Mazi in Kensington and Chelsea

Used to love this place but it's lost it. Managers are quite rude, music was terrible and loud, they messed up out order. Do yourself a favour and go to Suzi Tros instead.

Mazi truly stands out as an incredible restaurant, offering delicious food. Adding to the charm is Shreya, the waiter, who is undoubtedly one of the best in London. All in all, Mazi provides an amazing dining experience, making it a fantastic place to enjoy delicious meals.

The room is quite small so it can get crowded but the food is so delicious, made with fresh ingredients and good portions for sharing. Definitely recommend trying the jars!

The whole experience was extremely good and tasteful.We tried the Oysters and the sea bass tartare.Both of them were delicious. Furthermore we orded the savoy cabbage and the Lamp with broccoli,once more we were speechless.The staff was extremely polite and helpful specially the lady with the name Helena .Thank you guys for the magic journey of flavours.See you again 🥰🥰

Exceptional place to have lovely mouth watering dinner

First of all, I want to apologise for rating too low because the staff were so nice and kind, and the food looked amazing. I love the concept of sharing all the plates with everyone on the table. However our first dish had a dead fly on the plate. They changed the dish immediately after we told them, but I can't understand how they didn't see it while serving. The next dishes were clean, however the tastes were too mixed and the fusion of different flavours were not too successful in our opinion. I don't know which part of these food was Greek. They were either too salty or savoury. For the main dish, we ordered wild cod, with mussels, and they didn't clean the mussels enough because 2/3 people had to chew stones with them. It was very disappointing for how they look and what you pay. They gave us a dessert on the house, which was mediocre as well, but can I say it is the thought that counts... I am not sure. I sadly don't recommend this place.

What a fabulous local restaurant. Couldn't fault it. The food is absolutely delicious, with some twists on the greek favourites. Our waiter was just delightful. The greek wine that was recommended to us was great. And the overall ambience of the restaurant is just lovely. We will definitely be back.

I visited the contemporary Greek fusion restaurant Mazi in Notting Hill 2017, and had a delicious meal. I have wanted to return ever since. Now, six years later, the ambition, curiosity and care you would expect from a highly acclaimed neighborhood restaurant is nowhere to be found. First, the service was surprisingly poor. The waiters are uninterested and unattentive to the vibe in the room. They only preform the ‘mechanical task’ of putting food on the table and they ask the obligatory ‘did it taste good’-questions. They didn’t explain anything about the dishes. They all seemed board, and didn’t seemed to have any knowledge about the menu and wine. Considering the price level (I paid 62£ for one person), you would expect that the waiters would be interested in their job. Second, the food was completely anonymous without any creativity and character. I ordered a Greek ‘Dakos’ salad (which was identical as in any contemporary Greek taverna) and the mushroom chicken with truffles. The chicken was very mediocre, and the puré and mushrooms were as you would expect in a conventional pub. The dish did not contain anything interesting and/or challenging elements. The reason I give Maxi this bad review is because the price and the reputation of the restaurant make you expect more ambition and care.

We had dinner in this restaurant suggested by a friend. The food was good and innovative, I especially recommend the feta tempura and the carpaccio. By the way, the place was a little bit noisy and crowded and the thing that we also disliked in particular is the fact that they added, without asking, £17 for the "discretionary service". When asking explanation they sad it was not mandatory but in fact we had already paid so nothing could be done to have our money back...

Lovely ambience and very friendly staff. I hosted a Christmas party for my client here and they were so happy with food and the great collection of wine Mazi offers. Bharat & Dora at Mazi are amazing when it comes to hospitality :) Highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again!!

Very surprised and pleased with our lunch experience. The food was inventive and very tasty. Thus is supposed to be a Greek restaurant but I never had food like this in Greece. The service was excellent. The ambience just ok. We will certainly return again and again.

I had not been back in several years to Mazi as it’s not exactly the cheapest restaurant and I regretted so as soon as I tasted the food because it is truly delicious. FOOD For starters you want their dips in jars, if you are a group, just take all of them, they are so so good and so addictive. I’m a bit disappointed with the bread, I feel like they used to serve pitta bread but it’s now just regular bread which could definitely be improved. Hot plates we loved the courgette cakes and the feta tempura. Then for mains we shared the octopus and ossobucco which were both sensational but must say the ossobucco got an “awe that’s delicious” from everyone at the table. Everything is so tasty so I’m sure you can’t go wrong. Paid £192 for 4 people with no drinks. STAFF/SERVICE Average at best I would say, didn’t seem to caring in my opinion, a bit more Greek love would be great. PS: wouldn’t recommend to vegans

Great modern take on greek cuisine absolutely loved Mazi. firstly, their greek wine selection is great. I am a french wine kinda guy, but was able to find a great bottle that works well with the meal and my taste pallet. The restaurant is small with a great vibe. staff were super sweet, welcoming and kind. The food was great. at least most of it. I would skip all dips as they were very bland and pointless and focus on the starters and mains. simply each and every one was accurate and delicious. the grilled octopus was great. the ossobuco was probably my favorite. the fried feta with honey and meringue was also interesting and great. honestly, a great restaurant with great take on greek food. desserts were light and went well with the meal we’ve had.

Look green food is refreshing and awesome when it’s in it’s made in it’s simplest form. But what Mazi do is make that even better. How? No idea but I can taste it. And you definitely should check them out. If you look at my attached pictures and it doesn’t make you want to eat there you, you don’t like good food.

Small plates for sharing, food was good but pricey. Could be because they can charge that in Notthing HIll. We were in London and met friends there. I didn't understand the push to have us order as quickly as possible or we would lose our place in the kitchen queue. The male waiter was great the female waiter was a little pushy. Maybe that is the convenience of being in a trendy place where there is demand.

I was expecting more probably. I revisit the place after a long time and although they changed the menu, the service could be better. Overpriced

We had a really amazing time. We sat at the terrace and the vines gave a lovely shade. Service was outstanding and the food was really really nice. We ordered a bit of everything and shared and everything was divine. No doubt I’ll come back again and again and recommend to family and friends. Well done Mazi

I found it a bit too overpriced, tasty but too gourmet-like portions. It's a cute residential restaurant but it needs to take it easy with the prices.

We booked in for a 7.30pm sitting in the garden. We were told we needed to order quickly as possible to get the order in the kitchen. The waitress was extremely bossy and continued to tell us not to order red wine or that we shouldn't order 3 desserts as it would be too much for 5 people. We ordered a number of plates for sharing. We got the truffle chicken and the osso bucco which had the exact same far too rich gravy on both. We were repeatedly told we had to leave the terrace at 9.30 and were rushed out even though we had not finished our wine. They should not allow sittings in the garden if they are going to put people under extreme pressure. Also 13.5% tip was included in our bill which most certainly was not deserved. Would not be going back. Food was far too rich and service was terrible and rude.

Beautiful place, loved the concept of the different categories of dishes and having them in this particular sequence. A lot of variety of dishes while keeping true to the authentic Greek cuisine. Lovely Greek staff too. I would definitely visit again and would love to try every single dish.

Mouth watering food, in particular the fish tartare, fish carpaccio, prawn orzo and black truffle chicken. Very nice and professional staff and pretty good atmosphere (can get quite loud inside). Would recommend to extra main course instead of desert (desert is good but the mains are just so much better). Prices are very high (~40/50£ without drinks) but need to be in a mood where prices don’t matter to properly enjoy the experience. Only negative point is that bread is 4£ for 5 pieces of bread and you end up using it for the dips in the beginning and you don’t have any leftover for the magnificent sauces of the mains.

I wanted a 1pm table but they would only offer 12.30or 2pm , not that they were busy ! The last time I went to a Greek restaurant was the Halepi off Queensway 45 years ago , and the food here did not seem very Greek ! But the food was very tasty , a very nice space with tables outside .the waitress were very efficient Always had one hand behind her back when pouring drinks . Not a cheap eats .

Came here for lunch with out 10 month old by chance. The waitress kindly suggested getting him some plain orzo with butter, although she did see we had brought him lunch. It seemed like a friendly gesture and we agreed. He quite liked the orzo (although extremely salty) and we were very pleased about the experience. After we paid, we noticed we had been charged £10 for “Orzo Tomato”. This felt very deceptive. We were made to believe the pasta was on the house. It ruined our whole experience. The £10 was bad enough, but the dishonesty is what upset us most. Other things to note: - we were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We asked for tap. We got a bottle to the table which was already open, so assumed it was tap filled into a bottle. We were charged for a still bottle of water. - whether or not you enjoy the food here is rather subjective. We did not think anything we ordered was particularly Greek inspired nor particularly tasty. The bill was just over £100 with no drinks consumed. It felt very poor value. - we had one dip with bread, 2 hot plates and one signature dish. We’d skip the signature dish next time (both because we were full and because it wasn’t nice. Alas, we won’t actually be coming back) - garden is lovely. - staff is very friendly but seems to work on commission.

Interessantes qualitäsmässig gutes Essen. Jedoch sind die Portionen zu klein und zu überteuert, und es gibt nicht genügend Platz um den Abend zu geniessen. Man sitzt gepresst wie Sardinen. Schade.

We went here for a friends birthday and it was SO nice! We went on a Monday night and they were pumping (sign of a good restaurant!). We started with some jars of their delicious dips, and shared a few plates for mains. A highlight was the Feta Tempura! We also shared a couple of desserts. Everything was flavorful and the staff were friendly too. Would definitely recommend this place for some upmarket Greek food that packs a lot of flavour!

Posto eccessivamente caro per la quantita' e qualita' del cibo proposto e la tipologia di locale, assimilabile a poco piu' di una normale trattoria. Una piccolissima porzione di comuni calamari fritti, che altrove sono proposti nella stessa quantita' come antipasto, serviti senza nessun contorno, sono fatti pagare la bellezza di 24 sterline. Per sfamarci abbiamo chiesto del pane e al posto del delizioso pane pita greco, ci e ' stato fornito del pane comune abbrustolito servito con un po' di olio. In 9 abbiamo speso 358,88 sterline , mangiando ognuno un singolo piccolo piatto. Noi, profondi estimatori della cucina e della ospitalita' greca sperimentata sia in Grecia che in Europa, siamo stati profondamente delusi. E' stata la nostra unica esperienza molto negativa in un ristorante greco sia in Grecia che in Europa. Il mio merluzzo, in quantita' ridotta, era insipido e servito con poche verdure a pezzetti altrettanto senza sapore. Inoltre, il servizio e' molto lento e si mangia su banconi, neanche ricoperti da tovaglia. Neanche il locale giustifica i prezzi richiesti. Vivamente sconsigliato.

Sconsiglio vivamente questo locale per il pessimo rapporto qualita' prezzo. Le porzioni sono esigue e sono fatte pagare una fortuna. Una modestissima porzione di calamari fritti che altrove e' servita come un antipasto e' fatta pagare 24 sterline e e' servita senza nessun contorno. Noi siamo andati in 9 persone, ognuno di noi ha preso 1 solo minuscolo piatto e abbiamo speso 358 sterline. Ho chiesto del pane vedendo che mio marito era affamato e me lo hanno fatto pagare 4 euro alla porzione. Non era neanche pane pina ma un volgare pane abbrustolito

Great meal, great service, great vibe. We had the smoky aubergine pot, I’d skip the ceviche, it’s minuscule, courgette balls lovely, Greek salad was delicious, bread to dip into in the juices, artichoke in broth was good. The dessert balls were really yummy and super portion for 4 to share.

Some good dishes others seriously overpriced. Not enough vegetables available to make a balanced meal, unless you want to pay £14 for a Greek salad! Needs more reasonably priced wines on the menu. Paid over £40 for a very average bottle which would cost less than £25 elsewhere.

A little gem in Notting Hill. Outstanding food, great service and lovely location. If you are looking for your “holiday Greek food” this is not the place to go. This is Greek food on another level - would highly recommend and we will be back.

The service is efficient and friendly. The food is delicious. I particularly enjoyed the artichokes, salsify and seaweed - a delicious combination of flavours and textures. However it is very expensive.

The food prices are ridiculous, to have grilled chicken for 35 pound it’s way to much. The food doesn't taste that good it’s just basic, I also had risotto prawn which was tasteless. I wouldn’t go back. The service was ok!!

Delicious food and lovely atmosphere

Sadly a disappointing outing, they seem to be hit and miss, as I've had both good and bad meals here on prior occasions, unfortunately mainly bad. The dips were fine, although I don't know why they serve soft thick slices of bread with them, it's so dense and filling, surely a good homemade pitta would be better. The ossobuco, which I absolutely loved the last time, was sadly very disappointing on this visit, it arrived cold and the meat was so salty that I have severe heartburn now after the meal, it tasted as if it had been marinated in Bovril or beef stock cube! Not sure if their chef has changed or they are cutting corners with their ingredients. They did have the grace to take the ossobuco off the bill but then, despite the online menu quoting the wine we ordered (the Paranga) as £31, see attached picture, we were charged £40!! We also ordered two glasses of red wine, which they charged us £20 for, which also seemed very steep. I wasn't sure if they recouped their losses from the ossobuco through the wine prices. We did ask for the menu to check these and the lady with dark brown hair huffed off and took off the 2 glasses of red from the bill 🤔. Sadly, a very disappointing visit, felt very slapdash in the food quality, and like they're hiking up their prices to an extreme extent. I won't be back...

Lovely and delightful Sunday dinner in a lively and cheerful setting. The aubergine jar and the prawn risotto were beyond delicious. Very welcoming staff. Shreya was cordial and made sure we had a great time till the end. Will definitely come back to this gem.

Getting good Greek food can be challenging, but Mazi offers a wonderful experience. The taste of the taramasalata transports you to a Greek island at the height of summer and is one of the best dishes on the menu. Everyone in the group loved the risotto; we ordered a second portion. The black truffle chicken and the lamb melted in our mouths. Who knew gluten-free bread could be so delicious? The decor also gets you into a summer vibe with its classic island feel. Euan made the experience special. Nothing was too much trouble. Not cheap, but worth it.

True to it’s name, Mazi serves delicious Greek food with a modern twist following a sharing concept and original Greek wine. We had a lovely Saturday dinner with the perfect music playing in the background. Our waitress Shreya helped us out with the menu and ensured we had a lovely time throughout. The loukoumades is a must try. Definitely recommend this restaurant in the heart of London.

The food is good and nicely presented, but it's very pricey for what it is. Also a very 'compact' and super noisy venue when busy. (It was a good experience overall)

Strict 2-hour seating policy. Bad mannered & rude general manager, who for the sake of money & greed, kicks out customers unless they abide by a strict 2-hour seating policy. If you have a restaurant that belongs in a residential area and requires you to close at 11pm, then you cannot have 2-seatings per evening service. If you want to have 2-seatings per night to make the economics of the restaurant work, then pick another real estate location where restaurants can stay open until 1am. At the very minimum the restaurant should repeatedly inform guests during the booking confirmation or before they walk into the restaurant about the strict 2-hour seating policy. Never again

What a delight! From start to finish, our experience at Mazi was divine. The cozy and dim nook warmed us right up on a chilly March evening, and our server, Dionysus, was delightful. He was very helpful in helping the table select GF and DF dishes too - all of which were scrumptious! And of course, we had to try the negronis, which did not disappoint. We’ll be back!
