Miss Tapas in Southwark

We were very much looking forward to come back here as we used to go regularly. It used to be rustic, relaxing and great tapas. The whole experince was chaotic as one waiter desperately tried to throw out food that was overcooked, dry and with zero love put in. To fail with such basic dishes and then charge 10 pounds per plate is a disgrace. When we complianed about a dish the staff just shrugged their shoulders with a smile and a knowing look before taking it away. No owner or manager in sight. Such a shame!

It was a quiet Wednesday evening when my husband and I stopped by to have supper, but we had a great time -- good music, friendly service, nice vibe. The food was excellent (recommend the tortilla, the calamari, and the chorizos in red wine). The restaurant is small and cosy and I imagine that on a busy night the atmosphere would be really buzzy -- but as there is plenty of space between tables, it wouldn't be cramped. We'd definitely come again.

Read the reviews so was looking forward to visiting. They are very popular so have squeezed in as many tables as possible both besides you and behind you. I had to keep moving to let the waiting staff pass by. This would have been ok if the food was great. It wasn't really, having visited other tapas restaurants. The worst dish was the fried chicken which was extremely dry. To be fair, they replaced it once I mentioned it, but it shouldn't have come out. It was clearly just seasoned with salt and pepper and deep fried. The cocktails were nice, but sadly we left disappointed.

Friendly staff, excellent food, nice venue. Hard to find good tapas in London but this place does it very well - not a single bad dish from the 10 or so we tried. The stand outs were the mushroom croquetas, the beef and the bravas. Loved the cava too!

Great food and wonderful staff. A really warm and friendly welcome; the menu was great and the food and cava excellent. The staff were outstanding - nothing was a problem and they were attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Truly professional - thank you for a great evening. Will be back ASAP.

The food is great but the staff are special and make this place a solid five out of five. They are really lovely and serve in a very natural friendly manner. Reasonably priced, generous tapas portions and nice decor.

Went here for lunch with a friend and was very pleasantly surprised. The food arrived quickly and was delicious and we could order by scanning the QR code and visiting the website for the menu. There's a great choice for vegans and vegetarians and everything is marked for gluten free as well. Our waitress was friendly and helpful when it came to suggesting things from the menu. We also loved the fact that people could bring in their four-legged friends as well. Would definitely recommend - the only reason I didn't give five stars is because it's quite small and so table space is a bit limited.

Went for dinner last night and got rushed out of the door. They didn't give us much time for anything. It felt really unprofessional. I get they had other people coming but why not make it so there's grace time between bookings. Instead of giving people the bill before they've even asked for it and coming back to tell them when the next people are coming. The food was OK.

First thing first: the food is delicious. I have been in Spain multiple times and the quality offered here is on par with authentic local restaurants. The tortilla was especially divine. But there are also negatives: we booked selecting a kind of table (and explicitly avoiding the bar) and when we arrived 20:45, we got the bar offered... After half an hour circa we got a table. We gave the feedback in person and apparently they got troubles with the new booking system. Still no particular care for the situation, we had to wait half an hour, didn't got any complimentary to help with the waiting nor discount... A nice esperience overall, the waitress who listened to our complain was attentive but the rest of the staff didn't show any particular care nor interest with the situation.

Feel very lucky to live in Peckham Rye, where we have easy access to at least three Tapas joints. The second we went to last night was probably the standout, though, and that's saying something. Were only in for an hour but that was long enough to savour the exquisite tortilla, the wonderfully flavoursome anchovies and - thanks to asking a waiter what the fried dish that passed us on the way to another table - the fried chicken. Not sure if the last one was wholly authentic but we really didn't care when the meat was so succulent against the crispy, salty skin. All that washed down by a glass of Amontillado which had the most perfect nutty aftertaste. Can't wait to return.

Sorry to say very disappointing. Tortilla was not nice at all, and both croquetas awful. I have lived in Spain and know what authentic tortilla and croquetas taste like, and this was most definitely not it. The cheese was just about passable. The asparagus was nice and also patatas bravas (though too much sauce). The wine was delicious. All in all we felt we were being hurried on with our meal, and the quality of over half the meal was terrible. Unfortunately we won’t be going back.

Rocked up at 7ish and put my name and number down for a table while I waited for my date - went round to Bar Story for cocktails in the meantime. We got the call and ended up being seated next door at El Segundo, right at the bar. Food amazing, wine amazing, service amazing (got chatting to Alicia, what a babe!). Left with bellies full and hurting from laughter! Would go back a million times.

Best tapas restaurant in london. It’s a lovely independent restaurant in Peckham that’s perfect for a romantic meal. The waiter Chris always looks after us and it’s mine and my boyfriends go to restaurant for a nice meal out. Portions could be bigger but all the dishes taste great. Would highly recommend!

This is an excellent tapas bar with some very good food and outstanding wines. Service and atmosphere are good. Only disappointment was the patatas bravas which was a but underwhelming. Otherwise great!

We love this place. It is so good. Everything about this place is great: the food, service, atmosphere. There is a really good selection of tapas: chorizo in wine, cheese & honey, cold meat selection, mushroom croquettes. Everything is good. The organic Rioja is delicious; there is a good selection of sherry too. It is worth noting though that the place is small and it doesn’t take reservations except for groups of 8 or more. If that’s not you, get there early (ie c 1830) or be willing to wait.

we had loads of wine and the selection recommended by our friendly waiter was nice too. we will probably try again soon as some items on the menu were also interesting

Nice atmosphere and interior. Good wine list and cocktails. However, food wasn't fantastic - croquetas were cold right in a middle. Prawns were big disappointment as extremely overcooked, with a very funny texture.But other things we tried were quite nice. Will go again for some wine and maybe cold cuts next time.

What an absolutely superb find. A truly authentic tapas bar. From delicious bite size morsels of steak to padron peppers to coquettes to quails eggs.

Tuve una pequeña cena perfecta en este lugar! Los camareros (un chico y otra chica llamada Alisha) fueron geniales, muy atentos durante toda la cena: realmente querían que tuviéramos una excelente experiencia de comida y bebida, y estaban recomendando las combinaciones correctas sin necesariamente vender y parecen conocer realmente sus vinos: la botella recomendado fue delicioso. La comida también era buena, teníamos queso derretido, pimientos de padron, una ensalada y langostinos salteados, pero fue el servicio, el ambiente y el vino lo que destacó.

Staff is great, but the food didn’t blow my socks off. We tried about 1/3 of the menu - could be we were trying the wrong stuff but don’t think I’ll go back...

Great atmosphere, delicious and relatively traditional tapas, friendly staff and good prices. Not much more to say - highly recommend!

4 de nosotros comimos aquí un domingo por la noche. Como no puede reservar una mesa, debe llegar temprano, ya que es un restaurante bastante pequeño. El menú limitado está marcado en la pared, por lo que muchos artículos cambian regularmente. La comida era buena ya un precio razonable para Londres, desafortunadamente cuando llamamos se habían quedado sin cerveza española de barril, así que tuvimos que conformarnos con una alternativa embotellada más cara (e inferior). La casa roja era muy potable y una ganga a las 4. 40 por vaso.

Loved Miss Tapas! I’d heard good things about this place and wasn’t disappointed. The wine was delicious. The food was delightful, simple and tasty. The service was good and it was all reasonably priced. All in all a great experience.

Realmente disfrutamos de nuestra visita aquí y conseguimos una mesa para 6 fácilmente el jueves por la noche, lo cual fue genial. El servicio fue rápido y todo el personal fue muy amable. La comida y la carta de vinos era extensa y todo lo que comimos estaba delicioso. Yo personalmente recomendaría las patatas bravas, las croquetas de jamón y el chorizo y los huevos de codorniz.

Fui aquí para la comida de última hora cuando en el área de Peckham Rye anoche. Nos las arreglamos para que nos sentaran muy rápido y el personal muy amable. Pedí 7 platos entre 2 y todos fueron absolutamente deliciosos. Las mejores tapas que he probado en años, a un precio realmente razonable, volverían en un abrir y cerrar de ojos.

I've visited this small restaurant a few times and has always been very tasty. I was recommended to try the salmorejo which didn't sound great and made a deal with the waitress if I didn't like it she would buy it for me. It was the tastiest hard boiled egg and cold tomato sauce I've had.

The menu is short but worthwhile several visits to sample all the food in this outstanding place.

Visité aquí por primera vez esta noche y nos alegramos tanto de haberlo hecho, la mejor comida que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo. Cada plato que pedimos era tan sabroso y de precio razonable. Plato favorito fue huevos de codorniz y chorizo, a la perfección! No puedo esperar para visitar de nuevo!

Went here for an early dinner after reading such great reviews. It did not disappoint. Welcomed by a very friendly efficient guy who seated us without a wait. It is the best tapas I have had out of Spain. We had a couple of glasses of wine each. We then shared the pork which was cooked like a steak (best pork dish I have had in ages). The fried chicken was delicious and was accompanied by a dipping sauce which complimented it perfectly. Pardon peppers were cooked really well. Sardines on toast had so much flavour and cane with peppers on the toast as well which balanced out the sweetness and saltiness perfectly. The pan con tomato was also delicious. We also had the goats cheese dish which came with honey, great balance. My least favourite was the chorizo el vin (still great) but maybe a tiny bit too much oil for me. I would highly recommend Miss Tapas to anyone. I would get there early or later as by the time we left at 7.45 there was a huge queue and this was on a Wednesday.

It was my first time to visit this restaurant and normally I'm not the Kind to write reviews unless I've been experiencing wow factor.

Incredible food is really all I need to say tapas dish after dish of deliciousness staff were also brilliant making the night a lot of fun as well as having good knowledge of the menu and how it's cooked wine was also one of the best bottles of wine I've ever had complemented the food perfectly Miss Tapas herself is a wonderful lady even though she was busy she still took the time to have a chat with us the place is tiny but that is half the charm of it so you might have to be put on the list

This is a really good tapas place. For me as good as Lobos/Barrafina and a lot cheaper. The staff were also lovely and they got us seated way quicker than anticipated. Would recommend.

Great food, great service! Would definitely go back. Highly recommend the tortilla (its a bit wet, similar to how its mad in some parts of Spain), the spanish fried chicken and the cod croquetas!

Well worth a visit, will definitely return. The food was great, the best tapas I’ve tried in London. The cozy restaurant also has a great buzz to it and is beautifully designed. The service was excellent and really made the whole experience.

It's always the greatest pleasure to dine here. I'm very proud to say it's my local and in my humble opinion the best in London. Great, authentic flavours, always friendly staff and reasonable prices. What else would you want? Come and try for yourself!

Came here with a friend for tapas. Excellent service from friendly and knowledgeable staff. The chefs, apparently, come from Seville and Cadiz (in southern Andalucia where tapas was invented). Excellent drinks list; we sampled the Fino, Manzanilla and Pedro Ximenez and all were really good. The food was pitch perfect and the desserts, to my delight, were gluten-free. Given the amount of food and drink we got through, the bill was reasonable. We were early diners so the restaurant was quite empty when we arrived. The only problem we found was that when it got full, it became very noisy, so much so that it was headache-inducing and hard to hold a conversation. There was no music playing, it's just the effect of many people all trying to talk at once in a small space. Also, all the seating is on high bar stools, which didn't bother us but could be hard for some people. So the physical environment has some drawbacks, but I couldn't fault the service, drinks, or food, and I'd happily eat here again though I might choose a weeknight in hope of a quieter time.

This was the best. Really enjoyed it. one of the nicest tapas I have had. The staff was really nice and excellent. our food was so so good I could eat it all over again.

The tapas here is amazing! It’s always so busy and I can understand why. The selection of tapas is really special and delicious, lots of great vegetarian options. I came here last year and the staff were very accommodating. We had to wait a while to get a table as we hadn’t booked but we were kept satisfied with a bottle of wine!

Have been an infrequent regular since it opened. Is my favourite tapas in the whole of a London so super lucky it’s pretty local.

No había oído hablar de esto hasta que nos fuimos a un restaurante cercano al Sr. Bao y nos dijeron que aquí porque era demasiado ajetreado y que el propietario de la esposa pierda Tapas era del Sr. Bao. Estuvimos muy contentos con el cambio de plan ya que disfrutamos todos la comida que comimos en Miss Tapas. Todo el personal era amable y servicial, y todo el lugar tenía un buen ambiente.

Este es un pequeño bar de tapas. Es atmosférico y tiene muy buena comida. La lista de vinos probablemente podría mejorarse, como el indulto pimientos (las tapas de prueba) pero exponer algunos sirven excelentes platos a precios razonables. Siempre fresca y siempre sabe a tope.

Reservamos entradas para el cine de la azotea y utilizado tripadvisor para encontrar un restaurante cercano. Tan contentos de haberlo hecho. No estamos demasiado encontramos restaurantes tapa normalmente pero era algo totalmente diferente. Todas las tapas recomendado eran excelentes, miss tapas también ofrece grandes vinos españoles y el postre fue un paraíso.

Superb dishes. Better than I have had on holiday. Seabass, Iberian pork, meatballs, padron peppers, fried chicken and tortilla are all really good. Great staff and not expensive. 2nd visit.

Were visiting a friend who lives locally near by, this was / is his favourite and its easy to see why: authentic feel, great quality tapas, reasonably priced, nice interior. Would definitely recommend if in the area. Top marks!

Francamente, el mejor en Londres. He estado aquí 5 veces desde que descubrí, y me lo hacen a mi negocio a volver. regularmente Las codornices huevos son una particular debe y si no están recibiendo el Jamon Iberico Bellota de eres un loco. Las opciones de vinos son sensacionales, el personal es muy amable y la comida es ridículamente deliciosa. Los alrededores son preciosos, un lugar particularmente buena fecha aunque he estado con la familia y amigos. Nunca dissapoints.

Great range of dishes at this cosy restaurant - all tasted excellent, with the mushroom/truffle croquettes as a highlight. Wine was great, service with a smile, had to wait a bit to get in bit worth it!

Mi amigo y yo tenía la intención de probar este restaurante por meses, ya que nos cambiaron a la zona. Llegamos el domingo a mediodía y recibió una camarera tan amable y acogedor. Ella fue muy servicial y nos hizo sugerencias excelentes.

Been there twice despite having a long list of restaurant to try in London. I love this place the food is delicious and the restaurant is very cosy. it feels like you're on holiday!

Unfortunately the owner has no real concept of customer service. Food is actually good! However to ask people to move tables in between courses is apparently normal!!! To me it is not and I pointed this out. For me difference between good restaurant and great restaurant is customer service. I will always pay whole bill and informed owner this was the case.... Was given a free sherry as an apology... for me this is a joke!!! Judge for yourself, but feel summs us a restaurant that has got way too big for its boots!!!

Una buena selección de vinos y el personal es muy amable. Este lugar es bastante pequeña. Estuvimos allí en el momento de apertura así que llegamos fácilmente, pero en las horas pico probablemente la cola para una mesa - no aceptan reservas. Sin embargo, vale la pena la espera. Este lugar es genial. Sin duda volveremos.

In December 2016 we visited Mr Tapas...or Bao as he is known and devoured the most divine Bao buns to ever pass my lips. At this point we learned of Miss Tapas. Nine months later we graced the doorstep of this fine tapas restaraunt in Peckham. Ive never been a huge fan of tapas, but adding a contemporary twist, my mind has been changed.A real standout of the evening was the quails egg and chorizo. The restaraunt is intimate and filled with identity. The staff attentive and friendly. I have a real love for peckham. This is in part due to the culture and personality it exudes, but also for the love I have for independent business and more specifically Miss Tapas and Mr Bao, Peckhams power couple.

I highly recommended this little tapas bar, I went with my boyfriend and we had such a lovely meal. Everything was cooked perfectly and it was so tasty, also the portion sizes were great as it meant you could try plenty of things without getting full quickly.

We had another fun evening...we had 3 dishes each...not much veg! ....and it was plenty....we sat at the bar...a bit cramped....we look forward to returning....

Wanted a quick bite before heading elsewhere for the evening to dance.We were really happy with everything we tried at Miss Tapas. We were seated at the bar as there was wall to wall people filling this cosy space.We had a salad with avocado, Sweet potato crisps it was delicious and fresh.Stand out items were the Tuna steak morsels and the Squid.The wine was reasonably priced and the staff efficient and friendly enough.

Get around Peckham you would never guess to find such a place. Nice, cosy, friendly place with amazing authentic Spanish tapas. Not any tapas, but the one that makes you lick your fingers and cry for more. Love it. Will come back for sure. (Shhhhh I'm not even mentioning the prices, don't tell anyone)

I was visiting London from Leeds and I fancied tapas. My friend said a new restaurant had opened near her house. We went around 18:30 on a Sat. The food Was delicious and came out really fast. The truffle and mushroom croquettes were to die for and also the Spanish tortilla was incredible. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I hope to return in the near future. The pricing I thought was reasonable for food as you are paying for quality.The only thing which could make this place better would be if they sold spirits as I don't like wine and beer, but I was fine with soft drinks. Drinks are quite expensive.Go and try it for yourselves.

love coming here, absolutely incredible food. great atmosphere. favourite place in south london. however the food is a bit too pricey for what you get, would go more if it was a touch cheaper. but otherwise highly recommended.

Some of the best food I've had and I've travelled everywhere. Try the pork...it somehow tastes like fois gras. Everything is stunning. Very small and no reservations. Sign in and go to the pub across the street and they will text u when your table is ready.

I've been to many tapas restaurants and this is up there as one of if not the best tapas restaurant. It has a great combination of quality of food and atmosphere. Although you have to make sure you get there early, it's not the biggest and very popular.

I had went to Miss Tapas following a recommendation and wasn't disappointed. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly and the menu was great. Padron peppers, the bread and the ox were particularly good. The venue itself is a little small and there is occasionally a queue but it is well worth the wait. I would highly recommend and it won't be the last time I eat here.

Miss Tapas is my favourite Tapas restaurant outside of Spain. Gorgeous cheese with honey, mushroom and truffle croquettes, patatas bravas and padrón peppers! Delicious. Lovely staff as well.

We went on a Friday lunch time and it was quite empty which is really surprising as the food is excellent. I love tapas because it's fun to try so many different things, and you can risk something that you might otherwise be wary of committing to if it comes in a huge portion. So we tried loads and ate it all, and more.

This place is a cute little restaurant in peckham just off the high street. It only has about 10 tables but has a very cute atmosphere. The food is all lovely and it has new items on the menu every time I go. It's very reasonably priced and the staff are all lovely. I've been here 5 times and every time it has been amazing! Fab little gem!

We went for a meal here last week. It was bustling with a great atmosphere. The staff were fabulous despite it being very busy and the food was delicious - definitely some of the best tapas I've had.

You can't book here but they made us wait barely 30 minutes and then we were seated.The wine is fine, even the cheapest one is very drinkable and enjoyable. The food comes very quickly but not in a bothering way, they have a good timing.Overall we had a great experience, I recommend the seabass and the presa iberica.They also have a nice range of sherry to end with style.I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I asked my OH how to start: "Miss Tapas is excellent". The food is always great -the presa iberica and the olives in particular, and the squid when it's on. OH LOVES the tortilla. Service is great, even for people like me with slightly annoying diets, as are their wines. I find it a bit too loud when its crowded (that is just me and my hearing) but it's a fantastic place to while away the hours.

I was so happy to find this little gem in Peckham and have been going back ever since. The food is superb and the service is excellent, you really feel as though you are in Spain. I would definatley recommend the famous Jamon, also the tortilla and the ox cheek are incredible - Every dish is cooked to perfection, you want it to last forever! The restaurant has a lovely cosy atmosphere and the staff really make you feel welcome and at home. I couldn't recommend this place more - absolutely the best!

Called in here for a light lunch and enjoyed the traditional tortilla with a beer. Sardines were also very good. Small, cosy venue.

We had an AMAZING dinner in here, this wonderful hidden gem in the heart of peckham. They have a kind of "turn up to book" reservation style which meant you can't book in advance, you turn up and tell them your number and party size and they call you when the table is ready - this obviously meant when they called we had just bought a drink in the pub (such is the way) but they just let us have the next table which was perfect!The food was... WOW just perfect! Amazing and delicious and came so quickly! We ordered around 12 dishes between 4 of us and our bill was only around £100 - an absolute steal!! With 2 bottles of wine! The waiting staff were so attentive and really friendly (especially Fay - shoutout to you for getting our terrible jokes and actually going along with it haha!!) And they just seemed to be aware of the service needed and it was just a perfect evening! The food caters for all tastes and I just can't explain more about how delicious it all was.We will DEFINITELY be going back very soon!!!

Visited this Tapas bar on a Wednesday night. Small but nice. Superb food and quite unique,as well as wonderful Tapas the Tarta Santiago was to die for, The service was excellent without being oppressive. Would recommend going ASAP,

Tapas here is exceptional. We regularly dine here and take friends. Tortilla and croquettes are always amazing. Great value wine. Only gripe is lack of larger tables and strange booking/no booking system. Have tried to book previously and been told they don't take Bookings and then arrived on a Saturday eve to be told all tables are booked...frustrating but they are accommodating and will send you off to get a drink at a local pub and will call when tables become free.

Miss tapas is small and charming. We put our name on the wait list and waited nearly an hour (which is exactly how long the staff told us we would need to wait) but it was very worth the wait! We had around of 7 of the tapas options. All were delicious. It was a great atmosphere for sharing dishes and having a great chat with friends. The staff could have been more informative about the food and wine selection, but all and all I would highly recommend!

We ate here on a busy Friday night and despite it being extremely busy the service was excellent as was the quality of the food. Great value overall. Would recommend it to anyone who loves tapas.
