Went to moes on Wednesday the 7th of March to avoid mother's day rush...what a disappointment!!! The sauce was obviously watered down to make it go further and utterly flavourless! The food was cold and unacceptable. The service abysmal, and between the burping waitress or the one who couldn't wait to get home I don't know which was worse!! I wouldn't reccomend this cold scruffy place to anyone!! Also getting charged for sides WHICH WERE INCLUDED as stated on the menu!!! I could go on and on....

From start to finsh everything was 1st class can't wait to go back again, generous size portions of everything

Overall the place is nice. Kept clean along with well prepared food. Great for groups and familys. Price is good and portions are plentiful.

Called in for lunch, ordered baked potato and chicken with garnish... very poor indeed....Baked potato tasted microwaved. Cooked diced chicken also tasted as if it had been frozen and microwaved... was warm... my husband did not want me to make a fuss at the table although I did mention it to the waitress on the way out.... no quality check at the table... only 5 customers in the place... of this is the standard no wonderWill definitely not be back ever !!!!

Return visit to Moe's Grill this time for breakfast on route to airport. Restaurant was very quiet in fact we may have been the only patrons in it at the time of our visit.Breakfast menu choices okay, portions on the small size compared to other establishments and compared also to other meals that we have had in this restaurant. Food prepared and presented well on plates.. Breakfast pricing - on the high side for what you get especially when adding bacon at ninety (90) pence a slice to an order of pancakes and maple syrup !!Service, was very good I have to say from a young gentleman who was the only person on the floor during our visit. He engaged well in conversation with us.Overall, I don't think we will be calling again for breakfast.

Myself and my boyfriend wouldn't be the type to complain but I'm actually sick to my stomach thinking about the food we ate. Decided to try this place as had heard a few friends were going to try it.When walking in the girl at the front till was not the friendliest, asked "have you booked" when we said no she threw us a dirty look and told us to "take a seat " as she was sorting out other families first. Fair enough but there wasn't anywhere to sit so we just stood waiting to be taken. Obviously she was raging we were walk ins. We were taken pretty quickly and escorted to a table, noticed the floor was filthy and sticky bits of rubbish on the ground. I ordered the nachos which were big standard just chips with a bit of melted cheese no salsa jalapeño or presentation whatsoever. Definitely not worth £5. Boyfriend asked for steak medium came out as bloody as hell he was turned so he didn't even eat it. I myself got the honey chilli chicken. It was like a bowl of goup. Runny and soup like. The chicken just tasted like processed rubbish ate about 2 bites and nearly threw up. For a bit of presentation they threw a couple of salad leaves on the side. Can't even say I enjoyed the chilli and garlic chips. They were absolutely swimming in Garlic butter,I couldn't even eat them they were that oily. Table service was brutal. Had to wave them down to ask for another drink, they weren't attentive whatsoever. After the meal I actually went home and threw up I felt that sick even tho I only picked at my food. All in all would never go back or advise anyone to go here. Place is a complete dive as we said we've never sent food back or asked for a refund but I was more disappointed with the customer service and the food was disgusting. Would not advise to anyone.

Previously I'd reviewed it at 2 stars but over the past couple of years I've been invited along on a couple of occasions and things are much improved. Burgers are first class and everyone I've been with has left satisfied.... and its not an icebox anymore either!

Had a great lunch here with family on a day out staff were helpful and food was good great parking and easy to access

My first visit to Moes in Magherafelt, I normally go to Moes Junction One and enjoy it, Magherafelt was very disappointing, no atmosphere, the interior felt tired, there is 1 disabled toilet for the restaurant that I could see and it wasn't clean, the menu was good, prices are good, staff were friendly, but wouldn't go back

Always busy which I think is a good sign. the food is always lovely and there is plenty of choice on the menu!

Staff were amazing especially Catherine who was smiling and attentive. The food was great. Great portion sizes and the desserts were to die for. Great value and would recommend

We ate here recently and were very disappointed. It was the worst I have seen. What I ate was straight out a package and my wife had steak which was the was like an old shoe. It was not great to start with but was grossly over cooked even though she asked for it well done. I think we were well done paying that price for what can only be described as woeful. Never ever go here to eat. There is a KFC or something beside this place, go there. You get what you pay for there.

Stopped here while on a bus run we all had a great meal, great service and very generous portions, always threatened to top here for a meal when traveling home from Belfast, we will be back again.

Great place to meet and eat. Staff efficient and very friendly always smiling. Food is excellent and well presented. My husband and I go there every Saturday for breakfast and we as a family like to have our birthday and anniversary celebration meals there

We met here for lunch as a family as a half way point. It's handy to get to and good parking. Our meals were served quite quickly and the portions were big. All our meals were really tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend Moe's Grill

Fabulous place. Met a dear friend here for lunch. What a wonderful find. I have spotted the place off the Castledawson Roundabout when driving to Belfast but wouldn't have thought to visit! We were welcomed by lovely attentive staff who ensured we were comfortable, well fed and happy. The portion sizes would have fed four of us instead of two. Prices were good and I would definitely recommend this place for a family get together or as a stop off travelling from/to Belfast.Good vegetarian options and I would recommend the delicious vegetarian lasagne.

We came in here on our way down to our holiday last week, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The downsides happened to be the food. The garlic bread was stone cold and literally inedible, the fry's happened to be tough. Toilets not impressive either.

Went here for lunch before flying home. The service was very good with a very friendly waitress. The food was not really for me.

Moes dinner does the best Sweet Chilli Chicken you will ever taste, their steaks are are tender and potions large for your hungry guys.

First class food and service, enjoyable family time, lovely clean and comfortable restaurant, suitable for all but small children really treated well.

We arrived down at 12.30 there was 14 of us 12 of whome are vulnerable adults. Although what we had was basic it was nonetheless well prepared I can't brilliant value for money. I had one of the best ulster fry's I've had in a very long time the chef was very friendly as was the staff. We will be back.

Return visit to Moe's on route home, restaurant was busy but my wife and I were quickly shown to a table. Drinks and food order promptly taken, burger dish ordered was fine but chicken dish was overcooked - disappointing ! On top of that a glass of red wine ordered failed to arrive during the meal, had to reminded waitress - oops !Not to the usual Moe's standards.

Had very bad food and would be very hesitant to go back. The ranch salad was the worst I ever experienced and the fish and chips was the greasiest we ever experienced. Altogether a very poor effort in my opinion. Waste of money and no refund or reduction was offered.

Use Moes as a venue for business lunches. Wide and varied menu which offers goid lunch deals and the booths offer privacy to talk. Service is usually prompt and helpful. Lots of parking makes Moes a quick and easy stop for a meeting with good food thrown in.

We had a meal in Moe's last night. The service was quick and efficient. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was fresh, tasty and piping hot. That's our 2nd visit and will be happy to return in the future.

Love moes, food is always brilliant, never a long wait..... Portions are big worth every penny.... I highly recommend the beef n bird absolutely delious, staff are always friendly.... Only one minor complaint is the lack of toilets.... Atmosphere is also great

Stopped in this evening to have a quick bite to eat on way through Magherafelt. We were greeted immediately by a lovely scottish girl. As i was on crutches she led us to a table nearby and got us our menus. We ordered drinks which came immediately and our dinner was so fast. It arrived roasting hot and absolutely delicious. There was a change over of staff while we were there and there was obvious great teamwork and atmosphere. Everyone greeted each other and said goodbye to each other so cheerfully. The chef gave us a big smile when leaving (normally chefs are known to be grumpy!!) Lol. The lovely scottish waitress was who was also at till when we were leaving. She had a great personality, chatted away to us and made our visit so pleasant. A super feed, reasonable price and lovely staff. Will be back. Well done.

We stopped here for a quick bite, it was around 3.30pm so past lunchtime and too early for dinner however the 2 course deal was so appetising we went for starters and main course for £8.95. Really lovely food and staff couldn't have been nicer or more friendly, toilets were spotless and coffee comes with a lovely chocolate, will definitely call again. Ooohhhh and the coleslaw was amazing ;-)

Food is tasty here but the menu never changes and after a while of eating the same dish, it doesn't give you a 'wow' factor! Service is great but food could definitely be improved.

Good place to go for couples/ groups, food covers a wide range of cuisines and preferences. One thing is make sure you're hungry, the portions can sometimes be too much!!There is plenty of room so while booking is advisable for busy times, they can usualky cater for walk-ins. Price range is reasonable and as mentioned there is a wide array of food available on the menu to suit all taste buds,

Having eaten here several times have always found the food very good with good portions good choice, the service is always very quick and recommend visit.

The food was brought out quickly starte or mixed platter was delicious soup was delicious and breaded mushroom , main course however wasn't the best , lasagnes was over cooked and rubbery on top , steak was small and chicken was rubbery , breaded scam I was rock hard , the chips tasted frost bitten and were really pale and not the best I've ever taste we left them fish dish was great , it was a tad expensive too , big portion but not cooked great to be honest , we were excited to try it , left feeling sick and disappointed

We arrived late and were lucky to have found this restaurant open. It was a large restaurant with plenty of seating. The meals were basic home fare but were large portions.

Well decorated, good car park and spacious premises. Portions large. Menu suits all ages and something for everyone.

was here for a christening they held a buffet which was a great idea with different dishes. food was delicious. it's great upstairs with the space. would highly recommend this place

My wife and I went yesterday evening just to relax at the end of a busy week. The food is just delicious. My wife had chicken bake and I had sizzling chicken in a Peking sauce. Top quality meals. Congratulations to the chef for providing such a high standard. Portions were extremely generous and we were glad we hadn't taken a starter. Desserts looked tempting but neither of us could sample them as we were totally sated after our mains. Staff are friendly and attentive and well trained. An asset to the establishment. This was our second visit and we will certainly return. We would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a top class meal at a very reasonable price. Well done Moe's Grill. Finally a question for the management. Any plans of opening a restaurant in Cookstown? Please? Please!!!

Ate here with my family last year and unfortunately I had food poisoning a few hours after eating! Have lunched and dined here before with no problems and the staff and service has always been excellent but after my last episode I'm sad to say I'll not be returning, decor in some seating areas is getting a bit grubby and needs an update

2 friends and I visited on a Monday night for food, there was a few tables in and a good atmosphere. We were served drinks and later food promptly, however, when we finished our food we waited for our table to be cleared, as a waitress had passed our table 3 times and didn't seem to be doing anything but still didn't clear our table. We weren't offered dessert menus and hadn't been checked on during our meal either. It was a shame as I would have rated this restaurant 5 stars only for this, especially when staff weren't busy. Would go back for the food though which was nice.

If it's a burger and chip your after this is the right place very tasty and filling, my kids love this place will defo be back soon

I've eaten here twice in the last couple of months and both occasions were equally good.There is a large car park right beside the building and there is no problem parking free for as long as needed.Outside appearance didn't promise much, rather ordinary and modern. But we were surprised how attractive the nicely laid out interior was, once we had entered.On both occasions the restaurant was around half full, enabling an immediate and free selection of places to sit and all aspects of service were both friendly and fast. The furnishings are comfortable and well spaced, the menu is quite varied and the prices are very good value. Our waitresses were clearly familiar with the menu and able to answer any question very willingly and helpfully. Everyone's food was very satisfactory and the portions were ample.There is nothing extraordinarily special about Moes Grill, but we found absolutely nothing to complain about, not one little thing and everyone was very happy with both lunches

Myself and a few friends called here the other day without a booking, the girl at the desk was quite sharp with us and asked us to take a seat on the waiting chairs until they prepared a table, a short time later a small girl who appeared to be pregnant greeted us and brought us to the table, she was a lovely mannered girl and soon ordered us drinks and took our orders. When the food came out the same waitress accompanied by another girl brought our food to us and couldn't seem to do enough for us be it extra sauce orders or drinks and napkins she accommodated us very well. The food was excellent I highly recommend my dish honey chilli chicken. As I looked around the restaurant it appeared very busy but not all staff were pulling their weight compared to others, our waitress although pregnant was bending over backwards for tables I also noticed a young male waiter doing the same both very charming but when I got up to use the bathrooms I noticed groups of staff hanging around just talking and not helping out. When I was leaving to pay the bill it was a blonde haired waiteress that greated me at the till she was pleasant and offered us a voucher to come back, I asked to tip our waiteress for the excellent service but was told it has to go to a tip box which I wasn't too happy about as I didn't think everyone had deserved it. All in all I had a lovely experience with great service and great food although I would advise the management to have words with the few members that done very little.

This is a deluxe diner serving good hearty food and large portions, well presented, freshly cooked and great variety. Very popular and deservedly so. In its class I give it a well-earned five star rating.

Pretty straightforward menu, and nice food. Havent had a bad feed yet. It's a very accessible place at Castledawson roundabout with a good carpark. Always easy to get a space. Not the most fanciest of interiors and prices aren't extortionate. Food is usually quick arriving. Also seating isn't in the open like Antrim's moes grill so its possible to have some privacy with friends/family.Only negative is SOME of the staff arent too friendly, but the majority of the time they're fine. Importantly though, they're effective, just like the chefs!

Stopped here recently on my way home from Belfast. Unfortunately first impressions were not great. Server was not at all friendly and before we had even sat down was in such a rush to take a drinks order (this was 4.10pm in the afternoon). We did consider leaving and going somewhere else but as we were really hungry decided we would stay. She came back to take our order and again her attitude left a lot to be desired as we had asked a couple of questions about the meals on offer. Thankfully when our food arrived it was excellent and loads of it. Another server who came to clear the table and offer the sweet menu was lovely and very friendly. Have eaten in the Antrim restaurant quite a few times and always found the staff friendly. Maybe this person was having a bad day! Would recommend for quality and quantity of food.

Been here easily once every few months for a few years now!! The food is always amazing, portions are mental but I always end up taking some home - bonus! The waitresses are lovely but once you're seated it's very hard to get their attention again. But since we've been coming back it obviously hasn't bothered us, the food makes up for it!! Everybody should try it at least once!

I met my husband here for tea and opted for the 2 courses for £10.95. Although my husband enjoyed his soup and lasagne, I wasn't too impressed with the cod goujons and salad that I opted for. The goujons were very greasy and the salad was below standard in terms of range of items and presentation. I had apple crumble and custard for dessert which was nice. Although the place was very busy for early on a Friday evening it will be a long time before I eat here again.

This is a handy place to get parked, the seating is comfortable and you get the impression its an American diner; Its a Northern Ireland American diner though and the taste is ok but not memorable. The service well, if you were into what everyone was going to wear at the next wedding or schools or what other woman are interested in then you would be fine. If not they struggle to do the basics and they are not alone as many NI restaurants are the same. That said we are a very demanding public and its not easy sometimes. I do it six days a week myself however; at work I love my customers and I get so much back from them. Manager how friendly are you, it travels down.

Arrived without a booking. Although it was very busy we were quickly seated at a table upstairs. It is a fairly large establishment with pleasant modern decor. The environment is very clean.We were quickly served by a number of staff who were all very pleasant and helpful. The food was good and the portions plentyful. It was tea time and you could have as a special promotion a choice of a starter and main meal, or a main meal and a dessert for slightly over £10 per head. The main menu was also available if one wished. Service was quick and attentive. Would call back again.

Here with friends most dishes were ok ,but my sizzling chicken Peking plate was so hot that any sauce evaporated or burnt dry so not the most appetising meal esp when my side was noodles which were cold !! The service was just ok sides were slow some came before the main dish so sat getting cold and to serve 8 people took ages and 1 person had to ask about his main, while everyone else had started theirs before it went cold. Other small tables appeared to have no bother so think kitchen and waitresses just couldn't cope with a table of 8!,

My partner and I stopped in on the way back to Antrim on December 27th for lunch. The place was almost empty but I wouldn't let that put me off - I attended a Christening here and the food then was delicious, so I was looking forward to it. The waitress seemed friendly enough and took our order after a few minutes. My partner ordered stew and I ordered sizzling peppered chicken with garlic potatoes. My partner enjoyed his stew, however I didn't enjoy mine. The garlic cubes were only-just-cooked potatoes with a huge dollop of raw garlic butter resting on top. The peppered sauce with my chicken didn't take of anything, honestly it was like gooey plain chicken. Nobody approached us throughout the meal to check that it was ok and where we were seated I wouldn't have got speaking to anyone without having to get up and wander about to look for someone. After quite a while, a waitress came to clear the plates and asked if everything was ok. As I had only eaten a few bites of mine, I was honest and told her I didn't enjoy it. She told me she would speak to the chef and come back and then disappeared. We waited for about 20 minutes and in the end, walked to the till were a different waitress who was none the wiser gave us our bill. Totally gutted I had to pay £13 for a dish I barely touched and it has put me off coming back.

If you are really hungry and want some quality nosh, then this is the place to have lunch. Two course special for under 8 quid a head and excellent quality as well.There was 4 of us, seated quickly with drinks and food orders taken in good time.1 LARGE bowl of home made soup & roll, 2 chicken & liver pate & 1 chicken wings starters was followed by 1 gammon, 2 home made chicken & ham pies and 1 home made lasagne all with veg and real chips. Couldn't fault anything about the whole experience. We will be back.

We called in last Friday 26th sept and were sat down by a lovely friendly waitress who informed us that the 3kids are free as there was free adults.the place seems to be always busy anytime wev been before and this time was no different.i ordered the fillet steak which was best steak it had in long time my husband had the surf and turf again his steak was perfect and the scampi has got a lovely southern fried taste to it.the kids also enjoyed theirs they love this place as they get the ds console to use which kept them quiet.our service was very good especially when the place was very busy this is always great sign of good restaurant to me.we ate dessert and the chocolate cake and sticky toffee was the perfect way to finish off.we got a £5 off voucher for our next visit so that'll be used sooner rather than later

Called in on a Saturday evening. Hadn't booked and they were extremely busy but got seated quickly to one of the booths. Great atmosphere. I had the breaded chicken and my partner had fish and chips. Portion sizes were big and the food was beautiful! Also tried the chocolate cake for desert and it was defiantly one of the nicest deserts I have had from a restaurant yet. One of the waitresses provided great and quick service and was also very friendly and made us feel welcome after talking to her I found out she was new to the restaurant. Will defiantly be back soon!

We went to Moe’s Grill with some friends recently after a morning sporting event. This was our first time to the establishment and we were impressed by the look of the place and the cleanliness of the toilet. A couple of pleasant girls took our various orders (mostly for variations on their breakfast menu) which arrived after a short wait. My scrambled egg (more than ample) mushrooms, tomato, fried soda and potato bread was to my liking as was the full fry-up that my other half normally gets when out, cos at home she eats very healthily. Our other companions were also happy with their meal. Prices were good value for money. I have read some reviews that were less than complimentary, but can only state what we experienced. We would go back.

We phoned first to check for a table and thankfully we did, when we arrived for our planned time we where seated soon after, the restaurant was extremely busy for a Sunday evening. Despite this our order was taken quite quickly and our drinks and food arrived not too long after considering the place was full of other customers. Our food was lovely and very warm, no lukewarm dishes here. The staff were friendly and polite. We will be returning in the future and the £5 off offer for our next visit was a lovely incentive. Well done Moe's.

I stayed overnight in this area and my hosts recommended this eatery as one of the local restaurants worth going to. The meal was plentiful and the food was fresh and promptly served. The staff are helpful and nothing is too much trouble. It can a little noisy if crowded but, well worth going for the wholesome meal at the end of the day or lunch on the way to your accommodation. This is a good 'value for money' eatery and I would return the next time I am in the area.

We met with some friends in Moesgrill last Thursday. There is a large car park close to the restaurant.We had a lovely evening: the food was good with ample helpings, the wines were good quality (really good Chilean Sauvignon Blanc), the glasses poured were a decent size and the service was efficient and friendly - thank you Natasha.The serving of pate for starters was enough for two, and my delicious Peking chicken had literally loads of chicken in it. We would certainly recommend this restaurant, and would hope to be back again.

Been quite a few times, we always have a fantastic meal and brilliant service!!! Great value for money too, especially on Friday nights when kids eat free.

I visited 'Moes Grill' in Castledawson recently for what was meant to be a 'special' occasion. On entering the restaurant I was instantly disappointed at the shabby interior! This was made worse when we were escorted to a table..... and as I sat down I noticed that the long seat I was given was ripped right across the middle! The foam padding of the seat was visible, sticking out, and uncomfortable to sit on! I was visibly shocked! I commented to my sons that we should leave as it was unbelievable that a restaurant interior had seating similar to the seats you would expect to find in a run-down train station or bus shelter. Not wanting the hassle of driving somewhere else, my sons convinced me to stay! I glanced at the menu and before any of us had any time to decide, we had a waitress beside us, asking for our order. I asked for more time. This was a mistake as we were then ignored for a further thirty minutes!! I tried, in vain, to get the waitresses attention. It felt like we were being punished for not being ready to order earlier. Even a waitress who was brushing the floor next to us (I jest not) was deliberately avoiding making eye contact with us. When we finally managed to place the order - the waitress's attitude was most unhelpful. Finally (after another thirty minutes) the food arrived. The food was okay, to be fair, and there was plenty of it. It is hard to grasp how the restaurant proprietor could turn a blind eye to the shabby appearance of the seating in his/her restaurant. It beggars belief. Also, the staff need to be taken to one side and trained in customer service and attitude. The 'special' occasion turned out to be anything but special.....and for the price we paid we could have enjoyed a meal elsewhere - somewhere much better!

I went here for the first time after hearing really good feedback about the food, I wasn't disappointed the food was gorge! I had honey chilli chicken & rice, the portion sizes were really good and the prices were good value. The staff were pleasant & the waiting time was spot on. I can't wait for a return visit

We visited on st Patricks day. We entered and were seated upstairs. Food orders were taken in good time and food was lovely however we were left sitting with our dirty plates in front of us for 30 mins and I was dying for my dessert! Eventually we were approached and asked by the lady if wanted to see dessert menu and we agreed how ever after another 20 min wait we had no one near us to ask for the order or the bill so had to get up and down to till to pay for meal. It was a slightly older lady with short dark hair who was 'looking after us' and my partner witnessed another couple complaining as waited so long to get their order placed with this lady and she tossed her head up and rolled her eyes as she walked away from them... Not good! When we went to till there was a que of people waiting to enter, sitting on steps etc, but the funny thing was there was a lot of free tables? As we paid some one had come to door and asked another waiter if it was a long wait, she responded, yes it's a right wait, but offered no time frame and wasn't terribly polite about it., staff clearly under pressure and couldn't cope even with half the tables empty. They lost out on further drinks an sweet order from us which can't be good for business. Sort it out moes, nice food but staff need training!!!

Did not book on Saturday so waited for a table. A couple who came after us was shown the table when one was available. Did not want to make a fuss but they should have noticed that we came before the other couple.Nicely decorated, relatively clean, busy, good atmosphere restaurant. The lamp above our table was too bright! The bright light reflected from the laminated menu and could not read the menu easily! Just use LED light - save energy and more convenient for customers. Staff was ok. I know it's a long day and tiring working in a restaurant but smiles on their faces do give a better impressions to customers. Whenever we were served our second round of drinks, the staff did not take our empty glasses away - why?Moes platter - huge portion for two ; the onion rings and mushroom were extremely greasy.Main courses - steak was a bit too well done ; leek, garlic and bacon sauce was bland - didn't taste of any garlic, sauce was milky probably from the cream ; chips were ok, would have preferred them to be more crispier and chunkier. Sizzling ducks - chewy, peking sauce was too sweet ; noodles were a bit too bland - bit of seasoning would have helped.Overall the portions were big ; seems like quantity over quality!

Went here with my wife just for a swift evening meal out. The food is very average to be honest. The mixed grill I had just felt like it was cheap meat and not quite worth the outlay. My wife felt similar about her meal. The redeeming facts being that I appreciate a big feed and felt full at the end of it. Not terrible but not good either. The place itself lacked any atmosphere and was freezing cold. I wore my coat the whole time. I might give it another go sometime, as I've had others saying they had a more positive time at Moes. I could yet be swayed, but for now it's distinctly average in every way!

I went here for lunch after dropping my cousin's XBOX over at the repair shop to get fixed and I have to say that it is better than the one back home in Antrim! Anyway, here are the better things.1. Better atmosphere2. Less waiting time3. Comfier seats4. Less noiseNow here are the negatives:1. Swear words in the background songs. There was a 9 year old with us!2. A long way to the toilets. If you are in a booth downstairs, you have to trek all the way upstairs to get to them.3. A bit hot. There was a light above our table which made it a bit too warm.I ordered the same thing as last time and it was better because the chicken was cooked to prefection! Chips were nice and crunchy and the peas were lovely and sweet. Overall I would return. Just for lunch, not for late night dinner,

Been to moes grill twice in castledawson, first time was there my girlfriend got a blood vessel in her chicken! In fairness they never charged us for her meal which was good so we decided go back after everyone we spoke to said go one in antrim the food alot better and that the one in castledawson is really bad, I decided go back one in castledawson because never thought it could be that bad as everyone was saying.. So when we got there they told us to go take a table and she would be over a min so we took a table the waitresses kept walking by us and our table wasnt even clean, one them stoped after 15 mins and asked where we ready to order and we didnt even have menus! So she went got our menus then she came to clean our tables she set our knife and forks on the dirty seat opposite us and when she went wipe the table she never sprayed our table and was droping dirt all over us, really couldnt believe it.. We ordered our food any way my girlfriend got chix gougons and I got southern fried chix and ribs tables of 6 and one of 5 came in and other couples after us and got there food before coming close to the hour mark my girlfriend was telling us to leave and just as I was bout to our food came 55 mins later! My food dis time was awfull the southern fried chix was 3 crispy strips which I reckon they got out of kfc and the ribs wer really really bland so we went straight to the till to pay our bill and girl asked was everything ok my girlfriend said bot the wait and the other tables getn before us, she said it wasnt our fault and never apoligised and didnt want to complain cos I realy didnt want to start so I paid and left!Over all the droping our knifes and forks on the seat realy anoyed me its disgustingHospitally services rubbish and the food awfullIve never been to one in antrim but everyone says it twice the place castledawson! But we will never be back!!

I have been to Moe's Grill twice recently. One for an Anniversary and the other for a Birthday. The Staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome. Food is beautiful and portions are really good. They do specials from 5 - 7 pm with two courses for £10.95 which is more than adequate.The restaurant is tastefully decoratedThe only down side is that the specials menu has remained the same for quite some time. I think a change every so often would be a big plus!!Keep up the good work!

Called in Moesgrill Magherafelt last minute on a Friday evening to celebrate the birth of our latest grandchild. There were 4 adults and three children, 7, 6 & 4 years old in our party. We were seated promptly, drinks served quickly and an activity pack for each of the children that kept them occupied (and quiet) until the food arrived. We ordered from the early bird menu and also the main menu and the food was good, served quickly with generous portions. The children all cleared their plates, enough said, and best of all the children all ate free. Well worth a try.

Had a mixed grill and the grease on the plate was mad. The starter (platter for 2) was all frozen food. Prices to dear for greasy frozen food

Went here with my partner entered the resturant and no one else in it except us and an over abudency off staff. Shown to our table , ordered drinks, I ordered the chilli chicken with no veg which came with extra veg and loads off sauce.. My partner had the steak which was ordered medium and came out well done . After sitting for 20+ mins after finishing our mains waiting for our table to be cleared , finally it was cleared and the waitress isn't even offer us a dessert menu just took our plates and walked away. We waited another 10 or so mins then the waitress brought us the bill which I didn't ask for .. But she set it down so we got up complained and were handed a £5 off next meal over £40 or something. The bill was like 40 for 2 mains 3 drinks would never go back and telling people to stay clear.

Im glad Moe's is finally on trip advisor. On 24th August on the way back from Belfast we stopped at Moe's for the first time for a meal. All I can say is we will definitely be back. We were seated within minutes and had our orders taken and food served within about 15 minutes. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. For 3 adult meals with a cold drink , a milk and a coffee it was only £32 with a £5 voucher to use on the next meal. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Again we loved it and will be back.

I have been to this restaurant on many occasions I always find the food consistent & fresh with big portion sizes. The staff are very friendly & efficient especially Susan the supervisor ( on the ball) would highly recommend it.

My father and I went to Moes for lunch one Saturday, as I'd been to the one in Antrim and it was very nice and service excellent. It wasn't busy at all and only a few tables were taken. We were taken to our table, which didn't feel 'clean' - sort of sticky. The lady who took our order was pleasant enough, however I didn't feel there was any effort to make us feel welcome. We ordered our food and considering the small number of people in the place, it was quite long before it was brought out. I had asked for the sauce to be served separately, however it wasn't and was all over it. I didn't say anything, as I thought there was no point. We didn't see of the staff again and no one asked if we wanted anything after we finished our meal, we had wanted a desert, but waited and waited and no-one came to take our order, so we gave up and went and paid. It was expensive for basic food you can cook at home. Very disappointed with the service and I was cross when my father left a tip, as it wasn't deserved.

We usually go to Moe's Grill on s Saturday after standing at football for a few hours, for a fry up. The food is lovely and the service is quick and friendly. The large screen televisions are great.

We visited Moe's Grill for dinner one evening. They have a decent early bird dinner between 5 and 7 each evening for £10.95 for two courses and three of the four of us ordered from that menu. We were seated promptly and a drinks order taken. When the waitress came back five minutes later with our drinks she left them on the table and left without asking were we ready to order (we were) and it was a further 10 minutes before a different waitress took our order.The food was fresh, hot and perfectly fine, although the couple of chips I stole from my dining companion tasted as if they were frozen, not fresh. This is not haute cuisine it's straightforward food standards like lasagne, chicken goujons, fish, steaks and burgers with a number of different sauces available.Once plates were delivered no-one came back to check on us during the meal. The seating is in booths with high sides so it is difficult to attract attention from staff moving round the floor and I had to walk over to the reception area to ask for ketchup.In summary, the food is fine, basic fayre. The atmosphere is not conducive to a special occasion but ok for a family/friends dinner but the lack of attentive service would put me off going back. You can get similar value elsewhere and feel like a valued customer.

We had lunch here recently and we were impressed, how can a place like this get away with the food they serve.. It was absolutely disgusting. We will definitely never go back and we regret we spent time and money in this place.

Been here a few times and tried a few things. Their stew is to die for, so tasty and you get lovely fresh wheaten bread with it. Also their Chilli Beef Panini is gorgeous, you should really try it! Me & my friend came here and got the panini with a side off garlic potatoes, the first time we had them they were gorgeous but the second time which was a few days ago they were quite burnt and wasn't very much garlic on them. Don't let that put you off! I have also had a baked potato with tuna mayo.. For me there was to much mayo mix but then again some people may like that. But it comes out with a gorgeous side salad, everything you could think off! So my only criticism would be too much mayo.The staff are efficient, friendly and always around if you need anything. Its a lovely big restaurant with nice decor.

We visited Moes on Saturday 16th March and although they were very busy (good sign) we were greeted, seated and served promptly by very friendly staff. Unfortunately they had no specials on as they only run mon-fri, although they did have a very extensive menu available. I had sizzling chicken with pepper sce and my husband had the bbq stack, both meals were very generously portioned and tasted fab. The waitresses were very pleasant detailing the soup and the fish of the day without having to be asked. Our water was served with lemon which is always a nice touch! When leaving we were asked how our meal was and were given a £5 off voucher for our next visit which was a nice surprise. We will definately be back.

Visited this resturant recently and the service was terrible,Our paty of 10 arrived for our booked table and were made stand in rece[tion area for 45 min.Asked for a drink(bar was beside us)didnt get served despite repeating request still not seved,im afraid when we finally got our table things didnt improve,service was sparodic and poor,drink orders were ignored we even had to ask for the bill several times,2/1\2 hours of not a very pleasent experience.The food itself was ok but the whole night was a massive letdown

Edible, just not much more to be said. Everything was just passable, staff were friendly, place was ok bit cold, food was about ok. Next time will drive on I think!

Bit if an Oasis on the road to Derry from Belfast. Ignore the KFC across the road and try this. Huge portions - chicken, ribs, steaks - nice TGI Friday type interior.

Starters were good, homemade and tasty. Mains were ok, fish goujons were fresh cod which was good, lasagne not so good, very dry and quite tasteless. Staff friendly and efficient. We stopped in enroute from Belfast to Derry so was a flying visit. Good value 2 courses for £10.95

We ate here 13/10/2012 - we were a large party, who had pre-ordered, the restaurant was busy. Staff very friendly, it would have been useful to spend some time going round and identifying main course for each diner and serving groups of 4-6 at a time this would have prevented staff standing at end of long tables and shouting the orders and then when the food wasn't claimed we were calling the orders up and down the table - some people had main course before sides and vice versa. Starter was good, steak was really good. my portion of chips was small - while some people got big bowls of chips - probably for more than one person but no-one really knew.

We had previously eaten twice in the Moes grill in Antrim and found the food to be lovely but the service appalling both times, having to wait for ages to be served and people arriving after we had been seated and their orders being taken before us, so we decided never to revisit there. We called into Moe's grill in Magherafelt today to see if they were any different. The waitress was very disinterested showing us to our seats, we asked for a minute before ordering drinks and she never came back again. We waited about 20 minutes before a second waitress who was a little more friendly arrived and took our order. The food was delicious and well presented, and good sized portions, which is a credit to the chef's. the decor hasn't really changed from the last owners, all that is different is the American memorabilia has gone. The staff clearly could do with a little bit more of customer service training which would make this restaurant worth returning too. We did mention it to the person on the till but she just stood with her mouth opened clearly not knowing what to do.The restaurant was not very busy so service should have been much better, we may return in the future but the lack of customer service would definately put us off.If you do decide to visit, the food is delicious but be prepared to wait on it.

We have been here several times now, and every time the food has been really tasty and good size portions. They do some very good deals both at lunch time and from 5 - 7 pm week nights. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The Staff are lovely, and its very tastefully decorated.

My wife & I popped in for a bite to eat late afternoon. Decided to go for a main course each as we were not that hungry. Staff were friendly & helpful & there were a lot on shift. The place was clean and tidy with a good crowd in. (always a good sign). Meals were very good, tasty & filling. Only complaint was that I ordered the burger with tomatoe & onion with side salad & chips. The burger came without any tomatoe or onion. I asked the waitress about the missing items & was told that there was onion & tomatoe in the side salad!!!! I did not want to cause a scene and left it at that. Perhaps they would need the staff trained a bit better? However I would go back as it was very good apart from that.

A few of us called in on a Friday evening just around tea time, the restaurant had a few people in it and there was no problem getting a table where we wanted which was nice. The staff were quick in bringing down the menu and drinks while we decided what to have. We were told about the tea time special which seemed a good offer for £10.95 each for starter & main or main & dessert. I had a mushroom starter which was ciabata bread with mushrooms and a cheese sauce on it. The sauce was just too much and left the bread totally soggy by the time it reached the table. It was really quite sickening and put me off the main course somewhat. For main course I had southern fried chicken with tobacco onions and BBQ sauce. The dish came out with two large chicken fillets and a huge amount of onions with a spot of BBQ sauce. There was a lot of eating in it and I was unable to finish this, perhaps partly due to the starter leaving me queasy. All in all the service was good, atmosphere was fine and tables were clean and tidy. However we did have to return glassware twice as they had someone elses lipstick marks on them which was a bit off putting. The car parking I imagine would be quite hectic, when we parked outside the car park had plenty of spaces but on leaving the car park was full and there seemed to be people waiting in their cars maybe on the bus coming in or similar. I would return to this restaurant again as the others all really enjoyed it and I think I was just unlucky with the starter so would try something different next time. The staff were also more than helpful when I asked to take the leftovers home for the dogs and we got a voucher for money off for the next visit which was nice, although it has to be used between Mon and Thurs which might be inconvenient.

We recently visited Moes Grill on tues 22nd May, and then again on wed 27th June. the restaurant seemed busy both times, there was two staff trying to take orders, give out meals etc. They were doing their best, but we waited for just over an hour on both occasions after our order was taken before we received our food. We had 2 children, a 2yr old and a 4yr old with us, and the wait was just too long for them. The food was excellent, when we finally received it.. Please employ more staff !! We thought we had just visited on a very busy evening and went back again, but it was just the same again, maybe worse!

We visited Moes after hearing pretty good reviews on the place. They do a early specials menu which is 10.95 for 2 courses and very good value. Not really wanting 2 courses we opted or the a la carte menu instead. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food immensely and the beef and bird which was a large lump of steak (cooked perfectly medium) with a large piece of chicken, tobacco onions, bush mills sauce and garlic potatoes was enough for 2 and only 16.95! The kids food was exceptionally good value also. My kids had (very large) cheeseburgers and chips which at 4.50 included a drink (although the drink was one of those disgusting fruit juices which want drunk, hopefully they will change that) and for dessert a 2 scoop tub of mauds ice cream! I had very happy kids. We didn't have dessert but the menu had looked nice. The interior of the ace is lovely however it's location does seem to make it easy to forget about. My only gripe (it's a pretty small one) was that a White wine spritzer was charged, a little expensively, as a quarter bottle of wine with the lemonade extra and obviously that had not been all used in my glass. Other than that I was pleasantly surprised and will definately be back, this time hopefully trying a bit more on the menu. This place is definitely a meat eaters restaurant, we have vegetarians in our family so I always check out availability for them and I'm afraid I agree with the other review in that it wouldn't suit the vegetarians that I know but for the rest of us carnivores it wa fantastic!

Moe's bar ad grill is situated jusy beaide the Castledawson park and ride service used to get to/from Belfast/Derry. Forhat reason it's not the nicest area for a resteraunt..but if you overlook this you will be suprised at the fairly well decorated interior and lack of traffic noise. Now onto the food. I came here with a group and were therefore given the upper level of the restaraunt. This comes with both advantages and disadvantages. The advantage being you gain privacy, the disadvantage being you're left neglected by the staff - a bit of a problem if you need a drink! The food was generally enjpyed by the group, who all eat meat, except for myself who is a vege. The vege options weren't great, but if you're a meaty bunch it sounds like it's good value!

We went for Sunday lunch here, 2 course for £12.95, the prawns were lovely, although 1 still had some shell on and the Marie rose sauce was not homemade and was a little bland. The roast beef dinner was fantastic and huge! Everything was delicious, the desserts were a little pricey but very good. The staff were friendly and they were happy to parcel up all that was left for us. Will definitely return soon!

Was eager to try it out as i had heard great reports and I wasn't disappointed. The food was lovely, reaaaallllyyyy lovely, the staff were great and the atmosphere was brilliant too :) will definitely be going back soon!!!
