The best spot in Brixton IMO. Cheap and with an unpretentious vibe, and the food and drink taste great!

Amazing - cheapest bar in London - £2 for glass of wine and £2 for sagres beer. Good wine too! They sell tasty Portugeuse snacks as well

I believe this place has moved now due to roadworks but it was a great place to have a cheap sagres or super bock and some nibbles very reasonably priced! The atmosphere , really friendly and best place to start random chats with random people. However, the looks might not be UK customer standards but it is definitely true to Portugal & Spain neighbourhood bars, so I thought its authenticity deserved a review!

I have visited Max Snack Bar on numerous occasions. From the outside it looks very rough and ready. Inside, it is very basic, with the counter at the back. The true selling point of this place is the quality of the food and drink for the prices on offer. The prices are very consumer friendly. The beer is all Portuguese (Sagres or Super Bock) and is £1.80 per bottle at the time of writing. There is also an extensive menu of sandwiches which are priced at around £2.50 to £4.00. You can also order hot food and there is an offering of various cakes, which come in ample portions. I understand the coffee is good. They also have a couple of TV screens, which are almost always showing different sports on from around the world.

I've come here a number of times while in Brixton and it has never ceased to disappoint. Where else can you get 2 bottles of Superbock for £3.40?! The coffee they serve is great and they also serve delicious Portuguese hot food, salads and cakes (including Pasteis de Nata!!).

We recently popped into Monkey Leaf for brunch, having been able to book a table last minute. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and in spite of the restaurant being busy we didn't wait

A very good restaurant Good seasoning, good taste. I had lunch as if I were at home, because I simply say, Portuguese restaurant, that's enough 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Large portion and very good, I recommend it 1

Gorgeous spot, great cocktails and wine selection - and even better staff, especially Conor, Esther and the fabulous human in the flower/egg sweater vest!
