Meat the Greek in Guildford

We went to the new restaurant. The food was incredible as always and the service was insanely quick. Our food arrived in a few minutes. Will definitely be coming back.

Having sampled many take a ways we thought we would try the new restaurant recently opened . Impressions when entering was one of being immediately spotless , the decor modern and well planned . We arrived at 12 noon and ordered . The staff were pleasant and attentive . This is a restaurant where you order and the take a seat . The drinks arrived within two minutes . The food was excellent and well presented and in our party all plates were devoured . The toilets are spotless . Within twenty minutes half the tables were full and by the time we left the restaurant was full . Hats off to the management transforming the business into a successful restaurant maintaining quality and presentation is super to see . We will return !!!

Quick tasty Greek favourites. Great for lunch or when on the move. Olive oil in large canister available to purchase. Portions adequate. Tight on the sauces/sides.

Having been to Meat the Greek numerous times I was excited to visit their new sit down area. As usual the souvlaki and gyros were outstanding! Only suggestion I have is to maybe decorate the venue a little bit more Greek?

I'm very disappointed. I've been eating in this place for years. A few times the fries and meat in my sandwich came cold, which I ignored. Today, I decided with my friend to complain to the staff who immediately offered to replace it. After 3 minutes the manager came and told me off in from of the other customers. He asked me why I had to wait for 10 minutes to complain...then he said 20...he was really rude and disrespectul. They should show more respect and listen to their customers.

My friend and myself visited on 17/02/24 early afternoon. It was busy with families out for lunch, food looked exquisite. We sat at our table, ordered by QR code on table. Food came out fresh after 5-10mins. The taste of the food was mouth watering and sooo tasty. I would recommend Meet the Greek to anyone and everyone, I will definitely will return. A1 keep up the great work :)

We moved to Guildford a year ago and we are obsessed with this place! Great value, delicious Gyros and speedy service, so happy they have moved into a bigger premises, the new restaurant is great for a casual lunch/ dinner :)

Took my family out for a quick and casual Sunday lunch. The souvlaki and the kebab pita wrap with their respective sauces were all very tasty. The kids later topped up with some soft ice-cream while the parents shared the baklava. Very fulfilling, and the newly expanded seating space really made an entire difference for being a more family friendly option! Looking forward to coming back already!

This is still one of the best places to go if you want a quick but delicious meal. They've recently renovated and added more indoor seating, so it can fit more people now. I'll always be a loyal customer! P.S. I'm not sure if they allow outside drinks, but I always bring coffee when I go because my partner and I don't usually drink soda when we eat out. Luckily, they didn't mind me bringing it in.

Delicious food - nicely cooked meat, crunchy fries and tzatziki was second to none. All very affordable. And cool concept of Greek fast food. Will be back!

Really amazing. The food was great and you wouldn't believe how quickly it arrived at the table after ordering. Service was 10/10. The new restaurant is good too. The food can be a bit messy to eat, so having a table and table service is really good. Toilets were spot on and the food could be ordered via the app. I wish I took a picture, but the food didn't hang around!!

Divine souvlaki and super friendly staff, I really enjoyed it! I'm Greek and this souvlaki is much better than many of the ones in Greece. A must-try if you find yourself in Guildford!!

The newly refurbished restaurant had a lovely modern minimalist feel. Great to see staff cleaning the tables as soon as customers were finished. However was very disappointed when our wraps arrived with stone cold chips and ingredients. Staff were more than happy to replace the dishes however it was clear the chef had only popped them in the microwave for a few minutes as the dish arrived back luke warm. Very disappointing as overall flavours of the dish was delicious. It would have only taken a few minutes to replace the dish with a fresh order. Especially given chips are normally piping hot when they are freshly cooked.

Been coming here since it opened , always 10/10 and so much better now they’ve expanded you can sit in and order from your table.

This place is absolutely brilliant, I visit often for a small meal whilst I am in Guildford. Food is authentic, fresh and very tasty.

Very friendly & fast service from the team and a truly great authentic Greek taste yummy! Even loved the cute Christmas headband, ha ha ha I will definitely visit here again soon.

They are very rude, I got home 20mins away to discover they had given me the wrong food and they wouldn't change it because of the 'time limit'. The food was great but overpriced for what it was (that I didn't order!). It's a shame because it's a great place otherwise but it's let itself down. Check your order before you leave.

If gourmet fast food is a thing, this place is where to find it. Rapid service and quality of food is exceptional. There is indoor and outdoor seating. While seating is limited, there is always the option of takeaway and eating on a bench in the Guildford castle park nearby.

This place was delicious! Quick drinks and great food that came out in under 5 minutes. It was so good, we were surprised the tab with drinks was under 15 Euros. Recommend the pork souvlaki wrap!

Really tasty but prices have doubled in the space of a year on some items. Feels opportunistic. £5 for tzatziki and 2.50 for a can of coke is ridiculous

A friend had recommended this place and we were not disappointed. The bread, the fillings, the taste were very good. You have a choice of grilled meats or the shaved ones from the rotisserie. It’s simple and nice and good choices. We were able to sit outside on a nice afternoon and whilst it’s more of a fast food, we all enjoyed the experience and will go again as a nice break from shopping in Guildford.

I've only had chicken gyros here, and it's so good I'm not interested in anything else... chicken gyros every time. This place is tucked away in a neat little attractive alleyway. There are tables inside and outside, beer in the fridge and very fast service. It's my favourite spot for a quick lunchtime meal in guildford.

I'm reaching out to you guys because I feel that we are a family now. I've been a lifelong fan of Meat the Greek, and I remember the days of the £3.50 yeeros wraps like it was yesterday. But today's prices are not the reason for this review. I would've happily paid up to £10 for a wrap back in those days. But now, not so much. The quality of the yeeros has deteriorated far beyond my wildest imagination. Every component of its construction from the meat to the pita is just SO DRY. Where are the fervent meat juices that so intimately tantilised my tastebuds? Why are the fries so shrivelled and dehydrated, lacking any kind of seasoning that once made them great? The lack of mustard mayo? I could go on, but I won't. You know what you've done! Cheaped out on quality until your product was nothing more than a shell of its former glory. Please fix it! All life depends on it.

Visiting Athens for the first time from the US. I’ll be back here every time I visit. The owner is great! Grows his own olives and produces his own olive oil. Food was delicious and super filling. If I could give it more stars I would. (Bonus: very clean restroom!)

The food here used to be amazing but unfortunately the whole experience has gone down hill in the last year. Prices have gone up drastically but the portion sizes has gone down. I never used to finish a Chicken Yeeros box meal but now I can finish it and still feel hungry.

Best wraps in the area for sure. The extra virgin olive oil they sell there is also good. The only disappointing thing for me is that they don’t sell the chocolate baklavas anymore 😁

Gyros! Whats not to like!! Pork gyros platter is mint. Chips and flat bread are boss and a nice onion and tomato salad to boot. Ztakziki is lush

Really very tasty gyros! However, a plate is now £14, and it's not the size it used to be I don't think. I realise prices go up, but all the same it's quit e a change I think. We came a few times in lockdown to help support our local favourties and the portions have got smaller since then. Even my very average eating 10 year old could polish one off with ease. Also, there's quite a small amount of tatziki on the plate, maybe a tablespoon, not nearly enough for the amount of meat and bread. It also came with about 1/4 of a tomato, sliced. When we asked for a spoonful more tatziki we we offered to purchase a pot for a price. At £45 for one adult and two kids, for effectively a small kebab and chips, squeeezed on to a small table in a cold draught, I don't think it's too much to let us have a spoonful more as an inclusion in the meal. There are several local posh turkish and lebanese restaurants that would charge around £15 for a two skewer plate of chicken or lamb, lots of salad and unlimited bread, in a smart setting with waiter service. And that's pure meat cubes, this is gyros. Come on chaps, I think your prices are a bit too high, and you're being a bit stingey now! There was another couple/yound family squeezed up next to us, who also mentioned how the sizes seem to have reduced and prices raised. The food earns 5 stars, but I have to give only 3 stars overall, sorry. Be a bit more generous next time someone asks for a little more tatziki.

I loved this palce, it was once great and well priced. But year on year they are upping the price. Now the price is far too high! It used to be £4.20 for a wrap, great. £5, understandable increase. £6, ok now thats taking it too far. Now its £6.50. and everything else on the menu has increased by more at every update.

The most sad thing I saw in the UK, was the restaurant REFUSE access to a person with a SERVICE DOG 🐕‍🦺 Eating outside is not an option with -5°C About the flavor dishes I suggest Kebab with meatball with Philadelphia cheese and chips inside and one big launch with special prices from £9 to £12, I normally share the big one, it's enough for two persons. In the summer seasonality the restaurant have a lot a people and the place was out of control, wating for a desk can take you an houre, nobody gives an order according the people arriving like a hostes.

Out of this world pita wrap, fair price for an English takeaway and super quick service despite a queue, lovely interior and plenty of pavement seating. I can't wait to return tomorrow

- pita chicken souvlaki (£6) - mixed souvlaki meal (£12.50) an absolute gem in guildford! it does get busy here but the service is actually very quick and i definitely understand why because the food was so fresh and delicious! i will be craving this forever ESPECIALLY those tomatoes🤤 i wasn’t a huge fan of the mayo mustard sauce icl i think tzatziki would’ve been better but other than that, PERFECTION🤌

Excellent establishment, DONT BE FOOLED BY THE OUTSIDE SIGN, the indoor is fantastic and the food is great, the shawarma has a combination of mouth shocking flavours and brings me all the way back to a hot summer's day in Greece. The meats here are also fantastic and the shop owners are friendly, offered me a discount of 0.5% on orders over 1000 pounds, I think they were joking but If I did buy 1000 pounds worth of great greek food I know I would get 5 pounds of because I trust the owners as they are honest hard workers. In conclusion MEAT the greek restaurant is a great addition to the guilford infrastructure and I really hope they succeed far into the future, hopefully they open to franchising for investors.

This place has the perfect ratio of quality to price; and style as well as substance. Really nice hipsterfied Greek fare, but none of those tiny street food portions. Lovely skewers, chips and pita.

Spent £12:50 for a main meal and after finishing it I feel starving, the portion size is way too small, on top of that the customer service is terrible, the man at the counter looked liked he didn't want to be there. I DO NOT RECOMMENDED THEM AT ALL!!!

I had a friend coming over for dinner and didn’t feel like cooking so we decided to order a takeaway from here and were not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious and arrived within about 25mins which I thought was brilliant (ordered via Deliveroo). It was so nice to have a takeaway that wasn’t heavy or dripping on grease- if anything, it felt like a slightly healthier option so we were super happy. The souvlaki is sooo good and the Greek salad was one of the best I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this place to anyone -a must try in Guildford! Thank you Meat the Greek Team xx
