Maypole Fryer in Birmingham

Large cod cold , grey and pink, straight in the bin, meat in nan, very poor portion and forgot sauces, meat and chips very generous portion, but very plain

I ordered a special, cod pieces and chips £4-50 it was rubbish!!! The fish was tangy and horrible and the price for what I got was robbery, I must say the cod pieces and chips at the yardley wood fish shop are delicious and only £2-50 What a different.

He comido desde aquí muchas veces y nunca me ha decepcionado con la comida. Recientemente comencé a usar el servicio de entrega y lo que un hombre encantador nos entregó. ¡Muy alto! ! ! Cortés, amable y siempre alegre. Incluso cuando faltaba un elemento, volvió y se disculpó, nada era un problema. Con un servicio como este, ¿por qué iríamos a otro lado?

woman always messes sauce/salad up and by the time im home its too late to go back! crap service!!!!!

Mi chippy regular, los precios están a la par con el área, el servicio es bueno y los chips son deliciosos. Bien hecho.

Husband and I go here more or less every Saturday for a kebab dinner. Staff always friendly and happy to give extra sauce. Thanks!

My wife and I regularly have chicken meat in nan bread and it is fantastic. The staff are ever helpful and always provide an excellent portion. Would highly recommend.

Ordered food online and was told ldelivery would be 30 mins. Phoned after 30 min and was told another hour for delivery. Went and picked up ourselves as we were going out and couldn’t wait any longer. On getting the food home, it was lukewarm and the chips were awful. Wouldn’t use this place again.

Called in this fish shop today Saturday lunchtime for fish & chips. We were very disappointed, the chips were like scratchings and cold and they had a funny taste, so I don't know what oil they use. The fish wasn't much better to be honest. Not sure if they are new people manageing this place but we certainly won't be going again. I would not recommend the food here and I would advise people not to waste their money. Fish & chips are not cheap really these days so we expect them to be better than this.

Stopped off after work for a fish and chips the chips were hard they were not cooked properly really poor to be honest !

Amazing chips 😬. Had a family gathering to night so had big order but everybody commented how lovely food was. Also I received great customer service lovely lady on phone due to being big order she offered for free delivery which was easier for us. Thank you so much guys. 👌😝

I recently paid extra for a Southern Fried chicken breast but received a side breast instead. To compound the disappointment when I cut into it it was pink and uncooked inside! I also had to wait for fresh chips but these too were uncooked and were hard. Having used this chippie since it's opening the standard of food has gone downhill. I don't know whether it has changed hands again but the fryer is clearly inept at cooking. It's a shame because the staff are generally great.

Local chippy however visit are now very very rare. The prices are going up but the quality is that of big John's, cheap food. Compared to chips shops only few minutes down the road offering more for less and with service with a smile. Some staff are great and friendly and some look as though they are being inconveniend

Great chips are the staple to any chippy of course. These are great... not too oily with a great colour and perfect to accompany the great fish they fry. Been using these on and off for years . I can recommend the mix kebab wrap ! Really nice .. with chips and their curry sauce.. makes a great meal when your in a rush. Not overly pricey either ! Love it !

Used to visit this shop regularly, but lately this place is awful, always had terrible staff but now food is poor. Needs someone to take over asap

I have never had bad food at the maypole fryer and have been going there for over 3 years! Always friendly staff who are quick to serve you. the price you pay is well worth what you get!

Stopped for takeaway fish and chips when ravenous. Not as good as some but OK. Fish decent, chips so so but mushy peas lovely. Will try again another time.

I like going here for a kebab. For a fiver you get a kebab on naan which you can't get one of the quality in the close area.

Yummy this is the second time I have tried this chip shop well well well all I can say is that hygiene and presentation are second too none the staff are very friendly and helpful and the Food is Lush Pure Excellance WELL DONE

The food is great and there's always a que. Usually good portions but there really wasn't much meat in my kebab tonight. Disappointing that the owner/manager doesn't trust the girls to cut the meat as they would've given the correct amount. I think the owners...
