There was a hair in biryani then all 3 of us got sick after eating their food. Terrible food

It was A nice place i have ever Visited in my Life. When we stepped in we were welcome by a Nice Manager and he walked with us to the table. We get poppadom with 4 sauces free of cost and then we get clean plates again for food. The Food was so delicious that i Ever tasted in my life. It was amazing visit to Mirchi. Recommended again and again and specially when you got friends and Family so peaceful environment it was. Thanks ☺️

worst restaurant in Cardiff for the last 7years always same experienceWORST WORST RESTAURANT.We booked for Eid 2024 eidulftr.Worst service,same meal quantity fraud,like small pots,servibg pots whrer big no meat in lamb karahi.Chicken tikka small size and even meat was swiftly cleverly cut off bone. How terrible the experience was I can’t explain in worda and words wont be enough to describe the horrible food in taste and quantity.PLEASE DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY GOING THERE

Orderd 1kg of lamb they sent 2 small containers which was not 1kg of lamb false advertisement and medioca food go to lahore in grangetown on penarth road if you want authentic food and great prices

Very un hygienic. Poor service, they were not able to manage the serving the customers in time, caused long waiting. Had stomach upset after having dinner.

I am going mirchi from years,tonight i book table for iftar..travel al the way from newport to cardiff with family.. We reached 6:30 and iftar time was 6:40,we were early by 10 minutes.. On reception they told us you are late and we gave your table to some one alse,on booking they did not give us anytime of arrival.. They boy reception told us i will ask the owner if they can arrange some table for us,,they owner was worst one,proper D head..did not ever bother to listen to us or sort out the situation.. It was the worst service ever,they dont even bother we were fasting.. -100 for the manager and owner we not going to go their again in our life..

This restaurant has continued to decline and sadly its the last time we will ever use this place. The service is not great but the food was good. The ever increase in prices and decrease in portion size means that this restaurant is no longer any different to many in Roath area. I paid £11.90 for a portion that had 5 tiny pieces of chicken and half the container was empty. It was barely enough for one person. Sadly greed and profits are more important than quality and customer care.

Quite disappointed after my last visit. Ordered lamb karai and got lamb curry with extra salt.

My family and I went to the Mirchi restaurant. Every visit is a genuine pleasure because to the welcoming atmosphere and the attentive employees. For appetisers, we got mix grill and fish tikka, both of which were delicious. The waiter advised we try the Lahori Lamb Karahi, which is lamb on the bone, and it was fantastic. The curry had fresh ginger and coriander on top, which brought out the flavour of the karahi. And also we ordered Sindhi chicken biryani which was tasty as well . Very nice place and delicious and fresh food.

One of the best Pakistani/Indian restaurants me and my husband have been to. They were so accommodating & friendly. The complementary popadoms & curry sauce were a nice touch to the service. Not overly spiced and cooked to perfection.

I've been in for dinner with my family though we will enjoy but don't understand where to start from first they give us a round table, after 10min the guy come and said this table is reserved for someone else and take us to another table did same thing to another 2 customer's while we were there. After that, after 15 minutes, I get up and call the guy to give an order for food. It takes 45 minutes to get the food on the table even that when I ask when our food gona comes, What to say about food half was nice and half wasn't cooked properly, we order grill pannier it was great, king prowans tikka was great and platter for 2 in this platter we had chicken kabab 2pcs of 2" very spicy 2pcs, lamb kabab 2" very spicy that 4pcs chicken tikka wasn't cooked properly, 2 pcs lamb chops under cooked can't even have bite it was that hard, Customer service was very poor that they don't bother about asking anything, really disappointed, won't recommend anyone to go there.

Poor poor poor what can I say looking forward to some indian food after a long drive back home we ordered 3 items waited more then 1 hour although the restaurant wasn’t full house food came after telling staff several times I strongly recommend if you have hours to waste come and sit here for terrible food

The food was tasty but the service not as friendly I expected it to be. Although the restaurant was not too busy we were rushed into ordering. Non licensed place so there was no alcohol and neither one could bring there own as used to be in the past. Asked for tap water and that was refused as they only served bottled water or other beverages.

Good place for Indian food but very hot doesn't means all with chilli flakes. Hope they will improve coz I ordered take away before it was very good and so dine in there and it was average and in person the same food with same option very hot was all with chilli flakes .

I ordered nihari, biryani, kebab, faluda, naan it was average I dine in there. Before I ordered from uber eats and I choose biryani very hot and I turned out to be moderate spicy but while dine in i choosed very hot too but nihari and biryani both was all with chilli flakes only very very spicy and with the taste of chilli flakes. Lastly popdoms free tho water with charge its 4.90 for 1 ltr water I guess.

The best Indian restaurant in Cardiff. Great service, soo testy food and amazing place. Of course recommend to visit it. Mr Sohail is the best.

Owner behaviour is not at all good. He is not treating customers in well manner. Cannot tolerate such kind of behaviour. I won’t just that restaurant to any of my family members or friends.

Owner must treat consumers with respect. Too arrogant. Customer service might be better. Food and poor customer service are never a good Combination.

The food was ok. Chicken Kadai was OK. Nan exceeded expectations. I found myself in a very uncomfortable situation when prayer started inside the restaurant. I was next to the prayer area and could not understand what I should do. Was a bit confused for a few minutes. The staff is lovely. Helpful.

This place is an absolute disgrace on the name of indo pak cuisine. I ordered karahi and it was clearly not made to be a karahi because the red tinted oil (always present in food cooked long time ago) was very evident to the point where I had to scoop it out. I do not suggest any one to eat here, especially if you have an ounce of self-respect. A very disrespectful place.

Great food at reasonable prices and good service with pleasant staff

I am Indian and I couldn’t have had worse Indian food. We ordered a lot because I was craving Indian and wanted to try a new restaurant, but it was terrible and way too overpriced for the taste. There are other much better places for Indian cuisine in Cardiff. Not worth a second visit.

Mediocre at best and well overpriced for what you get. Sadly it wasn't as good as I had expected. Besides the tired decor the food was overpriced and not particularly amazing if i am honest. The butter chicken did not taste like butter chicken ( i have had many) , nor did the tikka masala tbh. It was ok but not worth the money we paid - literally just me and my 14 year old had a main meal and a drink each. The curries were £12.50 each and the drinks around £4.50 each. The sides were about the same as the drinks. I also ordered a takeaway for my son, again a main and a side ( 1 naan at £2.20 each) and it came to £54. To top it off we were told when i asked for some table water, they didn't do table water and they only sold bottles of water instead. I was stunned. Never been refused table water at any restaurant anywhere before! I doubt we will be back in a hurry if I am honest.

Lamb Karahi- on bone ,is the go to dish !

One of the best places on city road to eat, infact my favourite. The meat is always grilled to perfection and so tender, the food is incredibly tasty. The fish is really lovely and the curries are always spiced just right. A really good place to go for iftar too in Ramadan, it's a wonderful buffet selection of different flavours. You won't be disappointed by paying a visit here.

Went for Ramadan special buffet , food was OK not something special, there was only 2 main dish Lamb karahi and chicken Jalfrezi, paneer masala side dish and nan bread and chickpeas rice . And there was only chicken wings sheek kebab , fish pakora and aloo bora or something, and I paid £22.90 for per person which wasn't worth it for the kind of food was offered. Also the service level 0. Chair was dirty nobody cared and bothered to clean it . I would never go there again or recommend anyone.

My wife and I took my father in law here recently on the recommendation of a colleague. The food was lovely and very generous (we only needed a platter for 2 between the three of us). There was a bit of a wait for food due to a technical issue in the kitchen, but without us even having to say anything the staff were quick to make it up to us.

Best pakistan food restaurant in Cardiff

Not a welcoming place at all. There’s one female server that looks like shrek and was very rude. She was walking by and I was gonna ask her for something so I said excuse me, she looked at us, ignored us, without saying a word and then I had to ask someone else. Not a single smile on any of their faces, as if they were forced to work there. Food took longer than 1 hour to arrive at our table. It wasn’t even busy. Portions are very small for the prices you pay. Literally 8 pieces of lamb in there . Even if this was the only place open in Cardiff , I wouldn’t go at all. Not worth the embarrassment in front of your friends are family.

Since the last 3 times the food has been very poor in terms of quality. There is too much oil in all the dishes with least taste.

This is the best indian/Pakistani restaurant you can find. It has been many years that we come here, i never regret coming here. You can have it mild or spicy. I tried many different foods here and one is better than the other one. Best customer service.

My experience was not great. Not great at all. Terrible, in fact. When we walked in we were greeted by a guy on his phone to the side who didn't even look up and another who came straight away and asked "a table for how many", yet we made a reservation (which now didn't even seem necessary as we shouldn't have even bothered to go there) and then we said he had a reservation and he realised that we had, due to a scrap piece of paper on the table. The interior was so fake, it clearly wasn't a "fine dining" place, even though the prices suggested otherwise. If you see the menu, you'll see for yourself that the prices are WAY too extortionate for what they are. There was grease and old bits of food on the menus that were so off-putting. It was abhorrent, clearly we made the wrong decision. We were given a plate of popodoms and sauces (mango, chilli, mint , and onion pickle) which were thrown into the table, as if we were interrupting something important. Furthermore, when asking for simple tap water, we were delighted to be told there wasn't any. Any restaurant should have this for their customers. Furthermore, we expected, to say the least, new plates after the popodoms but alas, it was not the case. Upon receiving food, the curry was cold, salty and tiny for how much we paid, £14 for it! We had a look at the menu because we thought the platter for 2 was more than the mix grill yet the only difference was apparently the chips and £5! How can you pay £5 extra for a plate of oily, overcooked chips where most of them were too hard to eat. There was no butter on the naan and if we asked about it, the rude waiter may have said it was £5 extra for it! The biryani wasn't authentic, it tasted like a curry mixed into plain rice and that wasn't good at all. To top that, it was really greasy. Finally, we asked to take some food away and the response was, we were given two containers with a "Here you go" and he walked off. That was so rude, it seemed like they were more interested in their phones than our custom. I would never go there again, not even as a last resort. We decided to try something new and this is the case. I advise you, do not even think of going here. It isn't the sort of place that one should expect anything to be nice.

Love the biriyani and chicken. The welcome papad and chutneys are my favorite. Their mango chutney is the best.

Disappointingly, what arrived had around six tiny lumps of lamb literally no bigger than a 1 pence piece, in a fairly insipid sauce forming a lumpy broth - not one actual sizeable piece of lamb in it - and accompanied by a medium sized naan (most of the naans cost over £5). When the meat is that small and unrecognisable it raises questions around quality and provenance. I would not recommend this place to others, for value or quality.

The lamb biryani was awful, the meat samosas were stuffed with potatoes i could hardly see any meat and the white rice were really dry. However the lamb karahi was nice. I would not recommend this place.

Lovely food with fresh quality ingredients

It's called Mirchi yet the food was bland despite asking the food to be very hot. 2 dishes were send back as they weren't even medium hot, and even then they didn't get it right. We have been here before and the food was tasty but it seems to have gone downhill. I gave it 2 stars for the mix grill and the kids being on point. The beverages were astonishing (£4 for 1 litre bottle of water which is priced the same as a 1.5 litre bottle of Pepsi, 7UP). I will say the restaurant did assist with storing the birthday cake and allowed us to decorate the seating area but this is it, we had to ask the staff to clean up which took the 15 minutes to clean the tables. The music was depressing but the lighting did cheer the place up a little. To sum it up we won't be going back there again and perhaps stick with one or the restaurant chains.

One of the worst restaurants I have ate in, and its not like it was busy, the food was bland

It's alright. But time has taken its toll. The guy who waited on us was a bit rubbish. Kept on looking away when taking out order and another chap had to help. They are also so slow.

Very bad service and cold karahi we been serve after waiting 50 minutes of placing the order . And we ask for extra one roti after 15 minutes when we ask to another waiter he then said for the roti to tandoor person and then he start making it and we left the table with rest of karahi without eat because we need to travel our rest of journey 200 miles and it was already delayed in service and (rude) owner of the restaurant said if it wasn't in placed order I don't accept this because when you ask for extra roti which is not in your order we can't Provide that because extra roti takes 15-20 minutes . What stupid logic is this and we left the restaurant without eating and payed the bill owner was rude was swearing staff loudly even without thinking that there is families sitting. And Pakistani familes please avoid its indian taste you will not like it because we asked for spicy karahi and we get sweet which is there spices

Amazing restaurant, food dint take long to come which was good. Amazing meals. Only disappointment was too many flys around the table where we was eating than notice other table had the same issue, as eating kept pushing flys out the way was annoying.

Got food for takeaway. Warm welcome and good chat with owner. Got lamb karahi, chicken karahi and seekh kababs. Only naans were good, main dishes taste 5/10, wasn’t impressed at all. All of us have an upset stomach/diarrhoea the next day which has made me put a bad review here. Really disappointed.

Two stars because the staff were sort of friendly and because the mango shake was good. We ordered a platter for 2. The meat and rice were very dry. Never had dry rice like that. Meat was dry and tough. Also very very spicy apart from the lamb chops which were over cooked.
