Meat59 in Torbay

Highly recommend trying this place. We both had the meat59 burgers and they were delicious, really flavourful and juicy. We also tried the filthy fries, which were really tasty! Would definitely go again.

I've used Meat59 a few times now, I've never had bad food from here, infact I'd say it's always pretty excellent to be fair. The burgers and fries are always lush! Normally get takeaway and it's always perfect, have eaten in a few times too, the staff are always really attentive, food is pretty quick and always tasty! Highly recommend if you're a burger fan!

The best burgers! I was introduced to MEAT 59 when they had a place in Exeter in 2018. Sadly both that restaurant and the one in Newton Abbot closed down but it's still worth the drive to Torquay! The menu has something for everyone, even if you don't eat meat. The Raging Bull burger is my all time favourite and the £12 lunch time deal is more than worth it.

We tried the Meat59 Burger Large 6oz patty, very messy, very tasty. The BBQ sauce was light and didn't overpower the taste. The soul fries were good, not that spicy. The Smoking Cow was very good, not overly Smokey. The Kiev fries had breaded chicken. Onion rings were nice.

Had the smoking cow burger after seeing photos of how amazing it looked. Ordered a single patty, and it was so dry. I was really dissapointed, the photo made it look juicy and had lots of sauce in it, mine had no sauce, it was so dry I couldnt finish it :( My partner had a different burger, which was also very dry. I dont think we will return, but hoping it was just an off day in the kitchen.

Burger was poor and expensive. Had to go to the bar to pick up my own drink as they had forgotten about it and then they added a service charge on there as well. £60 all in all and it was terrible.

Meat 59 in Torquay is the best place I have ever eaten a burger the atmosphere was good service was even better and I would definitely recommend it to anyone the prices are quite reasonable and I will definitely eat there again

Amazing food would highly recommend

Visited last Friday for lunch with friends. We were very surprised by the superb quality and variety of the burgers and the rosemary fries were delicious. The service was first rate. We will be regulars at this restaurant

A sleepy week day visit for myself and my partner this week. Overall, it was a great evening. The place was busy and clearly doing well, which is great to see! We both went for the 'truffle shuffle' burger. The first thought of flavour was good. However, there was no truffle. Sadly, the only part that had truffle in was the mayo. By the time I had finished the burger, my pallet was overwhelmed with sweetness from the amount of red onion chutney on the bun. All the burgers needed was some balance and a bit of thought of the layers and would have been great! But the biggest letdown was the lack of truffle. If it's on the men, please make it sing. We will be back but may not order that burger agai. Hopefully, the feedback i left on the night reached the chefs. All the best, thanks for a good evening.

Really tasty burgers. The vibe and the service were excellent. Server suggested us the best from the menu. Drinks menu have a variety of options, the flavored ciders were the best ones.

We randomly came across this place after checking online for somewhere new to eat, we are not from Torquay, we were just visiting so we love discovering new places. We were greeted ad we came in by a friendly guy, we ordered some drinks and a burger, and the server let us know about the lunch special which made our order cheaper which was very nice! Food tasted amazing and good prices. We had the chicken burger and fries. Really great cozy place and nice atmosphere.

Love this place. We discovered it three years ago while staying in the area and have been back for my birthday every year since. It's such a shame the other branches in Exeter and Newton Abbot didn't survive.

I can not fault this place the staff were lovely, inviting and welcoming, we hadn't booked and they were still able to slot us in on a Friday evening. The service was quick and polite and the burgers we had were juicy and good value. I haven't stopped raving on about such a good burger since having one from in and out in California ten years ago. Definitely would recommend this one if you love a good burger!

Delicious burgers and loaded fries, would highly recommend as a top quality burger joint. They also helped look after a large table that was being awkward for a stag do which I really appreciate, so would highly rate their service as well.

I had been looking forward to coming to Meat 59 for a while and decided to go with friends for lunch. The Friday lunchtime deal was good value for money and the smoking cow burger was fantastic. It really did have a smokey flavour and the whole thing was very satisfying. It was accompanied with rosemary salted chips and I added onion rings as a side to share, these were also very nice and well cooked. Had the meat 59 burger and my girlfriend had the kiss my hass. The best burgers we have ever had!! The speakeasy ipa was also fantastic. We live 2 hours away but will be back.

Wow wow wow!! Meat 59 really is an excellent place to eat!! The food, the atmosphere and the service! We went on Tuesday 26th and had THE best burgers! (meat 59 blew my partners taste buds away!!) The pattys are so flavoursome.... Simply yummy!! Service was great and the surroundings and vibe was just what we wanted - upbeat and chilled!! Thank you - we will be back!!

Burgers only but they are so good. I have to admit, it is a little expensive but I have never had a bad experience. I believe I would go more if in a different location but once you are there with friends and good food, you forget about what is outside those doors.

Had booked a table for 1pm. Had a confirmation email. Turned up to find the place shut. Not answering phones. Useless. Edit: we were not emailed or called to tell us that they could no longer honour the booking.

We went to Meat 59 in Torquay on Friday. The burgers were delicious. We didn't get to take a picture of the burgers as they were really good and tasty that in a short time we ate them. The fries were cooked really well. My partner had halloumi fries which were really filing and served with a sweet chilly dip. My partner reccomended these but it can be lots on the top of a burger. My sweet potato fries were really nice and crunchy like I like them however they were served late compared to the rest. The cider is the best cider I have ever had, it was very balanced not to sweet no too dry It was in a bottle and it was with Elderflower and Cucumber. The place was empty and there was not any atmosphere as around 9pm we were the only people eating still. While we were having our dinner we become the last people

We came for an early visit with our three young children. The lady serving us was lovely and accommodating. We really enjoyed our burgers and loaded fries but wouldn’t have the wings again as we found them unexceptional. We would come again if we were close by.

I have been here twice in the last week - what a burger! During the week they offer a burger, fries and drink for £12. An absolute steal of a deal. The dude that works out front is really nice and can’t do enough for you. The food is insane. Without doubt, the best burger I’ve ever had. This place is a hidden gem in Torquay and we’re very lucky to have them.

Great burgers! We had a standard beef burger and a special chicken nacho burger and they were both very tasty and cooked well. Fries were crispy and delicious. Definitely a good place to go for no fuss burgers. Friendly staff too. It's in a bit of a dingy area away from the main high street but don't be fooled by the location.

Buns were the biggest issue at the burger. They were too dry seemed like they were done days ago. Other than that flavour was plain nothing special.

Burger fell apart. The bun was double the size of the patty. Chips overcooked.

The team here at Meat59 are as delightful as the Chocolate Brownie which struggles for first place with the truffle shuffle. Don’t even get me started on the chicken burgers. The small but fabulous wine list must also get a mention. Love this place - it’s our go to venue now.

Our experience at Meat59 was not mind-blowing, but was not unpleasant either. The restaurant was pretty empty when we got there, and so we got our food served quickly. They have a great variety of options - I had the 'skinny' version of the blue-cheese burger and my partner had one of the originals (the names were clever, and you can see the full menu on their website). We also had the Kiev fries, that were salty and slightly garlicky. Though a bit more garlic would have been preferable. The burger was a little chewy - and if they had been smashed down a little bit more, would have made them easier to eat. That said, they did not mess around with flavour, and only the blue cheese mayo could have been made a little more cheesy! They added a 10% tip which we thought was fair (heads up). We won't be back, but if you're fancying a burger - this place could be for you.

Visited with my wife and completely pigged out. Was absolutely delicious and worth busting my belt with the feast I had. Glad we payed a visit and will do so again the next time we’re in the area.

The burgers here are outstanding. Each one was cooked perfectly. And all the sides were pretty good too, especially the dirty fries and sweet potato fries. They cater really well for gluten free and service was quick. Booking online was easy.
