Maurizio s in Three Rivers

It was and always will be our go to place for for a familial meal. We having been coming here for more than 20 years, and hopefully can come for the next 20, and into the years after!! Maurizio, and his daughter, are always welcoming to all diners.

It was very good thanks. Fantastic food and a wonderful atmosphere. Staff were very attentive as always.

Friends took me to this restaurant for the first time. I have an intolerance of garlic so expressed my concerns on arrival. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and, much to my surprise, I was given the choice of most items on the menu! My meal was excellent - would highly recommend and will, hopefully, return!

A fantastic restaurant, with outstanding food, a relaxed atmosphere and lovely friendly staff make this our ‘ go to’ place to eat whenever we are staying in Rickmansworth. Get yourselves along to enjoy their hospitality.

We booked a table for 10 people to celebrate my son’s 25th on Tuesday. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and taken to our table and given menus. The menu was clear to read and I particularly liked the fact that there were several vegetarian/ vegan options and they were colour coded. The food arrived in good time, piping hot and the portions were big. Everyone at the table loved their choices. The food was tasty & authentic and the service was good throughout. The chef came out at intervals and said good evening to us, we complimented him on the food. The prices were a little above average but the quality and portion sizes made up for that. All in all, a really lovely experience! We’ll definitely be going back. 😃👍

Maurizios is a great chilled placed for some really good Italian food. You really won’t be disappointed if you come here. The staff are so friendly and attentive. They all have big smiles on their faces which is so nice to see. The portions are really big don’t come here if you aren’t hungry! I had the calamari to start and seafood linguine for my main which both were so delicious. The calamari was not rubbery at all. You can tell they use fresh ingredients. For dessert I had the home made tiramisu which quite possibly was the best tiramisu I’ve ever eaten. I think this is going to become mine and my girlfriends new date night spot. I can’t wait to return and try other dishes.

Absolute brilliance here at Maurizios! The staff and service are amazing. Authentic Italian food was delicious and very good portion sizes! Will definitely be coming back here again. Would advise anyone who likes Italian food to come here and experience the traditional Italian atmosphere, service and food. You will not be disappointed. The most incredible Italian family restaurant, a beautiful setting, amazing service & delicious food! This restaurant makes it feel like being home with the owner/head chef coming out of the kitchen to welcome everyone in! A Must visit! We will be back!!

Definitely our favourite restaurant. Family run with great service and wonderfully prepared authentic Italian food. We shared a starter of lovely grilled sardines. For mains my son and I had the veal milanese. Large portions and very tender fillets served with spaghetti in a fresh tomato sauce. Just perfect. My daughter loved the seafood linguine from the specials board while my wife had the fresh sea bass . All washed down with a bottle of Gavi de Gavi (reasonably priced at £31). For dessert the highlight was the homemade pecan pie with ice cream. All in all a fantastic lunch. Grazie mille !

The best and safest place to be - like being at home but someone else is cooking. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and I’m sure they could have put more tables in but because they’re really respectable about our worries and about social distancing they chose service over profit. I went to Maurizio's a few years back, so I know the 'normal' layout of the restaurant, so it is great to see that they are respecting social distancing here. We were greeted by a lovely waitress wearing PPE and got our temperature taken via a non-invasive temperature gun on arrival. She was incredibly passionate and knowladgable about the food and wine which made for a fantastic first impression.We had the sardines and focaccia to start, followed by the veal and the spaghetti vongole, all of which were excellent. If there is anything I hate, it's mushy pasta, so my dish did not disappoint: perfectly cooked. The food was so good that despite being stuffed, we ordered a tiramisu to share for desert.As there are fewer tables, booking in advance is recommended, however, a friend of ours popped in for a takeaway pizza which he said was EPIC, so if you don't get a table, takeaway is an option.It was lovely to be out on our first date night in so long. The fact that the waiting staff looks like they're about to operate on you does not detract from the great food, lovely atmosphere and incredible waiting staff. My partner and I work in an eating establishment in the local area, so for me to give a rival business full marks is really saying something. Definitely coming back here. I was a regular visitor to Maurizio when my office was based in Rickmansworth, we went with staff and sometimes with customers, the service and the food was always perfect, we were always warmly welcomed and usually were the last to leave, that’s how good it was.I was invited there today by a customer and friend who lives locally and was my first visit for several years.I was not disappointed!Service, food, atmosphere was all perfect for a lunch, the Gavi was beautiful, and the pasta was every bit as good, if not better than you would get anywhere, all fresh, and fantastic, and great value!I’m making sure I’m going back very very soon!

In these very difficult times for restaurants, this place showed how you can still offer warm friendly service and good food. The service was polite and efficient yet still coping with the COVID regulations. The food was of a very good quality and portion sizes plentiful. Excellent value and well worth a visit.

Food was good, quantity of meat in the calzone was good. Disappointed we didn’t get offered the lunch time deal and were just given the main menu.

Restaurant is back open and great food as usual! Temperature is taken before you go to your table, staff wear masks and tables are obviously set apart. The food and service was amazing as usual. And they have a little outside section now which was lovely to sit and eat in.

We came across this restaurant by chance. Although it was midweek and 1.45 our food was very good and served hot and fresh. Minestrone soup was excellent so was the pasta and pizzas. You certainly won't go home hungry. Set menu good value.

My husband and myself came to dine here upon recommendation from a colleague. We are from South Africa and found out the owner is from SA as well.the food is true Italian and mouth watering! They make make spaghetti for your dinner

I recently took my staff to Maurizio's for our Christmas Meal.We were hosted by Alessa for the night in the private room upstairs and nothing went wrong.The Deep Fried Brie was the popular choice amongst my team and it didn't let us down! I highly recommend it for a starter!The food overall tasted lovely and no one was left unhappy.Thank you for a wonderful night and we'll see you again soon.James :)

A true master class throughout the whole menu. Pizza, pasta, fine meats, specials and seafood, made fresh by an amazing kitchen. Front of house couldn’t get any better, family run & service you would expect in a London fine dining restaurant; with all the engagement, friendliness and class from each of the team. My favourite restaurant in Herts, wonderful Chianti aswell!

Came here for a family celebration - haven't been for a couple of years.Really good food and if you can make it for the Early Bird menu it has some great items on the menu for a reduced price.No one in our party had a bad meal but the staff did seem really stretched at times but we were there at a busy time.Definitely book yourself in here for some great Italian food

We held a baby shower at Maurizio’s today. Food and service couldn’t be faulted! Authentic Italian food and service with a smile! Thank you for your amazing hospitality and letting us take over the restaurant fir the afternoon!

Nice food. Great atmosphere for families - kids loved it. Had to ask for the fixed price menu, but there was a good selection of dishes on the set menu (pasta dish was a bit on the small side). Food wasn’t as good as last time we came, but the staff were very friendly and the evening was enjoyable. Sometimes hard getting staff attention (drinks ran out and couldn’t get attention easily for refills).

We had our very first date in this place over 13 years ago and like to go back at least every other month. A couple of weeks ago we had a group of six friends coming to stay for the weekend and where else could we have taken them but to Maurizio's. As always they delivered the goods. The food was authentic and generous and the hospitality from Father, Daughter and the rest of the team was so welcoming as always.

I’ve driven past this restaurant for years on my way to work so when my friend suggested we had dinner there, I was keen to check it out.

Came here for dinner recently with some friends. They had a great menu and the specials sounded delicious. Every course was served hot, fresh, tasty and were great value for money, especially given how large the portions are! You can tell the food here is made fresh and not reheated. The service was friendly and efficient and the wine was great too.

I recently hosted a party in Maurizio’s bar room upstairs, and what a nigh it was.

Maurizio’s is the best Italian for miles, food is always amazing and such generous portions for what you pay,family friendly and staff always put in 100% from the kitchen to front of house you cannot fault this restaurant! Feels like home x

We dined here on a Saturday evening for my mums 70th birthday which was a special family meal and get together for us. There were 14 of us in total and 5 children were in our party, mine aged 9 and 11. I paid for my dads meal whilst my brother paid for my mums meal. For the four of us it cost an extortionate amount of money over £170 in total and we had no choice over what we could order and was given a set menu despite this not being communicated when my sister in law booked. The food was ok for those of us that didn’t have special dietary requirements (which two in our party did have and they were poorly catered for! A plate of chopped tomatoes wouldn’t be considered a choice for anyone’s starter! And a scoop of lemon sorbet for dessert! certainly not worthy of a £43 price tag and made worse by the fact that on booking my sister in law was assured they would be accommodated for) the food was limited in choice and the kids definitely would not have chosen what was on offer and I wouldn’t have chosen to have a dessert. I feel ripped off to be honest and i have to be honest it has left a sour taste on my mouth!

I have enjoyed eating at a standard table in the main restaurant in the past. Do not book the upstairs room! It will cost £40 plus for each child to eat. The usual menu is not available upstairs. A disappointingly reduced menu choice (only 3 desert choices, one of which was not available). Despite numerous discussions about dietary requirements before the event, our guests were made to feel uncomfortable about there needs on the day. Not a good choice of venue for family events. Will not be eating here again.

Love coming with the family for lunch, been for many years always a wonderful experience and the food is delicious! Definitely worth a visit.

This is the third time we have been to Mauritzios when visiting family in Pinner. The food and service is second to none. Each time we go I have something different as the choice is so varied and I have never been disappointed with anything. The greeting at the door is always friendly and welcoming, the waiters very attentive and helpful and the food to die for. This time I had the veal milanaise ( shown in the first picture), the combination seems strange but try it. I do not understand Steve E' comment as to the owner being annoying and over friendly. You just can't please some people.

We visited as a family of 5 and had pizza and pasta. A number of specials were available and everything we ordered tasted really good - pizza, calzones and puttanesca. We had dessert which were all good but pretty uninspiring; cheesecake, brownies and ice cream. Service was good although I felt some of the pricing was a little too high for the experience. I would recommend for a good meal in Rickmansworth but due to its size it would be worth booking in advance.

Average food with annoying over friendly owner. To be honest, I’ve just seen a 4 out of 5 stars for food hygiene on this restaurant which is unacceptable when all the restaurants around it have 5. ZaZa next door is far far better option

It was a rainy day and I needed cheering up. My friend Joanna called and we decided to go to Maurizio's for lunch. Although it has been in this location for 20 years I hadn't been there before, but Joanna had. She could hardly wait to return.

We went with friends on Sunday evening not having been there for a while. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. However, the place is very noisy as there are no cloths on the tables, no curtains/blinds or carpets. My husband is hard of hearing so it was a little difficult.

The food was outstanding and the service was great. Proper italian food cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes from the menu.

Just visited Mauritzio with my two grandchildren, they love it there, had a fabulous meal as usual. The food is amazing as are the staff. It is a very friendly place, the staff make you feel so welcome and it is very reasonably priced, and the portions are ample.

Fab food, Fab position, Fab entertainment. Darren and Kevin were our favourite with the juggling (Didn’t drop one orange) and the contortionist Amazing Maxine not too bad but got her leg stuck in a chair at the end but must have been exhausted by then I would imagine. Best Italian food around. My wife and a women she recently met at spin classes but knew her face from all the local pubs called Sarah go there at least 3 times a week. It’s very easy to drive and park and Sarah is a very good driver, I’m told unlike her husband Mick. Very friendly staff and fab service.

We went here for dinner one evening with the teenagers and their friends. The place was clean, the service was excellent, the food was great, Would we return, I think so.

Amazing food, amazing staff! You can't find better pasta or pizza nowhere in London. Seafood linguine and penne carbonara, belissima! Don't forget about the desserts before you leave. The daily specials are amazing. Will be coming back!

We went here as a group of couples. The restaurant was very busy but the service was prompt and friendly there is a very good choice on the menu which is mainly traditional Italian. Everybody was pleased with their food we had 8 starters and 8 mains a couple of bottles of red and a couple of bottles of white a few beers and it came to £78 per couple not bad value. Would recommend this if you are in the area. Tip - book in advance!

friends know how fussy we are but for a small restaurant and quite large menu everything was delicious. the staff bend over backwards to help easy to park nothing to complain about for us that is a miracle . cant wait to return

Let’s start with the positives.

Visited a number of times over the years. 4 of us went for a meal on Saturday evening. The specials are superb, and change regularly, I even resisted my regular choice of lamb cutlets. I had an excellent aubergine starter and main of seafood risotto. Really good customer service and always feel welcome! I’m a bit fussy if they can, will adapt a course to your requirements! Worth a visit!

We love visiting Maurizio's for a casual dinner, knowing we are going to get great service and delicious food in a great location. Easy walking distance to the train station and parking available nearby.

We arranged with the restaurant to have a family meal for my daughters 18th birthday and we used their private room which is located upstairs to the main dining area.

Popped in for a quick evening meal, just some garlic bread and a lasagne. The bread was different but fine. However the lasagne was very disappointing. Very liquid and tasteless. Certainly wouldn't try it again

It’s not easy to find somewhere to have lunch in Rickmansworth, despite the apparent prosperity required to purchase a property to live there. A wander down the Ricky’s high street offers few places to eat in between the surprisingly dishevelled selection of shops. I was about to give up and it was only that I couldn’t remember exactly where the car park (free, all day weekends) was I had left my car and came across Maurizio’s.

Ideal place to meet for business or pleasure, staff very pleasant and food very good. Nicely situated on the high street easy walk from the car parking.

Thoroughly enjoyed the evening with colleagues. Good location, with parking at the back. Not cheap but lovely atmosphere; great service and very good portions. I shared the Tricolore for starters and penne arrabiata for mains. Then the mint tea whilst my friends had calamari for starters and different pasta and some had muscles for mains. Everyone enjoyed their order. Will perhaps go again.
