Batter isn’t as crunchy as it could be but overall the chips are lovely Bit of a dead atmosphere but i don’t go there for the atmosphere

Very expensive and lacking in customer service, basically blanked me until I ordered. Avoid the saveloys, they're mushy and tasted off. Made me feel sick, won't be returning. Only upside is the portion sizes.

Paid with a £20 note claimed I paid with a £10 note. Refusing to show me the CCTV footage of the till claiming that they have zero access during working hours. Disgraceful avoid this plac they are in it for the hussle.

Visited this place after an year, the place has changed, greased fish poor chips, only cash, and expensive, thank you won’t be coming back

Last few times I’ve been there it's either there is no where to park or the shop is shut during it’s posted opening hours, with a note on the door. When it is open the chips are okay at best. As a chippy if you don’t open or when you do the chips aren’t decent it’ll just be another coffee shop. Decades of Humpteys good name going to waste. The next nearest one never has any chips in the fryer for food in the go so it’s a toughie.

10/10, decent food, excellent and honest service. Would recommend anytime and to anyone.

Good food and friendly efficient counter staff. Do take cash (nearby costcutter inside ATM and tesco outside ATM, both free withdrawals) as the don't currently take card payments, but also allow you to get cash out after ordering.

The batter on the fish isn't too thick, flaky moist fish and yummy chips

One Star omg this needs to be shut down and deep cleaned. Chips not crispy most of them had black bits on. Fish was off ended up in the bin after the guy with glasses said it smelt ok. Well it didn't broke it ihalf smelt like wee Google it when got home that's a sign of neumonia .

Great food, lovely flakey cod with a crispy batter. Perfect.

If you’re going to charge £18 for two small cod and chips at least make sure the cod is decent. Sorry to say but this time was the worst cod from there I can remember. Watery, soggy batter, tasteless. Will not be going back in a hurry.

Nice fish and chips , cooked to order so be prepared for a wait , but it's worth it. Will definitely use again and recommend that you try it .

This fish and chip shop has lost its heart, such a shame when f n c is a English treat for years! Soggy limp chips, not as many as last time I went there about a year ago. Not getting what you pay, is expensive for what it is. Chips awful! Very disappointed, think owner needs to give up or give the customer the weekly treat he deserves

Best fish and chips I've had in a long time!!

Just tried to call to explain about my order but no answer even though it wasn’t busy in there. Chips are greasy as though oil has not been changed, not crispy at all. bread roll smells of fish?!? Disappointing :(

Ordered several large cod and chips. Cod was unbelievably thin, basically more batter than fish. Guy behind the till gleefully said he was putting extra cod in on the order to make up for the small looking large cod and chips. Lucky us!!! , we got extra batter and no fish. How we miss the previous owners before these cowboys took over. We have given them the benefit of the doubt four times now. Never again.

It was only a few years ago a weekly treat below £15 for two when it was Humphries but the last two years an expensive luxury at nearly £20.

chips were very nice, and so was the fish and battard sausages. But was dear compared to what I pay at my local chippy.
