongole was delicious.Last time we had the chance to try their delicious pasta alla carbonara and bolognese plus the Amazing chargrilled Lamb chops. They have told us they can do some specific meals if requested in advance. Depending on the availability of the meals, sometimes they have some special dishes not displayed on the menu. My high recommendation is to ask if they have something special. You won't regret it. Wine selection is nice. They also serve a wide selection of cocktails. Grazie mille. Torneremo sicuramente.

My boyfriend and I came to this amazing Italian restaurant on Friday night. The food was out of this world!! We both had calamari for starters and it was cooked perfectly just how it should be. I had a beautiful past dish for main and my boyfriend had chicken. He’s never tasted chicken like it before. It was very succulent. Pudding we had the tiramisu we didn’t get to finish it all as we were very full but that was also brilliant. This restaurant honestly the best Italian. Staff are so welcoming and food is just so fresh tasty. We will most definitely be making a return to the great Mona Lisa❤️

Staying at Luton prior to a trip to the real thing Milan I thought we would try this Italian to get in the mood..On arrival they were very COVID safe, very friendly and fortunately we had booked as full.. unfortunately it was very hot in the restaurant as told the AC wasn’t allowed to be on. We could see they had there regular customers as they were wanting the sears nearer the window. My husband and I have been coming to Monna Lisa for long time now and each time we come away Tummies full of delicious food. The service is fantastic and friendly. The food is utterly delicious. The chef always comes to say hello too! Our fave is calamari and penne all pollo with extra chilli! As soon as lockdown eased this is the first restaurant we wanted to dine in. As an anxious person I felt very at ease with the guidelines and steps in place. Thank you for never disappointing. See you very very soon.

We always come to Monna's when out in Luton. You can expect excellent and friendly service from the staff. The food is always top notch and if you want to add a little extra or ask for an ingredient not to be included in your dish then it's no trouble at all. The restaurant is small and family run, you won't find this quality in any of the chain restaurants. If you love Italian food and an authentic night out then definitely pay Monna Lisa's a visit !Post lockdown...as always we were welcomed like old friends. Our food was exceptional. All Covid 19 precautions are in place.

My fiancée and I went to the Minna Lisa to celebrate our anniversary and we were not disappointed. This is the best Italian restaurant in the area and the food was all excellent, atmosphere perfect and personnel super friendly.All social Distancing measures are in place, tables are far from each other, waitresses are wearing masks and they sanitise everything as soon as someone leaves their table. Definitely recommend for a dinner date!!

Lovely little gem tucked away in Luton. We found this whilst looking for dinner before our flight and was surprised by the authentic vibe. It was like mummas home cooking, the service was great and would highly recommend for anyone in the area.

I came with my husband on Valentine’s Day we had both paid £35 Each that included vegetarian options for a 3 course meal including sweets and coffee. The restaurant was well decorated with balloons chocolates and roses on the table the waiter was well mannered and polite. As my husband is vegetarian he got a choice of 5 options he chose Crespoline sicilane which was pancakes stuffed with spinach and ricotta cheese severed in a tomato and bechamel sauce, it looked and smelt delicious my husband said he loved it. For my desert I had a chocolate orange bombe it was absolutely Devine it was orange ice cream covered in chocolate with a creamy chocolatey sauce middle. It was the best ever I will totally be coming again and letting my family and friends know about it.

Celebrated my mum & dads golden wedding anniversary, food was lovely & staff very friendly, would definitely recommend & will be returning.

I came here with my mum last week she had penne e pollo and I had a steak Dianna with mushrooms and brandy sauce it was DELICIOUS and I can’t wait to come here next Friday to bring my girlfriend for an amazing meal on Valentine’s Day. There service was also great Italia was extremely polite and had a great personality I can’t wait to come next week!

Monna Lisa in Guildford Street is a place to go for excellent Italian food where you’re made to feel at home!! Superb service and the restaurant has a warm and friendly atmosphere, this place is an absolute asset to Luton, and also the mediterraneo prawns and the aglio e olio spaghetti (off the menu) are to die for!!

Where you get true Italian cooking, with fantastic and friendly service especially by Italia! I would consider myself a regular and they are always amazingly accommodating in cooking something off menu which is a sign of a good chef! I definitely consider this the best restaurant in Luton!!! It is also really conveniently located by Luton Station.

we were a party of 26 .The usual very high standards were maintained despite serving such a large group at the same time.The various food selections were all cooked and presented to perfection and the service was great,relaxed and very helpful

We had family meal again in the best restaurant, I loved my favourite dish penne pollo with extra chilli ♥️ and my kids said the best chicken ever. I really recommend it, if you want original tasty Italian food. See you again in the weekend.

Today my husband and me was looking for a place to have a dinner, and we had the opportunity to know Monna Lisa, the food was Amazing, completely perfect, and the Lady was lovely and really really friendly, she try speak Italian with us and this make a funny moment because we are Brazilian with Italian family, and still learning English so was a great moment!

We ended up in Luton this eve thanks to a cancelled & rescheduled flight but a pretty bad day was turned around by a lovely dinner. The staff were lovely & welcoming, the wines great but most importantly the food superb. Tasty, imaginative & most importantly really fresh like it had been cooked at home. I’d definitely recommend & thanks for a lovely evening

The reviews of Monna Lisa were spot on! Even on a very busy night, the staff accommodated my business associate and I for a table for two, and we were treated to a delicious meal! Our waitress Italia highly recommended the calves liver which I had never had before, but always wanted to try. I was not disappointed, and did love it with the Brandy sauce. My friend ordered the flattened, stuffed and fried chicken which was excellent as well!

Called in to ask if coming at 9.30 was too late , she got the chef to stay till we arrived to cook our food. Amazing customer service . Lovely & welcoming staff , amazing food , new favourite Italian place in Luton.

Honestly there isn’t many places in Luton where you can suggest an Italian restaurant however this place is perfect. Amazing service and food. If you want to feel like you’re in Italy then please go here especially if you like lemon chello! Fresh cooked meals and amazing service. My Girlfriend is Vegan and I took Her for Her first time. They freshly cooked her a vegan lasagna from scratch! She loved it and they’re the most friendliest place in Luton! Worth giving a visit!

We had our wedding dinner here, and it was perfect! The food and wine was excellent, the atmosphere was romantic and cozy, and the staff were absolutely wonderful! They went out of their way to make sure that all of our guests were very happy, and everyone raved about this great little restaurant. I came to the Monnalisa once again with some friends and we all enjoyed the food service. I would recommend this restaurant.

Had been to Monna Lisa a long time ago and completely forgotten about how good the food is, when a friend invited a group of us for dinner and I was reminded of how delicious the cuisine is. Best food I have had in a long time. Among the best dishes were the onion rings, clam pasta, and shrimp salad. The restaurant was pretty loud when we were there, more for friends than romantic in my opinion.

What an excellent evening spent with my friends at this amazing Italian restaurant !!! The food is authentic Italian quality unlike many restaurants that say they are Italian. I had delicious calamari for starters and main was the liver speciality which was truly delicious. I had noticed a previous review saying the liver was awful, I have no idea which restaurant they went to, but I can say they understand nothing about good quality food . We will be back to the Monna Lisa very soon, good food, friendly staff
