I normally avoid this McDonalds but my dog and I took a late night walk tonight and I promised her chicken (nuggets 🤣) so I hoped to get the food via click and serve (which I wasnt aware is closed at this time of night). A lovely young girl (long hair and glasses - sorry I didn't catch your name) saw me outside by the drive through while working out the back area and asked if I needed help. She took my order for me and told me to wait on the tables out front and, bless her, she brought the food out to me and my dog! She went out of her way to help me and I really appreciate it (and so did my dog 🤣). Thanks again!!

Always cooked fresh, better than my local one

new bbq coke is madness would definitely recommend. bbq bacon crispy wrap without tomato and lettuce was a delight to my tastebuds. might have to start eating here every wednesday until i die. minus one star for lack of sugar donuts though, absolutely devastated.🤑🤑🤑

I bought a meal at this mcdonalds yesterday. Received a free chicken nuggets voucher on the cup. Went to use it the next day and was told the voucher had already been used.

The manager it was a lady with white shirt she was rude to us we got the fries cold and didn't get one of my burger which i orderd When i asked the manager to give me another fries as the fries i got was cold she was murmuring at my face Bad experience

Took great granddaughter to redeem a mcflurry and doughnut and believe it or not the mcflurry machine not working and unable to give a doughnut, this seems to be a common theme across macdonalds as this was the third one today. SAME EXCUSES.....

Was cold and the fries only filled the carton half way also asked for 3 double cheese burher meals when i got home i just had normal cheese burgers

Newport road McDonald's is the worst of them, very rarely get an order right. Only take half of your order at the drive though then have to make corrections at the till because the staff are more interested in being on the mobile phone than taking the orders of waiting cars, their were 2 cars in the queue my car being one of them and we still had to wait 10 minutes before a voice came over to ask for our order, we noticed the same had been done to the car in front of us, as we moved round to the 1st window to pay we I (not the driver) noticed the 2 girl's were more interested in playing with their mobile phones, I must say her pink phone case could do with a clean. I do question how they are still operating! While also questioning why I still continually go there occasionally when I know it'll be wrong, cold, missing items or they just can't be bothered to follow guidelines.

Went through drive through. Had to go in because items were missing. The girl had an attitude as if I was trying to get free food. I just spent 40 didn't need free food just expect to get the food I paid 4

Worst McDonald's around. The tables were so messy and the staff didn't care at all I was looking for a clean table for like 5 mins. No hats on half the crew and definitely no hair nets and just wearing their own jumpers. The lady came to bring food and tipped the ketchup over our table and it went everywhere and didn't even come to clean it up or give us napkins

Every time ordering through the drive through you have to park up and wait AT LEAST 10-15 minutes, even waited 25 once. The staff clearly know it’s a joke because they apologise ‘for being annoying’

Well, that was a fun trip. Drive thru was so slow. When we eventually got our food. It was the wrong order. Service to replace the whole meal was brilliant mind. Well, we have visited a few more times without any problems at all. Food has always been spot on, hot, and plentiful. Service has always been great.

Incompetent, rude, inexperienced management. Dismissive, argumentative and flat out lying at the drive through because of their system reset after 4am. I asked to explain a bit further when they just shouted at me to order my coffee inside. They just turn their headset off. I get some attention at the window, speak to the manager who was the one who was rude over the headset. Tell me they can't help disabled customers by walking 5 feet behind them to place my order and walking the 5 feet back. Then they brought their most muscle bound buffoon to stand by her and stare me down! I can't even be bothered to list the other unprofessionalism during this encounter. This manager should be terminated immediately. I'd be happy to share details so they can improve their staff, but there is no way to complain to McDonald's other than calling the store in question and asking for the manager.

I orderes around 11.45pm and didnt come untill gone half 12am😭 not being funny it was frezzing as well WASTE OF MONEY! 3 BURGERS JUST DONT ORDER FROM UBEREATS! messed about finding driver after driver

It's ok. Often busy. Small car park to rear. Like any other MacDonalds drive through.

Food was freezing cold and undercooked and when you contact them the staff and the management don’t want to know and are very rude I believe they should be closed down for safety reasons as the hygiene and the way they serve food is a risk to health and when you ask for the contact details for the franchise owner to inform them on how they are putting people at risk they refuse to give you any details this is that bad there is an ongoing case with the food standards agency

Ordered delivery through just eat, the large coke was half full and flat & no straw, the large latte was half full and lid not on properly, it came off as I drank from it. Ordered 5 dips, did not get 1, ordered a veggie deluxe, and got a bun with just shredded lettuce & mayo in it.... absolutely disgusted

Disappointed in my recent order. Ordered a large big tasty meal - fries box was half empty and the burger was all in bits.

I had decided to place an order at the till and pay cash; the person who came couldn't recognise notes/coins, couldn't figure how I could have a burger without the sauce as I asked. I was given the wrong change (slightly more); I handed back a moment later, but to someone else, telling them that I hope this would help balancing the till (but it wouldn't have) and briefly explained what happened.

Food was a bit cold and not the best. Not hard to get right so dissapointing.

Warm milkshake but that's nothing new, cheese burger cold. Every time I go to Newport road macdonalds there seems to be something wrong either chips cold or nuggets cold or even just syrup instead of coke. Please get it sorted. We have the right to eat hot food.

I visited this abomination of a McDonalds and I have to say worst experience ever. I was greeted by some thug running around the drive through begging for money to feed his addictions I felt like I was in a povo area. And then I ordered a basic meal and to my disgust I was greeted by some young girl who sounded like a degenerate and in need of a hit on a vape. I was then made to park up for a further 30 ish minutes for raw fries. Will not be coming again. I suggest people drive a bit further down for the Starbucks.

Waited 10 minutes for food .ordered a big mac meal and ended up with a spicy fillet burger.

Drive through sat waiting for over 20 mins. Meanwhile other customers arrived & told to park up 10 mins after me had their food & driven off. Chips under cooked, soggy & cold as was the 2 quarter pounders ordered. Sprite was just water. Worst service I have ever had.

Me and my partner ordered our food. We had to wait over a hour for our food. We had table service. But our ordered did not come to our table. My partner had to go speak to the staff and they was not very helpful and they had to put our food ordered though again and we had to wait again for our food. When our food finally came to our table it was stone cold and I had to speak to staff again. It has put us off coming here again

Tge place is dirty, staff are dirty, no gloves no hair cover - staff are touching their face and cloth and serving food. The floor is dirty, I almost slipped and fell. McChivken was cold, fries had no salt.

Went through the drive thru 28/12. Two muffin meals one meal the muffin was burnt on the edges. 2nd had a large piece ripped off and was cremated more than my grandmother on the underside.

Ice cream was melted, food was cold, prices gone up high

Unbelievably bad McDonald’s. This branch needs shutting down, it’s clearly beyond all repair. Every time I’ve gone there, I’m disappointed. Chips come out dry, tasting like cardboard, and they’re cold. Burgers come out cold. Drinks taste like water with the merest hint of Coca Cola syrup, and not fizzy. I cannot understand how a McDonald’s can get the basics so catastrophically wrong for so long. This McDonald’s is terrible quality, and terrible value for money. I’ve even complained about the store to McDonald’s themselves, so I can at least get my money back, and seemingly it’s still as bad as ever. I just can’t get my head around how this branch is still going.

Went through the drive through tonight and it was honestly the best drive through experience we've had because of Malakai who took our order efficiently and with lots of humour. More people like him working for McDonalds please!

Food arrived cold and was missing main item then offered less than half the value of item as refund. Shocking service at Newport Road branch, will never order again.

20 nuggets at the drive throw, not told of any problems when placing my order, only get to second window to be told there is only sweet chilli sauce, reason, they had a busy day . This is very poor. This is not the first this has happened here at Newport Rd . Poor ordering I would say .

I went to have a nice dinner we ordered off the app so the food came to our table in the restaurant. The food came and my order was wrong silly me just thinking I messed it up so I ordered it again and gave my food to someone else and they got it wrong the second time I went up to the counter to let them know and they said there’s barbecue sauce in there this looked like the most miss placed burger I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t dream of paying for a burger this bad. The burger was hanging out of the buns with 3 fine diced onions a pickle and a speck of sauce it went to having food with my family to rethinking going here again.

Only McDonald's in cardiff ever open 24/7 and I can say it is the worst. Service is always long, never fast food. 9 times out of 10 your food is cold and missing items. They serve tea and coffees half full. Honestly this place is a disaster and higher management need to get a hold off it.

The fries abs food usually not hot enough like luke warm atmosphere is impersonal, service at till is average too preoccupied with deliveries to bother much with clients tables not always clean

Dine in | Lunch | £10–20 Kind of joking, have my sandwiches with all the salads around not inside. I come to complain and the young staff said it’s what it’s we are busy. The young team of staff will destroy the McDonald’s reputation (if they have one) One year eating in the Burger King but this time I was close to the McDonald’s of Newport road and I decided to give another chance for the McDonald’s but, do you know what? Getting worse day by day.

Went in to order food at 2.20am to have to stand there for a while in a empty restaurant for about 10 mins then when I did order and ended up leaving with my food to get home to find out they only stuck half of my order in there there was 3 missing burgers and a fries... so won't be going there again

I had food delivered less than 0.5 miles away from the restaurant it was absolutely appalling. It was stone cold and the 2 bottles of cold water I ordred was in the paper bag with my 2 meals. When phoning the restaurant I apparently had 2 managers on the phone, which I beg to differ. As a result on my conversations with 2 of the staff. Nothing was rectified and they told me there was nothing either of them could do to resolve my Cold inedible food, other than to contact deliveroo. I'm appalled by the service and standards on both parts. If we had consumed the food we would have been Extremely ill.

Only one comment which is the toilets are not cleaned properly!!

If you are ordering via Ubereats from this location please think twice. Almost every order I receive is missing the dips, bit of a pain when you order mozzarella dippers and end up with nothing to dip them in......EVERY time! We ordered 2 portions of chips, they were not even half full! Not such a big deal but you should receive the portion you pay for!

Although it was not the busiest period when we visited, the food was still good fresh and was very hot. The place was very clean and the magic tables looked cool. First time I have seen it.

Food the usual standard but the place was disgusting, seemed to be no one cleaning the tables or floor.

The staff there are so rude most of them especially managers. Instead of serving me for fast customer service, two co-workers decided to have a conversation about work and their life. The coke is ALWAYS flat! As if they never change the machine. Burger kings coke is so much nicer and fresh! They NEVER have ice and i mean they NEVER have ice. Always mess my orders up or at least forget something. Or I'm given the wrong order. The food is always steal cold and never cooked fresh. The chips are always undercooked and freezing. Sometimes they can be warm but as if they have been under the heat lamp all day. One time i caught a staff member or manager not wearing a hair net and her hair was in a long ponytail which covered over the chips. I honestly don't know how anyone would want to work in a Mcdonald's. So underrun and they never hire the right staff. Just people who are desperate for jobs and money. (No or fence) Another issue is the place is NEVER clean. If you look behind the till they floor is absolutely bogging. For a multi millionaire company - it really has the wrong staff and service. Not the best look on the company. Upper your game McDonalds! Higher your pay and people might actually enjoy their job enough to work there.

The amount of times my food comes cold or wrong is unbelievable so I stopped using it as not worth the money and can’t be dealing with incompetent people. My son had food today that I paid for and again the order was wrong and after me complaining we were refused a refund, I will not be using this branch in future , I mean it’s not hard to follow simple instructions.

How not to run a McDonalds! You go there for fast food, not really slow food while skimping on portion sizes. Check out the photo for what passes for a medium fries at this restaurant. We were told the wait was because they were doing fresh quarter pounders. They were about as fresh as a Bernard Manning joke book. They might as well have had someone sit on it to warm it up. Not good, and Five Guys opening up two doors down does not bode well for them. Hoping the Pontprennau McDonalds opens up again soon!

Horrible experience today we came in and a ordered and had to find a decent table to sit on families had to clean there own table no one was on restaurant floor out food came cold we had gone off sauces half our order was missing we asked a lady for some sauces she said yes and did not come back so we had to go up our self’s messy tables where everywhere no body was cleaning them no one was polite our food was stale the buns where rock solid drinks where half full we highly recommend not coming to Newport road mc Donald’s. As this is not the first time.

Went on a busy Saturday, but pleasantly surprised, plant burgers served quickly and correct, sat down to eat, all good.
