Ming Garden in Peterborough

I only do 3-4 chinese takeaway a year as most of the times I'm disappointed in the quality.Yesterday my girl wanted chinese so we ordered.Collection was ready in 20 mins-peak time on Saturday And oh boy!I never had such a nice chinese!New chef maybe,new ingredients,better recepies or new supplier?I don't know.Everything was so fresh and nicely presented.Satay chicken on skewers had plenty of meat.Satay sauce definitely 'home made'- I could literally taste the coconut milk,peanuts,hint of chilli.My daughter had aromatic duck-beautifully cooked and perfectly sliced.Cucumber and spring onions were very fresh.I had king prawn in kung po sauce.Prawns were huge.Portions were big,plenty left over for next day.The only downside is this set my standard and I'd be very disappointed if not getting the same quality next time

Decent Chinese food, larger than average portions compared to other local outlets, great taste, fast service, good interaction with customers

The worst Chinese takeaway in Peterborough. Food never arrive after 2 hours chasing. Every phone call they said will be deliver in few minutes. After 2 hours they said they are too busy and food not cook yet. They refused to cancel my order and refund. I have to contact (datman) the online order company to deal with them.

I ordered food to go and ordered home delivery. Cooking is very fast. As for the delivery, I had my food delivered within 15 minutes of opening!!! The food arrived very hot (it's so fast). I am very pleased with the taste. It is incredibly tasty. The choice of dishes is great. You can find vegan, vegetarian and meat options. I highly recommend the Mixed Vegetable Fried Rice and Chicken in Plum Sauce. 4 dishes cost me £26 (2 portions of meat, rice and appetizers)

Omg what a disappointment. I've been having food from here for years.Last nights takeaway was awful. Chow mein was very dry & no flavour lacking in everything. Bbq ribs were ok.Pancake rolls were hollow & tasted reheated. It was far from how it used to be.Wont be going back anytime soon.

This place was so bad. My second time ordering and it was horrible. I called and asked for delivery. I waited over an hour and called back for the lady on the phone to say I had called for collection. Which was not true. I then had to wait another 45 mins for my food to come. When it came it was cold. I called to complain and they kept saying it was fault and there was nothing they can do about it. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. I am just looking for a good Chinese place to order from. That is all.

My husband and I order takeaways from different takeaways around Peterborough every friday and Saturday, so have experienced all sorts of delivery drivers. However, the 2 delivery drivers at Ming Garden are definitely the best! They are always quick at finding my flat and are very respectful and talkative. Their customer service is outstanding. Keep up the good work lads! Will be ordering more often. Debs x

Ordered from here on Monday I think they have a new lady on the phone who took our order with some difficulty. Delivery took over 2 hours and the driver was rude when her turned up.

I ordered a Singapore Chow Mein and Sweet & Sour Sauce on 1st feb for collection from Ming Garden. Really friendly lady on the front desk. Food was lovely, plenty of meat in the chow mein, which you dont always get from other chinese restaurants in the area- my new favourite chinese.

Probably the worse Chinese in Peterborough...beef chow mein was so dry it was difficult to eat it plus seriously lacked flavour ..beef fried rice literally had no flavour at all...why are the Chinese takeaways still using plastic tubs? They need to help cut plastic down and use the tin containers like they use too

Used to be really good years ago. Since new owners rapidly going down hill. Ordered last night, was shocked at the price but went ahead. Hardly any meat and we both have dodgy stomachs today.

Food is 5 stars but prices have gone up crazy amounts £7 for 4 small spare ribs and over £6for chow mein a joke will soon have to remortgage house just to afford a Chinese

They have a terrible customer service, they hang of the phone in your face and don't agree to make deliveries unless you spend a lot of money which is unfair because you already pay for the delivery anyway.And the quality of the food has gotten worse lately.

Not regarding to anyone. Order food today at 4.30 . Order come complete wrong. I contacted them they said that will redeliver my food . Is allredy 8 PM and still starving. This cheeky b..... Refused to pay me back my money when I said I don't want food anymore . They said they will give me a portion of spring rolls as compensation 😂🤣. So stick this £20 in b.... Not order there anymore

Awful service, they opened for delivery at 5.30 we ordered at 5.40 and received it at 7.40! Ordered via just eat the time said 30-45mins we usually use these guys but the woman was rudely explaining there was only one driver, then said she needed to check with the chef and asked if we could wait another half an hour! This was after over an hours wait. I explained to say why didn’t she call and explain it rather than leaving it and why wasn’t the food already cooked if it was the drivers issue! Won’t be going back the food wasn’t great this time either.

Food was dry and horrendous. My partner phone called them to complain and they hung up on her, then called us back 20 minutes later to have ago at us for telling them we disliked the food as it was dry and plain. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Avoid if you can.

I first went to Ming garden 35 years a go and was the only chinese takeaway I would use for 10 years until I moved away for several years...To my surprise Ming garden was still going,I just had to try the takeaway out again and it tasted fresh like it use to.This really is the best Chinese takeaway in peterborough,very friendly staff and great food...Highly recommended

The food is very good. The service is great and the woman who serves is very friendly and attentive... but... it is difficult to find a place more dirty, neglected, decadent and abandoned than this one. There is not a single place you can look and not see abandonment and dirt. Ceilings, walls, glass, door and window...the counter 🤦🏻‍♀️ doesn't look like it has been cleaned a single day since it was inaugurated. It's decadent.

Ordered online in advance, selected the time slot and it arrived promptly; never used this Chinese takeaway before. Couldn't fault it, pleasantly surprised. Obviously home made sauces, fresh, not greasy; 10/10. Will definitely use time and time again.

Absolutely terrible asked for salt and pepper chicken on the bone (chicken wings) they give us some old dry battered chicken breast rang up a little while later when we found the order to be wrong the man who answered was rude and patronising calling my girlfriend mate and saying that is what you ordered that's what you get and saying they don't have chicken on the bone (at the time of ordering we wasn't sure if it was chicken wings or leg or thigh) while waiting for the food we looked again at the menu it was wings so we were expecting wings to come with our order since we asked for chicken on the bone (what's chickenwings if its not chicken on the bone) , if we asked for dry crispy chicken in some weird batter than I wouldn't of rang to complain and wouldn't waste my time writing this review he couldn't take it that he has made a mistake and taking out on my girlfriend, 15 years she has been going there well thanks to this rude little man we will no longer be using ming garden in the future. If he didn't understand what my girlfriend asked for he should of said instead of giving us any random chicken dish which we have never even asked for. Not sure if it's under new management / ownership but it has definitely gone downhill

Used this Chinese for few years now but tonight food was cold half order was missing phoned to complain was told driver would come back with refund but guess what no show will not use again.

I loved it. I had the chicken balls egg fried rice, beef chow and spring rolls. Not were I normally order from but I have now changed that desion this is my NO1 saved ther number. Nothing was greasy eg chicken balls, spring rolls, rice, or the prawn crackers. Love it. Best iv haved in Peterborough time was half hour on the dot. Definitely going to order agen

Used Ming garden for the second and have been impressed on both occasions. It is cash only though so be prepared as the nearby cash machine charges.

This evening I ordered two simple dishes.1) king prawn chow mein and 2) sweet and sour ribs.I collected and traveled home. Firstly the Chow mein was not king prawn but a mix !Secondly the ribs were all chopped up and very grisly they were terrible.Not again !

Awful food and the delivery driver drove all over my newly laid front hedge and he was speeding to get away, avoid this place. No sorry or anything he just sped off after seeing if he had damaged his car.

Fantastic freshly cooked hot food , under new ownership, they have definitely got the recipe right after settling in , all dishes were great fresh tasty and top quality, great friendly service was a bit dubious but totally nailed it would definitely recommend

After waiting for nearly 2 hours for our food and spending over £50, it turned up. The kids curries were inedible, tasted like raw curry powder, the chips were cold, dry and once again inedible. The chicken dishes were okay but cold. Really disappointed on this occasion, more food in bin than in stomache! On a positive my grandson enjoyed his duck dish.

Used to use them regular, wont be using now , since change of owner, chips way overcooked, curry runny, singapore noodles too much chilli, used to be brilliant , now gives me a bad stomach, and headache.

Omg has been sold and now under new ownership, decided to give it a go after speaking to existing delivery driver from previous owners , tbf they had just taken over so will reavaluate again in a few weeks but it did fall short from previous experience, crispy shredded beef wasn’t as good tbf

For a Chinese Takeaway, there is no complaints to be made, the food is tasty, filling and affordable, personally I prefer their £5.20 deals.The people are very pleasent and clearly a family run buisness, as often their child will be playing either side of the counter.Did not give 5 star however because I do live near by and I know the backstreets behind the take away is shared ammoungst the other take aways and the conditions are not great.I am sure the owners keep their kitchen clean, as it is clear they do put effort into their takeaway and it never looks messy. Just slightly worried about surrounding takeaway's messes.

This bunch should open a sit-down restaurant, their food is delightful. I would highly recommend anything from Ming Garden with prawns, they cook them very well, the timing is impeccable, perfectly cooked every time. The salt & pepper prawn, or squid are especially delightful, the egg fried rice can vary in style dependant on which cook which night, but all are good well cooked offerings.We’ve had so many dishes from here, the curries are tasty, all sorts. Wife and I had the best Chinese we ever had in Peterborough last night. Everything was amazing. Curried duck was top class as was the Singapore noodles and the sweet chilli chicken. The salt and pepper chilli prawns were top class too. It was just the best Chinese we ever had in Peterborough! We will be ordering again

Best I have found in town so far but I have to admit that the standard of Chinese food in this part of the uk is not very high but ming garden is the best in town by far

The other half and I have agreed this is our go to takeout. The seafood platter is amazing plus the salt and pepper spateribs. A little more expensive than most, but definitely worth paying for the quality food and service

Food was greasy. The chicken tasted odd. Beef was full of fat. Chips were uncooked. I couldn't eat it. Night without dinner. Will not come back !

I lived in Hong Kong for 6 yearsand have travelled extensively in Singapore and all over malaysia. I have eaten Chinese food in coolie stalls and street markets, so I know what chinese food should be like.

Cracking takeaway.... Never had a bad one. In my opinion, the best in Pboro.

Today I have something to say,I am Ming garden regular customer,they are doing very well,the kitchen looks very tidy , i trust them,i dont trust someone who close the door and then cook your food,and you don't know what happened inside,Ming garden can close the door ,but they Leave the door open, the other reason I trust them is the lady and the kids and the staff there they eat the same food like Chow mian,chicken balls ,beef ,rice ,,,and so on,they eat so I trust,personally speaking ,their food is great and pefect,,i do really like their food,the only problem is the shop is over 40years old , maybe​ some facility is old , that's is why they got 2star, I believe they Will do better and will get more stars after they fix the wall,if you are Ming garden regular customer ,please trust your feeling,trust yourself ,trust Ming garden! thank you!

Hi since being taken over this could well be the best Chinese takeaway in Peterborough I used to use for many years but it rapidly went downhill after a change of ownership but now it's the best it's ever been spotless inside food fresh hot and quickly prepared nice friendly staff taking your ordered well worth a try, I travel 5+ miles defo worth it well done Ming garden
