Meera's Xpress in Barnet

Ordered 2 naans and was shocked to find them both stale and dry! It was crumbling and difficult to eat! Complained over the phone and was told to return the old naans and take fresh ones, but I refused as I was not going to go out of my way to collect this and also my food would have gone cold. Therefore, I asked if I could get a discount on my next order and was told no! They don’t care about their customers at all!

Absolutely brilliant samosa chaat and crispy bhajia - ordered on the phone, very helpful with our specific needs in regards to chutney required. Kanta Ben was very nice to help us pack our food as we were taking on a fairly long train journey to Kent. RamjiBhai came out from the kitchen and gave us some complimentary samosas as well, he also gave us very generous portions of chutney as well. Thank you Jai Bapashree Jai AbjeeBapa

The service and food has totally gone down hill and was just awful. For the past 4 times we have been here they have always got the order wrong forgetting to pack items or giving the wrong items. Will never go back here now. Just awful.

Be prepared to be insulted if you carry a non vegetarian take away inside the shop. The girl in the store insulted me that non vegetarian take away carry bag should not be carried inside the shop, as it is a vegetarian take away shop. (There is no sign board that says so.) Be prepared to have your dahi puri (or similar items) prepared with bare hands without wearing gloves. One for the shop owner to consider implementing for customer health reasons. Never experienced such a rude experience in my life. These are based on incident happened. 2nd September 6:45 pm.

Bought 8 Samosas for £5.50 (Most Expensive), came with one small pot of Imli and a small pot of Green Chutney. When asked for more chutney, counter person replied, “one pot of chutney of your choice with four samosas. If you buy 2 samosas then no chutney will be given”. Counter person replied, when I asked who made this decision, these are the instructions from THE MANAGEMENT. If you don’t ask for serviette/s, then you won’t be given any serviette.

Every time we go there, the service is amazing and the food delicious. Thoroughly recommend this place, specifically for takeaways.

The menu was not labeled properly and many things that contained gluten did not have the Gluten symbol. I had to ask the cashier what was gluten free and she told me I need to sit and wait so she can take care of other guests. Terrible customer service. They told me that the chili tofu was gluten free so I had ordered it. Then after the cashier asks me if I can eat whole wheat flour. This was the dumbest question I have ever been asked in a restaurant. I then did not trust the tofu and called a different branch where the woman told me that it was not gluten free. The wait was long and the food was bad. Definitely would not eat here again.

What an absolute pleasure to order from here. Placed an online order and then telephoned to confirm there would be no issues. Nahrendra and his team really outdid themselves. KantaBen and Amaratben prepared the curry’s and RatanBen prepared the Naan bread. The samosas were prepared by NaranBhai, SureshBhai prepared the Bhajia and Patis. NathoBhai prepared an assortment of chutneys, they were very well presented. AmitBhai, ShaileshBhai and VishalBhai brought everything out to the car for me. The surprise was the complementary Gelabis, Ladhoo and Barfi we got for desert. I placed a very large order for a jamwanu for 80 persons. We were celebrating Jikoo Masi’s Birthday anniversary, Narendra and his team did not disappoint with the selection of genuine dishes that were freshly prepared for this auspicious occasion. I collected in very well packaged and labelled containers: Kichoree, Gelabi, Halwa, Battata shakh, dal, bhaat, samosas, dokhras, seero and puri. They even provided wallpaper rolls for us to put on the floor to get the the old authentic dining experience. We were provided plates, glasses and spoons, and we had lots of freshly made Chass (Lasi). I would like to thank them all for this, I am sure Jikoo Masi will be looking down happy that we thought about her today. I had ordered Thepla for our travels. On collection day when I went there to collect, I was told that the factory hasn’t sent my order so I need to collect from their factory after an hour. Luckily factory wasn’t too far for me. When we collected, theplas weren’t thin like they are supposed to be. They were rather thick like paratha. When I said this to the lady at factory she said she can’t do anything about it & I need to speak to the shop. I phoned the shop, the lady kept on saying ‘we are sorry but it’s made by the factory, nothing to do with us so we can’t do anything’. I explained to her so many times that I ordered from the shop & the factory is theirs & run by them so they are responsible for the customer service. But I was pushed to my limit with the same answer no matter what I said. There was nobody else I could talk to apart from her. So only order Thepla from here if you want Paratha instead.

Meera’s Xpress never fails to live up to our high expectations. Once again the food we ordered was made fresh, piping hot and cooked to perfection. Kanta Ben served the food, and Naran Kaka greeted us warmly. Nathoo Kaka came from the kitchen and said hello to us and Ratanben brought us our chutneys. May Bapu bless you as always, Jai Bapashree.

At Stratfield Road branch they had a sign "Eat Out Help Out 20% discount on ALL takeaways" Monday to Wednesday. I ordered lunch thali to takeaway which was £4.50 and expected 20% discount to be applied. But the staff said it does not apply on thali and I said the sign is clearly noted as 20% discount on all. She said ask the boss (who wasn't there) and was rude and unfriendly. AND food was tasteless. Watch Out!!!

Fui testigo de otra clienta que tuvo que quejarse cuando le entregaron la comida que se cayó al suelo, se cayó al suelo y se volvió a empaquetar esta misma comida y trataron de dársela a la señora.Me quedé sin palabras, ella les dijo exactamente lo mismo que vi cuando vio esto también y actuaron como si no fuera nada.Básicamente, creen que es aceptable darle a la gente comida que se ha caído al suelo. ¡Imagínese lo que no ve!La salud ambiental ha sido llamada por mí y la señora, supongo, también.¡Repugnante!Lo peor es que cuando la señora dijo que quería un alimento fresco y no uno que se hubiera caído al suelo, otro hombre trajo el mismo alimento y vi que era el mismo alimento. Luego fingió que estaba fresco, ¡son unos delincuentes!¡Esp en este momento con Covid 19 realmente no creo que deban operar de esta manera!¡No usan máscaras y sirven comida y no se cambian de guantes, sino que recogen comida!

Servicio extremadamente pobre. Esperando más de 30 minutos para nuestra comida para llevar. Varios otros fueron servidos después de nosotros y recogieron sus comidas antes que nosotros. El servidor dijo que si el pedido es más grande, entonces no lo priorizan. Si es un solo artículo para una persona, se sirve rápidamente. Escusa extremadamente pobre.

Where is the tamarind chutney for the mogo chips and dhia wada. Spoils the authenticity of the food. Was really disappointed 😞.

Otra visita espectacular a Meera's Express, Nahrendra y su equipo hacen todo lo posible para que se sienta bienvenido. En la ocasión había reservado una mesa para 14 personas para nuestro evento navideño. Santaben nos atiende y tomó nuestro pedido de manera rápida y profesional. Nathoobhai y Naranbhai nos trajeron nuestras bebidas con algunos adornos navideños adornándolas. Kantaben sacó entrantes recién cocinados y nos dijo que Ratan Kaki había preparado los platos para nosotros. Una vez que terminamos nuestros entrantes, Amaratben y Sureshbhai limpiaron nuestra mesa. Brilliant little take away serving excellent Indian food . Chat is superb and spicy . North Indian food is authentic and great to taste . They do have a couple of tables , but it’s mainly a takeaway joint . But to enjoy the chat one must eat there itself .

Food was ok not that great but moreover one of the serving ladies at the till was extremely rude and was pretending that she was giving the food for free! AVOID

Needed something spicy to eat. Veg was no problem. So 15 mins to Meera Express. Very basic sit down "cafe" like seats. Good masala dosa and idli. Tok home some spicy snacky food. And of course, sweet pan.

This is a small restaurant with space and seating for very few people. Primarily a take-away. The food is very good and prices low but service leaves much to be desired.

A regañadientes se fue porque era una invitación, ¡ay !, la misma vieja basura. la nota en la pared tiene autoservicio en todas partes, se te da comida en el plástico más endeble. cuando no te gusta nada acerca de la comida o el lugar, ¡POR FAVOR, no pierdas el tiempo diciéndole a la señora detrás de la caja! porque su respuesta es siempre OH OTRAS PERSONAS NO HAN HECHO NADA. pedimos una gran variedad y uno de ellos era DOSA (panqueque con sensación de patata) debería haber sido crujiente y delgado, pero era como comer pasta cruda con relleno seco, esta era su sensación especial yuuuckkk. si tiene 10 minutos adicionales vaya a Wembley o salte a Cochin (un poco caro)

Everytime I´m in London I´m visiting Meera´s Xpress in Finchley and am enjoying the good indian vegetarian food. There are quiete a few dishes on the menue so it will take me a while to test everything. Great food - good prices. Thanks

The people are friendly, the food is great! Meera's is our go to take away restaurant as it beats all the others by a mile.

We love the authentic tasty vegetarian food which is really reasonable. It is a non frills place but the food is well worth a visit. You can even get a pan here!

Good vegetarian Indian food however it's more life a cafe and the service is poor. It's good value for money.

Esta es la mejor comida india que he probado jamás! Auténtica comida vegetariana india. Yo tenía un samosa crujientes verduras, cebolla, Baji lleno y maltratada chili seguido por vegetales biryani y chili paneer.

Hemos probado un montón de comida desde su menú. Excelente gusto. precios muy baratos. Siempre comida fresca. Puedes hvthali solo para el almuerzo por 3.50 libras..!! Me encanta el pav bhaji, aloo chaat chat, muthiya malai kofta, srikhand,. Sin duda probarlo. Incluso el personal es bastante amable.

Their shechwan panner is to die for!same with chole bhatura! Whenever i go there i order those 2 plus always something new to try. Never been disappointed.Service has ups n downs ( last time lady at the counter was very unfriendly but previous 3 times different one was smiley n helpfull) but definetly i will be back soon!

Best channa batura I've eaten in ages! Finger-licking good! Plenty of variety in the menu and all vegetarian. Reasonably priced and just the pick me up if you're after some comfort food (ladies, you know what I mean!). Thank God for this place!

I've had three meals from here. Two purchased by friends who bought food round for a football game on TV and one I bought for the family last night.We had a variety of Dosa, Samosa, Bhajia, pakora and Noodles.They're not fantastic, more like good, home made food.

Terrible terrible place to eat. Dilapidated and dirty counters and unfriendly staff make the mediocre food taste even more terrible taste more than it actually is. The fellow selling Tobacco in the corner keeps his area filthy and having him peering over you whilst eating is very cringe, and when you do pay your bill make sure you have cash and in the correct change as they dont have a card machine(they think its the 1930's) and never have any change!! Ridiculous PS I prefer Mahavir Sweet Mart which serves the freshest and tastiest food and by far the better option. Mahavir Sweet Mart is located directly opposite Meera's.

Meera's Xpress is a lovely cafe/takeaway at just few mins from Central Finchley Station. I popped in today before 12 ‘o clock and it wasn’t busy, a good time for a quick brunch enjoying some delicious vegetarian dishes. Giving a look at the menu, the food is from different Indian regions, plus some Indo-chinese dishes, including different kind of rice. Everything is hundred per cent vegetarian and vegan friendly. I ordered a Pau Bhaji, which I knew is one of the most famous dishes in some Indian Cities and I really wanted to try it before leaving North Finchley, it is a mixture of vegetables and tomatoes in masala sauce, served with two soft bans; plus I had chosen some vegetable balls (a mix of sweet-corn, carrots, peas etc..), a fantastic mango juice ( an Indian company as well); It was just a starter but you could give a look at the menu, which is plenty of dishes to choose from.I would recommend to that person who loves eating on his/her own, or with few friends, as there is not enough room: they have just a couple of tables, probably because it is primarily a takeaway. Anyway it’s worth a go : the food is amazing.Cheers.

Visited Meera's for a quick bite on a weeknight. We knew it was a basic place having visited before so were not expecting anything outstanding.Having ordered, we wanted to pay by card but were told they only accept cash. So we offered cash but were told they didn't have enough change! Very odd for a place that insists on cash...We were shown to a table which was covered in the last occupants' leftovers and when we asked for the table to be cleaned, the waitress simply flicked all the crumbs from the table onto the chairs in an indignant manner. She also informed us it was not the job of the staff to clean tables and customers are expected to do so... They also refuse to serve anyone tap water. If you want water, they will sell you bottled water. Our order arrived in dribs and drabs, it was all fresh and tasty but they forgot one of the dishes we ordered. We waited a reasonable time for it to arrive but it didn't. When we finally asked for it to be cancelled as we had finished the rest of the meal, we were informed they don't offer refunds and they would let us have it as a take away, which we did not want.The service was appalling, they simply didn't care about the customer experience and are all about grabbing your cash. Not worth it unless you're desperate.There are plenty of other places in the locality to go.

I passed by here and was curious to visit. Wonderful, tasty food and at a fraction of what some places may charge. Don't be put off by the basic service, it 'does what it says on the tin'. Plastic plates/cutlery don't bother me. If you want tasty, vegetarian Indian food in a simple setting, go for it. Their masala dosa was lovely. I will be back.

The first time I've had home-made food outside of home!The daily thali is outstanding.Plenty of tasty fresh food at a ridiculously low price.It is not a restaurant, more of a canteen at a Caterers.The kachoris & sweets were not quite as good as the place opposite.The best simple meal you'll ever get.

love the thalis that are served monday to friday. Always fresh cooked individual dishes and items. Food all vegetarian and staff will switch something if you can;t eat anything for dietary or health reasons. It really is like home cooked indian food and better than nearly every restaurant where bought sauces are used and the food is anglicised.Value is incomparable. you collect your own meal and clear it away and that's fine. I agree they should provide water and have slightly stronger plastic cutlery

I come to Meera's for the food and the value alone. The large menu is vegetarian only, but is a delight for the choice and quality of food. My favourite dishes are the spinach paneer and the chickpea curry, which induce a watering mouth just by thinking about them! The lunch thali is also great value - it's not amazing, as some dishes are quite watery, but where else in London can one get a full lunch for around £3? As for dining here, it's very basic and I normally get a takeout to re-heat later. And by basic, I mean plastic plates and cutlery and self-service. Although it doesn't seem dirty. The lunchtimes are busy here so one may not always get a seat.

I took my mother there. Never again. staff beyond rude to her. Food adequate and served on plastic plates (fine) but with plastic cutlery that broke so we weren't able to properly eat the food. Mum already fed up with service but diabetic and needed some tap water - REFUSED. .Crap service - dosa Ok - nothing special. My dear mum will take this further as she's so freaking offended. . Hygiene issues galore.

I enjoy their Indian food, which is truly delicious. Lots of choice, but I haven't yet been disappointed. Everything is lovely - from starters, mains and to desserts. Would suggest everybody! And especially for the price. It is a bargain. Because it is so busy, you shouldn't worry, everything is fresh, and you can taste it! As others have mentioned, it is easy to ask them for amendments to the recipes, and they will make it exactly as you asked.

The best vegetarian food I have ever tasted in my life, order the thali and you won't be dissapointed, you would struggle to find better food then this in India.

As a regular user of their lunchtime specials I have to praise this local takeaway. What you get is always different, but always a filling tasty vegetarian thali at a very modest price.

Tastiest Indian veggie food you can imagine. Highly recommended, and excellent value for money. Can be a bit oily but ask them to make it healthy and spiced to order. Ordering can take long time so check in advance.

Our favourite place for Indian vegetarian food and we've seen more than our fair share. This is not the sort of place to expect ambience etc - it's one of those informal places that do cheap fantastic food. We usually take away.

A small take away with a few chairs and tables in Finchley. If you remember it's essentially a take away, there's no problem. You order and pay at the desk, collect your food and clear away your own dishes.But - the food is great. Massive portions of freshly prepared South Indian food which are incredibly well priced. It's all vegetarian and reminded us of places in India, Do try it!

This place is great, cheap, vegetarian eats for those feeling a little adventurous. You won't get your usual Balti/Korma stuff here but, as everything tastes so good, you can be relatively safe in the knowledge that no matter what you order, it will be decent. The service at the till is often excruciatingly poor/bordering on rude, but i've been here loads and have taken friends and family, who all really enjoy it. I'd be surprised if your bill comes to more than £10, but you can eat far cheaper than that if you look out for lunchtime specials like the thalis. It's all freshly cooked too, so all in all, a big thumbs up
