Will NEVER be back! overpriced food, wrongly charged and not received what we ordered. Have tasted much better elsewhere. Very poor customer service

The portions are really small, the food was expensive, no batter on the chicken fillet burger, wrong order and cheeky staff when told the order was wrong, sad to see what once once a really good chippy going down this route

Costumer service is horrible, my friend asked if he had a fork with his dinner and they said “naw u don’t” instead of offering him one he had to ask for one, the gravy tastes like pure salt, gravy is also watery, when I was in a boy told them to there face that he wouldn’t be back then the girl starting mocking him after he left, this is very disappointing, and will not be back.

Regularly vist mcnultys but always seem disappointed now. Got a regular chip and gravy and the portion was tiny and cost 4.95.if ID ordered a small I could understand but it said regular which should have been sufficient. Had to give my son half of my chips to fill him up. Fish has got much smaller and they don't seem to care about crispy batter any more, it's just soggy and heavy and gone up to over 10.00 . I've bought bigger fillets of cod in tesco. Will have to try somewhere else as this is not value for money

Have lived in limavady all my life and always frequent in here. The food has never been as good since it changed hands. I was shocked when I went in here for food tonight. We got a curry burger , a Sunday special, and a chip. And it was 16.50! The curry burger has increased a full £1 since we last got it in March. The Sunday special was always 5.95, it’s now 7.50. I can understand a price increase in this. But the prices have jumped massively. A chip was 3.95!!! I could understand if you got a decent portion of food like you do in other places. But my god. Apart from going for a kids meal for a lunch time at work I will not be coming back here for dinner. I dread how much it would cost to feed a family of 4!

Chips excellent but fish very much reduced in quantity, and the batter now very thick and heavy. Last two visits very disappointing on account of this

Been going to McNulty's for years and wouldn't go anywhere else in the town, food is amazing, portions are great and plenty of variety for all the family. The staff are always friendly and very helpful, always have had a pleasant experience in McNulty's... Would highly recommend.

Amazing foods and service by far the best chippy in limavady. Definitely be back. Workers are lovely and welcoming and the fish suppers are the best we have ever had.

This used to be the best chip shop in North West but now not even the best in Limavady. This evening two well done fish suppers were barely done and soggy. Last two visits disappointing. We won’t be back

Ordered plain cheese burger, came with onions. Arrived at time of pickup, told they forgot about the sausages, had to wait another 10min, therefore cold chips and burger. Have to say worst chippy meal I had for a long time. Sad to say but honest review, hope they take it on board

I would highly recommend McNultys, I live in Coleraine & I travel here at least twice a week & the reason being is the food is cooked fresh to order, they take the time to use proper potatoes not frozen pre prepared chips like other places - they are also double fried meaning they are crispy outside but so soft on the inside. The portion size is fantastic, my son gets the kids meal & it is the perfect portion size, I get a Sunday special which is the chicken breast with chips peas & a choice of gravy or curry, my preference is the gravy and as you can see from the photo the portion size is perfect. The staff are friendly, attentive & take the time to speak, despite being busy they double check the order to ensure I am getting what I ordered. They also ensure that my order is double bagged as I make them aware I’m travelling home with it so it’s still warm when I reach Coleraine which is a bonus. The chips are absolutely beautiful & the rest of the food is also so so tasty, it never repeats on me like others would have, never greasy and tastes Devine, yes I’ve had to wait at times on my order but I am patient as it’s well worth waiting for & waiting & being patient is a small price to pay for food that’s cooked fresh and tastes so good. I can see why it is always busy as the food speaks for itself. I’ve read other reviews and I can hand on heart say I’ve never had any problems with McNultys staff or food & I would highly recommend anyone to try it & it is well worth travelling for. Full credit to the staff for serving fantastic food even when working under pressure. I also know others that travel from Coleraine specially for it, I just was hopeful of one opening closer to me as it really is that good😊

My husband and I were staying for a short break with friends in the Limavady area . We called in with an order for food at McNultys . Only we were hungry and had paid for our food I would have taken my business elsewhere. I have never met a more ruder lady that served us. The food was good but just a pity the customer service was so bad and this was a £35.00 order. I hope this lady doesn’t represent the rest of the staff at McNultys.

My wife ordered food for the family on mcnultys online app at 1630 with a collection time at 2000. I attended at 2005 when app said food was ready for collection only to go in and be told it wasnt ready and to wait outside for a phone call. At 2020 food still wasnt ready and I asked when it would be only to be told they had no idea. Manager was rude and kept telling me to get outside. Given the poor manners and standard of service and having no idea how long food was going to be i asked for refund only to be told no problem that will be put back on the card. No one appeared to make effort to do refund on card machine and as such i asked for receipt. Manager told me it would be done later as she was to busy and i was holding her up from preparing other peoples orders. I explained politely that i would remain until i got a receipt to show refund had been made to be threatened that i had stepped over a line and was on CCTV. When receipt was provided my wife received a phone call to be told to take her custom elsewhere in future. Horrible manners and cheek from Manager for no reason. Manners cost nothing

We visited McNulty’s on the weekend whilst on a family trip and it did not disappoint, without a doubt the best fish and chips I have had in a long time! Well worth the visit and the staff are welcoming and friendly 👍👍👍

Food was great, service was slow due to covid restrictions. But oh my! The portion size of the cod was at the most 50% of what is expected! They seriously need to sort their portion sizes out or they will start losing customers.

Just bought a 'fish supper' from mcnultys as a takeaway. The supper consisted of 2 dried out halves of fish and half a bag of dried out chips. Terrible. Wont be back.

Been going here since I’ve been a child always lovely food. Remember when it was owned by the grandparents always friendly staff and lovely people. Just recently been taken over by original owners son.

I popped in tonight for a fillet burger, waited while staff member had conversation with another customer, finally took my order and had to wait 25 minutes, only one guy cooking burger, another customer came in and the staff member ignored him and he then left, never going there again.

Do you ever just fancy a bag of chips. Well on the way back from a walk on Castlerock beach, Mrs C decided we’d have A Bag of Chips. Glad we did and glad we went back to McNultys. Perfectly cooked, lovely fluffy chips. Recommended ( After a walk obviously! )

The best cod and chips for miles. It’s the only fish and chip shop I’ve ever eaten from where I don’t feel I’ve been naughty......meaning, it’s not oily or greasy.

I will try and keep this review objective. If you read my previous review you will see that portion size was my issue.McNulty’s have, as I understand had a change of management recently, so having avoided it for a few years I decided to give it another go. On the positive side the portion sizes have improved substantially which is great. The food is excellent and when served I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cannot fault the quality of the food in this chip shop but the service I received was my real problem.First return visit they forgot to put on my order of chicken bites until I complained having watched others come and go having come in after me. Not impressed but the food when I got it was great so I tried again to see how I would get on.Second visit this week I ordered a sausage supper and once again the chicken bites without the dip. The staff member asked me several times what dip I wanted and was told none. But it’s free he replied. What part of “I don’t want any” did he not understand? I waited and waited and waited watching other customers come in, get their food and go. I spoke to a customer in the queue who came in well after me and ordered his food about just how slow the food was in coming, when suddenly he was given his food, paid and left. I was still standing waiting when I eventually asked a very nice staff member where my order was and yes they forgot to put on the chicken bites as part of my order.When my order was finally was being made up by another staff member I was asked once again what dip I wanted. I said I didn’t want any and the reply I got was, “but it’s free.” I was getting quite annoyed by this point. Another member of staff asked if I wanted salt and vinegar to which I replied, “no.” As the order was being bagged up the staff member had the salt all ready to put it in and asked again if I wanted salt and vinegar. Guys you really need to listen to your customers replies when you speak to them. I left totally stressed out vowing never to return which is a shame as the food is really great. Pity the service wasn’t as good as the food. I appreciate we all make errors now and then but twice for me was twice too many. Lots of other good chips shops in Limavady.........

The smallest bit of fish I have ever seen about 5 inches by 2inches I counted 30 chips.ordered burger and chips,got no chips this place is getting worse keep thinking it will get better,will not be back

Great fish and chips. However the only flaw is with your order. Once in a while despite placing and paying for your order, you get home and discover the food you want is still at the chippy and you have someone else’s. Don’t let this put you off as the fish is usually very tasty and once in a while you don’t mind the surprise

I love love love their curry sauce it’s the nicest one I’ve ever tasted. It’s always very busy here as the food is amazing. Normally it is a bit of a wait but that’s NOT the staffs fault, they are normally working flat out. Would highly recommend McNultys but remember to go before your completely starving as you will have to wait for your order. But it’s worth the wait.

Cod was a bit soggy. The chips were okay but contained a large proportion of small fragments. This used to be an excellent fish and chip shop and won Best in Ireland for 13 years in a row but that was some years ago now.

Decided to go for a fish and chips on good Friday, most miserable portion ever. The owner must have been scared of the everybody going hungry and decided to start rationing the food, I’ll never be back. O’Briens is a much better chip shop to visit, you get what you pay for.

This place is a total joke I’ve just paid 3.95 for the smallest bit of cod I’ve ever seen in my life it was smaller than a length of a normal folk!!! And it’s such a shame cause the cod alway taste good! Just a pity the owner is a greedy man who thinks its acceptable to charge these prices for what u get!! Sort ur self out be4 u lose all ur trade

Friendly staff, good quality takeaways throughout the day at reasonable prices - if your in the area and looking for a takeaway meal this is the place.

This is a shop that serves quality products: succulent Portavogie fresh fish, beautiful Maris piper chips, free range eggs used in relevant servings and innovative additions to their menu. Eg. Pulled pork. This is one of the best if not the best fish and chip takeaway in Northern Ireland. Frozen tasteless fish and reheated chips come cheaper and possibly in larger portions. There are any amount of these shops to choose from.

Always passing through Limavady to visit family. Always stop costs an arm and let for good feed. Staff or very friendly except the older members makes you feel like you asked them for £100 and free food Food is good can see why they win awards. They offer specials during the day but you'd need to go fill you and am not a big man.Very over priced for what you get regular seems to be else where's smalls and large is a normal. Food is always perfect but price and portion size needs looked at and attitude of older members is awful. They have a new start with short blonde hair always goes out her way to be helpful and always professional and pleasant but I'd you have a hungry family stay clear or make sure you have saved a weeks wage to feed them as you won't have much change from £50. Like I said the good food brings me back but portions need looked at or price changed to match what you get. At least Cushy Glen wore a mask or a coat covering his face. Don't let portion size ruin an award winning great eatery!!!

i had a real bad experience earlier, ordered Cod and chips, such a small portion! I paid by card, the young girl tried twice, each time said declined, I was so humiliated to be told in front to other customers that my card had declined,I knew there money in bank, went out to car and got cash went straight to atm, just to double check! will be as long b4 im bk!

McNulty's built a reputation of being a very good fish and chip shop and won an award years ago. No doubt about the fact that their chips are very tasty BUT I have just arrived home and opened the fancy box they serve in to find a very tiny portion of cod, not a whole piece and less than half the portion I've had from other excellent chip shops. A bag of chips was also very small for the price charged. I feel as though I've been ripped off, I'm still hungry, and the poor dog didn't get any leftovers.

Called in for a quick tea , I wanted goujons and a few chips , not a full portion just a few , apparently this is not possible- it is everywhere else in NI , was a bit miffed ended up with 4 goujons , nice enough though just a bit disappointed

Limavady has an awful lot of chip shops to choose from. Personally I have always liked McNultys food but the only thing that prevents me using it regularly is the small size of the portions. Other chip shops nearby give you a portion of chips that would be enough to feed two people for a similar price. McNultys portions tend to be so small you have to order the more expensive large chip to get a proper sized portion. Portion of chips tend to consist of a lot of small crunchy bits with the chips which I don't want, which is a pity as the quality of the food is very food but just not a lot of it per portion. We have lived in Limavady for many years and it has generally always been the same, great food but small portions compared to other local chippies.

Long queues but worth it. Lovely light batter, crispy chips and delicious onion rings (the only onion rings I've ever actually liked). No wonder I'm fat with mcnultys nearby and serving such delicious fish and chips.

The worse bag of chips in 40 yrs!!!!! Uncooked, hard bag of grease so bad the birds refused to eat. Bought on Monday evening at 6pm and environmental health shud shut this place!!!!

Way too expensive and tiny portions. Staff couldn't care less about taking orders, more than twice i have been standing in queue at till for over 10minutes whilst at least 4 staff behind counter. Front of house clean and tidy but kitchen floors and machinery looks 'tired'.

Ordered some fish, whiting and a chip peas and gravy, the fish was smaller than normal, you used to get two pieces now one small one, but it was a nice fish, just bit small. They did throw in a few chips which was nice.

Tastes ok ...not best in n.i !! £4.80 for chips and what was supposed to be pulled pork (rotten). And cheese burger that costs a pound in McDonald's ands tastes better, is £2.10. It's not that the prices are extreme but it's not worth the size of the portion. If you want a real worthy chip shop visit the chip yard shore road whiteabbey ! Service is out of this world and the food is incredible, I even go out of my way to go here.

Having looked at tripadvisor and the generally good reports on this chippie, I was hughly disappointed with the meal served. Great looking menu and shop layout, but you need to get the basics right. Fish portion was small, although small and not swimming in chip fat would have been acceptable. Come on guys, you can do better.

Go to McNulty's quite often and every time I go there it is really enjoyable! The staff are friendly and the food is amazing! I totally disagree with all these people who think it is poor or terrible it is loads better than all of these chippys who have lots of young people working in them who don't have a clue how toake good fish and chips. The prices in McNulty's are really good as you get lots of food in one portion! This is a really nice chip shop that I enjoy going to every time!!!

We use McNultys each week and have never been dissappointed. The food is first class and the service is second to none.

I called in to the shop a few weeks before placing a large order for a birthday party as one of the children were diary free and I wanted to check what options were available to them. The staff working that day were very helpful with informing me what products and cooking methods were suitable, they then passed me onto the owner Brian who contacted me reassuring we would be taken care of and all dietary needs would be met. It was not a problem to have one of the meals prepared separately to the rest, the staff and Brian went above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed. Myself and the rest of the group were very grateful for their efforts! I must also mention the food was beautiful!!! I wouldn't go anywhere else and will recommend to anyone who will listen, particularly those with special dietary requirement as you were all so helpful. Thank-you again for accommodating us!! I have to admit the food in this fish and chip takeaway is of a good quality yet i couldnt say the same for the service. instead of cooking food they cared more for simply talking and thats all they done if they did not talk i would believe my meal would of been made 30 minutes quicker than how it origianlly had take. The price as well was extremely expensive and im never one to complain about the price but if your looking for a better meal deal then i recommend Julies (now known as tasty bites) which is a 5 minute walk from here and it is £2 for the same quantity with the food and the chips may taste a bit nicer but at least they dont cost the same amount of what a ferrari would cost

I love fish and chips. This place looked good and they had haddock on the menu...They didn't actually have any haddock. The fish portion was small and expensive af £3.65, i have to say it might not have been cod. The chips were nice but there were not enough of them, when you pay 2 quid a portion, such stinginginess on a high margin ingredient leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.I ordered mushy peas but got unused Marrowfat peas. £1.05 for a tiny portion. Not good at all.Bread roll- it was one of those cheap long life burger buns, flavourless and not worth the £1(ish) I paid for it. A small bottle of cheap pop, the stuff that costs 35 in shops, 95p. Not great.Why is this place so expensive? It looks impressive, very clean, nice friendly staff to be fair. But another reason could be the packaging. It all comes in posh, branded cardboard trays. Personally I'd prefer cheaper and bigger portions wrapped in paper.It's popular with locals but it's not my cup of tea. Ironically, their tea is not that pricey. I use this chip shop regularly and have never had a bad experience. The fish and chips are a family favourite. The portion sizes arent huge which suits us fine, nothing worse than being over faced with bad food, but you won't have that problem here, the quality is first class the staff are friendly and it's spotlessly clean.

OMG why does this chip shop advertise COD and thats what you ask for and pay for but you get a poor subsitute!! it should not be allowed.. Come on wise up WE as customers no that we are being conned.. Other chip shops can give you COD when asked for surely yous can do the same.. We are paying customers we have the right to be given what we pay for.. Shame on yous!!

We stopped in for lunch while in Portglnone and had the best fish & chips we've had the entire trip in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The restaurant is located right on the main street in the town square and while carry out only, there are nice benches in the square to sit and eat while watching people go by.

Service was terrible. Cheecky bald man served us and made us feel unwelcome. Terrible processed chicken nugets that fell apart and bad portions for the price

My son recently had a birthday party and we approached Brian and his team at McNulty's to provide the catering for the party as we knew the reputation they had and we were not disappointed. Brain was very accommodating, he provided 20 meals, each without fault and very tasty and everyone at the party comment on how great the food. Brain even followed up our order with a telephone call the next day to check everything was OK, now that's customer service. I couldn't recommend McNulty,s Fish and Chips highly enough.

Foods good and the staff are 100% they really are fast and helpful, this place has a big reputation round this area for its fish and chips. But the prices are a lot ore than any other chippy in limavady

I have eaten out of here on many occasions from there gluten free menu. The chicken goujons are really nice. My daughter is coeliac and absolutely loves them. You get a good portion for your money and the staff ensure there is no cross contamination with gluten containing ingredients. I would highly recommend you try the gluten free menu if you are coeliac.

We go to McNultys on odd occasion really like there chicken fillet burgers very good. But on quite a few occasions part off our order has been missing and since we live 20 mins away it's not exactly handy to go back. Chips are tasty if u like bitty chips but portion size is mean especially at the price. Good clean shop staff ok. Only go now and again as I stated earlier as it is a rather expensive treat having a mcnultys take out. Wouldn't recommend if u have a good appetite.

Mcnultys has a very good reputaion and is usually highly recommended so it was our 1st choice to drive (24mile round trip), wish i would have saved the £on diesel and went to local chippyFood is nice but far to over priced almost £8 for a chip gravy, battered saugage and bottle coke, and portion was small, had asked to put a big scoop of grAvy but was advised that i get as much as she puts in and should i add that i got a miserable portion of grAvy and only half my chips covered. Although place looks clean and chips are nice i will not b in a hurry back.

Answer : When it smells stinking when it comes out of the box and when you try to eat it you realise it's Pollock!! On top of this the chips were nice but very bitty, the end of a frying perhaps? Add to this the misleading advertising offering a £10 voucher to celebrate award success.It is in fact a loyalty card scheme where you have to spend £100 at Mcnulty's to get it.All this explains why we will never be back within this particular takeaway.It was anything but a quality experience!!

McNultys is by far the best chip shop in Limavady bar none. As a Limavadian myself I would thoroughly recommend McNutlys as it provides the best service and most importantly best food compared to the other establishments, which have came and went without much success. It has won many awards, and for good reason, brilliant!

Food is always very tasty and the staff are very friendly. McNultys is a little more expensive compared to the other chippy's in town.

The chips are lovely although if you are ordering a meal deal the chip portion can be on the small side. Burger was nice but the onion rings a little too greasy. Shop was clean and staff friendly. Would return as the chips were lovely.

My dad went in and ordered our food when I was at an audition. I had just made it on time as the food was just being put into the bag. We ate it in the car and it was really good. My dad got a good buy from them, for we got a chicken fillet burger meal with drink for £2 something, which was not that bad as most chippy's would cost £3 something for meals maybe £4. Really good food from this chip shop and would eat there again when I return to Limavady.

We moved our custom to the golden chipper a couple of yrs ago. However, one busy sunday evening we decided not to wait and try mcnultys. It was great. Tasty and portions were good. We didnt remember why we moved away!The following week we came back again. Terrible. One miserable piece of fish and the average size of a bag of chips was super small even by a 6 yr olds standards. We thought it was a bad server. So we went for 3rd time lucky!!!!Or unlucky as would have it. Same again. Miserable. I know why we go to the golden chipper now!!Golden chipper is better priced and proper portion sizes. Sorry for not waiting in line the first night. The free 10 pound offer must be taking its tole on profits, cause they reduced the amount of chips in a bag to cover it!!!! The price of spuds must be rising rapidly in Limavady. Finished with this chippy.

Just after another tidy feed from this fine take away. I've been goin here now for a year on two when passing through to port rush ect and have yet to get a bad feedThe staff are always friendly and the place is always clean and tidyThere burgers are dam tasty and the fish isn't to be missedThanks

Burger just average nothing special ...Really tasty chips HOWEVER SO MEAN with their portion size I was still hungry after and I'm not big bulk - went to Golden Chipie and great value for money .... Now that is a bag of chips !!! McNultys stop being so greedy and serve a proper bag of chips ... You charge enough for them ! Staff also have the personality of wet cement - a smile costs nothing

Went back to mcnultys after not being there for quite a while. It certainly hasn't changed anyway. The staff are polite and well presented, the shop clean but the food was "just ok". Plenty of lunchtime specials but nothing for the evening. Seems to go against the family getting tea etc. Yes they have a loyalty card which helps in the current climate but you need to spend £10+ on 10 separate occasions to get your £10 voucher. Will suit the locals but not those passing through. Let's hope next time I'm there that the menu has had a revamp.

Mcnultys is the best fish and chip shop I've ever been to! Fish is to die for, chips are tasty. Portion size excellent and great value for money. The Staff are friendly and helpful, the shop itself is spotlessly clean. Having heard lots of great reports about the place, including someone from Basra Iraq just had to try Mcnultys for myself! So glad I did, ill definitely be back!! 10/10!
