Mayfly Inn in Fermanagh

Beautiful old Irish type pub with real fire and a lot of heat on a cold January night. Friendly locals use this bar and the staff make you welcome. The fish and chips are perfect as is the gammon with fried egg and pineapple. All the plates arrive with food piled high so make sure you are hungry, no starter needed. Will be back. Reasonable price for all food and drink.

Just a quick drop in on a chilly night to sit by the fire for a pint. Looks like a place I'd like to go back to.

Went for Sunday dinner. Very generous portions of tasty tasty food. We had lamb, roast beef, turkey and stuffing, gravy, chips, mash and cabbage. It was great.

This place is so rustic and lovely.i had gammon and my partner had the stuffed lamb and it was to die for. The staff were lovely and good craic

First visit to this establishment, and well impressed! Lovely welcome by staff, friendly and efficient. Great decor and even more added for Halloween. The food was really tasty, good selection in menu. Will call again if in the area

Great bar, fantastic atmosphere

Mayfly in Kesh never lets you down! For years it has been my go-to-place when venturing in & round the stunning Lough Erne. Best food, pints, craic and friendly staff, 10/10

Had 3 meals within our week holiday in the area. Excellent food. Unfortunately on 1 of our visits when we had just called in for a drink, 2 customers were openly vaping at the bar area. It would appear they were well known and the staff quite happily ignored what they were doing. I am asthmatic and with the smell affecting my chest I had to leave!!! Had this not happened I would be giving this review 5 *.

Appalling Service, rude unhelpful staff, who didn’t know what was on the menu, forgot to bring drinks and one of our dinners! We didn’t feel valued or welcome. Food 3 out of 5. Service 1 out of 5! It’s a shame because this has the potential to be a nice place.

Stunning, I really enjoyed it, I have been going to this place for years and it has never disappointed, Clean, tidy and the staff are great. Price to quality was spot on, this place is well worth a look. Parking is out the back, which is a mess but no issues for me. I will return when I am back in the area.

Great pub food, pub is highly nice decorated, service also great. Had the sirloin, and the group had Burgers, everybody happy with it. Prices also normal.

We visited The Mayfly on a Sunday evening, having booked on for food on the recommendation of a few different people. We were hosting guests from England, and were hoping for a good experience. We were seated promptly and received our drinks. The order was taken promptly too, and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food. The food overall was good, however the waitress, on seeing some of us with empty plates, came and began to clear the table before one of our guests had finished eating. The poor lady felt rushed and handed her plate over, still with the remainder of her food on it. No acknowledgement from the waitress. Nor was there an offer of dessert or more drinks. Perhaps they needed to turn the table quickly (which seemed unlikely - we hadn’t taken long to eat our meals, and the restaurant wasn’t overly busy), but whatever the reason, it was a somewhat disappointing experience. I’d go back for the food, but I couldn’t recommend the service on this occasion.

Loved it great pint friendly atmosphere

Great restaurant, food really good and generous portions. I had the American gammon steak and it was so tasty and melted in the mouth.

My husband, daughter, her partner and myself called here after a Motorsport event in the vicinity, after ordering, we were told of a delay due to the number of people who had also called in after the event, we ordered, gammon n chips, 2x chicken goujons and a fish n chips, when out food arrived, it was absoultely lovely, tasty, fresh, well presented, good portions, the proprietor Gary wasnt afraid to get stuck in and help with the service and clearing up and spoke to ALL the customers in his dining room, which I thought was a lovely gesture, I would strongly recommend a visit to the Mayfly if in the area, I assure you, you won't be disappointed

Booked for Easter Sunday but my name wasn't on the list. Not that it mattered. The staff made sure we had a table and recieved great service as well as food. Stuffed lamb with mint jus and mashed potato was absolutely delish. The veg was a puree and was equally as good. Needed a walk home after this feast 😋

Gents toilets are a disgrace. No soap at the wash hand basins ( any lessons learnt from Covid? ) no toilet seat in one of the cubicles, black mould covering the ceiling of said cubicle, the other was sprayed with old excrement. Thankfully didn't need to use either. Poor. Toilets speak a lot to the general hygiene of a place. Sort it out. Staff were very good and food was tasty, but I wouldn't rush back because of the aforementioned.

Dropped in for light lunch. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Enjoyed creamy vegetable soup with fresh wheaten bread and my wife had the best chicken wings I've ever come across and a bowl of chips. Great value and would return again if passing through.

It was OK ..... When I order 'roast beef' .... I am hoping for roast potatoes .... and maybe horseradish sauce ? To be fair ... there was one 'roast' potato (more likely deep fried - but hey), just in case you might feel short changed on the potato front .... the meat was draped over a mound of mash potatoes and it came with a side of fries !!! ??? Odd presentation .... yorkshire pudding balanced on top of the mash & meat mound !!

Fabulous place for a good night's craic. Food is good and reasonably priced .

Had previously reviewed this bar and restaurant higher, but lately tables of people in restaurant - not eating - but vaping has ruined my meal and therefore my experience . If owners want to allow in bar - their decision but I want to eat my meal in a safe place without strawberry and candyfloss vape being blown around me. For any parent I would especially avoid this environment.

Lovely pub with great atmosphere. Stopped here with my wife, her sister and brother in law for a meal in August. We were not disappointed. Food was lovely and plenty of it! Staff are friendly. Would recommend this place highly.

Had a lovely Sunday dinner at 4pm or after, never been before but nice cosy pub and big restaurant at the back, would recommend it.

Wonderful food and top class hospitality. Have eaten in the restaurant many times this summer and the staff are always welcoming and superbly attentive. Even on our first visit Shirley made time to ask about our holiday plans and talk to my 11 year old nephew. I never write reviews but the Mayfly on Kesh deserves it. Go there, you will love the food and feel so, so welcome.

Lovely meal, choice of restaurant or bar and reasonably priced. Always book a table when staying in Enniskillen and never disappointed.

Stopped at this restaurant on 24 August as we were informed that it was dog friendly, we were able to bring our two miniature schnauzers into the bar to have something to eat. The staff were very friendly and we had a lovely meal. There isn't a big selection on the menu but what we had was very good and I would definitely recommend it. I had the chicken goujons with chips and salad, and my wife had the turkey dinner. Excellent food and plenty of it. Very reasonably priced as well. The Mayfly is a popular bar restaurant in Kesh and is well worth a visit you shouldn't be disappointed will be back again.

Quality food- lots of choice- large portions. So glad we chose this restaurant for our family meal. Thanks to Connie and her daughters for great food and great service. Loved the fish and chips and the gammon!

We visited here and came back for more the steak was top quality the fish was huge and so tasty it was busy but staff couldn't do enough for us we will be back highly recommend the steak

Couldn't wait to get back after our previous visit which was superb. Our main course was delicious when it finally arrived. The same could not be said for pudding there was far more pastry than rhubarb in the cold pie, the waffles were over heated and came with fudge pieces when the menu said maltesers. The service was very slow and the staff were not very visible but were polite when they did come to the table. At one point I considered using my mobile to call the restaurant to ask for service, the restaurant was less than half full while we were there, at one point a member of staff came from the bar area and shouted down the restaurant about a tables mains who's starters had been served over half an hour previously. When I was paying an member of staff asked me had everything been OK. I explained my experience, she advised that they had staff off with covid and that she was sorry she went on to say that they had new staff working and that these weren't excuses, I suggested that if they could not cope they should not take as many bookings as they had even though the place was less than half full, and they should tell there bosses, to which she replied I have but it falls on deaf ears and I am only a pleb. Not what I would call a great way to respond to an already disappointed customer.

Just stopped by chance on passing through. 1st time eat there and will be back soon again. Very good selection on menu. Good big portion. Chips came complimentary. The meal was very tasty. I don't often have dessert but thought I'd try the honeycomb delight. It was a delight to eat. A meringue base with 2 scoops of honeycomb ice cream and toffee sauce to go over it. Toffee and crunching pieces on plate round it. The best dessert I eat in long time. Service was quick and staff very nice. Definitely a place to stop to eat if you passing through.

We stumbled upon this lovely place while staying at the Finn Lough hideaway, about 10 minutes away. We had looked for an evening meal in the nearest village (Pettigo) with no luck, so we drove on into Kesh. What a treat – the lamb cutlets...
