Med-One Lebanese restaurant in Kirklees

This used to be my favourite restaurant, however, after going this afternoon for mothers day, was really disappointed The food on a whole was OK, not as nice as normal but, OK. We ordered a bottle of wine, couldn't pronounce it so pointed to it on the menu. Food, OK, not the normal standard but not bad. The wine they brought was actually the worse I think I'd tasted, I just thought it was because it wasn't what i was used to, I tried to give it others on our table but no one liked it. So, when the bill came, they had charged us nearly £30, instead of the £17/18 bottle of wine we ordered. On the way out I spoke to the manager who's only response was, if you didn't like the wine you should of sent if back, I explained we didn't because we thought it was a £17/18 bottle of wine and we wasn't used to the taste. Basically tough, hevsaid the waiters had no interest in bringing the more expensive wine. No sorry or anything, and, do you know what mister manager, I will never step foot on your premises ever again! And, normally I tell all my friends and family to go, but not anymore. Treat your customers better. Such a shame because I liked the food but there's better restaurants out there. Please, if this has happened to anyone else, I would live to know

First time visit with friends who are regulars who wanted to "show off" their fav restaurant and it was well worth the visit. Arrived early evening mid week and the place was already quit busy, plenty of staff meant there was no waiting for service which was prompt and efficient. Mediterranean food usually means lots of veggie things which Med One has but also a great choice for the meat lovers too, I personally had the beef Moussaka because I haven't had this dish for a long long time and realised I've been missing out, it was delicious ! our friends did have veggie options and theirs looked delicious too. The ambiance of the restaurant is great yet quite intimate with very reasonable prices, we shall definitely be going again and one on the list for Huddersfield diners !

Took 2 friends here as they were keen to try Lebanese food, (my wife and I regularly go and enjoy the restaurant). My friends John & Viv loved it and cleared their plates. We all left full and happy. Service was very good. For me, this is by far the best spot to eat in Huddersfield

Visited on a Sunday evening Mid December an once again, we enjoyed a tremendous meal with great service. The chef cooks the most incredible, unique dishes with myself and my daughter enjoying Chicken Sharama and my wife the Vegetarian Moussaka, following some gorgeous chefs bread to start. New waiting staff served us this evening and they were excellent. Our favourite restaurant in Yorkshire 😁

Great dinner and a buzzy atmosphere. The inexpensive wine choices are also great. Everyone enjoyed their food, bith starters and mains.

Visited with friends last week and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Excellent service and good choice of dishes. Prices were about average but the portions were of a decent size and were filling. We were seated upstairs and it was nice and warm and comfortable. Would definitely dine here again.

What has happened to Med One??? We tried to book for a party of 10, we were told over the phone we had to pay a deposit which was absolutely fine BUT we couldn't pay over the phone...we would have to pay cash which meant someone would have to drive into Huddersfield after 5pm when they open in order to pay. Hours have reduced, no daytime hours any more so sadly no lunches at med one. The food was amazing as usual and the waiting staff were lovely. When we went to pay we were met by a very surly man at the bar who told us we couldn't pay individually, someone would have to pay for a party of 10. When we complained he said he would allow us just this once but he wouldn't do it again. (We replied, don't worry, there won't be a next time) He was so rude, no thank you for our business, did you enjoy your meal? Very surly. Med One food is fantastic but they seem to be going out of their way to make things difficult for customers . Such a shame to lose a fantastic restaurant. I know times are hard but come on Med One, let customers know you appreciate them!

The restaurant was empty when we arrived but we were asked if we had booked. We had to follow the rude man (who took a while, seemed angry and never spoke) upstairs. He dumped two menus on a table by the stairs and continued upstairs to another level without speaking AT ALL. He was SO rude. I’ve spent ££s here over the years.. I certainly won’t be going back.. SOOO RUDE! I shall refuse to attend any work meals here too.. DISGUSTING attitude.

Fantastic food! There were 8 of us, so we ordered a selection of starters which were superb. We then moved on to mains including lamb maqluba and kebab halabi both of which were very tasty and great portions. We washed it down with some lovely Lebanese red house wine and Beirut beers. Great service and highly recommended…will definitely return.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here with friends. I had the hummus with flatbread, absolutely delicious, followed by chicken shawarma. The rice was beautiful and the chicken very tasty. If you want to enjoy traditional Lebanese food with great service I would recommend Med One.

Father’s Day meal with son, Visited here for the first time with my son and girlfriend and my husband. Staff are totally amazing, very helpful and friendly. The food omg it is amazing and so much we were stuffed. If you are thinking about coming definitely come along you will not be disappointed

We've been here many times. The food was always spot on! Tonight, we were a party of 12, and not a single complaint. The (Pre-ordered) food arrived promptly and correctly. They7 servers were attentive polite and very pleasant. Sure, the manager is a bit grumpy and sulky, an occasional smile would be appreciated. Food was wonderful!!

Terrific food again at Med-One. Everyone in our party enjoyed it. We visit this place regularly. For our friends and family, this is the best dinner or lunch spot in Huddersfield, and the best by far in the town centre.

We went to med one with our young baby who was unsettled to say the least. So after eating our starter we decided to get our main to take way. I can honestly say this is the best food we have eaten in a long time having spent much of summer eating out in various highly regarded restaurants including some with Michelin stars. It was so flavoursome and fresh, every aspect of the meal was excellent including the side salad and sauces. We will definitely be back!

Just remembered the meal I had here and how fresh and authentic it was, really tasty and great atmosphere. I love how friendly and kind the owners are, you really feel like you're having a meal with family. There's a good range of food, like my partner was vegetarian and he said he didn't feel like he had to compromise on flavor like other places. If you like Mediterranean food, you'll be more than happy.

Medone has been my favourite restaurant in Huddersfield. I have been there with friends, colleagues and clients on several restaurant. They never let me down on food quality! Usually very quick service but definitely need to call and book to avoid disappointment. My favourite dish is the chicken shawarma. I like the falafel too!

I have just left your restaurant, and am extremely disappointed with my experience.I am not usually one to write public complaints, as I don't think one negative experience should risk damaging the reputation of a place I have previously had no issues with. However, I wanted to let you know how I felt after leaving your restaurant.We were given our table from 6:30 - 8. We waited around 15 minutes for our drinks in the first place, which was wrong when it arrived, and neither the quality of service or speed improved at all from there. By 7:45 we had only just received our main course, so an 8 o'clock deadline seemed very unrealistic. We were then presented with our bill, and the waitress saying "we need this table back in a few minutes, so please can you pay now?". There was no offer of a dessert, which I would have assumed there would have been time for in an hour and a half time frame.We then waited for probably another 20 minutes, at least, for someone to take our card payments, but this didn't happen, and the waitress didn't come back to our table despite cleaning another table behind us, and taking an order a few tables over. She could see that we had our cards out ready, and kept looking over to us, but it wasn't until I asked another member of staff if they could take our payment that we were told we were supposed to go downstairs to pay.Most restaurants have insisted that customers not get up from their table during visits, and not to approach the bar, so how would we know that this is what we were supposed to do?When getting downstairs, a man (the manager?) greeted us with "when we say we need a table back, we need a table back!" Which is an absolutely disgusting way to speak to a customer! He would hardly let me speak to explain that we had been waiting upstairs because we weren't instructed to come downstairs, but when I did manage to speak, the waitress simply said "oh it must have slipped my mind".I understand that you have had to change a lot of your work processes because of Coronavirus, but I don't think this is an excuse for good customer service to go out of the window.There were two other free tables in the area we were seated in, so if it had been that urgent for ours to be cleared, someone should have come back over to reitterate this, and explain where we needed to go to pay.I am honestly so appalled at the way the man spoke to me, that I doubt you will see me in your restaurant again. I hope you learn to operate more smoothly during this time, and communicate with your customers better, as your food is delicious and I have always encouraged people to go to your restaurant before this.

I write this having just got back from having the most wonderful food one could imagine, I’ve must say the staff where great and attentive even in these trying times won’t be long before I go back thank you all very much and keep up the great work

I tried to eat here last night. I walked through the door, stood by the "Wait here to be seated" sign, only to be beckoned by a man behind the bar at the back of the restaurant, summoning us to him.That is not how you greet customers.

With the recent events of COVID the staff are more than educated and so respectful us social distancing! All staff were masked but still happy and could feel the happiness of been back in business! So happy we made the choice to come out! Food was absolutely incredible and just what we needed after quarantine! Been a few times before and was still amazing but feel staff have gone above and beyond! Thank you Med-one for our First social distancing meal! We will be back!!

I have been visiting Med One since they opened approx 10 or so years ago. I was very impressed with the food then and I can honestly say the standard and flavour has never waivered right up to this evening, in lockdown. Best bread ever, best falafel ever and award for most original and delicious pizzas. Shawarma, Mutabel, Mousaka, and so, so much more. EVERYone I've taken to the restaurant has loved the food, even children and picky eaters. Khalil is the loveliest of chefs and his wife Rogine also works incredibly hard to keep this family run business at the top of Huddersfield's eateries. NOT to be missed and definitely to be re-visited. Thank you Med One for all the years of glorious food. ❤

We have been to Med-One a number of times since it opened and have always had great food. The vegetarian options are good for us, the portions are ample and the atmosphere is great. The aubergine moussaka especially is so good! My fiancee has yet to finish a plate here! We've always been able to get a table on phoning, even if it's been a little last minute. There are a few floors to the restaurant with a good amount of tables. We can't wait till we can visit again!

Just tried a Med One takeaway as they have closed the restaurant due to Coronavirus crisis. Sooooo glad they did. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous food as always. Thanks for opening up guys to serve your regulars who have missing your beautiful food.

Where do I start, I wanted to book a table of 14, you cannot book online or by email, you have to book over the phone. I phoned and was told I had to pay £5.00pp deposit and pre order the food. I said, not a problem, I’ll pay the deposit now over the phone, the manager said you can’t pay over the phone you have to come in, I asked why and was not given an explanation, I thought maybe they don’t take card payments, they do. So I had to make a special trip to pay the deposit, greeted by an unhappy looking manager. When we’d had our meal I spoke to manager for an explanation on the booking process, he said “it’s how we’ve done it for the last 10 years”, I explained it’s inconvenient having people making a special trip on an evening to pay deposits and you will be putting people off, he wasn’t interested, but why would you be, we had only spent £360.00 plus tip This is a real shame as the food is fantastic as always, the waitress did a great job by herself (although my wife and I did end up with a pot of Salsa dip spilt down us whilst having out food served, it was an accident and she did apologise) I've given this two stars and one on service, this is simply because of the experience with the manager and not the waitress

This place has lovely food, no doubt about that. However I recently called to book a table for 10 people and was told that unless a deposit was paid for each person and all menu choices for all courses were made 4 days in advance they could not accept the booking. So we won’t be going, not a good way to run a restaurant or enticing large parties to eat here. Really disappointed and the restaurant will lose income because of this attitude.

First visit to Med One and can’t wait to go back. The surroundings are lovely and the food is totally delicious, packed full of flavour. The service was excellent too. All round, brilliant place to eat.

Myself and my friend went for lunch to this holmly, gorgeous restaurant. The atmosphere there is fantastic, service very friendly and the food.....simply delicious. My friend had a deal of the day which was a Lebanese beef stew served with a rice and salad. Presentation was superb as same as the taste of it. £6.95. I've had a salmon on the pastry which was very delicious too. If you're looking for a good quality food and a friendly atmosphere the place is just for you.

This place has been and remains a firm favourite of mine. Amazing food and service and the staff are just fab. I constantly recommend this place to everyone
