Update your opening hours twice I've taken dinner break at work and you've been shut leaving me with nothing to eat. Should say online if you are closed. What a joke!

Food rubbish, told by proprietor that I'd have to pay extra for card payment, very poor fish, very soggy and boney at least the chips were proper potatoes and not frozen ones. Defo won't be visiting again.

Great place, great food I have to say it and very friendly.

Chicken kebab was fantastic. Fish and chips really good too.

This is now called the Istanbul takeaway. It serves fish and chips, pizza, kebabs etc. We were visiting Melrose and asked a local to recommend a takeaway and we were sent here. Cooked fresh to order, this was the best fish supper I had eaten in a long time. Delicious!

2 fish suppers last night. Alarm bells should’ve rang as the fish was very smelly in the car on route home. Both hubby and son suffered dodgy stomachs after consumption. I phoned them to make them aware that the fish they were using was obviously not fresh, purely to avoid anyone else getting ill but all they said was...it’s fresh.Won’t be back......

Been a few times slow tonight despite being only 1 of 3 customers in shop,no visible cv19 precaution plus a female was served hanging half way ovr counter with a mask in her hand So safety very lax also they appeared to me to b missing on there usual pre cv19 standards

I can't say this was a good experience at all, I didn't receive all of the items that were supposed to be in my snack box, all super-greasy and not very nice, it's actually the 2nd time I've been, thought maybe I'd give them another go, but wasn't a good idea.

Seems to be under new management, we had a Calzone and Pizza. Both were ok, nothing spectacular, service was quick and polite.

Delivery driver dropped off the wrong order. I called up and managed to resolve the issue. The driver has came to pick up the meal he gave me, to go collect mine from another person to swap them around.

Lovely food . Kebab was amazing . Ordered fritters for a change mixed but yummy

I waited over 2 hours for my order. I didn’t even get the right juice with my order and not once did the restaurant ask me if I wanted a substitute as they would of found out I don’t like what they offered! They gave the driver a Fanta juice and not a coke juice, I asked for a chicken wrap with chilli sauce and specifically asked for the salad to be cabbage, tomato & cucumber knowing I can’t have onions. I did specify that there should be NO onions at all on the wrap but when received onion was clearly visible! I had to open the whole wrap up and take it all out! The kebab I had with the order had burnt chicken inside and my partner couldn’t eat it. I placed order approx 6.30pm and I didn’t receive my food until 9pm !! After all the good orders I’ve had from these I am really disappointed in this one!

Food took 2 hours plus, food was disgusting and stone cold, I never got my bottle of juice I ordered, wouldn’t recommend to anyone, will not be back

Was given the wrong juice and wasn't cold but I imagine they ran out of the one I wanted. Food was good but the chicken on the pizza tasted bitter somehow, but was still a good meal 👍

The food was freezing cold when it arrived, the owner of the chippy called me and was shouting down the phone telling me he was outside so I went to try make the delivery easier for them by standing outside so the address was found easier. Then waited 10 minutes in the freezing cold for nobody to arrive. The food was disgusting and greasy

Order was late and only half order was delivered. Girl on phone was very apologetic, but the rest of the order came over half an hour later with my flavour of ice cream different to what was ordered. The hot food was lovely but overall wasnt a very good order process or delivery.

Ordered at 6.45, given delivery time of 7.35 only to get text around 7,00 to say (surprise, surprise), yet again meal was being delayed. Finally arrived after 8.00. That's the last three times, I've ordered, been given a delivery time only for them to change after accepting payment. They take your money knowing that their delivery times are bull, Just Eat should sanction establishments that cheat their customers and constantly break their contracted agreements

Second time in a row now our order has been exceptionally late, very disappointing.

Almost 2 hours to deliver. Cold, burger was rock hard, chips were soggy. At least the juice was warm. Messaged them to discuss no reply. Contacted scoffable website to ask for refund. The food was "freah and acceptable" apparently.

Worst fish and chips I've ever had the misfortune to eat!!

Chips and battered mushrooms were greasy as there was a wee pool of grease in the mushroom box. Partner had baked potato it was rock hard inside then found a hair in beside the filling she had. To top it all off i was sick afterwards having this. Will not be back ever even if it was last chippie left in borders.

The place need a deep clean all surfaces were greasy the floor was sticky and grimy. Definitely 0 for food and hygiene. Left before ordering but the food on the hot plates were greasy and unappetising.

"Worst Sausage and chips ever" Chips under cooked and the oil smelt that it should have been changed before frying.Strange taste had 2 chips and binned!. Don't bother :-(

Great wee chippy with a fantastic choice off meals would highly recommend great prices and very clean very happy customer.

I personally won't be back, one of the king ribs we got still had raw batter and was cold in the middle as it hadn't cooked properly. If we hadn't drove away before we started to eat it I would have took it back. The service its self was chaotic, as one poor girl was trying her hardest to sort all the delivery orders and shop ones while a guy ran in chaos about her. As we were waiting they said it would be a while since they would cook one fresh, but in there hurry to complete orders they didnt check that it was cooked thoroughly. The chips seemed ok, but left your mouth and hands coated in a film of grease. I'd not recommend this place, if I could award no stars I would have.

Like other poor reviews have said, the standard of food is well below expectation from a quality fast food fish n chip shop. The kebab was thrown together with salad and chillies, the chips were tough and tasteless, the fish ok but the batter greasy greasy greasy ... all in all YUK

I placed an order & the woman called me to say it would be delivered at 10:30, the order never arrived, avoid this place if you can help it, it's worse than Crollas which is saying something.

Two unwell kids after having chippy tea would not recommend probably worst chippy ever

Food was disgusting and cold, ordered a chippy pizza, and was instead given a burnt tomato base with a sprinkle of cheese and a handful of undercooked chips, with overly vinegary brown sauce. All that could be tasted was cold tomato puree, majorly disappointed. Second order was a chicken bacon and cheese wrap which is certainly not worth the price for the amount of money you charge! Tasted okay, far too much tin foil wrapping, looks rather big but once open it's not worth the price.

Ordered pizza, arrived base as thick as a scone and raw, possibly the worst pizza ive tasted.

We called in here on Saturday evening, 10/11/18 for fish n chips. We were not dissapointed, we had one portion between us and it was lovely,no complaints what so ever. would definetaly go here again. Well done all we thoroughly enjoyed our tea,

By far the WORST meal ive ordered from any takeaway ...if I could click no stars I would!!! Was very DISGUSTED with the way one staff member spoke to me when I called to make a complaint regarding the delivery time ( which was 2 hours 20 mins btw) and the fact that the fries portion was ridiculously small for the price and were extremely soggy and my daughter's kids meal looked as though the chips had been refried 3 times and left to sit for hours ... seriously!! They were dark brown and were also soggy and tasted foul. but most of all I was more shocked at the way the staff handled the complaint. The woman was extremely rude and spoke to me as if I was a 5year old child on the phone. She interrupted me while explaing why I was disappointed and began to raise her voice telling me that she wasn't listening to my cheek. Which I can assure you was no wear near cheek... then told me not to order from there again and hung up. I think this is totally shocking considering this is meant to be a takeaway business and should to be able to hear where there going wrong based on customer reviews to try make it better .. I'll also be advising my family and friends to not be wasting their money or time ordering from this rude staffed takeaway again

Please don't make the same mistake I made by ordering chips and a kebab. I had to throw most of the chips away, they were dry yet greasy, if such a thing is possible! They gave us a tonne of kebab meat, but it was of the poorest quality. Please don't waste your money here.

Called in for fish and chips on a Friday evening. I don't like spicy curry sauce so asked if I could try it first . The member of staff bought a pot and I asked for a spoon , he told me to just use my finger I didn't like it so chose something else instead, he popped the lid back on the pot so someone else may have got that. The visit didn't get any better as the fish and batter was disgusting, it was really rubbery, not crisp and bubbly as you expect good batter to be. In fact it was inedible, the chips were ok but tbh I was put off by the hygiene of the curry and awful texture of the fish.Wouldn't recommend or visit again

We thought this was a normal coffee-snacks type place. But inside we ordered coffee for £2.00 and I had an Oasis at £1.95. We were very thirsty having walked around the abbey in hot sunshine.The coffee was absolutey undrinkable, so after one sip my wife left it. My Oasis was fine cause it was premade in a factory and therefore un-ruinable. though if they had had their chance....

It’s such a shame that this ‘chippy’ is let down by their appalling ability to deliver. Either offer a delivery service, or don’t. Don’t offer a delivery service, tell me you will deliver at x time, and then turn up at x plus at least an hour! Don’t tell me your driver is sick, quit, crashed his car - different excuse every week. Be honest! I hate being lied to. Food is fine, not the best, but not the worst. Reliability is the major issue!

If you can think off it, they will most probably make it. I have never seen a take away with such a big menu. The food was okay as well. A good combination with a night at the Ship Inn

Not pizza dough as you know it, more like a flatbread. Tomato sauce with no seasoning. Somewhat greasy.

Good variety of food served by friendly staff. Very reasonably priced for huge portions. Dogs made very welcome. Would definitely go again

Sat in for fish supper and white pudding supper. Staff were very friendly. Fish was well cooked and the chips were excellent - there were too many of them! Left feeling very full. Highly recommended

Great takeaway that has a sit in area for an extra £2 for table but worth it . Thought the decor was really nice and the service was really nice aswell . I got the kebab with hot sauce and garlic sauce , portion size was excellent as was the other portion sizes that my wife and kids got . Really good flavour from kebab meat and chips were cooked to crispy style .Really friendly staff that make's eating out alot more enjoyable no matter were you go 😉 . Great wee takeaway in melrose and will be back when in area . 👍👍👍👍

Didn't arrive on time, Called to find out what was happening and said it was on its way, still didn't arrive so I called again and they said it had been delivered so they said they would send a new fresh pizza delivery with free chips and juice. After a grand total of 3 hours of waiting the delivery turned up cold ( originally the pizza which never turned up in the first place) and no chips or juice. Avoid this place it's a shambles.

there was a meal missing from the order, on calling on complaining I was reassured it would be straight out. 1hour30 and still nothing. I won’t be using this service again.

shocking service tonight!! first time I phoned was told driver left 5 mins ago ( I live maybe 8 mins from the shop) phoned 25 mins later to be told the driver will be with me in 5 mins, phoned another 25 mins later to be told driver is in the village and will be there within a few minutes, 15 mins later he arrives, took two and a half hours to be delivered!! 1 hour 25 mins later than the said too!!

Very disappointed first you no longer sell pasta but are clearly still selling it according to menu then foods half an hour and cold. Also sauce missing from kebab and no can of juice

Food was ok, but the real downside was the chips.. Not sure if it was the type of potatoes used but a good oil change was definitely needed, would return if this was improved.

Food arrived late, burger was hard, bun was soggy. Ordered a burger box but got no onion rings, fritters over cooked. Only plus side they got the juice right.

I visited with my husband on a Tuesday evening. We had a meat feast pizza 12" and a spiced mixed kebab. We decided to eat in. The dishes were amazing quality and value. The pizza was really tasty and very generously covered with different meats - a treat for a carnivore. The kebab was huge and really delicious. In the end I ate a third of the pizza and then helped out with the kebab, leaving 2 thirds of a pizza to be taken home for a delicious treat tomorrow.

Ordered a kebab and a portion of chicken wings at 9:30 on a Monday night. the delivery time on just eat was 10:20 (which was already a long wait for 2 items I thought). It then got to 10:30 so I phoned the shop and they said it was just leaving Melrose. It never arrived to Langlee until 11:05. I don't believe it takes 35 minutes to drive to Langlee from Melrose. This is shocking for a Monday evening. I had planned to eat my dinner and be going to bed by that time.

Had enough of Melrose Abbey food has been poor for a while delivery slow and now they can't even call you to ask what you want as a replacement drink. Enough is enough.

traffic was poor but not poor enough for a 2 hour wait for the food. it was ordered at 16:45 and didn't arrive until 19:10. food was cold, French fries were soggy and other chips were stale. sausage wasn't battered probably with half of it open. chicken nuggets were only good thing there and were luke warm. don't think I'll be ordering here again.

so so late the pizza, chips, garlic bread all soggy pizza was also burnt and soggy oh the irony! just disgusting was so hungry when it came and then it all went in the bin!!

Food was great! Nice and hot and the delivery time was great for a Saturday night. They quoted over an hour and delivered in maybe 30 minutes. Would recommend the pizza 🍕

waited just under 1.5 hours for delivery, macaroni was disgusting hardly any cheese and all stuck together (macaroni is very simple to make) kebab meat was ok, nan was rock solid, asked for chilli and garlic mayo only got chilli, actually broke a knife trying to cut the nan, will not be ordering from here again.

First time using this place through Just Eat and would have second thoughts!!! I ordered it at 6.30 and received it at 8.40!!!!! Understand they might have been busy but that length of time......
