Food was ok but a bit bland and when we added up how much we had spent was a lot for not a lot Better tapas places locally but not bad, just average

The hole experience was terrible food cold meatballs looked of and tasteless mushrooms of hairs in food toilets dirty rude staff all on phones Pudding was stale best bit was the drink never had such bad food waste of money avoid dirty restaurant don't think been cleaned in years

We were a mother and daughter on a day trip to Huddersfield and decided to try this restaurant. We went on a Thursday lunchtime. It wasn’t busy but it deserves to be! Tapas selection was excellent and our selection was well cooked and nicely presented. We chose three each, with one portion of bread, which was just right for lunch. The service was friendly and efficient and we felt valued as customers. If we lived locally, we would have no hesitation in going back.

Went here for a birthday meal. There were 7 of us at the table so we ordered quite a lot of dishes! A few of the dishes we ordered never arrived and were replaced with ones we didn’t order. But everything looked nice so we didn’t make a fuss. The food was ok, some dishes nicer than others. The main problem was the staff. They were constantly approaching the table, interrupting conversations asking for empty cups/glasses/plates. I appreciate attentive service but this was literally every 5 minutes. Sometimes they wouldn’t even ask and would start picking up plates/glasses that weren’t even empty and we were having to ask them to put them back!! 4 people at the table ordered a bottle of peroni each and when they ordered a second round were told they had run out. They also didn’t have most of the desserts left which was a bit disappointing. It was clear by about 9.30 (table booked for 8) that they wanted us out. For our last round of drinks we were brought bottles of beer but no glasses as they had all been collected (clearly they didn’t want anymore washing up). The bill came, we paid and 10 minutes later were presented with a further bill as they had apparently forgotten to charge us for some things. All very strange, disorganised and not the relaxing meal we were hoping for.

We visited this amazing gem of a restaurant and really enjoyed a family Tapas meal. Very tasty well presented selection of food. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Certainly worth a visit.

We went on Saturday night and really enjoyed the live music- the guy who was playing the guitar is a real talent and was the best part of our experience that night. I think the restaurant should make more efforts though to make a better arrangement for the musician - some kind of central stage where everyone could hear and see him. The food was very average and quite overpriced though, hence 3 star.

Great restaurant, accommodated a table of 10 for us. Good atmosphere and nicely furnished restaurant, good food with friendly staff and great value pricing. Would definitely recommend!

Dreadful. We came here after my husband had been previously and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the experience wasn’t the same. The food was cold and completely tasteless. We spoke to the waitress who took some of the good back to be microwaved and told the chef had sprinkled some paprika on it for flavour! We were left with the remaining food cold and no suggestion of a solution. The manager avoided us. Will never return

Was so looking forward to trying Maison La Pepa after hearing and reading great things. It was just ok, but we wouldn’t rush back. Whilst the tapas were tasty, they could and should have been warmer. The service was fine though and we did leave a tip for the servers. So wanted to like this place, but it just felt bang average which is a shame.

As tapas and Spain enthusiasts we had hoped for good enough but surpassed expectations. Generous well presented anchoa and bread with tomatoes and ailoli our favourites. Central location within walking distance of concert in the Town Hall. Clean and pleasantly decorated with very friendly attentive young staff. Good quality tapas served hot and quite quickly. Limited specials. Desserts nicely presented and only on specials board. Sadly tiramisu sold out but a good excuse to revisit. Building seems like a former bank and it’s quite a trek to the loo but worth it to visit interesting decorations. £70 for including wine, soft drinks for 4.

Went here on a Saturday night (25th March) with my wife and we loved it. Got some olives....seafood salad and chorizo pate to start as we waited for our 6 tapas dishes we shared.....the staff were attentive and quick and the food was superb. £65 for all this food plus a wine and a beer. Great value too with vibrant atmosphere and live music in background....can't wait to return

We ate there yesterday evening. Good atmosphere, staff professional. Food was excellent, everything delicious. We decided to spoil ourselves with dessert - a very generous piece of white chocolate cheesecake with all sorts of other delights accompanying it. Very nice to get a reduced bill due to the offer, but the food here is well worth the full price anytime.

We had a couple of takeaways during lockdown which were great but were pleased we could visit once again and luckily the seafood specials were on.The soft shell crab and oysters were indeed special in a good way and for once we saved room to share puds. The churros and ice cream finished the meal off nicely for us and the kids. Will be returning.

We have been a few times before and had a fantastic meal that was very authentic to our trips around Spain. Our last visit however was disappointing. Food was quite poor and not authentic, don’t have the cocktail as it was terrible. Atmosphere was still good and the live music was a nice touch, just a shame about the food.

I thought I needed to write a review for this restaurant as I just had a takeout service and it was delicious. The food came well presented, hot and good portion sizes and I couldn’t fault it. I have eaten in the restaurant a few times before and have always been pleased with the food and service and they usually have a man playing live guitar on a Saturday night, which is a lovely touch. I wondered if the takeout would be as good, but it definitely was. Personally I can’t remember having better tapas than this. I’ll definitely be back again.

We came here for my fiancee's birthday in early March and as always, the food was great, portions were ample and the atmosphere was lovely. We had a large party, were well accommodated and we all received our food at the same time. Our drinks were kept topped up and everyone really enjoyed it. My fiancee and I are vegetarian and we were well catered for . Our carnivore friends were likewise impressed with the menu choices and the food itself :)We've visited on numerous occasions now and have never been disappointed.

I recently visited here with my family, on first impressions I thought it all looked ok. This was until I saw the staff hanging around the front door going for cigarettes at then coming to our table to take out order absolutely stinking. We placed our drinks order and they managed to get that wrong. We then ordered the food and had a very long wait for it, I wouldn’t have minded if it was worth the wait. It’s was terrible, and as a result the whole family ended up with food poisoning! I raised my concerns at the time with the owner and he was very rude. We will not be returning and I advise you to keep away!

We came across Meson La Pepa on the off chance a few years ago as we fancied tapas and after a google search of the area found that the other restaurant offering tapas was fully booked. Lucky for us! This small tucked away restaurant is a hidden gem! I have lost count of the amount of times we have been and we have never had a bad meal. It is fantastic and the owner is lovely and always welcoming. Highly recommend!

Have visited Meson La Pepa many times, and it never fails to disappoint. The owner is always friendly and polite, and the food is just amazing. Look forward to visiting this authentic tapas restaurant again soon!

Came over to Huddersfield for a night out and visited Meson la Pepa. Ordered four dish between 2 of us which was more than enough. All the dishes were lovely but for me the cod in tomato sauce was the star of the show. The Chardonnay wine was very nice and not over priced. The staff are very helpful and even had a spare pair of glasses so I could read the menu. I hope to go again when I’m next in town.

The best way to spend Xmas Day was with unlimited Tapas and Sangria. We managed to sample 11 delicious dishes between us and they were all outstanding. One of our favourite places to visit in Huddersfield and we had a lovely Xmas Day

Nice food definitely worth trying, good tapas , bit slow with bringing drinks although it was busy so that could have been the reason, wasnt keen on the rose sangria looked more like white sangria to me but they said it was rose although it was white with no hint of pink and too much fruit in the glass so hardly any drink in the glass..

Been a while since our last visit but still the same excellent atmosphere, service and food. All the tapas we picked was excellent and packed with flavour, the seafood paella packed with seafood and flavour.

We called yesterday the 8th November and having dined a couple of times before - was once again a perfect experience . The mixed Paella is simply amazing. Having a Spanish father and living in Spain for a number of years, having eaten at some of the best restaurants I feel more than qualified to offer my opinion

The food here really is amazing. The menu is huge and so is the specials menu that changes regularly, so you could have something new on each visit. We always have the Chorizo pate bread to start with as it is really delicious. We loved the Black Paella, which was full of delicious seafood and the most tender pieces of Octopus we have ever tried, and the Spanish Black Pudding, which was flavoured with Chorizo and Sweet Chilli Jam. The desserts are not to be missed and on this occasion we tried the Salted Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake. The cocktails are also great especially the jugs of Sangria. The service is also outstanding and we always receive a friendly welcome- we absolutely love this place!
