Miller and Carter in Adur

Firstly just wanted to say this review has no reflect on the staff . Very accommodating as we arrived early and waitress very polite . Food on the other hand was terrible . Calamari was rubbery and batter was undercooked , hallumi fries were freezing cold and hard like they had been reheated a couple Of times and then sitting for ages and and chateaubriand was so over cooked I’ve never seen anything like this in all the miller and carters I’ve been too. I really wanted to send this back but tables around us was already doing that and it was so late with the little one I had no choice but to just smile and tell him it was fine just so he would have some food and we could leave . It was that bad we never even stayed for dessert. £150 wasted . I’d rather have gone home and had beans on toast. Not the level expected from Miller and Carter

Reasonable food, good service and poor layout, you feel tightly packed in with tables and benches too close together, preferred the old more cosy layout, as for the toilets I can only imagine the designer shouted "@#*%" when they realised they had forgotten them and squeezed them in last minute. Edit, been back today (April 2024)and everything said above still stands

Excellent service as usual,staff were friendly and courteous,the meal was as good as always, improvements nothing at all keep it up.and thank you all at the lancing restaurant.

We arrived for drinks before our table. Josh on the bar helped served us and was friendly and accommodating. Caitlan or waitress was amazing. She is explained every dish to us and helped us with all our needs and questions. Another amazing visit ! Thank you miller and Carter lancing as always!!

Absolutely delicious!! We had a great evening here, the service was lovely from Abi, and the food was 10/10. Always my boyfriend’s favourite place to come for dinner!! Also tried the special cocktail called “millers Velvet Martini” and this was honestly one of the best drinks I’ve ever had!!!

Got to say this is my best miller and carter loved every minute of it of it. The food and service was amazing from Paula. Also I got to see the lovely flo who I used to work with a long time ago. 5/5

I'm a lover of eating out, and enjoy eating good food with friends or family. Steak is always one of my favourite dishes and these guys no what they are doing when it comes to steak, sauces and wine. The red wine used for the jue absolutely amazing taste. Steak 10 out of 10. Looking foward to my next visit. Service with a smile, polite, attentive. Big thanks to the team

We came here as a party of 8 for my son’s birthday and the whole evening was perfect. The staff were really friendly, Heidi was our server and she was so lovely. The food was 10/10 and my son said it was the best steak he’s ever had. With his special dessert too he was a very happy birthday boy. It’s not the cheapest meal when you go for steak but the food was just wonderful. Only critic was some of the party had seasoned fries which they said were bland and dry. The chunky ones were lovely tho.

Fluer was absolutely fantastic tonight. Made me and my partner feel really welcome. 100% recommend!!!

We came here this evening for my nieces 10th birthday. Great food and service. Godfrey was amazing. While we were waiting for our food he noticed our little 10 month old and offered to get us a strawberry while we waited. He went to the effort of cutting it in to small pieces for him. Thank you so much Godfrey.

Rib-eye steak was amazing and so was everything else, the service was friendly and we all had a great time. I will be happy to go there again. Went there again tonight, approx 4 months after our last visit and it didn't disappoint, juicy juicy rib-eye, yum yum.

Nice place for older people, apparently. Nice food, not cheap. Part of the M&B empire along with Harvester, Stonehouse, Toby etc. On Monday lunchtime it was actually quite busy!

I visited the restaurant with two friends at the recommendation of one of my friends, who regularly visits this restaurant with her family. She specifically selected it as our other friend has mobility issues and needed to be able to park in an accessible parking space and access the restaurant, our table and the toilet with ease, as well as have a comfortable seat. All of these requirements were fulfilled, so our friend was delighted. However, the best aspects of our lunch out was the delicious food (we selected from the excellent value fixed price menu) and the impeccable service provided by lovely Caren, our waitress. Caren was warm, friendly, efficient and attentive. The restaurant was busy, but Caren remained calm and unflustered and made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. I have dietary restrictions, but I was mostly able to select food that I could eat. The only thing I would suggest is that it would be nice to have a lower calorie/healthier/dairy-free option available, such as fruit salad, but fruit salad is rarely available these days. To be able to have the included fixed price mini dessert and coffee, rather than just coffee on its own, which would have worked out to be more expensive, I had to choose something I couldn’t eat and give it to my friend. She certainly didn’t mind though! We later discovered that Caren was celebrating her 20th anniversary as an employee at the restaurant, and were delighted to see her being recognised by her team with a little presentation of gifts and flowers and photos. It’s always lovely to see team members being appreciated by their colleagues, as the care they receive impacts on the care they provide their customers. In this case we couldn’t fault the care and attention we received from Caren. She’s a genuinely lovely person who cares about her customers, which we appreciated. We had driven down from South London, and it was truly worth it to have such a lovely and positive lunch experience. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you team. Caren is an asset to your restaurant! 😁

Really really enjoyed our meal here we had a set menu meal and wine and only cost £80 for 4 amazing value. Bee had the most infectious smile and a brilliant way of greeting customers. Will definitely be back

Food was great, two bad points, toilets were not very clean and we were sat in what seemed like a corridor with a continual stream of other customers coming and going while we were trying to enjoy our meal, waitresses was very inconsistent, but this may have been down to a change of shift mid meal.

Best Restaurant ever ! Managers Ladies are amazing , super friendly always helpful, making you feel like a real family ! Recently we have been serve by Lily and she it's amazing , fast , kind and shocking good memory server ! She was delivery briliant service ! Thank you Miller and Carter to be our second home ! Xxx

Service and food very good, some desert items missing from menu, however our waitress apologised and told us what was missing. Our starters and mains were very tasty and I would visit again.

I have dined at a few miller and carters and this one was no better or worse than the others. It gets a bit boring after a while but the steaks are good. Personally I feel that it is overpriced.

Always consistently good food, the waiting staff are a delight. Floriane, Caren, Paula and Louise always make us feel very special.. exceptional people skills.

What a fabulous evening we had at M&C in Lancing., The team couldn't have been anymore accommodating, which was so appreciated. Food was scrumptious as was the service. My usually fussy 8 year old even had the 'best steak ever!' For a large chain, M&C really do understand their customer - would highly recommend!

I couldn't think of anything to improve, it was our first time at miller and carter the service was so good and the waitress was very good at helping us pick the right steak for us considering we've never been there before.

Another visit to one of my favourite places to eat, service always good, relaxed and calm while eating and drinking. There is something special about the Lancing restaurant that the Brighton one is lacking so, full marks.

Good atmosphere with very good steak,especially as I am not a lover of steak. Starter was a bit overpriced for amount that I got. Service was a little slow but they were busy( weekend before Valentines). Not the cheapest of meals but steak isn't cheap.

On arrival we asked if a chair could be changed which seemed a bit of a problem however my son stepped in and moved it, apart from that ever was perfect

It was my wife’s birthday and she had received a voucher for a free glass of Prosecco or an alcohol free cocktail for up to 6 people. We chose our alcohol free cocktails. Waitress replied only one type of cocktail is available and went to find out which one. She came back and said which one was available. We ordered. She came back and said sorry but we have to order from the mocktails list and not the alcohol free cocktail list. No idea what the difference is. Bearing in mind if we order the cocktails we cannot order from the set menu, only the main menu. We decided to forget the cocktails and have lime/soda and ordered from the set menu. If you are going to offer a voucher, please make it simple and not have us customers having to adhere to too many rules! The food was excellent as well as our waitress.

We ordered medium it came medium rare almost rare, and could have been hotter. But I would certainly go again. The meat was really tender and full of taste. Great atmosphere and service.

We love M&C. Steaks are cooked to perfection and the lettuce wedge is so refreshing. Always a nice atmosphere. Staff are lovely. Just a tad overpriced!

When food is to this standard (and price) you can only comment on the minor things as everything is exceptional; my minor thing is there could have been more than a dozen small mushrooms on the starter. Service From Melissa.C was good, she asked all the right questions at the right time throughout the meal. Food is always cooked perfectly. It is what I expect from Miller & Carter, they never disappoint. Well done everyone!

When she found out it was my birthday, she went to the extra effort of having a happy birthday message put on my plate which was a lovely surprise.
