Misto Pizzeria & Trattoria in Bolton

We have the privilege of living close to this restaurant so visit regularly.The food is always delicious, fresh and piping hot.The garlic bread is AMAZING. The portion sizes are very generous too. I just wish I had a bigger stomach to be able to fit more than one course in!!

First visit since we’ve come out of lock down although we’ve had takeaway. So glad to be back in this wonderful restaurant. It continues to be brilliant and really inventive with their foods. They have the classics but their specials are superb and it’s so reasonable. Their garlic bread with cheese is the best in the area (and Horwich is like little Italy these days you can’t move for Italians). I had the baked gnocchi for main. My only feedback is their dishes are huge I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone finish it. I had to save room for dessert to try the waffle tirimisu, it was superb.

Absolutely fantastic as always. True homemade food great atmosphere little hidden gem. Reluctant to recommend to much as we want to make sure we always get in.

A fantastic, rustic eatery where the lack of licence means that you can bring your own alcoholic beverages, and unlike many BYOB restaurants they haven’t tried to make this money up with increased food prices. I’ve visited various parts of Italy and for such a small restaurant they do a very good job of replicating an authentic dining experience. A great place to eat on a budget without sacrificing quality.

Great value, tasty and well presented food, the seafood tasted fresh. Staff really lovely and attentive. You can tell care and thought is put into everything from customer service, the menu, to the decor. I would recommend 100%

Eating out in the UK - Its spoiled by the expense - and as such it becomes a special occasion experience - and long have I wished for the kind of place you can visit on any average day - just to enjoy really well prepared food that doesn't break the bank - until now a way of life in many small establishments in Italy - Spain - Greece and such.But here in Horwich - where there are more eating places than you could ever justify - this tiny Italian - on my first experience - I can say tops the lot !!!Great service - simply lovely home cooked fresh food - great taste and presentation - great prices - and you can bring along your own wine !!! That they open at a good time and don't close till they are done is even better !!Its basic - simple - and friendly - rustic - and really the food is first class !!!!Best meal out we have had in a long time - and thank you Misto - we will be back for more !!!!!!!

Recommended by a friend, we dined here as a group of 8 on Friday night. Although the restaurant is only small, it felt cosy & with a bring your own alcohol policy we couldn't complain! The staff are attentive, friendly and the food is top quality! I ordered the Chicken Risotto and the portion size was VERY generous, if not a little too much. However I asked if I could take the rest home which was no problem at all. I will definitely be returning to try out some of the other dishes on the menu as every dish the table ordered looked delicious. All for a great price too!

We had visited this restaurant with a couple of friends in December last year and really enjoyed the food,so we decided to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday there. There were 26 of us in total and due to it being a small restaurant we had the place to ourselves. We pre ordered all the meals which is a great idea and it worked out very well, making the night run smoothly. The food was great and the service was really good for such a big group. The prices are reasonable and its take your own alcohol which makes a big difference on the overall cost of the night. We all thoroughly enjoyed the night and we will definitely be going back again soon .

The food at Misto is excellent, i have eaten here many times and the standard of both food and service is always fantastic, a cut above the rest. We will definitely be back.

Went for early evening meal with family. Small and intimate with good ambiance. All food was freshly cooked and you could tell. Delicious,large portions and quality ingredients. Great staff and I would imagine if any one had cause for complaint it would soon be rectified. Best value and quality meal I have had in ages and highlights just how much people are ripped off elsewhere. Will be back !!!!

Went here for a work party and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive to us the whole evening. We had a wonderful time but we were disappointed towards the end of the evening as the cashier was inexperienced at working out the bill for us to pay per person. We even worked out what was owed, paid and then when it came to giving us change she couldn’t seem to work out what was needed. It was a stressful end to what was a fabulous evening. Well done to the chef for cooking up a storm in the kitchen it truly was a delicious meal. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up

First visit here on a busy Saturday evening and despite how busy the place was the service and food were excellent. This is only a small place,but somehow that makes it even better. It's worth mentioning that you would need to supply your own alcohol,but the restaurant does sell soft drinks . great food and friendly staff,definitely to be recommended.

4 of us went on a Saturday night for dinner. It’s very small but has a cosy atmosphere. We took our own alcohol, but didn’t realise we weren’t meant to bring soft drinks eg tonic for the gin. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Traditional Italian fayre. We would definitely return

We attended this restaurant as a group of friends, we had been told prior to turning up that own alcohol could be taken, there was a good selection of soft drinks to purchase. The menu was good and the prices were very reasonable.

I was out walking the dogs and strolled straight past Misto on a midweek evening and was amazed to see how busy the place was. Must be worth a visit i thought so phoned up and booked. It turned out to be a most enjoyable meal with my wife. One shared starter and 2 main courses and it came to less than twenty quid. A little cramped in the restaurant if I'm being honest - the tables need spacing out just a little more but happy to put up with that. Absolutely worth a visit as long as you' re not expecting a quiet, private and overly romantic experience because this place is not what it is about.

Lovely restaurant, made to feel very welcome,food was amazing and staff friendly. Price was very reasonable and glasses were provided for our own alcoholic drinks that we brought.

This was our third trip to this little place. Lovely food, the gnocchi was amazing. The cheesy garlic bread is always a winner. Staff always lovely. I love that I can bring my own drinks too. came to £10pp in total. Amazing.

Excellent service for 13 of us and one child. Kept informed about food coming out. All dishes served at the same time. Everyone agreed the food was excellent and plentiful. Nice relaxing atmosphere never felt rushed. I would highly recommend the prawns to start and the seafood pasta as a main.

We went on a Saturday night and believe me you have to book early or you won't get in. Food was very good. Meatballs followed by chicken with black peppercorns. The staff were very attentive and lovely. 5 stars for me. Oh and no corking charge.

The biggest reason to go to Misto is of course for the great value food on offer, but there are two other good reasons. First, the service is excellent and really friendly and secondly, you can take your own alcoholic drinks with you. This means that the bill is considerably less, and there is no need to dwell on a wine list or argue about what wine you should compliment the excellent food with! As well as the regulars like Pizzas, Pasta, etc, there are also specials to choose from on the menu, like Sea Bass and Sirloin Steak. And they are all at great prices. Because of this, it does get busy and I would definitely recommend booking before you go, but I am sure you will not be disappointed

Our family visited Misto last night after hearing so many good reviews. We were not disappointed. We had a variety of dishes and everyone enjoyed the food. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. Unfortunately none of us had room for dessert but are planning a return visit and will try and save some space for pud.

Small but very popular Italian restaurant. Friendly staff and a comprehensive menu of good food. They are not licenced for alcohol, so you just bring your own wine with you, which makes it even better value.

Fabulous little restaurant, fantastic food, excellent prices. Staff very friendly and attentive. We use to dine at the owners previous restaurant and were gutted when it closed, didn't realise they had moved to this place. Great that you can take your own alcohol albeit they do sell soft drinks and mixers. Can't wait to return very soon.

My father-in-law took the family for a meal at Misto last Sunday and we would recommend it, as everyone, including the grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was absolutely delicious and we were pleasantly surprised by the bill. We only booked the night before and managed to get in at 6pm until 8pm on the Sunday. Will definitely return.

Musto might be small in stature, but it’s a giant as far as excellent food, great service and value for money goes!

Ate here yesterday for the first time - all four of us thoroughly enjoyed all of our food. The penne al salmone, my main course choice, was probably the best I've ever tasted (having had similar dishes in several other places). Staff are friendly and welcoming, and the prices are extremely good value - cheap by any standards but especially so given the excellent quality of food. I'm just sorry it's taken us a while to get round to coming here. Thank you - we'll be back!

Ate here again on a very busy Saturday night. Shown straight to our table,food order taken within 10 minutes. Waited about 10 minutes for starters which where excellent,spare ribs and portobello mushrooms.

Visited here for a 50th birthday party, excellent food, pre ordering great, lovely ambiance and staff exceptional. Great prices for all food and soft drinks . Will definitely be back for another visit soon .

First visit with family who live locally. I had meatballs (delicious ) and spicy pizza (very tasty). Everyone enjoyed their meals. It appears to be very popular as it was packed on a Weds night. Only criticism is I had to chase up the staff after I asked three different questions without them getting back to me. Definitely will go again

Visited on Sunday evening with friends who had been before. Very small but pleasant and the staff are lovely too. We took our own wine which is a big plus. Four of us shared tomato garlic bread to start with. One had the Lasagne and he rest of us chose from the specials board, two having the lamb shank and myself the sea bass. All the dished were well cooked and tasty with separate vegetables. I must say we all had a very nice meal and will be returning at some point as we don't live in Horwich. It was worth the journey.

Horwich does not suffer from a shortage of Restaurants, so you need to be good to be successful. I had heard a lot of good things about Misty, but, only got chance to visit this week, and was not disappointed.

Lovely atmosphere the food here is fantastic friendly staff and great service can’t ask for more. Seafood tagliatelle is excellent and I would definitely recommend this. Not had a bad meal here.

We were introduced to this place by our neighbours. We drive past it all the time but it never dawned on us to go as Horwich has quite an abundance of eateries. This one ranks up there with the best of them.

Lovely restaurant friendly atmosphere nice and warm. The food here was excellent. Excellently presented food very friendly staff. Prawns with chilli,and fried breaded feta to start both fantastic. Vegetable pasta bake and tagliatelle seafood for mains both very tasty and huge. Fantastic restaurant we will be back

We visited on a Tuesday evening and really enjoyed the whole eating experience, including the food, service, informal atmosphere, and especially the value-for-money. Luckily, we booked before arriving, because the restaurant soon filled up and, on this visit, we can see why.

Small and cafe like rather than a restaurant feel. Bring your own alcohol (they are not licenced). Defo not the place for a romantic dinner for two. But the food is awesome. Very well presented, and very tasty. Only has small menu, but what they do they do very well. Will defo be returning.

Would prefer to keep quiet about this little gem with it being so small but wouldn't be fair. Went again yesterday and did not disappoint. The food is amazing and lovely staff. The fact you can take your own alcohol is just big bonus. Already planning out next visit.

Visited last week for the first time and had only discovered it a couple of weeks ago. Really enjoyed it, the atmosphere was great, small inside but this adds to the cosy feeling. The food that we ordered both dishes where superb the Pizza was so thin and the pastas where delicious rich and creamy and the Salad was very fresh and plentiful .The great thing is, is that you can take your own wine.

Booked a party for 13 adults, cocktails first at the Crown Hotel, gathered everyone together in comfort.

Been here four or five times now and the food has always been of good quality, the prices are very reasonable and the service has always been excellent.

Very tasty takeaway Vulcano pizza with a couple of extra toppings. Excellent value with generous toppings and a very nice thin but crisp pizza base. Attractive restaurant with a good atmosphere and service with a smile. Next time I think we'll be eating in the restaurant.

Misto is close to where I live. I have been on many occasion, and have never been disappointed. It is very small but cosy. The menu is small but excellent and consistent. Everything I have had has been gorgeous. The portions are very generous and the prices are so reasonable. Service is great and the staff so polite. To Take your own wine is a bonus. I have recommended to many people who also have the same opinion as myself. If I could recommend one thing it would be a candle on the table and softer lighting or some fairy lights but thats just an aesthetic comment, doesn't change the quality of the food. It's my favourite place.

Lovely little relaxed Italian with super friendly service. The menu is simple with some specials too, all at a very good price. Garlic bread had a nice crispy dough and plenty of garlic. Pasta dishes very nice. Only knocked down to four star due to the vegetable risotto which was slightly oily and had too much garlic. Overall delicious food, great service and a lovely menu.

Went for the first time - 4 of us. Great, tasty fresh food. Good sized portions. Brilliant value, especially as it’s bring your own alcohol. Friendly, efficient service. Only room for improvement is perhaps the lighting- too bright under the ceiling spotlights. It would definitely benefit in terms of atmosphere and experience if it was dimmer lighting and candles on tables.

went tonight and had a great meal for a ridiculous bargain price.If you travel less than one mile in either direction you will pay twice as much for very very similar food add to this that it's a BYO and suddenly it's nearly as cheap to eat out as in.We will return ..

A great addition to Horwich. Not big, so you need to book on peak nights, but its size gives it a great atmosphere. Really intimate and friendly. And the food is superb - definitely the best Italian around. Good value too, particularly as you can bring your own wine.

Had a fantastic meal here. The feeling is cosy and the service was excellent nothing was to much trouble. The meal was excellent value for money. Taking our own beer and wine was lovely definitely would recommend.

Having frequented this establishment many years ago on my way to school I was surprised to see it 45 years later turn into a restaurant .I visited it on a Sunday evening and having viewed the menu I chose a favourite Pasta dish of mine and to be honest it was absolutely superb . The staff were very friendly really good experience . Will be visiting again soon

Out with friends for Saturday afternoon drinks and called in just to see if they could accommodate us later. Very nice lady, a partner in the business I think, was able to fit us in. Only very small but cosy but what lovely food and service. I have advised other friends and family to visit as they wont be disappointed. Will certainly visit again.

What a fantastic discovery! Smack bang in Horwich central, this tiny family run eaterie is an excellent addition to Horwich's social life . More of a front room rather than a main dining room , the cosy , warm friendly atmosphere is truly unique and funky .The food was stunning, even though they got my order wrong ( zero matter ) everyone's dishes were fresh and tasty , at av very reasonable prices . If you live nearby and do not visit , that will be a big mistake .

Four of us visited the restaurant. They don’t have an alcohol licence at the moment so it is take your own drinks. I have been to many Italians and although the restaurant is small and decor basic it has the best food and best service of any restaurant I been too recently.
